sakurasuka
[FONT="Arial"][SIZE="1"] This may sound like a rather stupid question, but I figured I'd ask anyhow. Many months ago, I linked myOtaku account to my OtakuBoards account. I never actually logged on to the former, nor was it put to any use. I just never had the time. So, incidentally, I still have the "MyOtaku Last Updated: NEVER" under my title. It's not a major deal that it is there, but I was just curious if it could be removed, since it's not being put to any use. I'm assuming I have to go to MyOtaku un-link the said accounts, but if I have to log in, it may be a lost cause as I no longer frequent the email account I believe I used, nor did I keep a record of the password I decided upon. Come to think of it, if I did not use sakurasuka as my username, I may be lacking that particular tidbit of information as well. Or maybe I can do it from OtakuBoards and I'm just extremely stupid. Boo
[size=1]You can detach your myOtaku site via your [url=http://www.otakuboards.com/usercp.php?][b]myOB [user cp][/b][/url]. Under the menu heading 'Miscellaneous' you should go to the [b][url=http://www.otakuboards.com/myotakuconnect.php?]MyOtaku Connect[/b][/url] item and from there you can detach your account. It's a pretty new feature, which many of us are very happy about. :whoops:[/size]
sakurasuka
[FONT="Arial"][SIZE="1"] I thank you very much. Though, I keep getting a message that says I am not logged on. Do I need to be logged on to myOtaku? [/SIZE][/FONT]
Petie
[FONT=Verdana][COLOR=blue]No, the detach feature alters the OB database and has nothing to do with myOtaku. What is likely happening is that the link is pointing to the full [/COLOR][/FONT][URL="http://www.otakuboards.com"][FONT=Verdana][COLOR=blue]www.otakuboards.com[/COLOR][/FONT][/URL][FONT=Verdana][COLOR=blue] address and your cookies are set for otakuboards.com (no www). The page you're looking for is myotakuconnect.php which you can type manually if the link isn't working for you.[/COLOR][/FONT] [FONT=Verdana][/FONT] [FONT=Verdana][COLOR=#0000ff]I'll also go ahead and add this to the FAQ section.[/COLOR][/FONT]
Desbreko
[color=#4B0082]That shouldn't be a problem if she uses the link in the user cp nav bar. It's a relative link and works from either www.otakuboards.com or otakuboards.com. Are you getting the not logged in error when you try to access the page or when you try to detach your myOtaku account, sakurasuka?[/color]
Petie
[FONT=Verdana][COLOR=blue]Yeah sorry. I was thinking more along the lines of posts in which you can't make relative links (I think?), not the navigation.[/COLOR][/FONT]
Desbreko
[color=#4B0082]Ah, I see. Where you referring to the links in Boo's post? I hadn't even noticed those were links until now. And yeah, you can't do relative links with [url] tags. They force the http:// part onto the front of whatever you put in them.[/color]
Petie
[FONT=Verdana][COLOR=blue]Haha, I didn't realize they were links either but let's say I was referring to them ;)[/COLOR][/FONT] [FONT=Verdana][/FONT] [FONT=Verdana][COLOR=blue]I knew it forced the http:// but who knows, there could have been some custom code that I just wasn't aware of (and actually, probably wouldn't be too hard to make though it would have limited uses).[/COLOR][/FONT]
