Japan
I was waiting for Tori to make that announcement! With that said and done, let's give Tori ideas for a baby shower by telling her of our own experiences or lack thereof. As well as some of the retarded games you had to play at yours or at someone else's baby shower. AM should know what I am talking about. So without further ado, let's reflect back on the good, the bad, and the ugly. I only went to one baby shower because I typically hate these kind of things. (So boring that I'd rather read a book) This baby shower was my sister's. I didn't have too much fun because it was mainly my brother-in-law's family and friends from their church. (I go to a different one) If I remember right, the games were lame, my present was the only cool one and the food was yummy.
Panda
I've been invited to so many baby showers recently I am beginning to wonder if I should just get a charge card for the baby stores. I am really not a fan of baby showers since they usually end up with every woman at the party pestering me about having kids of my own. After 12 years of: "When are you having a baby?", it just gets a bit old. The most recent baby shower was for my cousin. I found the cutest baby boy outfit with a puppy and panda flying airplanes! I also bought the matching blanket. I do have to admit that finding that outfit gave me the little twinge of wanting a baby of my own... but that quickly faded. At the shower we also found out that another one of my cousins is also expecting their second child. So there is yet another baby shower in my future. Of the showers I've gone to I would say my favorite game was one that was really simple. The mom-to-be walked around with a roll of toilet paper and you had to pull off the amount you thought it would take to wrap around the biggest part of her tummy. After everyone had their length of TP, the mom-to-be tried to wrap the paper around to see who came the closest. It was funny to see how wrong some people were. I would have to saw the worst was this relay race between two teams. We each had to get into lines, run about 10 feet to a changing table where a doll was waiting. One person had to undress the doll and take the diaper off. The next person had to then put the diaper back on the doll and re-dress it. This continued on until everyone on the team went through the line. Oh and you had to use the baby wipes, baby powder and the diapers were cloth. I wonder how many people still even use cloth diapers... Anyway, most of the women got the biggest kick out of it. I just wasn't interested since I was pre-teen at the time. Too old to play with dolls, too young to be thinking about real babies. In fact, I still feel too young to think about having babies. I think I'll just stick to adopting pets. :catgirl:

Queen Asuka
Um, wow. That was pretty scary, haha. And yeah, my husband would be all like, "DIE DIE DIE!" I'm really looking forward to a future baby shower. My sister's was a lot of fun back in February because my mama made some awesome food and we didn't do stupid games. It was just family chillin' together and having a good laugh while engorging ourselves. I HAVE been to plenty where they do games. I like the diapers with the melted candy bars and you have to guess what candy bar you have or something by tasting it, haha. GROSS.
ChibiHorsewoman
Well I can give you a list of don'ts for a baby shower (congrats By the way when are you due?) DON'T Play a lot of 'nursery themed games Have a theme Let some random Otaku-er jump from a cake (Who really cares what the husband/boyfriend/fiance will think? Just the thought itsself is traumatic) Have a lot of alcohol (1.) you can't enjoy it and 2.) people will rub it in your face Play any games period... God those are so annoying! Sit in a metal folding chair when you are 8 months along wearing this formerly cute maternity dress that just insisted on creeping everywhere (Lessons learned my friend, lessons learned) As for do's.. uh get a cake, a commode (potty chair) for yourself to sit on while you open gifts and get the epidural... those things rock! ;) (Uh... this would be in the delivery room... By the way for that make sure your husband loses the laptop. And if he won't let your mom whack him with Oprah's magazine) And PS: Get some poise pads... after the fifth month you're a leaky faucet

Queen Asuka
If there was alchohol at my baby shower, I wouldn't mind, because I don't drink anyway, and I'd let my family have a good time if they wanted. :) And my husband doesn't have a laptop? >_>
neko Misty
I just went 2 a baby shower a few days ago. spent most of it feeling profoundly bored. :sleepy: the only time I really perked up was when they said we could start eating the food. :tasty: the only reason I go 2 baby showers and weddings is 4 the food... weddings just remind me of how I thought I'd b married by now, and baby showers remind me of how loudly my biological clock is ticking. who needs that? :animedepr :animeangr I could've used some alcohol, but they didn't serve any. :alcohol:
neko Misty, please don't use abbreviations like 2 instead of two or 4 instead of for. It's not that hard to spell things out fully and doing so makes it a lot easier for others to understand what you are trying to say. So please work on improving your posts. Also, If you have any questions, feel free to pm myself or another member of the staff. ~SunfallE
