This thread is for all you motorist otakus out there to show off your ride, if you have any pride, in it. :)

My car is a Mazda Familia Astina hatchback, year 1991. It's not a pimped out bling-mobile, but I'm hoping that I'll be able to get some accessories for it one day. It is a V6 Engine with manual transmission. This is all I know about it's specs since I'm not well versed in that area.

Here are the pics:

Sorry to hear about your ride. But that rent-a-dragon sounds cool. I bet it saves on gas too.

Okay I have a dope ride... I have a 2003 olds Alero 4 door, bright red and it has a CD player and a car seat! Yeh! That's really pimped out!

Now I need pictures.

In term-time, while I'm living at university, I drive a (now slightly rusting) sunburst-yellow Raleigh Avalanche that I've had since I was about twelve, yay! It still serves me well.

Then during the holidays I get the use of the family car, a navy blue Peugot 106 Zest. I didn't like it much when I started driving it because the accelerator felt really floppy compared to the car I took my test in, but I'm used to it now. And in fact the family just bought a new car, so I'll have more or less exclusive use of the 106 during the holidays (until my brother learns to drive, which is looking dangerously close).

Don't know what a 106 looks like? Click! Except mine is much darker blue.

I drive a white 1999 Pontiac Grand Am. I love meh car. I bought it in late July last year, $5,000. It had about 75,800 miles on it at the time.

Since I've got it the only major problem I've had so far(knock on wood), was with the alternator. But thats fixed. Aside from that the clock occationally doesn't work, and the blinkers won't work randomlly sometimes. But I've heard its an electircal problem that occurs with these cars.

I would be driving my '97 Vauxhaul Corsa if the timing belt hadn't snapped and bent the valves of the second and third cylinders of the engine when it did. My bro and some friends of his are looking into possibly repairing it but I'm not too optimistic about it. On the prowl for new wheels now!

Maybe I'll get pics if I'm not still depressed about my lack of a ride and my abundance of college work. ¬_¬

Can this thread contain Motorcycles too? Cuz right now...that's kind of the only (factual) ride I have. I have CRF Honda right now....ah...it's beautiful really.... The engine has been tuned..so it's louder and more POWER-PACKED, along with the mud and stains going down the side....it's like the perfect ride.

If all goes well, I'll inherit my sister's car:

No, that's not the exact car, but it's the same model (2004 Toyota 4Runner). And just as pretty. :)

Look at this bad boy. This thing even comes with your own personal driver.

Yeah I'm stuck with it until I get a car :animecry: This reminds me i need to get a job this summer to try to get one.

You and I have the same ride desertphoenix. Unless my parents are being generous and letting me borrow theirs. Though I also use the light rail system we have here in SLC, UT as well. I suppose it would help if I hadn't used my savings to buy a really nice cello. I could have bought a car with what I spent on it! Well an older used car that is. And it doesn't help that I'm looking into eventually getting a better instrument in the future. So hurray for public transportation!

ha, very funny.

if I can not afford my own car, I'll wind up driving either:

this snazzy 1986 Toyota Celica Supra [albeit different paint job, and possibly runs better too]:

or this car that sits in my garage and is rarely used by my father, a 2006 Volvo S40[again, a different paint job and different engine setup]:

Lunox, I hope you're planning on driving that tank in an urban environment. You know they tune the suspension on 4x4s so if you run over a queue of toddlers on their way to preschool, you won't even feel it?

Ah, the what do you drive question. Well until a few years ago I drove this:

Since I worked for Swift Trucking and delivered stuff along the west coast of the US.

But now that I'm not driving truck anymore I drive this:

A white 96 Geo Prism that I bought used. Now the picture is from earlier this year since I can't find my camera to take a new one at the moment. But I'm sure this one will do. ^_~

Anyway, it's a fantastic car that's extremely reliable. I've never had issues with it and it gets good gas mileage which is a definite plus in my opinion. I'll probably have it five to ten years later since even though it has over 114,000 miles on it, they've been well rated for being dependable. And since I drove a truck for a long time, which by the way you do daily inspections of your vehicle as well as the engine, my car will probably go for a long time since I always maintain what ever vehicle I am driving. Checking it on a regular basis when ever the ride feels off.

Between the previous owner, who was my brother, and myself it's had little to no repairs done, it hasn't needed it. In the three years I've had it I've had to put new tires and a new battery in it. In short I love my car. :catgirl:

This reminds me of my dad's truck. He has a huge 1986 Ford. He bought it before we moved here, so we drove it; towing his race car from Arizona to here. That thing is getting so rusted out, and has problems once in awhile. The miles are somewhere in the 300,000 range. Its been around for a long time and still going.

Well my ride is this:

The light rail system that runs through parts of downtown Salt Lake City, Utah and south through a number of the other surrounding towns. But more importantly, in my case, just a few blocks from where I live. It also conveniently runs directly to the University of Utah where I'm a student. The service runs every fifteen minutes so you never have to wait very long, and unlike buses it gets the right of way over traffic lights so it's quicker.

Eventually I want to get a car, but right now it just seems like a waste of money when this is so close and convenient. And the last couple of years the state of Utah has had a deal where having a student ID gets you a year pass to ride them for free. So no upkeep required, no being gouged by gas prices, getting caught in traffic, etc. Definitely a great deal if you ask me.

Oh and that's not a joke with the name on it. Sandy is the end of the line as it's one of the towns south of Salt Lake City. ;)
... if the timing belt hadn't snapped and bent the valves of the second and third cylinders of the engine when it did...
Haha, oh my God that sucks.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Edition 4x4. 123k on it, and it is funnnn to drive. Rain, mud, blacktop, children, nothing throws off the Green Machine. It's like the Hulk on four wheels.

Or at least it would be if I had the locking hubs for the 4x4 powertrain. So it will have to be like the...Stephen Colbert on four wheels. But it's good. Need a new sound system in it because over the years it has gotten blown out several times. Still has a tape deck, but I've got one of those little converters so I can hook up my MP3 player. No need to have a USB port in the dash. I'm not that sophisticated. It gets...average gas milage for it's make and age...13.8 miles to the gallon.

But she's still fun to ride...
So's the car, ZING!
