He catches anyone who openly opposes his faction, and those who oppose it not so openly.

[b]Keys and Houses of Records and Holding: [/b] Public appearance for [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/DeSotoDiceFreak/Carnivale/Records.jpg]Records[/URL] and [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/DeSotoDiceFreak/Carnivale/Holding.jpg]Holding[/URL].

[b]Records[/b] keeps the [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/DeSotoDiceFreak/Carnivale/KeyofRecords.jpg]key[/URL] to the [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/DeSotoDiceFreak/Carnivale/HouseofRecords.jpg]chest of drawers[/URL] that holds personal files on the citizens of Cenive; this information seems to show up in the drawers on parchment out of thin air. Records? information is often used to send the Hound on the Hunt. The information has been known to be faulty.

[b]Holding[/b] keeps the [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/DeSotoDiceFreak/Carnivale/KeyofHolding.jpg]key[/URL] to the [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/DeSotoDiceFreak/Carnivale/HouseofHolding.jpg]holding cells[/URL] where those who the Scales of Judgment have found guilty are kept. No one, it seems, can get out of these cells unless they are being led to their death.

[b]Scales of Judgment: [/b] Public [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/DeSotoDiceFreak/Carnivale/Judgment.jpg]appearance[/URL]. Judgment gives rulings on whether those brought before the stand are guilty or not. The [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/DeSotoDiceFreak/Carnivale/ScalesofJudgment.jpg]golden scales[/URL] sit upon the dais beside Judgment and tip to the left for guilty and the right for not; citizens fear the scales for more often than not they tip to the left.

[b]Gavel of Ending: [/b] Public [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/DeSotoDiceFreak/Carnivale/Ending.jpg]appearance[/URL]. When Judgment reaches a decision, it is made final by the resounding boom of the [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/DeSotoDiceFreak/Carnivale/GavelofEnding.jpg]Gavel of Ending[/URL]. The sounds brings forth one of the Executioners. Citizens fear Gavel more than they fear Judgment, as it makes the reality even clearer.

[b]Executioners? Noose and Gallows: [/b] Public appearance for [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/DeSotoDiceFreak/Carnivale/E-1.jpg]Noose[/URL] and [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/DeSotoDiceFreak/Carnivale/E.jpg]Gallows[/URL].

[b]Noose[/b] is the one to execute nobles. Execution of nobles takes place in a [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/DeSotoDiceFreak/Carnivale/Noose.jpg]secluded area[/URL], and their death and subsequent burial is kept very hush-hush.

[b]Gallows[/b] executes self-styled nobles and working class citizens. Executions of the aforementioned are at [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/DeSotoDiceFreak/Carnivale/Gallows.jpg]public gallows[/URL] ? usually in Cenive?s squares ? and advertised.

[i]Note:[/i] Even if a mask looks feminine or masculine, it does not indicate which gender the wearer is ? that is decided by the player.

These characters also interact with the members of the Opposed, as most Opposed members work for/with them.[/COLOR]

[b]Nobles: [/b] Actual nobles have been nobles for centuries. These people are most likely to remember what it was like before Maestro became head of the city.

[b]Self-styled Nobles: [/b] Will wear fine fabrics and eat at expensive inns. Are likely to change their names and sever ties with former friends to try and get in good with actual Nobles.

[b]Working Class Citizens: [/b] The heart and life of the city. They keep everything running, and if they succeed in going unnoticed can learn almost [i]anything.[/i][/COLOR]

I understand the more limited nature of the general populace/good guys, and I like it, but I am uncertain of how and if I should incorporate magic into my character. Basically, I'm looking for a definite boundary, a point not to cross. (Aside from the obvious one of "within good measure", naturally.)[/FONT]

With the Judiciary, I am thinking their magic can apply to things such as their appearances, their intelligence, fitness and to what they say.

They can use it, in essence, to hide who they are, increase their knowledge in ways they shouldn't, increase their strength (Within reason) and aid them in lying (For example: making their lies seem truths.).

The last thing I can think to add besides the above mentioned is this:

[b]Records[/b] has magic that sort of slips into people's lifes and pulls information for the files.

[b]Holding[/b] has a sort of mental control of his workers at his cells.

[b]The Hound[/b] can call the Pharoah Hound from wherever without a sound

[b]Judgement[/b] can make the scales tip without physically touching them.
