What Are You Proud Of?

In other words, what things about yourself are you proud of, whether its physical or mental. Perhaps it's a skill or a job that you're really good at. And by proud I mean you are almost on the vain side over it. It's something that is one of the driving forces in your life that keeps you going.

It's easy enough to think of things you aren't good at, but those things that you really shine at? Anyway, I'll start. The thing I am proud of is my playing ability. I've worked pretty damn hard at it over the years and I think it's coming together rather well. It's not just a matter of thinking I'm good, my teachers have told me I'm good. It's the one thing in my life that I'm really proud of. I like playing the Cello and I intend to make it my career. In all honesty I can't imagine my life without it.

Now... What about the rest of you? What are you proud of and why?

Oh dear god...

I'm proud of my brain above all else. Proud of the fact that I'm far smarter than anyone I've ever met and that I can compreend things with ease and can see the full scope of things. I'm proud that I know who I am and what I want to be and that I'm willing to die for my beliefs. I'm proud of myself for being a good citizen and a good person. But far more than that, I'm proud of being a good son and a good brother.

I am proud of my ability. I have a gift of writing - a skill. I have the spirit of a competetor and iron will. I may have a short attention span, but I have the patience of a damn saint. I'm proud of having a smart family and I'm proud of my brothers despite their shortcomings.

I'm proud of my possessions. I keep my collections organizd and shown-off for a reason (that reason is mostly OCD, but pride also has to do with it!) I have pride in my ability to always push forward despite the innumerable hardships I face. (okay, there have been times when that wasn't my doing, but there have been others where it was totally my own awesome willpower).

I'm proud of my ideas and proud of my legacy. I will go on in eternity.

(In no real order really)

I'm proud of my physical ability. The only thing I'm really looking forward to school next year is that I'm going to play football. The rest, I have no idea how its going to be like. Freshman of high school (heh heh.. this is where the sweat drops off of the side of my head...).

I'm also proud of my mental ability. If I didn't have some special gift I wouldn't be able to play video games as well as I can. I'm not very sure if I'll continue to play them after I get out of high school, but its a though. I've actually beaten some really good guys.

Hmm, well not trying to sound too sad, there isn't much else about myself worth mentioning. Thanks for reading though,

David

I guess I have a few things.

I'm proud of my drawing abilities. I praticed alot growing up because I loved it so much and I've become considerably better. Nowadays I don't have much time to draw like I used to, but I still enjoy it when I can.

My Taekwondo. I've been doing it for almost three years(in September), and I'll be testing for my blackbelt soon. I love it.

My physical abilities. I workout alot, and do alot of TKD and combat classes. I love doing ab work outs.I've been called a beast and an animal from my ab stuff I do, lol!

Taekwondo, God, and working out are my three biggest passions, heh.

Alright, enough gloating. Now I just feel embarassed. ^_^;

I am proud of my sweet personality.

Proud of my friends.

Proud of a job well done.

Proud of my family.

Proud of my nephew.

Proud I'm alive.

Proud of being better off than most with the same disability.

I am also humble of these things as well. God can easily take away those things that He so readily gives. I am proud that He loves me and also humble for that fact.

I'm proud of my academic ability, which I guess would translate into some measure of intelligence. No, I don't mean "I'm smart!" but I was in the top 5% of black youth in my high school, as well as around the top 10% in all of America. I'm going to an Ivy League school (Columbia) this fall.

I'm proud that I'm in good physical shape, glad that my parents gave me good genes, thankful that I don't have any disabilities or crippling illnesses.

I'm proud of my artistic capability, and glad that I've expanded it to areas greater than just photoshop.

Whee, vanity!

I'm proud of my empathy. It has, probably more than another other trait I have, defined my how I act and think on most matters.

I'm proud that I've learned not to rely solely on god-given skills, and that talent can only grow when coupled with hard work and endurance. I'm glad that I've gotten rid of my 'some people are just elite' attitude, and realized that people who rub their noses into the ground trying are a thousand times better than any genius could ever be.

And I'm proud of new shoes. :)
And I'm proud of new shoes. :)
Oh man - me, too. My taste in shoes is awesome.

Let's see. The obvious one is that I'm really proud of my leadership skills, or rather, the product of them. I finally was chosen as one of the drum majors of my marching band... that's probably the one thing I've wanted more than anything for about two years. It's a huge accomplishment to me.

I'm proud of my musical ability. I'm a pretty darn good trumpet player, and I'm hopefully going to make it in to Butler's music school. I don't think there's much doubt in that.

Lastly, I'm proud of my body. I'm tall and skinny, and it's kinda nice. I used to hate having hips because they make what would be a size 5 frame jump up to a 13. But now I don't mind as much... because, in the words of Shania Twain... Man, I feel like a woman!

I am proud that I have supportive friends and family around me to help me through the hard times. Many people don't have a strong support system so I am really proud to have surrounded myself with people that I truly love and trust. My friends and family are the best.

I'm quite proud of myself, but I'm not conceited. I can see the loop-holes in things, usually when I'm arguing with my friends. I'm really smart, I only act like an idiot. I can remember things on a whim, even events that no one else I know can remember, hell, I can sometimes even remember sentences from a few years back. I'll sometimes point out other's mistakes on purpose.

I've been told outside, and even on OB that I persevere even wen people knock me down. Which is a good quality that a lot of people I know don't have.

I can write pretty good, not that good, but hey, I can write better than most of the people I know at school. I feel the pain of others. When my friend was crying, I almost shed a tear. So I find myself sympathetic. And, I can make people laugh.

I'm just not proud of the choices I've made in life, but hey, you can't live in the past forever.

I'm proud that I've been able to call some of the coolest people I know my friends.

I'm proud of my city, for the most part. It's a small place with a lot of art and grassroots organizations. It just feels like large corporations have no place there.

I'm proud of and very thankful for everything I'm lucky enough to have, as well as the experiences I've been lucky enough to have been a part of.

I'm proud of my AMAZING taste of music. :p

I'm proud to be straightedge.

I'm proud of how abnormal I am.

And what I'm not proud of is my body, but I'm workin' on it.

I'm proud that I choose to live,

I'm proud that I'm not afraid to be myself even if I get critisized or discriminated against.

I'm proud that I do things that are right even if the law says that it isn't, so you could say I'm proud I follow morals.

I'm proud that I'm an active practitioner in a highly misconcepted religion, and that I can help people see that it isn't as most make it out to be.

I'm proud that even though I may not be compleatly stable I can still be there for me friends, even if I have no one for me.

I'm proud of the preserverance I have when a problem arises, and the friends I have to back me up.

I'm proud that I don't like my country and government.

I'm proud of my book collection.

And I'm proud of my intellegents, even if im not the best in school all of my teachers have told me I was smart. I can think my ways out of many situations, and have many solutions to problems.

I'm proud that I'm bigger than you.

I'm proud that I'm proud that I'm bigger than you; that is to say, I'm proud that my life isn't governed by social stigmas and the opinions of others. I am what I is, and I'm happy that way.

I'm proud that I have a genuinely decent personality. I'm not a dick, and I have a sense of humour on top of it. Maybe too much of a sense of humour, some would say, but I rather like laughing at everything.

I'm proud that I'm humble. If I say anything that comes off as egotistical, it's said with tongue firmly in cheek.

I'm proud that I understand things. Some people memorize, I comprehend. As a result, I'm bad at math and historical dates, but I know a hell of a lot about the rest of stuff, even if I have trouble putting it on paper.

I'm proud of my taste in movies, music, and books. I'm proud in my choice of friends, too.

Mostly, I'm just proud that I'm me and not somebody else.

I'm proud of my drawing abilities.

I'm proud of my musical tastes.

I'm proud of my writing ability.

I'm proud of my heritage (Greek/Irish/Cherokee).

I'm proud of my appearance and physical ability.

I'm proud of my social skills and way with women/relationships.

I'm proud of my friends and family.

I'm most proud of my skill in martial arts, which was a process that I worked long and hard to achieve. And while I am proud of my current state, I am by no means satisfied, heh. I look to improve more and more as my life goes on and to continue making myself proud.

I'm proud of my drawing skills. Though I do admit, I'm not very good but my friends and family tell me that I'm good. Hell, I'm better than my older sister. I'm proud that I'm not so good at snowboarding but I'm getting to the advance level. I'm proud of all the things that I accomplish since I have a short intention span. I'm not the most patient person in the world so I tend to act without thinking but sometimes that has been an upside for me.

I'm proud that I'm different and that I don't give a damn about what the hell other people think of me. I changed for the better so it as hell better show. I'm proud of my confidence in the hardships and downfalls that come into my life. I'm heading into high school now and I have complete faith that I will excel. I'm proud of the strong-willed person that I am. I have a strong suit in me and that has helped me through drama that others sometimes can't handle. I have a sympathic side too but it's hard since I've build up my agressiveness but I do show it sometimes.

I'm proud of my happy-go-lucky side of me. A lot of people tell me that it makes them smile and that makes me happy. I'm proud at making people smile for the goofy things I do. When I screw up, I don't feel bad but I love it when I do it on purpose and makes others feel happy inside. I'm proud at how I conduct myself to others. My mother told me that when I talk to adults that I act very mature.

That's all I have right now but I'm happy that I get to tell people what I'm proud of.

I know more about Star Trek then is healthy, and I'm pretty proud of that.

Seriously, too much. I once correctly placed what season an episode of TNG was after roughly 3 seconds, and that was only by looking at Worf's hair.

I'm proud of my Friends. The nerdy ones, the genius, the freak, the rebel. The Sensei, the master, the student. These friends mean more to me than anything I have left.

And more recently discovered, I'm proud that I can find emotional strength I never thought I had...

Probably the thing I'm most proud of is my education and college degree. For whatever reason every woman on my mom's side of the family never went beyond High School and many never finished at all. So I was determined to not continue in their footsteps and actually get a degree. The day I got my diploma was one of my proudest.

The other thing I'm proud of is my ability to drive. I'm sure you can imagine just how intimidating the thought of driving a huge 18 wheeler can be. To be frank even though I was sure I wanted to do it, at first I was terrified. But I stuck with it and learned to do it just the same. ^_^ I no longer drive a semi for a living and I make mistakes, but just the same I'm very careful and have a perfect driving record, no tickets, accidents or anything like that. I've been in accidents, but they were caused by the other driver and not myself.

I can do the exact same thing by looking at the title, or listening to the stardate if it pops up at the beginning and I'm 15 =p.

...I'm sorry, Nerdsy XD I think Will's going to come along and beat everyone in the Star Trek thing in a second though O_O;;.

But, other than that, I'm proud of a few simple things:

My social life (I guess the Star Trek comment contridicts this, but I also guess I'm very good at balancing the two)

My few talents, and the fact I still have them

Living. Not just breathing, but actually living in a way that I'm proud of.

I'm proud of OtakuBoards.

Although I can be happy with whatever work I've done on the site over the last few years, I am mostly proud that OB has become what it is today. And although much of that has happened naturally, it's needed frequent attention from the staff.

In terms of personal stuff...I guess I'm most proud of my work ethic. I'm working one job now, about to start consulting, I've also applied for volunteering work...and there's all the online work.

Maybe I sometimes put too much on my plate, but I really keep trying no matter what.

Are you seriously comparing using episode titles to using hairstyles? I mean, stardates, yeah, that's impressive, but episode titles are easy.

And to continue this one-upsmanship, I often know exactly what episode I'm watching just from the inflection in Picard's voice when he says "Captain's Log." Sometimes I also need "Stardate," but only if it's an episode I'm not fond of.

And to keep from derailing this thread, I'm also pretty proud of my wicked Guitar Hero skills. I mean, I'm not the best, but I'm pretty freakin' awesome. I just can't nail those damn pull-offs....

Well, let's see, where to start...

- I'm a black belt, but I still consider myself in training. I am willing to admit that although I am stronger than a lot of people, I'm nowhere near invincible. I'm proud of the fact that I have the experience to acknowledge my own weakness and not think my training is over because I've achieved a high rank. To me, it's only just begun and there is no end.

- I'm extremely proud of my skill when it comes to video games. In competitive video game play, my lifetime win-loss ratio is approximately 20 wins to 1 loss. In SSBM, I was able to achieve over 400 KOs in Endless Melee without hacking or using DK or even using a heavyweight character; in fact, his third recovery move was horrible! I was able to complete Ocarina of Time in 2 days with perfect records in everything, and those 2 days include breaks for eating, sleeping, etc. Need I go on?

- I'm a virgin and I've never smoked, drunk alcohol, or done non-prescription drugs (except cold pills) in my life. And I'm VERY proud of that.

- I'm proud of my insane skills in English. I learned it WAAAYYY too quickly. I was doing high school vocabulary in elementary school and was reading before I could talk! And I know spelling and usage like the back of my hand - vocabulary tests were basically easy 100's for me.

- I'm proud of having intelligence, wisdom, and so-called common sense. So-called because very few people seem to have it these days. Everyone seems to think of me as a total weirdo, but I really don't even mind anymore. In fact, I'm now proud of being weird. I'm proud of being what everyone else strives so hard to be - someone who isn't part of the crowd, someone who stands out. I don't really even care what others' opinions of me may be, as long as I'm true to myself.

- Last, but certainly not least, I'm proud of the fact that I can understand the fact that truth doesn't dwell in any set place, and that society and the media can very easily deceive. I can see through people. And I can see past stereotypes. I don't guess people's personality based on whether they're a man or a woman, their religion, or their "race" (which is in quotation marks because I consider that term "racist", ironically enough). I learn who they are partially through what they say and primarily through how they act.

i am proud that i have never and will never give in.

ive had friends from grade 7 that have asked me for about 8 years to try some kind of a drug, such as pot or what ever until about the time i graduated

i have always turned them down but in the most respectful way, and i still remained their friends.

i am proud to say that i do not care what any one thinks about what i say or do, as i will stand by it.

i really cant think of any thing more yet
