Aberinkula
OMG come on! I'm the only person who ever critiqued your work1 I was the guy who insulted you horribly then apologized and then you became, like, my pupil or something because you really liked my porn story! You don't remember any of that?! In any event, yes, considering that I post in the same threads, talk about the same stuff, and my profile was created the same day as my last post on the old title, it was not like i was hiding it. Besides, the same IP -- the mods knew anyway. (i assume?!) By the way, Rifles, how in gods name did you remember my name?! And no, I have obviously not grown up since the exact same people hate me for the exact same reasons, lol. The only difference is I don't spam lesbian pornography and my posts are longer, heh. And while on the subject, Tical itself is apparently a hard name to figure out. I actually had the nickname 'tickle' on another board because people thought that was how it was pronounced. (it's ty-call, for those still confused). But I dropped that title prmanently, which is why I even made this account in the first place...
Yeah that's you... I'm so blind, I couldn't see that in the first place, boy oh boy, I am so stupid. And of course I remember all that stuff, hell I just reflected on that stuff a week or two ago. Ah, yes, pupil. But Ithink you've grown up personaly.

TheResplendent
Yes, it has been awhile, sakurasuka. You all have such wonderful names. =] Anyway, since my name comes from the Filipino and Hawaiian language, most people in the US and here in the UK have a ultimately hard time pronouncing my whole name... and it's not even that difficult, really. My first name is Tiana, which is the Filipino part. You can imagine how many other different names people come up for me. Yo. What's your name? Tiana. Oh, okay. Hey, Ta-Tiana. Umm, no. There's no Ta before Tiana... just... Tiana. What? Taina, then? No. The I is before the A. Ti. A. Na. Uh... Tania? No! Tiana! TEE- AH- NA!! T-I-A-N-A!! TIANA!!! You can imagine how annoying it is to have your English teacher pronounce your name wrong everyday, even with me AND my English class reminding her. She still hasn't gotten it yet. -_- My middle name is the hardest for anyone to pronounce because it's Hawaiian. My middle name is Kawailehua, which means, "The radiant flower in the rain" or something like that. The W is pronounced like a V in the Hawaiian language, so it's more like Kavai. When I was young, I learned how to spell my name by thinking of Kawaii, so... yup. A normal conversation with my friends about my middle name. Hey, Tiana. What's your middle name again? Ahahaha, it's K- Wait! I remember it, just let me try to say it. Lol, okay. It's Ka...Kalehua. Nope. Keleiha? Nah. Kawelhu? Not even close. Fine then! What the crap is it?! Kawailehua. K-a-w-a-i-l-e-h-u-a. The W is pronounced like a V, remember? I knew that. Then, my first last name is Talbert, which is my mom's side of the family's name. It's special to me, so my parents let me keep it. No one usually gets it wrong, unless they say Tallbert or something really unique. And finally, my last last name (lol) is Lovett, which is my step dad's side of the family. He adopted me and my sister, so we got his last name. I really love it because, well... it's Lovett! A lot of people like to make fun of me and saying that I Loveit! or something. Well... my whole name is: Tiana Kawailehua Talbert Lovett. I love it because it's so unique and has different languages in each name. That name's going on my High School Diploma when I graduate soon... I can imagine it taking up all the free space and our announcer pronouncing it wrong, lol.
I think your middle name wins the award for most understandable name mess up thus far. Think i'd just call you TK. =)
Raiyuu
Keep all the "ZOMG 2007DB iz acksherly Tical Blue" confined to PMs please, people. I'm happy to say I've never had trouble with my name: Matt. One syllable, fairly common, difficult to get wrong (although some people insist on spelling it with one T like I'm some kind of prima donna, that's a teensy problem compared to some of you guys...). So yeah. Thank you parents, for giving me a normal name.
SunfallE
I don't have problems with people saying my name wrong, what I do have a problem with is people instantly changing it to a nickname. It's like it's too hard to say Elizabeth, they have to call me Liz. :animesigh So my answer to that was to start going by Beth, which I did when I was twelve. And so far no one has managed to mess up Beth. I've gone by Beth for 24 years now so in many ways I don't even consider Elizabeth my name anymore, other than on legal papers and such. I've often thought of legally changing it to Beth since that's how I think of myself. My last name doesn't get mangled either, but as for spelling it. No one every gets it right. lol
Sakura
I think my name is the easiest one and I don't remember it ever being mispronounced except for people not understanding over a fuzzy phoneline: Mary. I feel that it's a common name but I can't really find many people around with it. Though with this name I do get all the nursery rhymes >.> eg: "Mary had a little lamb...", "Mary, Mary, quite contrary...", "Hey Mary, Mary Christmas" and lately one of my friends has taken up putting this together; "Mary, Mary, quite contrary, eating your curds and wey." It really does get old, and starts getting a little weird after a while because they try to create new ones.
Dodeca
Wow, some of you really do have it hard. KW, your middle name... wow, what a whopper, though a particularly cool one, to be sure. If I ever have kids, I'm planning to give them one heck of a hard time with their names. Y'know, to make up for my parents' total lack of imagination with mine. Provided that their mother agrees, that is. Which she will, because they're super names. Fan-frickin'-tastic names, even. ... "What's your name, boy?" "Z-Zephyn..." "...Stefan?" "Urgh...Zephyn, sir." "..." "..." "You must be joking." "I wish, sir." Dear lord, I do hope she'll agree with me. :animesigh
Fyxe
I can't help but wonder how you of all people are the first one to say anything O_o
Actually, I believe I was the first one to say anything. :) My name is pretty easy. Claire. It's not a very common name around my area, but, it's very simple. I usually have no one that has troubles with pronouncing it, but a lot of people don't know how to spell it. They always leave out a letter. Like they spell, "Clare" or "Clair"... and, on rare occassions, they don't know if I'm a girl or a boy by looking at my name. Because, apparently, Claire is a unisex name. Whatever. It's actually really funny, because my last name is even simpler than my first. But people don't seem to get it. It's Jacobmeyer (oops, probably shouldn't put my full name on here, because of those things I've heard so much about... you know.. online predators. Oh well.) and anyway... people constantly seem to think Jacob is my middle name, and that Meyer is my last name. This especially gets out of hand at the library. They'll ask me for my name if I forget my card, so this is how the conversation usually goes: "Name?" "Claire Jacobmeyer." "So would that be under M?" "... Jacobmeyer?" "I don't need you're middle name, dear... Strange, you're not under M... are you sure you have a card?" "No... it'd be under J..." "What would?" "... My last name. It's Jacobmeyer. It's all together." "Oh..." Bleh, haha. And then people never know how to spell it. Like, they spell it, "Jakobmeyer" or "Jacobmyer" or "Jacob-meyer" (because they don't seem to get that I don't have two last names, you know...). Ah well, whatever. :P
nekoconeko
My name's pretty easy: Nora. I'm the only student 'Nora' at my school w/ the name. But, I've been called 'Laura' and 'Mora' instead of 'Nora'.
Hylian
My name is Jordan. You'd think that would be easy to remember..but I guess not. Because soooooo many people when they first meet me call me Justin or Jacob...OMG ITS SO ANNOYING! heh >_>. It really is though...it makes you feel like no one remembers you. And some people try to spell it Jorden or Jordon >_>. It's JORDAN! lol. My last name is really uniqe. Fruin. Easy to pronounce - Fru in. Just like its spelt. But apparently no one can pronounce it lol. I have heard Froin frun and all sorts of stuff >_>. My middle name..well no one knows my middle name ^_^ lol. pooperson
I would like to begin by quoting Simpsons Episode 8F10:
Marge: What about Bart? (as a name) Homer: Let's see... Bart, Cart, Dart, Eart... Nope, can't see any problem with that!
I believe that's what my parents were thinking... Marta. Arta, Barta, Carta, Darta, Earta... no problem! When I was little, I used to get called the "F" word repeatedly, in cases such as, "Hey! Did you know your name rhymes with FARTA? FARTA MARRRRRRRRTA!!!!!". It sucked. Then the situation died down for about 10 years, and this year (as a junior in HIGH SCHOOL) my new friends realized the rhyme and now call me that. Not gonna lie - it sucks. Also, when I'm on the phone, people think I say "Marsha". NO. "Marta" is NOT: Marsha, Marcia, Maria, Marla, Mara, Marge, etc. It's quite irritating. And now the last name. Vitolins. Vee. Toe. Linz. Not that harder - in fact, quite easier than its actual Latvian pronunciation [Vee-twa-LEENCH]. But instead, no one can read it, and very few people can write it. Instead, I and my familty get Viotolins, Vitilins, Vitolons, Violin, VISTOLA, etc. Plus, coming from a group of band nerds as friends, every day someone new tells me that my last name is only one letter away from "violins" and that I should have played that instead of the trumpet. Go die.
Guest Lemming
I get "Dr. Livingstone, I presume" a lot. Even though my last name is Livingston. Speaking of which, people spell it Livingstone all the time, it's really annoying.
Venge
My last name is Duffey. D-U-F-F-E-Y. I can't tell you how many times my last name has been spelled wrong. Its even spelled wrong on my diploma for entering high school! (Not sure if all schools do that...) Every time I see my name spelled like that, it irritates me to the point that I want to beat some sense into them seeing as how 90% of the worlds population lacks it...anyways, a common misspelling of my last name is 'Duffy'. Yes, like the actor Patrick Duffy. And when someone references me to him, I want to smash their skull in with their own stupidity. But, I do have a lot of nicknames due to my last name...here are some examples: Duff Master, Big D, Duff Man, Duff Beer, Duffmeister, Scruff McDuff (a seething hate filled name I want to destroy). One small event about my middle name, Wayne, was during my senior year. One of my friends noticed I draw a lot of anime style stuff. So he thought my middle name was 'Wang', thinking I was part Chinese or something. XD I wasn't mad though, I just thought it was hilarious as hell. A common misconception when people think with their eyes and not with their ears. I haven't had any problems with my first name, which is Matthew. I do get called variations of my first name, like Matt, Matty, or my girlfriends favorite version, Matty-chan. ^_^
Gavin
Gavin reminded me, one problem I get is what I call the "K name syndrome" where I say my name and people interpret it as a wide range of other K-names before deciding I said "Kenneth". I'm not sure if my name is that flexible or if people need to get their hearing checked.
I've had the same problem, any name beginning with "G" and being roughly five to six letters long is an acceptable substitute for mine. Gareth, Gary, Graham, etc being the worst offenders.
Ezekiel
The pronounciation of my name isn't ever what people have a problem with--they just don't believe it's my name. I'm the only female Jamie in my school, as far as I know, and given that I have the spelling usually associated with males doesn't help. (The feminine form usually being Jaime, but pronounced the same.) The best incident to illustrate this was my French teacher at the start of the year, where she called my name off the register and despite my frantic hand waving refused to acknowledge I was Jamie until I shouted it at her. She said she was looking for a boy, and asked if Jamie was shortened from anything. My friend Ramzi also thought it was short for Jamelia. (But who is he to talk, with a name like Ramzi Mechergui?) The surname isn't too much fun either, but one deals with it. Like Dodeca, I plan on giving my kids really awkward names that they'll hate me for throughout most of their young lives. I'm sure they'll appreciate it in the long run, though.
Ol' Fighter
Well I see a lot of you have a lot of trouble with your names well mine is just annoying...my full name is Martel Leon Cowart now the problem isn't in the 'Martel' or 'Leon' it's my last name 'Cowart'. Most people just pronounce it 'Coward' no people it's not 'Coward' it's 'Cowart' like 'court' a simple mix-up but it's quite vexing...
Raina
I'm not sure if I should write something in this thread. ^^' I might just confuse people. ^^" My name is simple yet complicated. (I'm already confusing everyone, aren't I? ^^') I still haven't met anyone who could say my name properly without my help. My name's Asuya. Usually people call me Asya. Which ever's "easy" for them. "Asya" means "Asia" in Turkish. But you can't write "Asya" in Japanese, so my parents had 5 choices: Asaya; Ashiya; Asuya; Aseya; Asoya. Looking at those choices, I'm glad that chose Asuya. ^^" But see? I always have to explain my name. My name's really similar to Asuka from Evangelion. Just a "y" instead of a "k". It should be easy, but no~! No one gets it right. Here are some of the things I've been called: Ashuya; Ashuwa; Asheiya; Ashuyo; Asuwa: Asewa; Asuka; Asia; A; Ashu; Azya; Azeya; Azuwa; Ajuwa; Ashuka; Azeya; Asiya; Asuma... And I'm sure there are more that I can't remember... Some of the people who got my name wrong: family members; teachers who've known me for over 1 year; friends who've known me for over a year... Also, "ya" in Japanese is used at the end of boy names... So people have thought that I'm a guy... Or that my name's my surname...

outlawstar69
I have an Arabic name as well, and have long given up hope that it will ever be pronounced right, on someone's first try. "Taurik", which is how my mom decided to spell it, is pronounced "Tar-rick" -- yet, no matter how many times I correct people, they can't wrap their tongues around it... both in high school and in college.
