Art The Arena Mob

So I got inspired, and finally sketched this piece that I have meant to do for a long time now. I did it to honor the coolest gang of OtakuBoards, ie. the Arena Mob. I think it turned out quite nice, actually, for such a quick work.

In the picture here you can see, from left to right, [b]Lady Asphyxia[/b] (as a supervisor, not so much as a mobster), [b]myself[/b], [b]Ozymandius Jones[/b], [b]Ezekiel[/b] and [b]Blayze[/b]. I dressed us up a bit like Turks from Final Fantasy VII, but of course with an original twist. I want to apologize if anybody's hairdo has changed by now, I used the images you posted to the OtaKuties as a reference.

To point out an interesting detail, we are holding the Weapons of Moderation: the Mod Rod, pages worth of Teh Rulez, a Grammar Book and a humongous Lock to close threads with. Lady A. doesn't carry her Ban Hammer, but she's on a mobile connection with James, aka the Big Boss.

So, what do you all think?

[COLOR=DarkRed]I think it's fantastic! ^_^ I love how clean it looks and how you have each of them standing on a block with the letters spelling OTAKU. ^_~ And having each of you holding one of the tools of moderation is pretty nifty.

I don't know what to say since it's got a nice clean look that I like. And I love how Ezekiel looks like she's lecturing someone on grammar. lol Though I was curious to know if you plan on eventually coloring it, I know I would enjoy seeing a full color version. [/COLOR]

The thing is, I'm not familiar with the secrets of digital coloring, and with my coloring pencils I'd just end up messing the whole paper up. :/ Yeah, I'm [I]that[/I] sort of an artist... (only good for one type of art.)

I'd love to see it in full-color as well, but since I lack the talent, I'd be honored if somebody would like to do it for me. But that's not why I posted this here, just wanted to show my view of the Mob.

[COLOR=DarkRed]Fun stuff, I like the whole concept. With them standing on blocks with the letters otaku to them holding things related to moderation.

Lady A. looks like she could either be referring to keeping an eye on you guys or members in general. You look like you're just waiting for someone to step out of line so you can poke them with your mod rod.

Ozzy is just calmly holding the rules, reminds me of greeting a new school teacher when you enter the classroom. lol Ezekiel definitely looks like she's dressing someone down for not using proper grammar and Blayze with the nonchalant air of one just calmly waiting to lock things down fits perfectly.

And I like the simple lines as well. Hopefully someone does color it as I think it would look great. ;)[/COLOR]

Seriously, that's pretty sweet. I've always wanted to draw members of OB in an anime style but I can't draw so that idea kind of went down the drain. But you can draw! So it works!

I really like the weapons you guys are wielding. Especially the giant lock (which I guess is nothing special) and the mod rod (which I think looks awesome). That Mod Rod really does look vicious. I can't wait to see the Ban Hammer for when you draw Desbreko, James and Dagger. *hint hint*[/FONT][/COLOR]

But good lord! I would love to see more of these done. Especially James, Dagger and Desbreko. I just laughed and laughed when I saw this.

The whole thing is just too fun. I love all their poses and the tools of moderation that you picked for each person. Especially Ozy since she's always telling people about the sticky and how the sticky [rules] is your friend. So having her holding the book fits her so well.

Really? Thanks! Oh, and [B]Beth[/B] and [B]Zeke[/B] can give it a try as well, if they want.

As for colors, well, everything else is up to you, but the hair colors go something like this: Lady A. is golden blonde, me and Blayze have darker brown hair, and Ozy's hair is light brown (and fuzzy!). Ezekiel's hair changes color all the time so she can have pretty much any color, but in the picture I used as a reference she had dark red hair.

I also think the suits should be "OB blue" (ie. the blue you see all around here), while the shirts are white. Except for Lady A., who should be different from us "lowlings", so maybe she could wear pink (as in the Geisha-skin)? But as said, I'll leave it up to anybody who wants to do the coloring.

[B]White:[/B] Huh?! [I]All[/I] members? You gotta be kidding me... XP Heh, I could do one for Dessy, Daggy and Jamesy, but I only know what Des looks like.

[B]Beth:[/B] I wouldn't go as far as calling it "line art" - I just inked the sketch I did with a marker. The result is a bit sloppy too, especially with the blocks, which came somewhat as an afterthought.

[color=#4B0082]This is pretty awesome. Everyone was instantly recognizable and the drawing does look nice and clean except for a few bits on the blocks. I, too, would love to see your renditions of James, Dagger, and myself.

Blaze looks like he's all smiles -- until someone posts a dumb thread and he pulls that lock out from behind his back and smacks them upside the head with it. I love it. :toothy:[/color]

That's what I was aiming for, actually. I just didn't know what real cattle prod's looked like so I imagined one (of course Google's image search would probably have solved that problem as well).

And [B]cancer[/B], thank you for the coloring, it looks nice. The background could have used a bit of color as well, but I'm not complaining.

I agree with that, the pose didn't quite end up like I pictured it in my mind - despite the fact that I rehearsed it in front of a full-body mirror. XP Also, the heads are a bit too big, as usual in my drawings, but I guess it just fits the style since I wasn't aiming for photorealism but somewhat comic caricatures.

Unfortunately I so rarely find the enthusiasm to draw anymore that I feel like my skills are slowly deteorating from what they were a few years back. :/
