[color=blue]Welcome all students to the academy. Here you will all learn how to fight, use, and master your keyblades and magic. You are the last hope for this war. Use this place to post questions about the RPG.[/color]

[color=dimgray]But mostly we will discuss the various objectives in the story. Each chapter will feature a different objective and sub-objectives to complete. Now you don?t have to finish all of them, they?re just side quests.

Objectives are certain tings you or all of you will have to accomplish. When finished I shall cross them out from the checklist. Chapter one isn?t big, but it will be a major event for now.

Spars are fights that two characters go through. Spars aren?t the way OB has them, Spars are regular battles where no one dies at all. Mostly fights for the story.

Now these are the newest features of this rpg. I ask that you create a second character because of our small numbers. Here?s the big thing. 3 characters will die. I hold the jurisdiction. Now who died depends on there role. If three major I will kill them off, or if the poster isn?t posting greatly.

Also I will turn 2 people into either a heartless or a nobody. That is determined the same way as character death.[/color]

One who was challanged goes first.
Challenger 1 goes second.
Challenger 2 goes last.[/COLOR]

How soon do you want second characters? I'm not really sure what I want to do for one, as I'd only had serious ideas for Kenso.

After we get into the villains and monsters, I will put up teh first one to die, and they will post how.

This is just an idea I'm throwing in to the air, one that you can either catch or let fall. But I think it would be intresting to have a bit of a love triangle between Galian, Kenso, and Dawn. To break it down, Dawn has already established a liking of Kenso and he has shown little intrest. Yet your character Galian has yet to make a desicion so I was think maybe, since Dawn doesn't really have an intrest...yet...that Galian could show some intrest whilst Dawn keeps going towards Kenso, somewhat unaware of Galian, as Kenso is unaware of Dawn's feelings. [COLOR=Navy][SIZE=1]As a head's up, I'm gonna be making Nephilim's Heartless twin my other character. Since there won't be any heartless battles for a while yet, he/she might not make an appearance for a bit.

Needless to say, there will be much fun to be had when Nephilim and her twin meet up.

Oh, and I'm working on a drawing of Nephilim, so everyone can visualize her better. I'll have it up tomorrow.[/SIZE][/COLOR]

[size=1]Gimme some time on posts. It's barely been two days. I can't necessarily post every day. It doesn't mean I'm not going to post.

On a side note, if someone wants to pick up Mira as their secondary character, it might make character interactions that much more interesting. I would, but I wouldn't know where to start on playing from a female point of view. The only things I have really established for Mira are her looks, so it's pretty much free anything. ((Well, that and she's only about average intelligence and skill. She sticks out more because she's a pretty face than because she excels. Of course, Tempest has done quite a good job of starting to give her some personality, and I'm actually hoping Tempest will pick her up.))

I'm also all for at least Kenso/Dawn, if not a Kenso/Dawn/Galian triangle, but remember that no one has clearly chosen whether their light or dark, and that could make a huge difference all by itself (though I do technically know where Kenso's going).

[/size][size=1]Ushima's post has just pointed out a severe problem here. How much control of our characters are we giving up in a spar? Kenso would not have done ANYTHING Ushima posted him as doing. I understand that we give up some control of our characters to other people in most RPs on OtakuBoards (something I'm still adjusting to and am not certain I'm particularly fond of), but there has to be a limit somewhere.

I'm also curious as to how Domsu blocked an attack he couldn't see (as Ushima specifies that he opens his eyes AFTER the attack).

On top of that, how are we going to determine the winner of a spar? Posting quality, or what? By story, at least right now, Domsu is already screwed in this battle, as he's battling the two top students in the school.

I'm just trying to get a better grasp on how things are handled around here, as this RPing is in a style I'm not 100% used to.

As far as I'm concerned, or at least by my style of RPing, you're always going to have to accept other people having a certain level of character control being in other peoples' hands (otherwise there would never be any character interaction.) Then again, typical RPs for me involve three-page-plus posts, so there might be a difference in RP style going on there.

I'm not seeing exactly where Ushima 'screwed up' on your character, though. Unless there's some glaring error he made right at the beginning that I didn't notice, because the rest of his post pretty much focused on Premonition's character.

And as for blocking attacks with your eyes closed...well, that's a little something called 'style factor', and it is crucial in most anime-themed writing, regardless of how unlikely it actually is in real life. ;)

I guess ultimately sparring comes down to how well OTHER people can pull off your character's battle style. There are some things you'll just have to accept, otherwise it's unfair.[/SIZE][/COLOR]

Dude, just reply it doesn't really matter the great thing about RPGs is that its not just one person devolping your character its everyone. I mean there's been plently on times where my characters have been so driven off their planned course thatI don't even reconginze them. But, hey, thats the fun part. You just have to go in with an open mind and be ready for change.

This system is new to me. And as such, it does mean something to me when a character with a definite fighting style (which has nothing to do with development within the story in the first place) is completely ripped from it. So I want to know exactly how this is going to work. It's not that hard of a question to answer, but it doesn't appear as though it's going to be.[/size]

I can understand what you mean by not being used to this RPing style as I've been a member of a site with RPGs like the one your taking about. I just couldn't find pleasure in the waiting for someone to post for thier reply. The RPG's noramally consist of many pages of text between two people, and yeah not much fun.

And I also feel like OB cares about their members and don't let their admins go crazy with power...to much...It's much more eaiser for me and evently you in this style of RPGs. Its more like a story with many authors.[/COLOR] [/SIZE]

[COLOR=Navy][SIZE=1]In regard to this whole confusion regarding what style of fighting we're each used to, perhaps it would be prudent to provide a link to another RP we've participated in, to demonstrate what each of our ideas of fighting is?

As far as me, the most successful RP I've ever been in was .hack//TRUTH, which is still going (albeit really slowly), and that posting style offered each of us considerable (read: almost unlimited) control over each-others' characters. Here's an example:

OK, I really need to make a second chara...I'll probably get on that today.

Anywho, I've been going to post, but something kept throwing me off, and I couldn't figure out what. It just hit me now. In the post for Galian, he feints like he's going for Kenso, but then sends the blade at Domsu. Then its mentioned that blade[b]s[/b] (emphasis on plurality here) are underground. Then Domsu gets slammed in his post.

My question is: What did Galian actually do? The end of the post sounds like he's gunning for Kenso with multiple blades, but nothing implies he veered the first blade away from Domsu, or that he summoned a second one at all.


On a side note: Galian did not get hit with a blade at all. Kenso is in a gunner drive form.

Additionally: Do drive forms change our outfits so it's obvious or what?

the blade going for Kenso was an distraction to attack Domsu. Domsu's blades arn't completely underground. just prat of the shaft to deploy a shield, which broke.

Whtats going on with Kenso and Galain, I dont know. What they do is up to them.
