[SIZE=1]I was wondering about the Genesis Corporation; do characters need anything specific to be in it? Like a certain background (even though that's no in the sign-up), personality type, power?

I was thinking of having that as my character's occupation, but I wasn't sure what to expect from the corporation. I mean, I don't want to know lots and lots of information, just wondering is there's anything that could be useful that wasn't mentioned? I'm still a bit iffy about the occupation, because I don't like joining organizations or anything in RPGs (it's out of my comfort zone, something I didn't create, not really sure what to expect XD ).

Slap me if I'm talking in circles though =p

[SIZE=1]Heh, you raise an interesting point here, Vick.

The Genesis Corporation is still somewhat of an enigma - it is kind of ambiguous whether it is really "good" or "evil" - it's basically a group of people doing what they feel is necessary for the good of the human race (both super-powered and otherwise). Kind of an "end justifies the means" scenario. They might have the best intentions in the world, but it is rare for them to carry out their agenda in the most moral way possible - they are perfectly willing to sacrifice one for the good of many, for example.

I find that the ambiguity could make for an interesting story - if no-one (including me) is totally sure of the Corporation's agenda, then it just adds fun to the story when we find out!

This feels like an unbelievably crappy answer - I don't know if I've helped or not, let me know if not and I'll try to explain myself better.

Ok then, so the Genesis Corporation is pretty much a mystery to everyone until something happens. Will those who are working for them trying to find out something that might be happening withing the system or just go about doing their jobs?

[B]Gavin[/B], how far you can take a power very much depends on the power itself. For example, I don't want characters who are (for example) pyrokinetic and they can make enough fire to destroy a city block, but if you are looking at the healing side of things, then the sky's the limit really. It's totally up to you whether your character can only heal some wounds or they can regrow entire limbs. I trust your judgement, Gavin ;).

Is the corporation itself owned by a political force, like the U.N., or is it owned by a group of individuals like the Company in Heroes? Or are the peons even trusted with such information?

Oh and btw, gotta say thanks for making this RPG in the first place (er... that is if I'm accepted, I guess), I was thinking of making a Heroes-type RPG (especially after seeing the second season beginning) but didn't think I'd be up to it.

EDIT: Also, how does everyone find their pics? I've just been using google image but the only thing I've found even close was a pic of Cloud. And would it be alright to use real pics?[/COLOR][/SIZE][/FONT]

[size=1]Just a quick question on the first power I've considered. Essentially, I envision a character like Spider-Man, only without the webs and the wall-sticking ability. So, super strength, increased speed, flexibility, agility and so on. I immediately thought it too over-powered but I figure it couldn't hurt to ask.

[B][SIZE=1]YawnBoy[/SIZE][/B][SIZE=1], the Corporation is non-government funded, meaning, yes, rather like the Company in Heroes it is owned by a group of individuals - more will be revealed about these individuals as the story progresses. Also, no problem - I was inspired by the opening of season two of Heroes as well - and I'm sure you would be up to it after seeing the quality of your sign-up. Just need to have more faith in yourself.

[B]Andrew[/B], while the idea of the Spidey-type powers is a reasonable one, I'm just worried that having all of those abilities will be a little much for one character. If you can come up with some kind of power that encompasses all of those which you mentioned then I'd be happy for you to create that character.

Just a side note, I will probably be starting this RP within the next couple of days - I will leave sign-ups open for a while during the run of the RP proper, but anyone who signs up after it is started will have to accept their character being introduced at a later point in the story.

[SIZE=1]Alright, the cast list is now in the first post of this thread. I should have the proper game thread up by the end of the week.

In answer to your question, Cyriel, the main bulk of the story will be set in New York City, but there will be little excursions to other locations. This is also not to say that your character has to live in New York City - they can live anywhere in North America.

Also, I have a little something extra planned for once the game starts going properly - it's an idea I've tried out in the past and it hasn't really worked, but with a team of dedicated RPers like this, I think I can make it work this time. So keep your eyes peeled for information.

Also, anyone who wants to do some graphics or anything for this RP then please do - I'm basically talking banners for the Adventure Square thread and this thread, so please feel free to make some up.

[SIZE=1][FONT=Verdana][B]EDIT: [/B]Alright - the Operatives are now trying to find the civilians - Operatives, you will be finding the civilians that are being played by the others - obviously Adam has found Shaylin (Frankie, how the meeting goes now is up to you, but it shoud end with Adam taking Shaylin back to HQ), but the rest of you need to find the civilians as quickly as possible. Obviously there are less civilians than there are operatives, so if you're left without a civilian played by someone involved in the RP, then create an NPC, or find the civilian dead in a similar way to those found dead previously.[/FONT][/SIZE]

After some of the stuff that happened to Adam in my last post, the story will be shaken up a little bit fairly soon, and the identity of the head of GenCorp will be revealed. The only thing I can think of for you to do at the moment is to get used to your new surroundings and interact with a few of the other characters around. It will be open to anyone participating in the RP to post stories or other literature regarding their own characters or new ones. For the Genesis Operatives, these stories could be how you were recruited, or some of your previous objectives. For the civilians, they could be how you discovered your powers, or how you came to terms with them. And they don't just have to be stories either, they can be newspaper articles, poems, song lyrics, anything you want. This is a good way to flesh out the backstories of your characters, as well as introduce new ones, and new elements of the story.[/SIZE][/FONT]
