Now, your first job as the newly reformed team is to repeat the process that you did in the first challenge. This is...

[center][size=5]Seventh Challenge: Teaming Up Again![/size][/center]

You know how this goes. What I want from you is:
[indent][B]1.[/B] A suitable new name for your team.
[B]2.[/B] A color to represent your team, but it cannot be [COLOR=DarkRed]Dark Red[/COLOR], [COLOR=DarkOrange]Dark Orange[/COLOR], [COLOR=Green]Green[/COLOR] or [COLOR=Blue]Blue[/COLOR].
[B]3.[/B] A flag for your team, which shows both the name and the color of your team.
[B]4.[/B] A strong captain to lead the team, to make the toughest of choices, to report to me and to decide on tie situations in voting.[/indent]

When you're done, the new captain should post the results into the main thread, just like the last time.

This time around, no one will get evicted, but there will still be a reward for the team that comes up with the more creative, unique and fitting features for them. The winners will get to [B]choose the pairs[/B] for the next challenge, which will be a [B]one-on-one duel[/B].

[FONT=Tahoma]Well, there are some familiar faces in here for me, I believe the only one of the group I don't know all that well is Shy. Looks like the competition begins anew.

Guess I'll start things off, using the format of the first challenge...it would be best to treat it just like the first challenge in every aspect to ensure that it is recognized that we are taking it seriously. At least i'll go ahead and toss an intro in there since I didn't really do one for when I was brough over to the Titans (so there's nobody from my starting team currently in this one), though according to the specified guidelines of this challenge it isn't required.


[b]1)[/b] Just call me Matt, I am 21 years of age from New York.

-Despite my strengths reading out only Creative Writing and RPGs, I also believe that my strength in writing transliterates easily to my skills in speaking, and therefore I can debate as easily in writing as I can through words. Thus I feel my strengths lay with anything involving my imagination, articulation, and logical deduction and reasoning. Aside from those, based on the standards of how our strengths should be measured according to the OBS4 system, I am also essentially strong in Video Games (RPGs, FPS, and Fighting Game specialist). My weaknesses are indeed anything that involves taking physical action in art (drawing, painting, even gfx). While I have an appreciation for good art, I simply cannot make it myself no matter how hard I try.

-I am a college student, majoring in Film and Media, minoring in Psychology. I typically enjoy my classes, especially if they are psych classes. I'm currently under consideration for a position as a CUNY (City University of New York) college assistant.

[b]2)[/b] I think our first order of business should be abolishing our atrocious default team name. Just based on the members we have and whatever else, i'll throw out a couple of suggestions to get the ball rolling so we don't spend too much time on it:

-[b]The Resilience[/b]: Because in essence we are the "leftovers" of the team make-up of the ex-mercenaries. This title will represent our intent to overcome the underdog marker places on our heads and bounce back at full speed to take control.
-[b]The ACES[/b]: Little play on words, The [u]A[/u]: American [u]C[/u]: Canadian [u]E[/u]: European [u]S[/u]: Superpowers. Taken from the diversity in our member's areas of residence.

Personally, i'm fond of #1.

[b]3)[/b] We have quite a lot to choose from even with the four previously chosen colors out of the picture. My suggestion goes to good ol [color=teal][b]Teal[/b][/color]. Why? I dunno, I think it looks cool.

[b]4)[/b] This section has to do with the finalized flag, we'll cross this bridge when we get to it. We have a good number of exceptionally talented GFX artists amongst our ranks, so we should really come out looking good for this part.

[b]5)[/b] Team Captain, guess we can just do this by voting. Say who you think will make a good captain, and we'll go with majority votes.

[size=1][b]1)[/b] My name is Josh and I'm a [i]22[/i] year old (just had my birthday) college student from Southern California. My interests include writing, comic books, journalism, video games, history, pop culture and just about anything nerdy. I have no specific career goals right now, but I would like to have my writing published in some form or another. I have had my writing published before in my high school and college newspapers, but I'm trying to set my sights for something with a wider audience. I'm majoring in English with a minor in American Studies. Sadly this means that I'll probably end up teaching.

I'm co-running [url=http://www.orangelazarus.net]OrangeLazarus.net[/url], a pop culture website, with my friend Tony, and while updates are fairly infrequent we're working very hard to make the site the best we can. To be honest, I'm spenidng much more time playing Pokemon these days than I am writing, but at least my Crobat is level 55(!)

I've had quite a bit of interaction with the members of this team, the sole exception being Matt. Hopefully we can change that before everyone becomes really competitive and turns against one another.

[b]2)[/b] The Aces seems like a good team name, and I'm struggling to find a more suitable one. Perhaps we could give the team a playing card/casino theme that we could somehow tie into the team banner? I'm very open to suggestions, though.

[b]3[/b] If we're sticking with 'The Aces,' I think using [color=red][b]red[/b][/color] or [b]black[/b] would be the most fitting.

[b]4)[/b] Three of the five of us have moderator experience, and because of that I'd rather give Tiana or Matt a chance in the leadership role. Tiana did a fine job with Team Argo, but I'd like to see what Matt can do with our new team. He has my vote!

But I think [b][color=red]The Lucky[/color][color=black] Spades[/color][/b] sounds neater. Up to you, though. Also I vote Matt as Team Captain, aswell. He did just fine for the Titans.

[SIZE=1]Well, White, you're an artist too so we could all design a flag and Team Vote. Though I'm tempted to sit this one out, as my flag for Team Argo wasn't so great.

I'm fond of [COLOR=Red]The Aces[/COLOR]. I read the suggestion last night and after sleeping on it I've grown rather fond of it. Lucky Spades suggests that we're, well... lucky, rather than a powerful team. Aces is more certain.

I, too, vote Matt for [strike]President[/strike] Team Captain, he was a very good leader for us and I have great confidence in him.

As for myself, there isn't much to tell as I've been in a team with everyone here. (Save Tiana, but she probably read my intro anyway in Team Argo's old thread).[/SIZE]

[FONT=Tahoma]The Aces seem to be popular, and the [color=red][b]red[/b][/color] and [b]black[/b] colors definitly go better with that. Plus I think the other team intends on taking teal or some golden color. What would be really cool is if Sandy allowed us to be represented by both colors, and have them in our flag as well as our team name mixed in the colors whenever mentioned (T[color=red]h[/color]e [color=red]A[/color]c[color=red]e[/color]s). The only thing I think this would be a pain in the ass in is if we had to do a certain challenge in which we have to post in our team color (though a way around that could be that we alternate between the two colors). I guess when Sandy sees this he'll make a judgement on that.

Also concerning the flag, I think it would be ideal if two of you (out of White, Zeke, and Tiana) made seperate designs and the remaining three of us will vote on which one we'll use in the team thead after the banners are PMed.

Also I say thanks to everyone so far for putting their confidence in me for being team captain, I enjoyed being captain of The Titans and will gladly do my best for this team. Of course unless Tiana has an overwhelmingly strong objection against this :P.

I definitly want to go all out for this challenge so we can set ourselves up to draw first blood. Hopefully nobody on the team has gotten too bored of the game to the point where they won't put much effort in. The ex-mercenaries greatest strength was how active they were in every challenge, so it would be in our best interest to make sure we can contest that. It doesn't neccesarily mean posting a hundred times everyday at every hour, but simply making sure that everyone can put their effort into every challenge.[/FONT]

And I also thought of something else. Instead of naming our team after what we all are individually (i.e. we're all aces, so we're The Aces) why don't we get a term that describes us as a team. So like a group of Lions is a Pride... what about Team Pride? Something to think about.

[font=tahoma]That's what I was going for when i suggested The Resilience, plus I thought the meaning was quite fitting.

As for adjectives along with a team name, i've never been a fan of that sort of thing in general, the whole one worded team name sounds much more official and works well enough without a description, which is why it's important to think of a meaningful name. It was like how I told Mary back during the era of the 4 teams, while I was still on the LOLs: [i]"Speaking completely objectively here, please do not let your team end up calling themselves The Nifty Titans"[/i]. No offense intended toward those who supported it of course. Not saying it's a losing formula all the time, but it's gotta be something really cool to work out. Like [b]The Smoking Aces[/b] (yeah, I know...but it gets across the point :p).[/font]

[font=tahoma]I thought it was a rather good movie >.>, but anyway it was just an example of one that works out a little better then most would. It wasn't actually up for consideration unless for some reason it was highly preferred.

I'll cast a tie breaking vote for classic red, for various reasons including how much easier it would make the flag design in terms of color, since it's the most basic red color of the group. Also it's much easier to differentiate between it and the ex-mercenary's dark red. I apologize BTW for the horrendous quality of that crimson color, it looked much better off of the site I got it from :animeswea

I think Tiana's would look great if the image were sharpened, and 'The Aces' were written in black test instead of white. The red completely overtakes the second banner, and changing the text color would add some much needed balance to it.

So that's my opinion. Both look great, though.

[font=tahoma]Tiana, I agree with Shy on this. Could you by chance send a copy to us with black text? If it fits as well as i'm thinking, then I too would say that Tiana's banner is quite fitting. Though i'd like to compare them side by side once the edit is made and then i'll cast judgement. I do think that Zeke's flag portrays the colors a bit better though too. Since it's a current tie, i'd like to take a little more time before i make a judgement.

Sandy didn't designate us a deadline, but as soon as the banner is decided we're pretty much good to go, so it shouldn't take long.
