Spring/Summer Movie Madness

It's all about the Silver Surfer man... Even if he's completely invulnerable...

Evan Almighty looks totally predictable, and so does the fact that during the mediocre Shrek the Third previews, they GIVE AWAY THE FREAKING ENDING!

Of course, even if they gave away the bloody ending of Transformers, I will still be there, firecrackers in hand, to see OPTIMUS PRIME! WAH!

Like my dear wife I look forward to the next Transformers movie with the same anticipation I looked forward to the first one. Hopefully Michael Bay won't make a complete mess of it.

Who wants to see any of the movies when this is more entertaining?

In a strange weird way of course. Still perhaps I should break down and actually see Shrek 3. Or not.
I'm looking forward to Transformers.
Yeah, I think we all feel a little 'Mitch Slapped' with the way they have been marketing Transformers. Did anyone else see the MTV Movie awards? That thing was basically a three-hour long commercial for the movie, and it made me sick. The trailers and hype surrounding Transformers is pretty good, so I don't see why they need to shove it in our faces like a shirtless teenager or something.
I gotta see Busty Cops 88.[/b']
I haven't seen the trailers for that one yet, but it wouldn't surprise me. You make a really good point about how many sequels are in theaters this Summer. So far I've seen Shrek 3, Pirates 3 and Spider-Man 3, and they were all major disappointments.

There are some movies that just don't lend themselves well to sequels, there are more ways to capitalize on the success of a film than do a direct sequel. Knocked Up is a good example of this: it features much of the same cast and tone of The 30 Year-Old Virgin, but can definitely stand on its own.

Sadly the success of this Summer's sequels is probably just going to encourage Hollywood to go out and make more of them.

Shrek 3 was the best of the 'three-quels' so far, although I must admit that watching Mitch shirtless is probably a little bit more entertaining. There really wasn't anything spectacular about it.

This film felt like the one that was msot geared towards children, but it might just be because the plot was so simple and straightforward. The inclusion of the new characters was a mixed bag: I loved the snarky princesses. but hated Artie and Merlin. At least it tried to inject some life into the franchise, which is something you can't say for every sequel out there.

I have a list of movies I want to see that are coming out, but they're hard to find in Queensland. We have these crazy 'no XXX films to be sold' laws. I mean seriously, I bet even the Premier looks at porn. This is hypocrisy at it's finest.

Argh, Rush Hour 3 was in development hell for soooo long, it had better be good.

I saw Bruce Almighty before, which was pretty funny. I hope Evan does a better job with this movie than the first show, one part where he spazzed out during his news broadcast.
[b']But my parents saw pirates, they loved it!
Yeah, I don't understand why everyone is dissing this movie so bad. It's like they're going in expecting Godfather or something.

It's funny you and White should mention Mitch, as he personifies ridiculously high movie standards. I really don't understand why people want so much more than fun when they go into a movie. Let there be great, epic movies, and let there be popcorn flicks. It's all good.

And Dead brings up a good point. Why should we limit our summer enjoyment to these unending threequels? there are hundreds of movies out there we could rent, several thousand if we count porn. And even if porn is not available, there's still the internet, which usually costs less a month than a single movie ticket. And with all those shirtless hunks like Mitch out there, there's plenty to choose from.
Ah good point.[/B']
I always have good points regarding movies. I mean, they're one of my passions. Mind you, I'm not suggesting that we ignore the movies altogether; I'm just saying that if you don't like the movies this summer, you can always read a book instead of *****ing about it.

Does this mean you're looking forward to the next Ghostbusters movie as much as I am? I am totally stoked. I mean, it's not a summer release as far as I know, but it probably will be next year.

I can't wait to see Live Free or Die Hard. It looked so good on the trailer that me and my friends want to go see it. Pirates of the Caribbean was awesome. I loved how hot Orlando Bloom was throughout the entire movie. Gonna go watch it again! ^^ *runs to the car*
Transformers will rock the theaters!
Oh I definitely agree. While I don't remember a lot about the cartoon series, it was something I used to watch religiously as a child. Once you can get past the silly concept, I think Transformers is going to be a real crowd-pleaser.

My Grandma kind of wants to see it, so it looks like everyone from shirtless poets to 80-something grandmothers are excited about this movie. Hopefully the producers have been trying to make this a good film, rather than a two hour Dodge commercial.

I'm looking forward to it really, because Shia Labeouf is one of my favorite actors. Other than him being in the TF movie, I don't know what to expect. This movie has been in production forever....news started coming way back into 2005 and alot of last year's Summer. I might have to go see this movie, just because of SL. I went to see Disturbia and it was great, and I ish looking forward to this one.

P.S. I think that Jake Gyllenhaal is Spiderman's stunt double in SM3 lolz

P.S. I think that Jake Gyllenhaal is Spiderman's stunt double in SM3 lolz

It's funny how you brought that up, because I remember reading an article stating that Jake Gyllenhaal was going to be Spiderman if Tobey Maguire chose not to do Spiderman 3. Luckily Tobey returned for Spiderman 3, because I don?t think Jake can emulate Tobey?s funky dancing moves from that movie.

As for Shia Labeouf, I'm not to familiar with him, but like you, I'm looking forward to Transformers. Although the production to this movie may be taking forever, I have high hopes that this movie will meet fans' expectations. Hopefully the movie will have a lot of heart pounding action scenes to enjoy.

Oh man, I am most definitely looking forward to The Simpsons Movie, Transformers, Rush Hour 3 and Halloween! I already got plans for the TF movie (gonna see it in the drive-in with my brother). I'm also curious to see just how the remake of Halloween is going to be handled. They damn well better do a good job! >.<
