Rachmaninoff
I haven?t seen a thread on this yet. I?m assuming they?ve occurred in the past since for me at least; it?s about this time of year that I start thinking about my plans for the summer. I?m looking forward to it this year since last summer sucked. I had been in a car accident before summer started and I spent a good part of it recovering from the broken leg I got. So most of things I had planned did not happen. Anyway, plans for me usually involve going with my friends on the weekends to somewhere in the mountains and going on different hikes. This year we are planning on hitting most of the national parks here since they?re a number of hikes we have yet to do. If you aren?t familiar with Utah, the geology is pretty interesting and fun to see when you do visit. If money and time permits my friends and I also plan on visiting the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Anyway, what are your plans for the summer?
ChibiHorsewoman
Well for me last summer sucked because I was jobless through most of it, my grandma died and my car was off the road until August. But now I have my car back, a really cool job (okay not cool, but I do like my job) and... okay so my grandma didn't come back from the dead, but I think she's helping me from where she is now. This summer I plan on spending time with my friends- whether they like it or not. I'm already starting plans for two weekend trips with one of my friends on the other side of the state (I live in Western New YOrk and she lives nearly downstate- but not in NYC) along with another shopping trip for us and our friends. Unfortunately since I only just started working for my company in December I don't have vacation time, so I just plan on making everything on weekends I have off. Also this summer the nursing home that two of my clients are at is offering CNA classes. So I plan on enrolling in those as well. Right now I'm only an HHA with no licensing and I need the money. Rachminoff: I don't know if you've ever been to the Grand Canyon before, but I definately recommend trying. I went back in 2000 and I still haven't found anything to compair it to. It's breath taking... just watch out for the mountain goats.
eleanor
Two words: SATs and college. P: I plan to have my fun summer of senior year, though. And I do want to get a job as well. I worked as a waitress last summer, and it's not something I want to do again. If only Barnes & Noble hired 17-year-olds... But above all: HARRY POTTER.
Gavin
Interesting, most interesting. Well I'll be working for most of the summer hopefully, I've got a job lined up for the first month or so working in my high school assisting during exams and I'll probably be able to pick up something else before the end of the season. If it all goes well I may be cruising in my first car by September, which would be a major load off my back in regard to high school. I'll definitely meet up with some pals who are in university at the moment, go for a couple of drinks and catch up. Probably hit the gym again as well, without any heavy school work to do I'll be able to concentrate more on working out. That's about it. BlueMoon
But above all: HARRY POTTER.
Yeah! I had nearly forgotten about this. I'll be locking myself in my room, shutting off the internet and unplugging the phone while I read it, haha. I hate spoilers. I'm even looking forward to the movie, just so I can finally tell my dad book 5 spoilers (he only follows the movies, so I'm not allowed to tell him what happens in the books until the movies come out). Aside from gaming and movies, I'll mostly be finishing up transfering to university. I've finished my two years at community college, so now the fun part. But mostly I plan on writing. I want to get at least one of my novels done by the end of the year, so hopefully summer will give me the time to do that.
Riku
Wow... summer is coming by so quickly. It's hard to believe that I'll be graduating from high school in a few months and applying to colleges quickly enough. Anyway, as for what I'm doing, I'll be working at my job throughout the whole summer, bagging other's groceries and getting tips every time. Needless to say, though tips alone, it's not half- bad... I get about $40 each day I work for the three hours. I'll probably go traveling with my folks since we have a good opportunity to travel since we're here in England. Italy, Amsterdam, Germany, Paris, Bahamas... sometimes, it's good to stay with your folks for awhile until you feel okay leaving on your own. Partying all night long, birches. ;P No, seriously, after finally finishing high school and all that hard work, I'm going to party and hang out with friends a little more... and maybe even warm up to someone special. Reading big books, playing video games all day, watching anime, reading manga, drawing, chatting online... I'll also be doing that as well over the summer. Because, well... once you're on Otaku, there's no going back. ;]
Guest NIKI12345
I'm a swimer freak. I do volenter work at the pool and the youth center. I have a job as a lifeguard and I'm in swimteam so working out is going to be a big part of my summer. Humm friends I'll see them at school* just joking* I'll hang out with them too. Uh no big vacations because I went to Hawaii so I don't feel like going anywhere but I might go to Texas with my best friend Raquelle. I'm looking forward to that because of many different reasons. Oh yeah and studing for the next school year. Thats it I know how sad I'm such a busy bee.
OMNOMNOMALY
Lots to do this summer, as usual! Because I play club soccer, I will be playing through the summer, until atleast mid-August. That usually means training twice a week, and then two games a week on top of that. I plan on working full time, doing the working 5 days a week thing. Not really my idea of fun, but I have to save for university, because it is fast approaching. In July, I really want to take either Math 30 Pure or Biology 30. I want to get atleast one diploma course out of the way, it's too much stress to be taking 5 diplomas at once, and I do not handle stress well *laughs* It's a month long process, so that means that I'll have to work nights, if I want it to be full time. After all that, I hope I will still have time for fun, haha. I will likely be flying out to Vancouver Island in British Columbia to stay with my best friend for a couple of weeks in July, and maybe I'll get to hit up a few parties here at home.

pooperson
This summer will be most interesting. First and foremost is Marching Band. Hopefully, I will be drum major this year, so I will be committing a lot of my time [AKA - most of my summer] to that. I have two weeks in June and a parade, plus every weekday from the 3rd week in July through late August. Fun! Then there is Vaction with the Family. The fams hasn't been on a real vacation in years, and this year we're going to Washington, DC... fun? Then there is Work. I love work! My boss says I'll be waitressing during the summer, so I am excited about that! I'll be working whenever I'm not doing anything else... haha? Then, of course, the Hanging With Friends Factor. That'll be fun, as always. =]

The fams hasn't been on a real vacation in years, and this year we're going to Washington, DC... fun?
I'd love to go to Washington D.C. I like visiting historical places, and I've never been there. The last time my family and I went on an actual vacation was when we last went camping, in PA, back in 2001. I miss camping, we did this alot when I was younger. Not in PA though, I didn't like it there. Anyway, this summer should be awesome. My little brother gratuates from high school this year, so that should be exciting. Which means my grandma will be coming to visit aswell. I haven't seen her in two years, for my gratuation. I am also planning a trip to Japan too. I'll be going with a group of ninjas, literally. A friend of mine went with them two years ago, and so she'll be going again. The instructor is a teacher at the high school we went too and he goes every year with some of his ninja students(of course he doesn't pay for there trip). To train with Soke Masaaki Hatsumi. Its Bujinkun ninjitsu that they do. So anywhoo, my trip will be from June 19 to July 3rd. I have already sent for my passport(expidited), so my next step is the plane ticket. I have been saving for this trip for months. I have been working at this job(in a warehouse) for a year and five months so far, and I'm not sure whether I'll quit, or try to get two weeks off. I have a week of vacation I can use, but an extra week is alot to ask, and I would have to let them know now. I am tired of the place, but the hours and pay is good for me at this point. We shall see. I'll also be training alot this summer; my black belt test will be in august, as long as I'm ready of course. So my grandma wants to come back and see this..I'm not sure I want an audience. XD Thats pretty much it I guess, aside from the usual summer activities, possible family reunions to attend, more working out, and such.
Minako
Well, this summer I landed the summer job of my DREAMS, working at a language camp teaching Finnish. After that (or before hand, I don't know) I'm going to go to Finland and China.(to visit my family and friends in Finland, and my dad in China) And also, HARRY POTTER.
Magus
Nothing. Well, hopefully I'll be doing something, but I have nothing planned as of yet. I guess, I'll be trying to stay cool. I get real cranky during the summer because I can't stand the heat, and I get very little sleep. So the first thing I can work on is getting an air conditioner. I have a window fan, but I have to worry about the mosquitos that would always get in. For a fun summer, like I said, I have nothing planned yet. Everytime I do plan on doing something, something else would come and hold me back from doing anything. (Especially around birthday time.) I am thinking about going to a casino for my birthday though. If I do, I wish that it'll go well. It's about time for me to get some type of luck coming through.
Nony
Hopefully, I'll have plenty of time in summer to relax. But not likely. Since I probably won't officially be off from school until mid-July, I'll spend the rest of summer finishing up the Latin 3 course, watching anime, reading manga; and then, for the grand finale, a job at the State Fair. But heck, it'll be a great summer in my book as long as it's cool out. XP
Panda
I just got back from a long weekend in Las Vegas. Vacations for me really isn't dependent on breaks from school anymore since college is but a distant memory. My next "vacation" is for Sakura-con in Seattle, Washington this next weekend then Anime Expo in Long Beach, California during the 4th of July holiday. Other than that I have nothing else planned. I may tag along with my hubby on a business trip or two, but that really isn't vacation. His next trip is in 3 weeks and he will be going to Tampa, Florida. IceRose
Well lets just say that summer is winter and winter is summer in Ecuador so I already had my summer I guess, well it was just two weeks and now I have to go back to school :animecry: besides from that, I just spend my days trying to get onto some business ventures like having my own bakery ad stuff, now I have to wait for the investor to arrive with the answer
animeniac41
This summer's gonna be aweosme for me! My biggest plans for the summer is the start of marching band season :animesmil :D Band is my life, I've been counting down the days until band camp finally comes, and from now on i'll know everyone (it was my first year in marching band last year) I'm sooooo excited, this year's show is awesome and I can't wait to get started! As for traveling, I won't be going anywhere exciting. The only kind of traveling that'll happen is camping :animesigh Something about being stuck in a camper with only my family for 3 days in the middle of who knows where, 5 weekends out of the summer, year after year, just doesn't excite me.... oh well, life goes on. I got a job a while ago, so maybe i can save up to get a car when I'm able to drive. Then I can drive myself everywhere :catgirl: And of course, i'll hang out with my friends, and get lots and lots of anime that everyone else but me has seen. Oh yeah, and reading manga :animesmil

Sandy
My summer plans are a bit uncertain at this point because of my problems with money, but I'm hoping for the best. The biggest plan is for me and my boyfriend to spend a week in Great Britain. We'll leave at the end of June and come back at the beginning of July. First we'll fly to Edinburgh and spend a few days there, and then we'll take a train to London, where we will go to see the guest premier of the movie Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. No, we won't actually be going inside the movie theater to see it, just outside to gawk at the actors and other celebrities going in. Not exactly my idea of fun, but I'll do it for my loved one... ;D Shortly after that trip, it's my granny's (the one who I lived with for most of my youth) seventieth birthday, which we will be spending on a spa with the whole family attending. Other than that, I'm hoping to get some work for June and the end of July, since my school starts earlier than usual, in the middle of August. Odds are against me, but as I said I'm hoping for the best. And of course I hope that this summer will be as hot and sunny as the one last year, so I can spend time on the lakeshore beach just a few hundred meters away from the appartment block I live in. And I need to get my bike fixed as well, so I can cycle around this area I live in, which is surprisingly beautiful in summer time, compared to the ugliness of it in winters. So there, let's hope this summer is good for all of us! ;D
Raiyuu
My plan is to spend this summer working - preferably doing some theatre or nightclub lighting, but I can't afford to be too picky - and earn enough money that I can go to Japan for an extended period next summer, when I've finished my degree. Also, Play Festival 2007! Just to indulge my pyromaniac side.
kalon
Due to our lovely school scheduling, we have June and July of, then we start back as soon as possible in August, usually registering somewhere in the middle of the last week of July. By school registration week, I hope to have written at least another three chapters of my novel. Summer for me will be all about sleep and writing. Other than that, my mom wants to go to the zoo in Nashville, and I want to go to the zoo in Memphis, so maybe we can do both. And then, also in Memphis, there's a My Little Pony convention coming up, and I want to see the cuteness. Possibly, I will go to California and spend time with relatives I have never been in contact with.
Patronus
Well, this summer, my sister is taking me to Disney World for my graduation present. I'm the only member of the family who's never been, so it's pretty exciting. I've always felt somewhat alienated because of that fact; they all went there before I was born, and then once I came along, it was like BAM!, we're not going anymore.
