i remember seeing the video and commenting with the people on what the song might mean.
most people seemed serious, so i added a few unlikely possibility, my favorite being that the song was about the recent oil spill, and it could effect all kinds of wildlife, such as sharks. needless to say the discussions involved were quite memorable.

I'm listing to Seven Nations army by The White Stripes. I enjoy Jack Whites exploding guitar riffs that are constantly backed up with a simple yet strong rhythm from Meg. Shows that blues and hard rock are not on life-support but still out there kicking butt and crying about lost loves.

I've got Raw Power by The Stooges attacking my speakers right now. The title track is playing, and it brings to mind what would happen if you took some 50's motorcycle gang and planted them in the late 70's punk-era England. They groove, rattle, shake, and grate. which is what they do best. It's proto-punk at its finest, especially the opening bombastic track "Search and Destroy". Classic manic energy, which would influence bands from Primal Scream to The White Stripes.

This last week I've mostly been listening to "The Tallest Man on Earth".

How would you describe this? Folksy, I guess. My sister likens his voice to that of Bob Dylan; I see where she's coming from.

You can't imagine how often I've played his albums. They're great.

I've been listening to Opeth a lot recently. I'm growing more and more attached to them. I'm not really a fan of death metal but opeth is also progressive so it's quite different. Also their vocalist Mikael switches from a satanic voice to a clean melodic voice so easily that it's just awesome. He can sound like satan when he wants to and then an angel the next moment.

Thanks to the new trailer for the Coen brother's True Grit remake, I've been on a serious Johnny Cash buzz all day. Other than that, I've gotten into a DJ Krush in a pretty big way. I struggle to describe his genre; ambient jazz techno perhaps?

Eminem ft Lil Wayne - No Love

I'm no fan of Lil Wayne anymore and honestly, I think he shouldn't even be in this song. Anyway, The way Eminem "flows" in this song is really good. Lyrically speaking, I haven't really paid much attention to what he said yet but in terms of just flowing, this is what I like. Fast flow. Even if you start out slow and pick up like he did you'll probably have my attention. (I listen to Bone Thugs n Harmony for their fast flow and it's the reason why I like them overall everyone else) Edited by Phenom

I really like The Fray's latest album. I know the lead singers voice is kinda weird and they did get played a ton, but i really think the self-titled album got skimmed over... it was kinda popular... but for a CD that i think is packed full of great songs (i can just pop it in and listen to all the tracks without skipping around) it didnt achieve the popularity of how to save a life (which in my opinion was half good half bad) and i dont know why...

I am also getting into KT Tunstall once again...

It's hard for me to say that I'm listening to one track because Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit due in 20 days and after playing the demo, I decided to build my playlist which I've called: How to Drive Like a Maniac in Seacrest County so far I've only a couple of tracks on the list...

- And Together / Innerpartysystem
- C'mon / Tiësto Vs. Diplo
- Animal / Neon Trees
- Faxing Berlin / deadmau5
- No One Knows / The Queens Of The Stone Age
- Battery / Metallica
- Hole In The Earth / The Deftones
- Say Whoa! / A-Trak

yet; I've the feeling I'll get this playlist finished a day after the game drops.

I've been listening to a lot of different stuff lately, but one group is starting to really take my fancy: Ladytron from the UK. If you like Curve, you may like Ladytron.

Although there's some variation, much of Ladytron's music fits loosely into the shoegazer genre.

Backed.

I can't remember the first time I heard Ladytron but I'm sure it had something to do with Depeche Mode.

On that note my current song is:

Black Sunday by Cypress Hill. It's not exactly old school, but I guess it would be to some of the younger people out there. It's full of big beats and scratchy record samples. This was before DJ Muggs went trip-hop with their next release Temples of Boom. Black Sunday was the classic that dropped right into that whole confusing "alternative" music scene in the 90's, and was somehow accessible to almost everyone. Also, listening to "Insane in the Membrane" reminds me of that episode from The Simpsons.

I don't think it's possible for me to ever get tired of this song. Listened to it countless times and it's still just as amazing each and every time. <3 It's even found a spot in my sig, too! Edited by Sangome
