I like this song, cos it takes the club feeling of the orginal version and smacks it around til it turns into a massive hard hitting rave track.

- The Prayer [Does It Offend You, Yeah? Remix] - has this monotone robotic feel to it, something I'd listen to while roaming the streets of the Harajuku district
- The Prayer [Luna Junk ReEdit] - distorted drums and and destroyed guitar solo have the same feeling of the Break + Silent Witness Version, but it's alot heavier.
- The Prayer [Phones Full Metal Jackin' Remix] - something I'd heard if I went to a party, or something I'd suggest to someone who didnt pick up [B][U] Silent Alarm: Remixed[/B][/U]

The artist/band that has been played more than once on my playlist, has to be [B][U] Daft Punk[/B][/U], I dont know why, but their stuff is just [B][U][I] Epic[/B][/U][/I] to listen to.[/SIZE]

Wow is all I can say. I'm not bashing this song, its actually a really good song, I remember my crew and me jamming out to it with the windows rolled down and laughing at the weird looks we kept getting.

Okay then....past that flashback and to the point. I'm finding myself listening to "When Your Gone" by Avril Lavigne. Now normally I'm a complete Avril Hater but this song just soothes me. It kinda expresses my feelings over the loss of my mom last year and I really like the feel of the song. I swear however this is the only Avril song I like. : P [/SIZE][/COLOR]

they got my attention when I heard the remix of their song [B][U] Waters Of Nazareth[/B][/U] which was remixed by [B][U] Erol Alkan[/B][/U], so I went out and searched hard for more of their work, and I found out that they had contributed a remix to a [B][U] Daft Punk[/B][/U] Remix record, afterwords their first album, [B] ?[/B] came out, and I downloaded the entire thing, the entire track [Parts One and Two] are the best tracks on the album, I like them cos they have this electro feel infused with a post punk feel.

the record label that's getting a majority of my attention is [B][U] Ed Banger Records[/B][/U] [the label Justice is signed to] cos they have a varied roster that managed to get me back into electronic music.[/SIZE]

Earlier today I was listening to some of the music by M. Lehto, from the album [B]October Falls[/B]. M. Lehto does metal, which I'm not to fond of, but apparently he also does acoustic works, something I was not aware of until Jakehammaren sent me a pm along with links to four songs from October Falls. As he put it:

Something that is not only true, but it's nice to listen to. Eventually I want to hear the rest of the album, though it seems I'll have to import it since M. Lehto is from Finland and the stores here don't have it.

As of this moment I'm listening to the soundtrack [B]Yellowstone[/B], from the IMAX production. It's something that Beth suggested I get and listen to. And though I've yet to see the actual IMAX film, just listening to the music has me wanting to either purchase the DVD or head up to West Yellowstone and see it in person. The orchestration has a wonderful grand feel to it as well as very playful moments that have me wondering if at that point in the show it's to reflect some of the unique geysers and other features of the park.

So don't laugh but earlier today I was listening to New Found Glory... before I realized that I also had an older JoDee Messina CD in there and flipping back some more I discovered my Chicago Soundtrack from the Motion picture. (Who knew Richard Gere could sing?)

So yes right now in my car (I think now on Track 10) is the music from the motion picture of Chicago. Which is a helluva lot better than whatever else I had.[/color][/font]

Man sexiest music on EARTH. They need to play some Frank Sinatra in anime. I would buy it. Some of my "Hardcore metal fan" buddies laugh at me but they just don't understand the greatness of Frank Sinatra. The voice the musicianship oh it's all spectacular. In my mind the only thing that even comes close is rush.

[B]Stupify - Disturbed[/B]. One of my favorite Disturbed songs. The beat and the music is great. This and [B]Down with The sickness [/B]are two of [B]Distubred's [/B]most greatest songs in my pov.

[B]Topless - Breaking Benjamin. [/B]I love this song becase it's one of BB's heavier songs, plus it's pretty simple. I can say all of the lyrics right now if I wanted. It's also an easy song to play.

[B]Blinded in Chains - Avenged Sevenfold.[/B] Don't say it, I know you hate [B]A7X's [/B]band members, but you love their music. I can't even count how many times I've heard that. Good song though! [/COLOR]

[COLOR="DarkOrange"]Currently listening to [B]Sunrise in Aries[/B] by [B]God is an Astronaut[/B]. This is an interesting 3-piece post rock band with a unique sound in comparison to most of the genre. I was introduced to it by my pal [B]lastarial[/B] (blog entry on album [url=http://lastarial.wordpress.com/2007/08/14/take-refuge/#more-904]here[/url]. good review.) And found that on their myspace ([url=http://www.myspace.com/godisanastronaut]here[/url]) they have practically every song they've ever written up for listening. Currently I'm listening to their newest album, [B]Far From Refuge[/B]. The first song was alright, but Sunrise In Aries and now the piano track [B]Grace Decending[/B] are quite impressive. It's nice to hear post-rock who aren't [B]EitS[/B] wannabees.[/COLOR]

This is easily one of my favorite albums of all time, but I can almost never find a good time to listen to it. Sounds so much different from all my other stuff that it's always a surprise. I find that it's always a good listen when you're writing, though.

I'm so proud of liking this band, lol. It's one of the few bands that I discovered completely on my own and have actually introduced a couple other (here on OB!) people to. [B]The Indian Tower[/B] is a collection must for blues/stoner rock fans.[/COLOR]

The full-length is probably the greatest anime song ever XD It's spastic, the singing is perfect, the lyrics are insane, but best of all the throbbing guitars and winding piano create the ultimate feeling of absolute madness. The song is awesome, hilarious, and worthy of rockin' out to! Plus the solo's frickin sweet. [/COLOR]

1. I like the hip hop / punk rock / nu-rave feel to this track, I also like the hyperventalation at the beginning of the song.

2. I took a listen to their new stuff, and I was like: this is really catchy, it's different from their older works. I really like the guitar solos toward the end of the song, I also like how they manage to make the song sound longer than it actually is.

3. I like the completely synthesiszed feel that [Vitalic] gives to the track, it's a cover that lives up to the orignal song

4. The only metal song on my playlist that gets heavy rotation [no pun intended] I like this song cos it sounds so much better than the super distorted screaming crap that everyone else likes.

5. Perfect song to make out to, or slow dance to. It's like the only slow song I'd suggest to listen to while hanging out with a significant other.[/SIZE]

[COLOR="DarkOrange"]Oi. Just bought the album [B]Catch Without Arm[/B]s by dredg and currently on the 4th track, [B]not that simple[/B]. I wasn't expecting much from this outing, because it's their most mainstream work and what I've heard from it was only okay. I bought it, though, cuz it was only 6 bucks and I'm a total cheapskate. Plus, it's always nice to have the whole collection.

It's not that bad of an album, really. Just as if not more mellow than [B]El Cielo[/B] but so much less creative that it hurts. This particular song is epically boring.[/COLOR]

At this moment I'm listening to the [B]Vltava[/B] from [B]Ma vlast[/B] by[B] Smetana[/B]. It's a fantastic short piece that is written like a symphonic poem or rather is one of six that was written to represent aspects of Bohemia's landscape and history.

In this piece, Smetana uses tone painting to evoke the sounds of one of Bohemia's great rivers. In his own words:

The composition describes the course of the Vltava, starting from the two small springs, the Cold and Warm Vltava, to the unification of both streams into a single current, the course of the Vltava through woods and meadows, through landscapes where a farmer's wedding is celebrated, the round dance of the mermaids in the night's moonshine: on the nearby rocks loom proud castles, palaces and ruins aloft. The Vltava swirls into the St. John's Rapids; then it widens and flows toward Prague, past the Vyšehrad, and then majestically vanishes into the distance, ending at the Elbe.

The piece contains Smetana's most famous tune. It is an adaptation of an ancient folk song of indeterminate origin, which is also the basis for the Israeli national anthem, Hatikva. Smetana probably adapted the melody from a Swedish version called Ack, Värmeland. Basically it's just one of those pieces that I never get tired of listening to. My favorite parts are where the two smaller streams join together, it's expressive and moving to listen to as it really does sound like one is standing next to a river. I also love the part where it's supposedly going past a wedding as well, the flavor of a wedding march playing is beautifully woven into the overall piece.

Currently listening to [B]A Meeting Place And Time[/B] by [B]Woods of Ypres[/B] on their website, found [url=http://www.woodsofypres.ca/v2/index2.html]here[/url]. I had forgotten all about this band, which is a damn shame cuz they're a [i]damn[/i] great band. Similarities to [B]Agalloch[/B] abound, which is great cuz as you know, I'm freaking huge Agalloch fan.

If you can't tolerate screaming, [B]A Meeting Place and Time[/B] is where you should start since the other 3 songs on there have it. Wonderful, wonderful, emotionally moving piece.[/COLOR]
