TheResplendent
The months of May-August of 07 are indeed set to be a ravenous months for movie releases in theaters. A lot of anticipated releases, many of them being installments in already well established titles from the past, which we all know can either be really bad or pleasently surprising. Others, popular trailer picks that are anxiously being awaited for more detail. The more noteable titles include: May: -Spider Man 3 -Pirates of the Carribbean 3: At World's End -Shrek the Third June: -Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer -Oceans13 -Evan Almighty -DOA: Dead or Alive -Live Free or Die Hard July: -Transformers -Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix -The Simpsons Movie August: -The Bourne Ultimatum -Underdog -Rush Hour 3 -Halloween -The Last Legion Personally I am most excited about the releases of PotC3, Oceans13, and Spider-man 3 as I am a huge fan of Pirates 1 and 2 and Oceans11 and 12. Both titles being two my absolute favorites of all time. Also though i'm not as big of a fan of Spider-Man movie wise, I wish to see it because of my childhood love for the comic/cartoon. Which was also the reasons I saw the other 2 and almost every other comic book movie (though i did thoroughly enjoy the first 2 X-men movies and a good majority of the Batman movies). Other interesting ones to me include Live Free or Die Hard, though my hopes for it aren't as high in terms of how it can match up with it's predecessors, I love the series and will watch this one based on the fact that it is simply another Die Hard movie. Also Evan Almighty looks rather halarious, and looks to be very promising to Bruce Almighty fans and comedy fans alike. So I guess the big Q is, which ones are you looking most forward to?
Rachmaninoff
Probably the only one I'm looking forward to is Spider Man 3 since I really enjoyed the first two. I'll probably end up seeing the others since my friends and I end up going to the movies nearly every weekend. Hopefully at least some of them will be good. Dagger
I'm going to be all over PotC, and my roommate is a Spiderman fanatic, so those are the two I'm definitely seeing in theatres. I'll wait on reviews for Shrek 3. Anything after that... not so interested. ~Dagger~
Magus
The only movie I'm actually thinking about going to the theatre's to watch is Spiderman 3. Bourne Ultimatum and Rush Hour 3 will just have to wait until I actually see a preview or something. The other movies, bleh, I don't know, I haven't been interested in the rest of the movies just yet.
RobinWH
May will be a big movie month in my household cause we will be seeing ALL of those movies. Then I probably won't really see anything in the theater until July, when once again i will be seeing ALL those movies.
r2vq
My friends will want to see PotC3. We were big fans of the other two. My girlfriend will definately see to it that I'm dragged to Shrek the Third, since she was in love with the first two... and Puss in Boots. She'll probably want to see Rush Hour 3 as well. And because I'm a fan of the series, I'm going to see Spider-Man 3. Fantastic Four doesn't look as appealing, but it DOES have the Silver Surfer. Transformers will definately be seen by me, and the Simpsons Movie as well, even if they bomb. A movie that I really want to see but isn't on the list is Hot Fuzz. It's a little too early a release for a Summer Movie though. Didn't Dead or Alive come out a year or two ago? I swear I saw it on the Pay Per View channel. -r2

It's also on DVD in the UK, but I don't know for how long it's been available. the movies I have to see in theatres are Spider-man 3, the new FF, the new Pirates, and the Simpsons.Everything else will depend on whim and whether my friends drag me to one.
Nehszriah
I am geared up for PotC3, Shrek 3 and Transformers. I might see Harry Potter once it goes to the cheap theatre, but not when it first comes out. The story is going to be too butchered to waste my money on a good theatre to see it in. Ocean's 13 and the Simpsons movie look alright too. By the way, does anyone know why no one wants to tell me who the villian is in Spiderman 3? I mean, now I know, but every time I seem to ask people all I get in reply is "Oh, it's the movie where he gets his black costume." I think that was obvious enough. The black suit is the most emphasized part of all the trailers and previews so it makes sense for it to be the easiest way to identify the movie. You said you know who they are, but the newest trailer (that can be seen in the coming attractions for 300 I believe, and even if you havn't seen it then you can search for it or DL it just as easily) finally shows the
face of Venom
. Spoiler tags there just in case someone really doesn't wanna see.

It's just sort of sad how beeing geek is somewhat "chic", or at least filmmakers attempt to make it seem that way.
Nerdsy
There are, uh, three villians.
Venom, Sandman, and Harry Osborne in some kind of Goblin getup. I don't know if he's a new Green Goblin, or if he'll refer to himself as one of the others. Although I do find it unlikely he'll be the Demogoblin. ; )
Nehszriah
Thanks Nerdsy. I had a feeling
Harry Osborne would show up eventually and that Venom just makes sense because of the black costume, but knowing that Sandman is in there makes me feel a little better.
Don't know why, but it does. Claire
I'm most excited for the remake of Halloween, even though chances are I won't go to see it. I've been dying to see the original movie for quite some time now, though when I did get the chance to I decided it would be better if I didn't--I have to walk to my bus stop all by myself in the creepy darkness and I'm too paranoid already. I think Harry Osborne will just be a short lived variant of the Green Goblin's name. The Heart
(First post! *nervous*) Personally, I'm most excited for Pirates of The Caribbean 3, Spiderman 3, and Harry Potter 5. I've seen the rest of the movies in all three series and liked them, so why not? :catgirl:

It will be the first time the movie has beat me to reading the book... What do OBers think, should I try to read the novel of this movie first... or test watching a Potter movie wtihout the novel as background information in my head? -r2
SaiyanPrincessX
Hm, I'll see the following.. -Spider Man 3 -Pirates of the Carribbean 3: At World's End -Oceans13 (maybe, I hated the second one) -Evan Almighty (this is a possiblility, even though its not Jim Carrey) -Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix -The Simpsons Movie (well duh) -The Bourne Ultimatum -Rush Hour 3 -The Last Legion(I don't know much about this, but I read its an action, adventure, war genre, so it could be good) I also want to see Ratatouille.
Horendithas
Truthfully I'm not looking forward to any of them since nothing has really caught my interest lately. However, seeing that Rach and my other friends love movies, I'll probably end up seeing all of them since we usually go to one at least twice a month if not every weekend. Well other than Transformers. I never was a fan of that. So I have no intention of watching it.
Fyxe
I think the only thing I'm looking forward to is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, actually. I don't get much into movies unless I hear wind of Batman. However, I will probably get dragged along to Shrek 3 sometime soon, which I have no desire of seeing. Third time, in a movie's case, is not the charm. They really should have stopped at the second one. So far, from reviews/news from my friends, I've heard that this installment is just beating a dead horse. PotC 3 I'm not too excited about, either. I mean... I enjoyed the first movie, but the second movie just really turned me off. I'll still probably see it though, considering all of my friends love this series. So, we'll see how it turns out I guess. WHERE IS BATMAN?! Haha.
eleanor
I'm going to the midnight release of Order of the Phoenix, which will be very dorky and awesome. :) And the Ocean's franchise is just one I love. I even liked Ocean's 12, just because of that fun mood you get when you watch it. Hopefully Ocean's 13 will deliver just as well. And the Bourne Series... Matt Damon. Guh. He's so awesome in this series. But Pirates have never caught my attention. I didn't really enjoy the first one, probably because I saw the first half of the movie three times and then when I finally watched the end, it felt like a waste of time. Also, I seem to be the only woman alive that doesn't think Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom is hot.

I think Depp's a good actor but hot? Meh, not even close. And yeah I agree about Shrek, two was more than enough. I guess I should have mentioned in my previous post that I have no intention of seeing that one either.
2010DigitalBoy
I still have yet to see Hot Fuzz, and as a huge fan of Shaun of the Dead, i really want to see that damn movie! SotD did have the advantage of being a zombie movie, and I happen to be obsessed with zombies, but I've heard a thousand good things about this movie and i have faith in the directors and actors. I still haven't seen TMNT yet, which is important. I will probably end up seeing Pirates of the Carribean 3 at some point. I liked both of the first two, but i was never a huge fan. i think the second one ruined both for me. It's battle scenes were so good that it made the first movie's bad, but the first movie's story was so much better than the second, that it made the second one bad, so i really can't stomach either at this point, especially since they're so damn long. I will probably end up seeing Spiderman 3 too. Spiderman has never been my favorite superhero, and the crappy melodrama of the movies always threw me off, but they weren't all that bad anyway. Evan Almighty has to be good. i know my brother will want to see it, since he used to be obsessed with Bruce Almighty. i know it's not Jim Caarrey, but the replacement is just as good, if not funnier :p Also, Rush Hour 3. Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan never gets old, even though most of the recent Jackie Chan movies sucked, so we'll see how it goes.
araina rinu
well as far as movies go i am pot committed to go see potc3, but i just want to see it so i can know how the story ends. im pretty much obsessed with hot fuzz though, i went and saw it in theaters, twice. im buying it as soon as it comes out. now 2007digitalboy and i are very opposite on the shaun of the dead movie v hot fuzz. i would have liked shaun of the dead if it wasnt zombies, as i am terribly afraid of them, but hot fuzz, well i looooove cops lol. as for the other summer movies im looking forward to bourne ultimatum for sure, the first two were very much up my alley, so im excited, uh plus matt damon is my kind of spy. (james you are unfaithful to me so im sorry) shrek three will most likely be a rented one as i saw the first two. i saw spiderman 3 on a bus ride (dont ask) and i liked black spiderman better then the regular one, but i wont expand... the movie was okay, as long as you just viewed it as the end of the series and didnt have a ton of hopes for it. transformers, potter, and oceans will rent, and might see DOA if a certain friend decides we have to see it in theaters with our other friends...
