Pi: *checks his scope* Okay...there doesn't seem to be anyone peeking through. Siren: We stick to the plan...move towards the ducts underwater and exit through there. Liam: Some of us can't swim... Iris: *raises hand* I can sorta...but not deep... Siren: Sh-t... Chole: C'mon, don't tell me you didn't anticipate this. Siren: I did...but we can be creative... Pi: Like? Siren: Someone pair up with Iris and give her breaths and swim for her to the surface. Rev: That's not a bad idea.... Siren: It's safer than getting shot up once we reach the surface. Iris: Be sure to give me breaths! I can't hold mine that long, being a deer. Chole: Okay, got it... [i]Iris jumps on Chole's back without difficulty. Iris didn't weigh that much, nothing Chole couldn't handle. She wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs hung behind him.[/i] Siren: hehe, cute. Chole: Umm...okay, Ready? Iris: Okay. [i]Chole slowly dips into the water, careful to keep Iris' head above.[/i] Chole: Uhh...it is cold! Iris: Don't let me down. Chole: Let's get out as soon as possible. Pi: Night's waiting for us just under the struts...none of the inhabitants go there since it's tricky. Meaning, it's freezing...but we can keep warm. Siren: Let's go! [i]Siren dives under, followed by Pi, Liam, and Rev.[/i] Iris: Go Chole! Before they leave us! He started swimming toward it, kicking, careful not to hit Iris. The others passed by him and surrounded them, protecting them from something up ahead.[/i] Chole: (Damn...I wonder what it is?) Iris: (It's probably nothing...don't get me hyped up...I might drown...) [i]Chole swam higher, trying to get a better view...he couldn't see anything except the group and Siren in the lead. Then it hit him...the group was waiting for him to swim in between them.[/i] Iris: (Chole!) [i]Iris starts taping his stomach...but with his heavy swimming, he could barely feel it...When he stopped in the center, he could feel Iris convulsing and her body was pressed tightly, begging for air.[/i] Chole: OH!!! [i]Chole quickly opens his mouth and presses his lips against Iris' asking her to open up so he could give her life...She slowly opened up. Chole tilted his head and sealed his lips against hers. He exhaled, giving whatever oxygen he could spare. Iris' eyes opened and she inhaled with all her strength. Chole broke the lock and positioned himself to carry Iris again. Iris closed her eyes and hung on to Chole tightly, knowing that he had saved her life. Siren signaled and swam ahead. They could see a bright light and they swam faster. Siren was the first to pop her head out of the water, followed by the rest of the group, speeding past Iris and Chole. Chole surfaced slowly, making sure Iris' head was clear above the water before his was. They let out all the used up air inside them and took another breath.[/i] Chole: *gasp*!!! Siren: But he was the only one who could hold his breath for unusually long times. Pi: How do you kno...nevermind... Siren: Yeah...I know Chole more than most people. [i]Chole lay down on the ground, huddled in a fetal postion. Iris wrapped her body around him, like a mother deer keeping her young warm during a harsh winter storm. Chole started to cry...[/i] Chole: The cold...it hurts. [i]Everyone gathered around Chole, leding all the heat they could give while they watched as Iris took good care of him.[/i] Siren: He's never been exposed to such cold tempratures before. Pi: And I thought Meteo City was cold at night. Night: Heh... Siren: If he doesn't get warm soon...he might die. Rena: Mmmm... Iris: I'm not gonna let him die. Chole: Thanks...I...I...I...ris... [i]Chole clinged on tightly to Iris' body, trying hard to absorb all the heat she was giving him. He started to turn from blue to a pale white. Then his healty light brown skin in a few hours.[/i] Liam: Good job Iris... [i]Iris unwrapped her lying body from Chole's and to her surprise, he was sleeping...[/i] Siren: Ha...cute... Night: So where do we go from here? Siren: I know of a peninsula east just half a mile from here...Night...you take Iris and Chole. I'll take Rena and Roux for flight. He didn't have to live with Ten at the laboratory. Siren commited him there and told him it was for the best. Chole didn't have to escape Meteo City with the others and look blindly for the Cristal. They weren't even sure that Meteo City was in any type of danger, even if what she saw suggested that. But most importantly, she and Chole never had to get themsleves dragged into all of this. They could have just ran away to Celes or some faraway place and lived in peace. But now it was all too late and they would have to finish their journey, wherever it took them.[/i] Chole: Iris... Iris: What is it? Chole: It's okay... Iris: What's okay? Chole: Heh...I can read your thoughts clear as day... Iris: *blush* Oh! Chole: Giving it a little thought of it myself...I think you're right...I didn't have to live a life like this. But it would be running away from the truth...and betraying our own. Iris: You always know that...even though our kind might be in danger, we're not! We're safe! And as long as the few of us are still living, our species still lives. Half-human, half-animal. Chole: *sits up* There still might be a way... Iris: There's always another way! [i]Iris hugged Chole tightly. He pushed her arms away...[/i] Iris: Eh, Cho... Chole: It's okay... [i]Chole turned around and hugged Iris. Her eyes opened wide with his surprise and they slowly closed as, Chole's eyes were, and they collapsed to the ground in a sweet relase of energy...[/i] Iris/Chole: :sleep: [i]~Back at open sea[/i] Liam: Where could they have gone? Siren: Not far, hopefully... Rena: Iris! Rev: Don't worry, we'll find them... Pi: It's getting really dark...maybe we should set up camp at one of the islands here... Liam: Knowing Night...they must've already reached the peninsula by now. Siren: Can't worry too much about that...we know that they're alive somewhere. It'll just take time... [i]Pi used his nightvison to locate a good and safe spot to spend the night. They slid their boat up the sand and set up a campfire. They were all cold from the underwater dive...cold, but still alive. Chole: They said they did...when I gave you that breath...and managed to stay underwater for a few minutes. Iris: You have huge lungs... Chole: I don't...they're actually very small. [i]Iris listened to his breathing and noticed that he was taking short, quick breaths.[/i] Iris: Why though? Chole: I dont' know...they said they wanted to keep me safe and all...until I finally met "them" Iris: "Them?"
