XP For now, those in the Empire, have their assignments. But those in the New Alliance, other than inwardscream who has his objectives in regards to having been left on Earth, the rest of you, other than things mentioned in previous posts, you're free to roam around on the home world in sector eleven while repairs are being done to the Liberator.

For Kreid that could entail meeting with Daniel as indicated to learn his assignment is permanent as well as going to the surface, after all, it's likely that there are other agents there. And with so many officers on leave as well, that leaves all sorts of interesting possibilities up in the air. What with all the dangerous criminals around.

For Kiva that could entail finally talking to Dalek. Kreid and Kiva could even run into one another, though chances that they know one another is slim since they are from totally different sections of the Elite Forces. I leave that up to both of you should you chose to have a little fun with that.

There is going to be something happening in just a bit that will set the next phase in motion. In the meantime, in the confusion of so many soldiers on leave on the planet, there is a distressing possibility that some of those on leave could end up running into misfortune as a result of someone like Dr. Phantaxian, or one of his many copycats. :p

So basically, you're all open to do whatever you want for a just a little bit since everyone is in a bit of downtime between assignments. Well other than perhaps Daniel who's work is never done. Anyway, once a few more things happen, since some of you have a few loose ends to tie up or to get started... at that point we'll get the next phase underway. [/FONT][/COLOR]

[B]Loyalty:[/B] Unknown. Valencia is loyal to no one but herself or so it seems, she has helped out the Resistance in the past, but that has usually been to make a profit instead of being loyal to their cause or ideals.

[B]Description:[/B] [URL="http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/9128/pirate02cr5.jpg"][U]Valencia[/U][/URL] Though she is Versilan, Valencia has had her eyes treated so they appear lavender instead of the usual silver that all Versilan?s have. It?s a trade mark that she is well known for. As well as her flamboyant manner of dress.

[B]Weapons:[/B] Valencia is well versed in most Versilan weapons, tending to favor a set of disruptor pistols that she has heavily modified to increase their range and destructive power. She is also familiar with a lot of older styled weapons even though she rarely uses them. Though she is not in the military, she is also quite familiar with most explosives as well, even ones she should not be. Like most Versilan?s she is also acquainted with hand to hand combat.

[B]Special Skills:[/B] Valencia is a space pirate, and has been for nearly a hundred years. Though she?s not a true expert, she is skilled at hacking and knows all of the smuggling routes through out the Versilan Empire. If there?s a backdoor into a place, chances are that she knows about it. She has a decent knowledge of shipping and handling weapons and explosives for the simple reason that she has often dealt with them in the black market, acquiring goods to turn around and sell to the Resistance and now the New Alliance. She is also good at modifying and repairing her own small smuggler?s vessel the [I]Stykera[/I], a sleek ship capable of outrunning almost anything, other than the ships of the Elite Specialists.

[B]Personality:[/B] Calm, collected and poised. Valencia rarely loses her composure, even in the most dire of situations. She?s hard to read and is often mistaken for being cold and calculating, though on some level that is true as she always looks at things with a view as to how it will benefit her. Valencia is guarded about her past and other than her exploits as a pirate, nothing is known about her personal life.

[B]Short Bio:[/B] Valencia has been a space pirate for nearly a hundred years, traveling all over the Versilan Empire in search of wealth and profit. Other than her exploits and being know for her trademark lavender eyes, not much is known about her. Though she is wanted by the Versilan Empire, no one has managed to come close to actually catching her. The bounty on her is one of the longest standing bounties in history for how long it has gone without being collected on.

She has often aided the Resistance by acquiring arms and intelligence to sell to them and has continued to do so for the New Alliance once the Civil War began. Usually it?s a case of her feeling bored and deciding to actually acquire something for the New Alliance as it is rumored that she is wealthy enough to purchase an entire sector and simply retire if she so wished. Whether or not this rumor is true is unknown, just as her past is nonexistent. It is speculated that Valencia is not her real name.[/FONT][/COLOR]

Jared is accidentally terrorizing Celestia and Jason by his mere presence, something I definitely approve of... Sub-Commander Drace is having his orders countermanded by Jared as well as Crystal, yet another thing I approve of... And we have a new Voluptuous addition to the cast in the form of a female space pirate. I'm thinking this is going to get interesting, she looks like a fun character. Heh.

Anyway, now all we need to do is poke BKstyles just for fun and we're set! :p[/COLOR]

I included a tiny bit on candidates for the High Council even though we're not likely to deal with them this time around since Stevens and Sandra are full Council members this time.

Anyway, just a few more things are expected to go up and then we'll get started, though if some of them haven't by say Sunday, I'll advance the story just the same. And by that I mean I'll be sending out the new objectives at that point since my plan was to get them to everyone no later than next Monday. She has yet to get her hands on the specifications for the newer Messenger Ships. Also, anyone is free to run into her if they wish if they are on leave on Gallana since by now I'm sure rumors of her being on world are starting to spread. [/FONT][/COLOR]

To clarify what Stevens did to Darren's ship the [I]Wilkey[/I] [[SIZE="1"]still has no idea why Beth chose that name[/SIZE]] It's a prototype engine that was originally going to be used for the next generation of of Messenger Ships before the perfect crystal system was developed for the [i]Transcendence[/i] and the now upgraded [I]Catalyst[/I]. I just realized that my post could be confusing so hopefully that clears things up. As to why it was modified... Only Beth knows. XP

Beth will be updating the main post but I'll go ahead and mention it here. The NPC Tarika Zaidin is a member of a branch of the government known as Special Investigations. It's a group that specializes in checking out cases that baffle local authorities in different sectors. For example, someone like Dr Mikhail Phantaxian would warrant a Special Investigations Agent being sent to help track him down. They are a step down from Elite Specialists in that they handle less sensitive cases and situations that don't require the expertise of someone like say Kiva or Kreid.

Anyway, in other words, I'd say Kreid has a problem on his hands since her mission is to fully clear him and that's just not going to possible. ;) I'm thinking it's going to be fun since even if she is supposedly providing security, Kreid will know what a Special Investigations Agent does.

I've updated the first post with a bit on the branch of the government known as Special Investigations [[SIZE="1"]excellent idea btw Kathy[/SIZE]] And I'm quite sure that Kreid is less than thrilled to see Tarika Zaidin. ^_~

Also, in addition to the bit on Special Investigations I've added a section called Sector Snapshots. indifference using a picture to represent sector eight reminded me of how a handful of pictures were used for the first installment so I updated with links to each picture and included brief descriptions of what the pictures are.

The Versilan Empire has a huge range of different architecture and technology on account of the ten factions that form the High Council being secretive about technological advances before they formed the Council to begin with. It's also a result of enslaving other races and incorporating their technology into their own.

Anyway, like in the first installment, the option to use pictures to represent stuff like that is still open to everyone. If anything else is used I'll simply add it to the list.[/FONT][/COLOR]

Those poor children, that was a rather dark post on your part Shy, one that neatly ties into how the Versilan Empire is quite corrupt.

Anyway, it's a pity that Daniel fails to see the more immediate and very real danger in Kreid, but then he has no reason to really suspect him. I think he's going to be quite shocked when he finds out.

Also I agree, that has to sting and as the expression goes, oh to be a fly on the wall when it hits. To see their utterly shocked reaction upon receiving the news. I bet some of those High Council members will be about ready to pull their hair out over that aspect. Fun! :catgirl:
