BlueYoshi
What are the coolest? My number one comes from the Metroid series, and that's the sound of a Morph Ball bomb being planted, followed by the sound of the explosion, which is equally awesome. I love it because for a bomb, it's a very delicate sound, and compare it to bombs in other games and I assure you they'll sound much clunkier and "realistic". My other favourite is directly from Super Mario World. You know, the one where the black rectangle comes up asking you if you'd like to save after beating a Castle or a Ghost House. However, in my opinion, this sound effect is only complete with the "whistle" that's heard when you do choose to save. I think Nintendo are awesome as far as sound effects go.
Boo
The soundeffects of DOOM I and II. They make you feel awesome. When you pick up a weapon, you really feel "yeah, I've picked up an awesome new weapon, and I'm 'bout to own the evil spawn of hell". Though, especially the BFG9000 has a marvelous sound. The sound of power with no boundaries, except for the amount of ammo you have. The sound of demons exploding and everything really adds to that. ... Oh, and level 32 or 33 of Doom II has Commander Keen sound effects in it.
Shinmaru
My favorite is the classic "You solved a puzzle!" jingle from The Legend of Zelda series. I wish that played every time I got a question right on a test.
Panache
The classic crappy game double step sound. whenever a person takes one step you hear *click click*. Besides that one there is the "UGH" from halo 2-3 whenever you get a kill on someone when it is really quiet and you are a spartan. But the best oen is the sound of female sorceresses dying on ogre battle 64. Sounds like 80's video game porn sounds. AWESOME!

Another good one is most of Link's grunts and yips, especially that fantastic shriek when he falls or dies. It's so unmasculine I can't hep but laugh whenever it comes out of such a cool guy's mouth. "AHTATATATA!" so fast! Sugoi! It's like a machine gun! though I agree his emasculating scream is quite fun. I'd like to bring up the sound when you blow up the thin glowing crates in Halo 2. r even the sound if you stand next to a Ghost or Banshee when it blows. Both do have a chance of scaring the **** outta you though XD
Panache
WAIT WAIT! I forgot the most important one. In digimon world when your digimon takes crap in the toilet...oh man that is hilarious.
Goodbye, Face
Hands down, every noise that comes out of Mario's mouth in Mario 64. If you've played it, you know what I'm talking about. Yahoo! Yipee!!! OooooAaAaAaah!!! And also, all the crazy grunts that enemies do in Doom and Duke Nukem 3D. As Boo said, they're the best.

Aberinkula
My favorte sund effect? The Excalibur laser beam nosie from Ace Combat: The Belkan War. Plus the mexican samba music during the last fight, epic. Another cool video game sound is the sound of spyro's flame during teh PS1 games. As weird as it is to say, I loved those noises. Plus in Crash Bandicoot he made that sound when the mask gets killed. And when he dies and he's like 'whoa!" Good times.
The Spectacular Professor
I just remembered another one. I've been playing an MMO called "Tales of Pirates" lately. It's kind of fun, but one of the weirdest things is the monster sound effects. 3 Words: Deer. That. Moo. Yeah, it's crazy.

That game has to be played by everyone now. Quick, quick, go and play it now. I'm assuming they make more cow noises when slain? My personal favorite sound effect came from Final Fantasy when you complete a battle. The victory theme is just plain awesome. It's actually a ring tone on my cell phone. Classic. I also enjoy the sounds that come out of Metal Gear Solid when they discover you. That's a shocking thing no matter how many times you've played the game. It gets really tense when you play on Extreme with the "game over if Discovered" option on. That makes the game just that more tense. A particularly great sound effect comes out of F.E.A.R. when you implant your poor unsuspecting victim with the nail gun in the face and it plasters him into a wall. That "squish" sound is just too awesome and it makes me want to do the Cyborg "BOOYAH!" from Teen Titans every time I do that. I recommend the game, since it's free, but only if you can stomach a fair amount of engrish, since it's made by a company in the Philippines (it's better than most, admittedly,) and annoying newbies who won't stop party inviting you no matter how often you decline. Allamorph
Halo. First, after hearing a Grunt pronounce "Well, that sucks," after planting a stickie on my friend's face, I could not stop laughing for fifteen minutes. Second, in one of the Halo 3 multiplayer maps there is a female voice-over that says, for Epic Win:
The White zone is for loading and unloading of passengers only. Please do not park in the Red zone.
