RedJ
Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition has claimed my soul. I bought the PC version the other day and by some miracle my PC managed to run it. I just started Operation: Anchorage last night and- I'm kind of disappointed with it. It feels more like I'm playing Call of Duty than Fallout 3. But OA aside, it's the same Fallout epicness. The only thing that would make it better is if I had a 360 controller- it's a real playing with a keyboard and mouse @_@ I swear I'll get back to playing Pokemon Black sometime this year >>;
Magus
Hmm.. Maybe in my heart I truly like Ninja Gaiden 2 more than Ninja Gaiden 1 (mostly because of the combos) because right now I'm enjoying Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 a lot more than the first. While the blood in the original never bothered me, I can't say that the tone down bothers me either. The game still feels the same, but then again I am only on the 2nd chapter. 1 thing I will say that I do miss from the original is the upgrades. I have close to 20,000 essence but can't do anything with it. The big statue fight, I'm pretty sure I'll get used to it in the long run but it wasn't necessarily bad, but at the same time it's not needed either. Anyway, I'm also about to start playing God of War 1 soon (got the collection along with God of War 3) as well as Devil May Cry 4. I bought it for the PS3 as well (why, bout to trade the 360 version in soon). So altogether I'm currently playing Uncharted 1, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (kinda lost interest in 1), Devil May Cry 4, and God of War 1. I also have Metal Gear Solid 4 and Yakuza 3 in the backlog. Though I don't have the time that I'd like to have to play these games I most certainly won't be complaining about not having any games to play for a while.
FFXIII has a fantasticlty elaborate story and gameplay that will keep you busy for hours. The graphics are the best I have ever seen and I enjoy the characters (except for Hope, but I love hating on him.) You can also get it pretty cheap now. I recomend Red Dead Redemption if you are liking gta4 even a little bit. its a free roam game made by rockstar so you will jump in knowing how to play, but you will quickly see the differences when you find a fantastic main character, epic story, and controls that don't make you want to throw your controller through the 42' flatscreen TV you don't have anymore (too soon?). The game will keep you entertained for days with interesting challenges, and the online muiltiplayer can be fun if you can get a posse together. As for what I am playing... Pokemon White. This game is everything I have wanted it to be so far.
Sangome
So for my birthday, I purchased myself a copy of Ghost Trick. It's by the same director as Ace Attorney, and I had heard many good things about it, so I was hoping it did not disappoint. And it did not! It's a fun, solid game with an interesting story and pretty awesome characters, all of which are pretty quirky and endearing, as to be expected from the AA director. I'm not sure I like it quite as much as AA [although that may not be entirely fair since Ace Attorney has had six games so far, whereas Ghost Trick has had...one], but it's still a very good game. Definitely pick it up if you've got a DS. Also, I felt incredibly stupid at the end, because
it wasn't until 15 minutes after I beat the game before I realized just who came to get Yomiel. Sephiroth
Currently playing through Yakuza 4, it's even better than Yakuza 3 (which I loved) Also playing MvC3 competetively until Tekken Tag 2 is out in arcades sometime this year *waves to old school people*
James
*waves to old school people*
*waves back* :) At the moment I'm mostly playing Alan Wake on Xbox 360 as well as Pilotwings Resort on 3DS. Pilotwings is awesome; I think it's a lot better than Pilotwings 64 (which I also loved). And the 3D works to great effect in Pilotwings Resort. Alan Wake is pretty awesome too. I've heard that it gets a bit repetitive after a few hours, but so far I'm loving it. I think Remedy is such a fantastic developer. Alan Wake has an incredible atmosphere and, so far, a pretty good story as well. It makes me eager to play Max Payne 3. :P
Magus
I put Uncharted to the side for a bit. Now my attention's been focused on Yakuza 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4. Yakuza 3, while it's been entertaining for the most part it definately feels rather dated. I enjoy the combat but there are some tediousness there that's really bothering me. I don't really care for how they have you dodge in the game. I suppose I don't have a full understanding of it yet but I don't like the whole idea of you having to run around the opponent and then press a button to dodge an attack. In any case, I don't think I'm all that far into the game. I'm just now reaching a point to where Izumi (I want to call her Ibuki for some reason) wants to keep a dog (can't find a freakin pet supply store) Back to the combat though. It's certainly relieving to see these hits connect and whatnot, but I'm hoping that there are more attacks I learn or something because right now, repeating the same 5-6 attacks over and over can get tiresome over time and will cause me to lose interest. Sangome
Lately I've been replaying the classic Ocarina of Time. I had this file sitting around for awhile and decided to finally play more of it; I've not beaten the game all the way through since I was 12/13. Right now I'm at the infamous Water Temple, which isn't so much difficult as it is just frustrating, and that just comes from the poor choice of having the Iron Boots not be a C Button [or C Stick in my case] item. Clicking in and out of the menu isn't the most fun thing in the world. I was at Dark Link before I died; I'll go back later today and spam him with Din's Fire and just flailing about kamikaze style. Later this week I hope to obtain Portal 2, once I'm done with finals. That'll prove to be a nice lifesucker right there.
Magus
Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) - While I just recently started Act 2 this has turned out to be my favorite in the series, as well as my favorite game period. I called myself trying to be all stealthy and whatnot just using the tranq gun when this is my first playthrough when I should've just been playing it to complete it first. Anyway, I really like the gameplay mechanics (sp?) in this one. Side-rolling definately could've been used in the early games. Shooting with the R1 button definately feels a lot better than shooting with the squre button. Overall I'm just enjoying this game period. Even though I've already watched this game be played I'm not having any issues with the cutscenes. Assassin's Creed 2 (PS3) - Even though I had this for the 360 for some reason I couldn't get into it. And even then it has nothing to do with what console I was playing this on. At the time I just wasn't feeling it. But now that I'm going into the game without trying to rely on being all stealthy-like (whether guards come after me or not) I don't care and because of that I'm enjoying it a lot more now. One thing I have decided not to do in the game however is the racing. I'm just not up for the task and rather do other things. In any case, I'm getting ready to escort Claudia and the madre out of ________ (forgot the city/town they are in). I also ordered Infamous and Darksiders which should come in the mail some time during the week. I'm second guessing myself with Darksiders though. I saw some gameplay footage and to be honest I wasn't impressed but then I figured it had a similar style of play like Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams so I should give it a try. James
Last night I started playing Mortal Kombat. And wow, this game really is a huge return to form for the series. So far I'm really loving it. My only real gripe is admittedly a minor one...but who is doing the character design now? All the characters have this ridiculously cartoony pumped-up look and it's horrible. One reason I liked the digitized characters in the first three games is because they looked like normal people - they had correct proportions. I would really love to see characters with real proportions and slightly toned-down costumes. For me, that'd be much more true to the spirit of the series. Having said that, the graphics are generally very good and the gameplay is really where it's at - fast, well-balanced and a nice combination of old and new. I'm loving it. :D
Roleni-Chan
Xbox360: Phantasy Star Universe - I have an online membership and updates on the game is so delayed, but I am hooked with the game play. PS3: Katamari Forever and 3D Dot Heroes - I will so get the system, but I already have two games waiting for its arrival. Wii: Super Smash Bros Brawl - I only play occasionally. DS Lite: Dragon Quest IV - Once finals ends for me, I can actually sit back and enjoy this game. PSP: Final Fantasy IV: Complete Edition - This game will never get boring for me. Shinmaru
I'm probably one of the last gamers in the world to play Portal, but I just beat it today and loved it. Good stuff, and really engaging in a way I haven't felt from a console game in quite a while. I'll be playing Portal 2 next, but not right away since my brother is beating Portal ... although it might be right away, actually, since he's progressing through the game at a faster clip than me lol. SarahPatricia
I don't really play a lot of games but I play some online and offline games >.> some psp games... most of which are rpg and racing games. Here are some: GodsWar Online, Tales of Pirates, Tales of Phantasia, Need for speed: Most wanted, Midnight club: LA remix, Final drive: Nitro, O2mania, and some other not so popular games & preloaded games that are already in my laptop XD
I'm probably one of the last gamers in the world to play Portal,
My brother taught me how to play portal x) Though I'm not really good at it lol

I still haven't played it. Can't say that I'm convinced to get it though, either. Anyway, I've been toying around with Darksiders, and it's not a bad game, but I can't say it's good either. The way you're collecting items/powerups and whatnot, I can see a little similarities to Zelda. Right now I'm not feeling this game because I like to mix up my attacks instead of seeing the same hits one after another. I guess this is another reason why I'm not into the Zelda games anymore. I was hoping to find weapons instead of having to save up souls/orbs/money to buy them. I will end up selling this game as well. Next up Infamous. Probably let you know how this is next weekend.
Shinmaru
lol Never mind, I actually started Final Fantasy XIII next. I'm pretty early in the game, so I don't have many solid impressions yet. I do like the pace of the battles at least; nice and quick, and they keep you on your toes. Kind of easy, though, because the healing items are pretty powerful, and you heal after every battle. I think the latter bit has caused me to be a bit more aggressive than usual, since I have that to fall back on even if I barely scrape past a battle, haha. James
Once you get passed the single button battles, things really pick up. It's just a shame that the story is so utterly forgettable. :\
darksuzakurera
Taking a break from playing Touhou, my direction set from an another bullet hell game called Shikigami no Shiro just a week ago. So far, I'm enjoying it and had the chance to play all 3 Shikigami series (minus the VN one, I can't stand heavy text games honestly). The story's good if you're playing alone but if on co-op, it gets either wacky or annoying depending on the character(s) chosen. I still can't remove this game on my PS2 :P DS, I got sick of raising Pokemon in Soul Silver so relying on Feraligatr and Swampert to sweep off the Kanto Gym Leaders. Dovahkiin
in my honest opinion i wouldn't waist your money on Brink, the campaign is, 'scuse my language, crap. Shinmaru
FFXIII's story is kind of boring so far, so I'm switching to Portal 2 for the time being. Definitely like it a lot so far: The setting is being used to great effect. I love all the touches that are going into it (probably as a result of a greatly expanded budget, I expect). There's some nice variety introduced so far, too -- deadly lasers, reflective cubes, bouncy plates, etc. I hear the best, most fun stuff is yet to come, too, so yay! Magus
I did try to play Infamous yesterday. Can't say I liked it either. I probably should give it a fairer chance but at the same time I just don't like the combat in it. I guess it's more of an acquired taste. Anyway, I went back to Devil May Cry 4 (I really enjoy this game). Right now I'm just doing a lot of orb collecting/gathering so I can upgrade Nero's abilities before proceeding onto chapter 4. How far are you in Portal 2? When you get a couple of chapters in, the game starts getting really crazy. It's ridiculously awesome. I don't want to spoil anything, but there are moments where you feel like you're breaking out of the Truman Show...and the way it all happens is just too cool. The twists and turns are very devious (and funny), too. :)
Sangome
Man oh man I've been wanting to rave about Portal 2, so now's a good a time as ever. I spent last week playing and loved every freakin' minute of it. It's exponentially better than the already fantastic first game in pretty much every way imaginable, and AGH it's just...awesome. One of the best games I have played in a long time. Favorite part was very easily
old!Aperture Science. It had a lot of personality and atmosphere even in such a state of abandon, and of course Cave Johnson is a crazy awesome fountain of memes. Learning about GLaDOS's origin story was awesome too and I completely and totally called it ever since I first saw her in the original game. I felt proud of myself for that. >>
Also, Want You Gone >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Still Alive. Just sayin'. I've had it on a near-endless repeat for the past three or four days now. Very glad I didn't listen to it before I played the game, too, as the lyrics actually contain a decent spoiler. Granted, it wouldn't make sense unless you've played the game, but still... Next up, I'm going to replay Wind Waker. I replayed it last summer, but I feel like doing it again in the wake of replaying OoT. I think I have a New Game+ left over from last year's replay, so I get to run around as Pajama!Link and understand ancient Hylian~! Edited May 29, 2011 by Sangome
