With so many excellent applications it was a difficult choice. However as you may note there are three Military Officers instead of the intended two. This is due to the dangers associated with the very first assignment the team will receive and upon reflection the CIF decided to accept an additional crew member.

You do not need to worry about what that assignment is just yet, soon you will be briefed and the mission thread will be posted in the Adventure Square. Until then we'd like to present the ship you will be assigned to, the:

[B]Colonel Marcus DeSouza[/B] – Clearly confident in his abilities and yet a tad reserved, especially in regards to Major Cameron James who he frequently gives the cold shoulder to.
[B]Kendra Erikson[/B] – Excited to be part of the mission and yet less than thrilled with the choice of mechanic.
[B]Brianna Henderson[/B] – Stern and a bit uncertain over being assigned to work with the military. Much like DeSouza she is not use to sharing command with the military just as he is not use to sharing with a civilian.
[B]Lieutenant Morrison Vayne[/B] – Focused and always thinking about the security side of any job.
[B]Michael Travis[/B] – A bit reserved, except in regards to various languages.
[B]Captain Teresa Schovick[/B] – Easily the most hyper of the entire crew.
[B]Alexander-James Bishop[/B] – A bit flippant and yet quite thrilled over the chance to pilot the Argo Navis.
[B]Major Cameron James[/B] – Eager to do his job and yet confused by the cold demeanor of the Colonel.
[B]Nakeisha Rhodes[/B] – A bit snobbish in regards to using the latest tools but still means well.

[size=1]I have some general questions about the Agro Navis itself.

Are we the only crew on the ship, or are there other NPCs as support staff? How large is the ship? How does space travel work?

[COLOR="goldenrod"]We are the only crew. The ship itself is designed to handle a crew of 15. There are no NPC/support staff since it's designed so that it could literally be operated by just one person. Essentially the whole idea was to make the need for additional staff redundant. However, the CIF is expecting the crew to run into trouble, to possibly need to do repairs, etc. Which is why both an engineer and a mechanic were selected. Kendra A. Erickson and Nakeisha Rhodes. Between the two of them, their combined skills should be capable of fixing anything on the ship should it need it. ^_~

As for space travel itself, it works by virtue of traveling through a different realm of space altogether. Commonly known as hyperspace. [/COLOR]

I just realized where I've seen that ship before. :catgirl: Though I suppose that you removed the name Diplo helps Beth, as far as it taking a moment for me to realize what it is. lol Though knowing that makes it easy for me to think about just how big the ship really is. ^_~ Which begs a question. Will we have transport technology like the ship does in Star Ocean?

Anyway, I'm assuming that food is pretty basic, or rather that we have the supplies and simply fix it ourselves. Unless you're thinking of something else. Anyway. Whee! It's gonna be fun! :catgirl:[/COLOR]

Heh, but anyway. We didn't have the original design of the ship's interior in mind when we decided on the ship. We would rather that also be a part of the creativity of our participants. But to those who ARE famliar with the interior, it's much the same size, not large but at the same time seemingly more than accomodating for the ten of us.

The food we set off with will be pretty basic, rations, etc. Food for later will become an obvious solution in time.

Look for the thread to be up between tonight and tomorrow evening :).

At least not compared to say military battleships and such. ^_~

As for the damage issue, all ships have backup systems and in the end, if the damage really is serious, the mechanic and the engineer's job will be to fix it enough so one can get to a space station where full repairs can be done. And even then, depending on where you are you'll simply get assistance if needed. If it's too damaged to get to a space station on it's own that is.

Also, it's not apparent, but the ship is designed for long voyages in the sense that all systems installed are ones that have an excellent track record as far as reliability goes. More experimental or less proven technology was not used. The biggest worry would be damage from an outside hostile force vs the ship actually breaking down. [/COLOR]

Also, I had you thought of making note of terms like the CCB (computerized clip board)? It just seems to me that if you plan on introducing more terms like that, every so often it would be useful if a list was posted here in the underground thread updating it, making it easier to keep track of such terms. I was thinking that once I get started on the medical side of this, I'd end up with abbreviations along those lines as well in the rpg.

Though if you're not, then I'll not worry about it. It's not like keep such terms straight really matters. It would be nifty though. But only because I like that kind of detail. It just makes it more fun. :catgirl:

Once everyone makes their intro posts and we get started, i'll compile a little list of nifty little terms and such that have been used and keep them updated everytime a new one is introduced, that way it'll always be in the same place. Here in the front page of the underground? Is that what you mean? In which case I agree, that would be much easier than sorting through page after page to find the current list.

So how about you think of it as an arrival post instead? Since if you think about it, that's what it really is. Your character's reaction to being chosen and what they are thinking as they arrive at the new ship, etc. I mean, you do have to start somewhere, right? Or is that going to just be semi assumed instead of detailed out? For example I'm assuming that to some extent they aren't in the same solar system like say Earth and Mars are. But yet they are close enough that travel between them isn't too time consuming. Or something like that. Regardless I'm ready for that first mission! ^_^[/COLOR]

Hehe, yes indeed my little secret easter egg has been found out ;P. The date was of course manipulated to make it more outlandish for the panopticon's atmospere.

I'll start first by saying that the first post in the underground thread will be the official list post for the important artifacts/equipment/relationships/places/etc that are shown and established throughout the RP, if that is cool with Beth since it'll be up to her to edit them in once we've discussed them ;P. If not then i can make it one of my posts.

As for location, yeah within the same general area on a galactic scale. Like what mercury/venus/earth would be in relation to one another, or even the same planet having several areas belonging to several nations. Using earth as an example of the latter, say North America was Creid territory and Asia was Narisyan territory, etc.
