It was a hot and bright day on Nightside. There seemed to be no civilization for miles, besides the ruins of a couple of spaceships. Lorely walked the dusty plains, heading for the large ocean in the distance. Since it was an unusually hot day, she was traveling naked. But this was wasn't uncommon for her. What was strange was the sack she was carrying on her back today. She had found it a few miles back, and ever since she got it she had started to see strange things. One of the things she had seen was a ship heading towards this ocean, probably hoping to find one of the cities that survived near the coast. She didn't know if the vision would come true, but she decided to at least check it out and see. If it turned out to be fake, then she could just continue her journey to find more of her tribe.

As the sun was going down however, she got quite a surprise. A ship was heading to the ocean. She turned her slow stride into a jog and headed to the coast. She had to catch that ship. Who knew where it could bring her. Maybe she could use it to find her tribe or even better, get off of this vamtyr planet. Just then a shriek of a vamtyr caught her off guard. Chills went down her spine and she started to run. She thought she saw some movement in the corner of her eye, but she didn't want to stop and look. Then it happened. A black metallic monster with red eyes stood in front of her and raised one of it's claws. Lorely dodged just in time as the claw sank into a rock behind her. As it tried to get its claw out, Lorely ran behind some rock formations to try to lose it. That was too close. After she thought she was far enough, she stopped to catch her breath.

Finally she made it to the coast. The ship was coming down now, so she started to run and wave hoping she would catch its attention.

OOC: Okay guys, it's started. Sorry it took so long. We'll all try to meet up together. However, try to make it a bit interesting if you can. Like not just everyone happens to be in the same place at the same time. Something more like Lorely and Micheal finds you or you find them or both of you end up fighting vamtyrs or something. PM me if you need some ideas.

~Jupiter's Surface~

Lance walked along side his mother, the 5'5'' female traveled in the shadow of her 6'7'' lion hybrid baby. Ever since the Vamtyr's came to Jupiter they restricted visitations from anyone coming from the Lemur Space Station that hovered above the planet. Countless battles have been fought by Lance's tribes to rid themselves of the menace, but all efforts seemed futile as the Vamtyr's army grew more and more every week. Supplies are down and so is moral for the lions. Lance's tail tied itself around his mothers waist loosely, even on his visit their village was patrolled by those mechanical beings of death; already some one Lance's childhood friends and neighbors were killed for trying to rebel.

"Mother, please come with me to the station. These tin cans haven't took it over yet, and its much more peaceful up there. You don't need to be seeing death down here, especially not the ones of our friends and family" Lance broke the silence between the two, they walked the beaten path of the forest that lead to the beach. The teleporters locations were known by all the human women and hybrid lions just in case of emergency, the Vamtyr's could not venture near them thanks to the technology of the space station.

"Lance, I'll be safe down here. I've seen death many moons before you have child, and though it saddens me as long as I know you're safe then that's all I need. You're father would want the same, which is why he left to get help from neighboring planets. Just be patient" Both stopped in front of the teleport gate, Lance knelt on his knee and gave his mother a goodbye. "Just be strong like your breed always has, don't let you human side stop you from doing your job" Lance nodded as he stood up once again and entered the blue array.

~ Lemur Space Station - Orbiting Jupiter ~

Within a second Lance stepped onto the cold metal surface of the Lemur Space Station, waiting there was his friend Zacke who was a lion breed as well.

"Any news from the transmissions?" Lance asked as they both walked through the busy market place of the station.

"We have gotten a couple replies from different planets Lance, but they're in worse shape than we are. Mercury is swarmed and declared dominated when the sun rose today, the asteroid field region is still putting up a fight and staying put. Our best chances would be to head out on our own and..." Zacke was cut off when a Vamtyr walked in front of the two lions, only a couple more inches taller than they were. Both lions extended their claws ans showed their teeth at the creature. "BEAT IT MONSTER!" Zacke roared, without hesitation the mechanical creature left their area. "Until they take over this space station, we rule here" Lance smiled as they continued to walk, eventually the two decided to meet later for diner and talk about their plans there. Lance went to his apartment and crashed on his bed, taking out his little computer from underneath his pillow to send out another coded distress message out to the other planets:

"Lemur Space Station and Jupiter are in dire need of assistance from the Vamtyr's. Lion breed weakening, assistance needed ASAP!" The computer screen went black after the message was sent, Lance turned to his side and drifted to sleep.

The red coated figure sat there. It was on a rock on the barren coast of the sea. She had ran out of water a few hours ago and was starting to get thirsty. Her one leg was bent, and placed on the rock , the other hung onto the coarse sand that littered the beach.

She dipped her hand into the water, its coolness refreshed her and she looked up only to see the red eyes of a metallic beast. They stared at each other for a few minutes before it made an attempt of an attack. She rolled off the rock, splashing into the shallow water as the rock was cut into two from the beast's claws. The beast was supported by four metallic legs, like an over sized dog.

She pulled one of the hand guns form her red coat's pockets. She twirled it, fireing into the vents at the creatures leg joints to allow it to move. It keeled back before falling to the ground in its immobility. Elie moved over to the thing and leaped onto its back. She unsheathed the knife from her belt. She crouched on its back as the Vamtyr arched to try to get her off of it. She stuck the blade into the opening on the plates where its neck would be if human, she ripped it across and the thing sparked and died.

She stood, and found an odd sight. A ship coming into the coast maybe a mile away from her current location. She took off the red coat, the heat now catching up to her and strapped it to the belt buckle on her belt. She walked away in the boot deep water, leaving the creature there to rust there for eternity.

OOC: I forgot one thing- I have not yet thought up a name for Martel?s ship. For now just refer to it as the Alutri Arrow, but I do plan on making an official name.

Oh, and sorry if this is a bit long. I am kind of doing a flyby and slow entry- describing the ship before finally introducing my character. The Arrow is Martel Alutri?s personal ship.

~Lunar Parking Orbit, Alutri Arrow~

A cluster of debris floated in a steady orbit around Nightside?s moon, looking like a fragment of destroyed space station that still had a debris cloud of it?s own orbiting it.

As it continued its orbit, it entered the lunar shadow region. Looking closely, lights could be seen on the center hull- flickering in and out of view as the debris orbiting it passed. An angry yellow and red flame briefly lashed out from one side, while it looked like a dead junkyard at first glance it very clearly was a powered and active ship with station keeping thrusters holding it in it?s orbit.

Soon it crossed back across the lunar sunrise, and as the sun shown down on the hull the junk cloud that had gathered around it suddenly began to disperse, revealing a clean-lined ship?s hull in the center.

~Alutri Arrow, bridge~

Humming electronics, flashing lights. The ship may not look like much, and at first glance seemed abandoned, but it very clearly still had power- and where there was power there could still be life. An indicator flashed on the board near the controls, and nearby a computer screen showed a cycling slideshow of photos as its screen saver. Four empty seats lined the bridge- two near the controls up front, the other two merely passenger seats.

Passing the hatch in the back of the bridge, footsteps could be heard from down the hallway; someone was still alive on board.

~Alutri Arrow, center lounge~

?I wonder if I went and fixed myself out of business.? a plush woman sighed, talking out loud even though there was nobody else on board. She had been laying on one of the lounge couches, staring at the ceiling and listening to the communication channels on the radio in case anyone was looking for repairs to their ship or something. ?At least I will still have onboard power if I run out of helium again, but I will end up stranded if that happens since I won?t have money to buy more.?

She looked to a display panel near the entertainment center; a gauge on the panel was blinking because it was reading low.

Sighing out of boredom again, she shut off the radio in that room and made her way towards the bridge. Sitting down in the captain?s chair, a few adjustments to the controls were made. The computer near her chair awoke from screensaver, and along with the cracking of a sound connection coming through the image of an older man in a white lab coat appeared on screen. ?Martel, are you alright? How have you been??

?I?m fine. Just bored, I?m orbiting the Nightshade moon right now and finding that there really isn?t much work right now. Hopefully I?ll find something before I run out of Helium completely, otherwise I?ll end up owing you guys money again.? Martel answered back, turning her chair to face the computer screen.

?Just be careful. Long-term isolation like this is not good for your mental health, that?s why I talk to you from time to time. But things have been busy here at the station too, we have another project coming onto the prototyping floor and are all busy with it.? The scientist answered her.

?I?ll be fine Dr. Edison. Hopefully someone will call for repairs soon, and I will be back in business. I have enough left to get me to Mars in about a week, so if things stay quiet around here I will head out that way.? She replied back. ?Have you been watching the news feeds? Apparently the Vamtyrs have started to spread to other planets too. I guess Mars is in the midst of an intense war now as people are trying to fight them off, and Jupiter has been invaded too.?

?They?ve been spotted searching near Venus too, but there have not been any observed landings, and no stations have been attacked yet. I didn?t know they had reached Jupiter already, news of that hasn?t reached us yet.? Dr. Edison remarked. Another voice could be heard in the background, it seems he was needed in the drawing room. ?Well, I have to go now. Designs have a problem, and they want me to help fix it. Take care of yourself Martel. We all miss you here on the station.?

?You take care too Dr Edison. I?ll be around the system, contact me at any time. You are right about being alone all the time not being good for someone, I feel it from time to time when I don?t have enough work and nobody else on here to keep me company.? Martel answered back. The computer screen went back to desktop as the doctor disconnected- a picture of her at about age 14 standing next to the blueprint of the ship that was now hers, the background being the entertainment center of the Lounge on board the ship. This ship was a design she made when she was only 10 years old, and after the prototype was proven so useful for freight hauling and long-range passenger service it was only fitting that when she left the station the station director gave her the original to keep.

She turned on the radio again and leaned back in the chair, for all it?s junkyard outer appearances the interior of the ship was very well furnished with comfortable furniture and recently updated technology. Hopefully someone would broadcast a distress call, needing his or her ship repaired. Then she would have work, and would have money again when they paid her for the repairs.

In the darkness of space, the warmth of a sun could not reach the planets past the asteroid belt of this system. It was cold and barely habitable by any race, save for the technology they developed to have space stations here and there. But, an alien technology was now entering this system, one of the Ash'Tar. Its small, sleek form was odd considering the luminating blue that was coming from the wings of this ship, and the pointed, beak-like shape of the head of the ship. If you were to look into the tinted shields that were over the cockpit then you would see no one in the seat driving, but you would see all the levers and buttons being used to maintain its current heading.

This would have been a scary sight for any other race, if they didn’t know of the Ash’Tar and of their psionic link. The controls continued through their constant changes and redirection through a new system. Brash’una was in the back of the ship, checking on things that he needed to monitor manually for the time being. He turned around swiftly, revealing the three tubes coming out of the back of his head that we’re connected to the roof of the ship. Two of the tubes were sending in different liquids into his body, the third was pulling out waste material from his body that his cells were releasing into his body.

Brash’una paid no heed to the rubes going about giving him his daily nutrition and continued with his checks, making sure the energy being produced by the experimental Ash’Tar crystal he used. The crystal he was using was self-replenishing and output a rather large amount of excess energy which powered his ship continuously, the crystal was self-replenishing due to the fact it pulled energy from the universe around it. This was a new thing to the Ash’Tar, mostly because they had only been using crystals that needed constant recharging and sometimes, to be replaced. But this new one they were experimenting with would forever stop the need for the obsolete versions. With this new energy source, they could have ships like his maintain constant patrols around their territory.

But, until Brash’una had proved that the crystals could be maintained for long periods of time, they would remain in the experimental stages. Brash’una worked quickly on the buttons and glowing panels that had touch recognition, along with panels that had psionic recognition that were popping up and then disappearing as quickly as his thoughts did. And with his abnormal power, he could maintain much more of the ships systems without even really trying. All of his systems at this time were functioning at full power and were ever at attention, in case they needed to be used. After his routine checks and marks, he went and rested in the cockpit, watching carefully as the planets were coming closer, as small pieces of planets, comets, asteroids and random parts of long lost ships floated past as he was speeding by.

Brash’una let out a psionic sigh to himself as the tubes from the back of his skull released and then retracted back into the roof of the ship. He let his gaze glide across the shields in front of him, his glowing eyes ever watching, ever seeing. His gift of immense psionic energy was barely being put to use by him, but, he feared its effects if he failed to master control of the new abilities that were being raised up in his mind. So, he would use as much as he could to keep the ship in order while he rest and watched the universe pass him by. Soon enough he began to hear a low, slow beeping noise coming from the control panel. The button activated when his attention was focused on it, a panel appeared on the shield of the cockpit and showed a voice wave coming from a near by planet.

"Lemur Space Station and Jupiter are in dire need of assistance from the Vamtyr's. Lion breed weakening, assistance needed ASAP!" Brash’una wondered who these Lion breed were; this would be a good start for him in an attempt to get to Nightside. Brash’una instantly released his mental control over the ships control and took them in his own hands; he hit a few buttons and pressed the two steering drives forward. The ship lurched forward and raced at a speed only possible to reach with his new energy source. He reacted quickly to the space junk floating and avoided it easily. He soon slowed when the tracking system registered that he was near the source of the transmission. He pulled back the steering drives towards him and maneuvered his ship slowly, finding a space station floating around one of the largest planets Brash’una had seen in this system so far.

He drew closer to the station, looking for a place to dock so that he could find the direct source of the signal. He soon came to a port and locked his ship into place, he casually dressed himself, cloaking his figure in cowl and a piece of cloth wrapped around the front of his face. He then covered up the rest of his body with a full body cloak. He knew it was bad to make first contact with revealing your initial body, it was always better to keep them suspicious but also willing to listen to what he had to say. He had encountered many races that simply took what the Ash’Tar had to say by the way they looked. He wanted these people to think about what he had to say, and accept it, or reject it on their own terms.

As the airlock doors opened and he exited his ship he quickly noticed a large population of creatures that looked cat-like. But somehow retained a more, mortal sense of them, he could see that these would be and interesting race to deal with. He raised his arm up to his face and looked into the device on his arm, it displayed the vicinity where the signal had come from, and he began his trek toward the signal, hoping to find the origin of the signal and communicate with the being who sent it out.

Although the Lemur Space Station maintained its independence from the Vamtyr's, the mechanical monsters didn't stop their rein over them; holding their breeding grounds on the planet Jupiter below hostage until their demands were made. No blood has been spilled yet by the invaders, but their very presence upsets the balance and peace the Lion Breed sought for ever since they colonized on the large planet many moons ago. Ever since former Earth, now know as Nightside, was taken over the inner planets defenses weakened and were crumbled by the mechanical beings. The Asteroid Field was thought to be a fortress of great magnitude if any danger were to come to the outer planets. Alas, they were fooled once again. Lance laid in his bed tossing and turning in a cold sweat, his constantly rolled over his own tail at random periods causing the lion some discomfort. His dreams kept him at bay against his own will, tormenting the lion with visions of their planet turning a dark shade of black like Nighside, the screams of the women that carried the hybrids echoed in his mind. The space stations set ablaze as it fell from orbit and down onto the planet below.

"NO" Lance shot straight up from his bed, his sheets covering his legs as his upper body stood up. His breathing was faster than a human can comprehend as his body shivered from the sweat. The lion took his hand and rubbed his eyes a little to adjust to the light that came from his nightstand, it was late at night and he had slept through the afternoon. Lance looked out of his window to see the artificial sun start to dim, the street lights turned on instantly. The lion left his bed and removed his soaked shirt, still breathing hard as he ruffled his fur and found a new top to wear. There was a small red blinking light coming from the wall of his apartment, the video monitor had a new message for Lance. The lion walked over to the screen and pressed the commands to hear his message, the small bright light stung his eyes for a moment. The screen showed a human woman, around the age of 24 with two lions behind her, one of them was Lance's friend Zacke. The female was about 5'7'' with velvet red hair and

"Lance it's Amber, baby whenever you get this give up a call. We're thinking about heading out tonight to Club XS, I'm buying drinks tonight so it's all good. Come out hun, we know you've been feeling down lately so we thought you could use a night to let loose. Love ya babe" The message ended when then screen went blue and slowly faded to black. Lance began to dial Amber's number, but the line was busy. He decided to leave a message.

"Amber, I'll be there shortly hun. See you soon, and don't get too trashed before I get there" With that Lance hung up his call and grabbed his little computer from under his pillow before left his apartment building, walking down the busy streets seeing lions and human females alike talking and going about their lives. During his walk to the club he did hear interesting things from other Lion's conversations.

"Did you hear, a space ship docked here a couple hours ago..."

"There was this cloaked being that came out of the docking area, he looked scary..."

"I hear the Vamtyr's were inspecting it without the permission form the Lion Court. When will they be leaving?..."

More and more talk about the ship interested Lance, before he could think about it further Lance made it to his destination. He paid the cover charge and went inside, the building was packed tonight, 2 floors of dancing and several bars to quench the thirst of any beast. Lance went over to the bar and ordered a drink, unknown to Lance the computer in his back pocket lit up and beeped continuously.

~Alutri Arrow, Bridge~

The radio continued chattering off the transmissions of the nearby ships, and then all fell silent as the planetary distress signal from Jupiter passed through the area. Martel had fallen asleep in her chair, bored right into it from lack of work. Her ship didn’t miss it though, and recognizing the signature of the distress signal an alarm on the control board began sounding, the message having been recorded.

“Of all the times to fall asleep. I probably missed my customers.” Martel exclaimed as she realized where she was. Checking over the controls, she noticed that a message had come through that may interest her. Unfortunately it wasn’t, her ship was not correctly fitted to respond to planetary distress calls. Though if she really wanted to take a chance, she could load the cargo bay with provisions, and try selling them at the station near Jupiter.

What was good news about it though, is that means other ships that had been parked nearby would be starting up their engines to mount a relief effort, and some of those ships might need to be serviced before their jump to Jupiter.

“This is the ZX-92A. We have a single engine startup failure, requesting priority mechanic to repair for planetary relief mission. Currently in Lunar orbit level 4 sector 27” Came a voice crackling over the radio, one of a rising number of communications breaking the silence after the distress call had come through. This was all standard procedure, after a distress call of the magnitude of a station or planet all ships were to enter radio silence except to organize a relief effort or request repairs so that they could participate in one. Already her competitors were plying the radio channels, ships owned by companies like the Flying Wrench and the Airspace Angels were responding to calls like that. None of them seemed to be near where the ZX-92A was though.

“This is Martel of the Alutri Arrow, requesting repair detail negotiation of ZX-92A single engine startup failure by private channel.” Martel signaled on her radio. Soon her computer’s screen lit up, the chief engineer of the heavy cargo on screen.

“Martel, good to see you again. How’s business been?”

“Dead up until a few minutes ago. What kind of repairs do you need?”

It’s not much really, there was a short circuit in the slipstream coil and it damaged the control boards. We’ve got a spare coil to put in but don’t have a spare control to use with it.” The engineer said.

“I’ve got the control board, good thing you have a coil since I usually can’t get those. At my normal rates plus the control board, it would work out to about 100,000.”

“Sounds fair, that’s cheaper than Flying Wrench would do it, and I know you put care into your work too. What’s your position?”
“Lunar parking orbit, level 4, sector 22, On my way.” Martel answered. Putting a code into a small panel near the main controls, she began operating the switches and levers as the fission core’s temperature increased, the main turbine increasing speed as well to keep up with the increasing electrical load. Soon the main jet activated, sending her on her way.

~Alutri Arrow, half an hour later.~

The communications channels had gone back to their usual roar, except for a few stragglers the relief mission was already into slipstream on their way to Jupiter.

Martel sat in her chair again; counting how much money she had left from that. The helium tanks had been filled again, and she still had about half of what she had earned available to buy supplies for herself.

I really should get a slipstream coil for this ship, but even the junkyards want over a million for one. If I did get it though I would have a lot more customers, because I could reach them faster. She thought, pocketing the wad of cash.

Much to her surprise, she got a close flyby from another ship- one bearing the mark of a pirate. It seemed that after all the mercenary and bounty hunter ships had left the area for Jupiter, the pirates had come out of hiding.

“Today is totally not my day.” Martel remarked, soon feeling the deck shudder as her ship was grappled so the pirates could force the docking rings.

As the artificial sun set and the streets light kicked in, Brash'una kept stalking through the streets. He got glances from most of the people that he passed by, and got more then glances from all of the Lion breed. He noticed on a few of the Lions that they had their claws ready to take him out, he simply ignored them, he knew they would only attack if he proved to be a threat. So, he kept to his duties and kept tracking the computer that was letting out this secret distress code that was being broad casted through out the system.

His detector on his wrist had told him that there was a foreign entity trying to gain access to his ship. When this had happened he pulled back his cowl and tapped a few buttons on his detector and pulled out a cord with a suction cup on the end and connected it to the back of his head. Allowing him to directly connect with his ships computer, he quickly went through several folders before finding his A.I. program he had created along his trip. He activated it and let the ship make an automatic upgrade to make the program compatible with the ships systems.

He let out a chuckle in his head as the computer responded quickly to the new A.I. and how quickly the A.I. was already adapting to the ships systems and abilities. He waited a few moments before send direct links to the ships mainframe and see how the A.I. responded.

"Program 625987-23896, are you fully operational and ready?"

"Yes Brash'una, I am ready. And please, call me Adun. Being called by my program code is so desensitizing." Brash'una let out a psionic laugh through the link.

"You are quite the quick A.I. Adun, I am glad to have you aboard the ship. Now, there are some lifeforms that are attempting to search you, take care of however you can, but be discreet about it. You should know by now that the ship isn't equipped with weapons of any kind, but he is the fastest one you'll find in all of these systems. So, use that how you can, you do have all of our war tactics on file."

"Yes Brash'una. I will do whatever I can do to make sure these beings do not get a hold of our technology."

"Good, I will have radio silence until I find the source of the signal. Until then, stay safe Adun." Brash'una quickly removed the cord from the back of his head and it quickly retracted back into his detector. He covered his head and started following the signal once again, soon finding out that the signal had transfered from a stationary post to a mobile one. He made sure to keep track of it as it quickly became stationary again, with minor movement here and there. When he arrived at its current location he found a nightclub with the name Club XS.

He looked at the line of people trying to get into this nightclub, he tried first by just walking in without paying attention to the bouncer out front. He quickly got stopped at the door and sent back, he quickly resolved to just paying the bouncer and entering the club without any trouble from the rest of them. He quickly looked around and found tons of Lion breed dancing and drinking, and spotted several Vamtyr's patrolling through the crowd. They wouldn't try anything since they were clearly out numbered and would clearly be mutilated by these creatures if they were to attempt anything.

Brash'una quickly moved through the crowd and followed his detector to the source, the beeping soon became more rapid as he grew closer. The beeping soon hit a flat tone as he stood beside a mount size Lion breed that was simply enjoying a drink with a human woman. Brash'una reached out and placed his head on the creatures back, instantly establishing a connection with his mind. The Lion breed instantly turned around and looked at the being standing behind him, looking down at him with his cat eyes. Brash'una held up one of his hands to the creature.

"Hold fast Lion breed, I am simply here due to your distress call." Lance looked at Brash'una oddly.

"How is it your voice sounds, distant even when you stand before me?" He yelled over the noise of the crowd.

"I am speaking telepathically to you." He reached up and pulled down the cloth that covered his face, revealing he didn't have a mouth or facial features besides eyes.

"As you can see, I cannot speak to you physically, but psychically I can easily. Now, we must discuss your situation with this Vamtyr infestation. I will wait for you until you are ready to leave." Brash'una stood back against the bar, keeping himself hidden from the masses that could be hiding Vamtyr's in their midsts. He recovered his face to further hide himself.

OOC: Ill be away until Monday, so I am posting my next segment now. So far I haven’t met up with anyone yet. Probably when I come back though I will get more into the main story.

~Alutri Arrow, turret control~

Martel had managed to slip into the hidden compartment near the docking rings before the pirates succeeded in forcing the airlock, for safety she did have a suit on in case the locks burst. On the turret cameras she could see them coming aboard- three rough and ruthless men, they immeadiately set about tearing apart her ship to find parts. First thing that happened is they came floating through the docking ring, and smashed hard into the wall opposite it because of the lack of gravity in that part of her ship.

I get everyone with that trick. Likely my ship is the only one to not have gravity near the docking rings. Martel thought, operating the controls inside the compartment. Soon ¾ of her ship was without power, the pirates having been trapped inside an empty cargo bay with the door power cut off so they couldn’t escape. They began pounding on the door to try and get out again, setting off the emergency blast door.
HAHAHAHA! They always fall for it, checking every compartment without fail, and the empty trunk in that bay makes them go in to investigate it.

A gunshot could be heard, one of the pirates was trying to shoot his way through the door. Kind of pointless really, with the blast doors closed you would have to detonate a crate of dynamite to force your way out.

Smiling wide, she floated gracefully through the docking ring, landing on her feet when she reached the gravity field of the pirate’s ship. “Odds are they have more men aboard, no sane crew would leave their ship unmanned on such a raid.”

Moving quickly, she followed the wear marks in the floor down to their cargo hold. Footsteps could be heard on board, there was in fact crew aboard and they were likely scrambling to suit up and recover their companions.

I wonder what kind of loot they have, if there might be anything worth something aboard before I turn this lot over to the cops. She thought, examining the markings on the crates. Most of them were contraband, stuff like drugs, illegal foods and weapons, along with ship parts that were no longer legal or safe to use. There was some usable stuff though, and the marking on one of the boxes caught her eye.

“A KN2 Slipstream coil!” She exclaimed on seeing the crate. Peeking inside, the coil was in fact still in there, and as luck would have it a KN2 coil is the coil that was used in the production versions of her ship. I wonder if it is still in working order.

She was rattled out of her excitement as a gunshot from the entrance shattered a nearby crate, the bullets that were inside that case scattering across the floor as she ducked behind a crate containing an engine cone. From a pocket hidden on her left thigh, she pulled out a revolver, and waited for the man to come in closer to her so she could get a clean shot.

“Stupid bitch! Youd best be showing yourself if ye value your life. Otherwise we find you and kill you for what you did.!” The man shouted, speaking a broken and heavily accented English. He came closer to where she had knocked over a stack of crates, and promptly found himself with the business end of her revolver centimeters from his face.

“Throw down your gun and put your hands in the air!” She shouted at him, the man seemingly embarrassed complying. Producing a few zip-ties from a pocket of her suit, she formed a pair of handcuffs, and put them on him. “Your friends are in a cargo bay aboard my ship, and there they will stay until the police patrols get here to collect you lot.”

She grabbed his arm roughly and with the gun at his back marched him towards a small room she had passed on her way into the ship, after throwing him inside and closing the door the control board was destroyed by a bullet, sealing him inside for the time being.

Back to the loot that was now hers, she set about picking through their horde. Anything that was legal to possess and might be useful she attached an iron plate to, and pushed into the airlock. The shield on her ship was active, and soon had several crates of goods orbiting in its magnetic field.

What a rude bunch, the only thing they had that is really worth something is the slipstream coil and the logic board that controls it. Everything else is either contraband or just plain broken.

Sliding back through the docking rings, she noticed that the captured pirates had given up trying to force their way out. Going to her ships own cargo bay, she passed through the airlock, and was soon orbiting in the magnetic field of her ships shielding because of the iron in her suit’s backpack. It didn’t take long for her to get all the crates she had taken into the lock and cargo hold, mostly it was food but there was also the slipstream coil, and a few crates of pipes and plates. Closing the lock, she removed her suit and radioed out for a police cruiser to come collect the pirates, who a little research on their faces revealed that they were actually a bounty- a low one, but still worth something.

To think these fools actually had a slipstream coil that would fit my ship. She thought, going to the cargo bay with a portable radio on her belt so that she could play with her new toy while waiting for the police to come collect the thugs.

~Alutri Arrow, Bridge~

By the time the police had taken away the pirates, awarded her the bounty, and a freight tug had come to collect the old pirate ship, she had already gotten the slipstream coil installed, and would soon have her computer configured to be able to use it.

Finally, no more having to hitchhike by riding piggyback on other ships when I want to go see the other planets. I should have insisted that they put a slipstream coil in this ship after the turbine refitting a few years ago. Probably be a lot better off now if I had.

The Alutri Arrow had moved, it was now in Lunar Parking orbit, level 8 sector 30. It wouldn’t take long if she wanted to, to get out of the lunar parking area and into free space, where she could test out the slipstream. Maybe I should go towards Jupiter and do what I can for the relief effort. I did get all that food, and doubt I will eat it all myself before it goes bad.

After days of simply drifting through space, Micheal and his ship came tearing through the atmosphere of Nightside. Micheal had been sleeping through much of the trip. The sudden shock of the ship breaking the atmosphereic barrier however had managed to jog his lazy ass up. Looking out, he could see he was coming down just how he wanted to. Right on the water.

He took his place at the helm of the ship and pulled up on the controls, turning the nose up and slowing his decent. He could see the glow of hot, burning flames as he broke through. Since he had neither fuel nor much experience with this kind of landing his decided technique was, wing it and pray alot. It seemed like it was taking forever, even though he knew in reality it was only a few short minutes to the planets surface, even from this height.

When he finally hit the water he hit it with a force that almost completely submerged the ship. Fortunately the boyancy of the hull mangaed to bring it back up. Things seemed to have worked out in his favor. He could see the shore line from where he was. He used the camera to zoom in on the shoreline to see if he could see where any other ships might be set up. He would need to find one if he was going to borrow some fuel so he could get back off the planet. But as he took a close look at the planet he noticed he could see someone on the shoreline waving at him. It was a woman.

Unfortunatly there was nothing else around her. Maybe she was one of those nomads who still lived on this cursed planet. Micheal was certainly curious, but first he had to work out how he was gonna make it all the way to shore. Sure he could see it, but it was at least a kilometer off. That was a hell of a way off and he was in no mood to swim quite that far.

He tried seeing if he couldn't just get a little push from the engine to get him to shore, but it didn't seem to be working. He was moving but not that quickly. Suddenly there was a burst and the ship lunged forward out of the blue. It seemed like a stroke of good luck. Now he was definitly close enough to reach land. He jumped up from the pilots seat and left the cockpit in a hurry, heading for the air lock. He popped the large metal door open and looked out over this alien world. He may have been born here, but he had no memories of this ever being his home. He may as well have been on jupiter for as familiar with it as he was.

He jupmed down from the air lock door into what was waist deep water. The girl on the shore line ran over toward him excitedly. This excitement wasn't long lasted, when Micheal was confronted with the last thing he really wanted to see. Just beyond the rocks of the shore line, there it was. It's twisted, black metal body and those ominous red eyes, a vamtyr. Micheal drew his handgun and pointed just beyond the girl, shouting "Get down!"

The girl was startled by the sight of his gun and ducked without bothering to turn around. Micheal popped off three rounds at it's head. The monster let out a shriek and Micheal popped it twice more at the weaker joints in it's neck. The metal mostroscity flopped over from the rock and landed on the sands, not moving. This was a bad start.

OOC: Sorry for the late post.

About an hour after his arrival Lance met up with his friends, had a couple of drinks and danced with them on the floor. The music was alive and swayed the crowd with favorite artists and genres of music they all enjoyed, when the night continued to drag on the small group of friends went back to the bar. Zacke and his companion went to the second floor to get something to munch on, while Lance and his female friend Amber stayed where they were.

"Lance, is everything o.k? Lately you've been making a lot of trips to the surface below, it's getting more and more dangerous as these things show up and multiply. I know you're worried about your mother, but we have enough troubles up here as it is, the stations defense is weakening like the lions on Jupiter. I just don't know how long we can last now a days" Amber's words hit Lance hard, no one liked to talk about how their race was slowly falling apart. It never brought a smile to anyone's face, all the distress calls have been answered by the fellow outer ring planets and their resources were slowly withering away. Amber moved closer to Lance, standing besides the large muscular lions for some comfort, Lance placed his hand around her waist and held her tight.

"I know, but I just have to make sure she's alright. Since those things came we lost so many lion cubs while they were training and women from random village attacks. My mother isn't safe down there and she continues to stay while others are moving up here. She's a stubborn one" Lance took a swig of his drink quickly before it got cold, he almost spat the contents in his mouth out when he noticed some of the Vamtyr's roaming the club. There were only three that he saw, but even one was an annoyance to the crowd, but they were ignored since they were obviously out numbered three to a building full of lions. Thats when Lance felt something hit his back, semi rough but strong enough to get the lion's attention as Lance turned around and looked to see who was there. His eyes looked down to see a cloaked figure looking into his eyes.

I will wait for you until you are ready to leave." With that the mysterious being cloaked himself and went into the shadows, Lance was speechless as he dug into his back pocket for his computer seeing that his distress call reached a couple of beings across then galaxy. He wasn't expecting any of them to answer so quickly though, Lance was brought back to reality when Amber placed her hand on Lance's arm shocking the lion a little.

"Lance, what's the matter?"

"Nothing, listen I have to go. There's someone I need to have an important talk with, I'll see you at work tomorrow Amber" With that Lance took out some currency to pay for the drinks they had for the night, he gave Amber a kiss on the forehead before making his way to the exit. His tail swished from side to side as he made his way past the dancing lions and human females, Lance looked behind himself giving the slightest nod. It was enough for the being to begin exiting as well. Lance finally made it outside and began his walk back towards his apartment, the street lights were brightly lit showing the path to any direction he was to head to, Lance's ear popped up when he heard steps walking along side of him. "You're a quick one"

"It's only natural Lion Breed"

"My name is Lance, I'm a communications operative here on the station. Its how I learned to send out those urgent calls without being caught by these monsters that plague our home." Lance stopped dead in his tracks as they made it outside of Lance's apartment, he turned to face the cloaked creature. "What I need to know before anything else is said, can you help us? You've seen how these things operate here, you know they won't attack thanks to their minimal forces on the station. But I need an honest opinion.....how long do we have?"

"Thats unknown at this point Lio-Lance. Your race has the longest record for staying independent this long so I've heard. I was venturing to Nightside until I heard your call for help and you know how bad things are there. I'm called Brash'una, this is my first interaction with your kind...it's very interesting indeed. " Lance didn't get the clear answer he wanted as his ears lowered and his facial expression saddened, but at least it was honest.

"Please, come in. I'm sure I can answer any questions you have and vice versa" Lance escorted the being inside the building. Both reached the floor where Lance resided, only to see the door broken into, nearly shattered to pieces. "What in the world...." Before Lance could finish, he was sent to the wall with a claw holding him by the throat, Brash'una backed up before the other claw could get a hold of him. The apartment building had been evacuated by the Vamtyr's when they discovered a weak signal source coming from the building, they last traced it to Lance's apartment. The mighty lion gave a vicious roar before extending his claws and grabbing onto the mechanical arm that pinned him to the wall, trying to pull it away from his throat to get air.

Okryuu layed in bed for a long time that morning. He had had this odd feeling, like something was going to happen today, something important. He had no idea what, and it almost made him afraid to get up and find out. Almost.

He got dressed quickly and sprung out of his quarters to face the rest of the resistance group. Their base looked like a machine graveyard; it housed some of the most advanced, destroyed machinery known the the human race, most of which worked somewhat. THe place itself was run down and destroyed. It hadn't earned the title of the Slums for nothing.

Unfortunately for the young woman and man, more Vamtyr had accompianed the fallen one. As one attemtped to pounce on the woman, another voice caught her attention.

Looking around he sighed and grabbed a bite to eat. Shoving a stack of pancakes onto his plate he called his friend Ramero over to him. Ramero knew about everything that went on around the resistance, he was essentially the supervisor of the grounds. Okryuu smiled at his friend as he walked over.

"So, you need me for anything today?" Ramero patted him on the shoulder and chuckled while stealing one of his waffles.

"No, actually. Today's rather uneventful. Our leaders are strategizing, at least, so they say, and everything around here is actually working!" The two laughed in unison, and Ramero started up again.

"However, as much as I'd love to stay here and enjoy our day off together, I already have plans. You should consider taking that walk along the beach you'd been planning for a while now." Okryuu nodded as his friend walked off and felt that strange pang in his chest again. Maybe he was meant to go to the beach? He sighed and finished his breakfast.

"Alright, guess I should go see what's calling to me." He through his tray onto the trash bin, and ran off to the exits.

A couple minutes later...

Okryuu had heard the gunshots from over the hill, and had just rushed to the scene where the man from the ship, and the young girl were standing. He raised an eyebrow in confusion, but quickly put that thought aside as another Vamtyr went after the girl. He raised his gun and yelled.

"Cover you head!" After the voice faded, a massive explosion type sound was heard, and shattered Vamtyr flesh sprayed everywhere. The man and to the girl looked to see where that shot had come from. Downwards on the beach, behind a long gun barrel, stood Okryuu. He smiled and ran over to the woman, shooting the Vamtyr again in the face as he helped her up.

"Ello! My name's Okryuu." "Behind her!" Came the guy's voice from the water, as he shot the Vamtyr again in the chest. The Vamtyr staggered back a couple steps and crashed to the ground. The man ran over to where Okryuu and the woman were located.

"And mine is Micheal---" His sentence was interrupted by a loud roar, which subsequently was interrupted by the sound of gunshots; more specifically, the sound of Okryuu's and Micheal's guns. Finally down for the count, the two turned to the young lady politely and spoke in suprising unity.

"And your name?" She stared at them with wide eyes, still in shock from the recent violence. She answered softly.

"L...Loreley." Okryuu smiled at the young girl- she was cute, and very innocent. It was actually only then that he realized she wasn't wearing anything. He didn't have time to dwell on that, though. The other Vamtyr were upset by the fall of the brethren, and now a couple were sorrounding them. Okryuu smiled again at Lorely.

"Leave them to us, yah?" She smiled and nodded in frightened agreement. Okryuu then turned to Micheal.

"Ready to take them?" Micheal sighed and spun his guns around.

"Not paticularly..."

Lorely started to run to the ship as Okryuu and Michael fought the vamtyrs.
"Not that way, I need to find some sort of city." Michael yelled after Lorely.
Lorely turned around, not sure where to run. Although she knew it wouldn't protect her, she jumped into the water for the feeling of safety it would bring at least. She waded in the water, keeping her bundle up and watching Okryuu and Michael fight off the vamtyrs. Soon, they all lay dead.
"Let's get out of here before anymore come. I have a vehicle nearby." Okryuu said.
Lorely followed them both. She got in the vehicle, followed by Michael and then Okryuu took the driver's seat.
"You could really use a weapon, Loreley. I'll see what I can do about it if you want."
They took off with a sudden start. After driving for a few minutes, Okryuu asked:
"So where are we heading?"
"I don't know the area. Just any decent sized city should be fine." Michael answered.
"Sure, I think I know of one."
Lorely looked behind them. She turned around suddenly.
"We've got trouble!" She yelled.
Michael looked back. More vamtyrs. This time they were of the spider variety, so Okyruu tried to out run them. Still, Michael opened fire just in case. Then, after the spiders fell behind a single dog type ran after them. It was gaining fast. It rammed the back of the vehicle and nearly flipped them over. Michael fired and killed it just in time.
"That was close." He said with a sigh of relief. "Hopefully that will be our last run in with them for a while."
However, none of them knew that Loreley had seen all of this up to this point. Thanks to her strange bundle she was carrying on her back, she already knew what was going to happen up to this point. The rest would be a mystery until she unwrapped the bundle again.

OOC: Sorry for making it so short, but not sure how you want your vehicle described, Omega. Also I don't know what exactly you need for your ship, Starwind.

OCC: Sorry for the really late post, internet has been down for a while.

Lee looked around what used to be her home town and growled in frustration at her lack of ability to protect the ones that lay beneath her feet now. She Looked up at the sky an sighed as the memories flooded back. She shook them away and stradled her bike and fired it up when she felt the hair on the back of her neck prickle. She spun and growled as a young man standing behind her. She growled louder when he approched and smiled.
"What do you want?"
"I want you to listen."
"And if I refuse?"
"That is your choice."
"Good."
She put the hammer down and left a trail of dust behind her as she sped off toward her next destanation which she never knew; she was a drifter and didn't like to be in one spot for to long. She looked up as the sun moved through the sky infront of her, where she was going she wasn't entirely sure but something seemed to be pulling her in the direction she was moving in and there was nothing she could do.

(Not really sure what to post, hope that will do for now.)

As the vamtyrs were holding Lance by his throat, Brash'una quickly observed the area around them seeing the destroyed door and the hall way had clear indications that the vamtyrs were here before they even entered Lances room. As Lance was digging his claws into the mechanical creatures robotic arm, another came up swiftly and had snatched Brash'una by the shoulder. Brahs'una was quick enough to tear away from the vamtyr, but it tore his cloak away form him and revealed his whole figure. Showing the relics on his body that he used as armor, his thin waist and barrel chest were exposed to all the vamtyrs to see. His primal thought was to hide himself from them before they could firmly assimilate his races looks into their memory banks.

With such a tense situation and so much psionic energy at his control, his instincts took control and all the gems on his armor flared then disappeared as he turned completely invisible. Lance saw him vanish and growled a little, Brash'una could tell he felt betrayed and that he was a cowered. He didn't worry about his thoughts as of right now, his only concern was to eliminate these vamtyrs before they took Lance away. He quickly creped around the vamtyr still holding his cloak and summoned his energy blade from his right arm. The flash of raw psionic energy focused into a physical thing was enough to cause the vamtyrs to look at the source. It was far to late for the one Brash'una was standing behind. He quickly removed the mechanical monsters head with one quick sweep.

He then summoned another blade from his left wrist and his invisibility suddenly failed and he was standing in the hall way, his stance in the proper formation for a small area to fight in. The vamtyr was about to move toward Brash'una to kill him when it found it was stuck. It tried to pull its arm away from Lance and found it was being firmly held in place. Lance forcefully tore the arm right off the vamtyr, it reeled back as it inspected the damage then readied itself to kill both Lance and Brash'una. Before it could attack, Brash'una propelled himself forward and cut the vamtyr into two clean pieces. Both fell in opposite directions as the sparks and fluid that circulated through their tubing leaked every where.

The energy weapons on Brahs'una's arms soon vanished and he stood before Lance in his uncovered form. His frail looking body was about as odd as the featureless face and the weird color of his skin. His hands with two fingers and two opposable thumbs just added to the oddity that was Brash'una. Lance stared for a few moments before speaking up.

"What are you Brash'una?"

"I am and Ash'Tar. We are a highly advanced race that has been traveling the stars for about a century now, sharing what we allow ourselves to share to better the growth of other civilizations. But, before I go on, we must leave at once. These beings have discovered your signal and your life is now in danger. We must head to my ship and leave this station." Brash'una turned to leave the building when Lance reached out and snagged his arm, he found it well toned and muscle built, for looking so frail he was quite well built. Brash'una turned his featureless face towards the lions muzzled one.

"We can't just leave! There are people on this station that i know and love and I need to be here to protect them." Brash'una removed his arm from the lion breeds grip and turned to face him.

"Very well then, if you believe you are of more use on this floating station then eliminating this race of killer machines, then stay here. If you change your mind, please come meet me at my ship. I am docked at port fifty-six alpha, if you are not there within the next three hours, I will be on my way to Nightside, that is where the source of this corruption is, as i've heard." He turned away from Lance and quickly made his way through the building and the walked through the streets, he had to move fast before people could see him. He would hide in the shadows from time to time to avoid detection. He finally reached the port he quickly made his way into his ship.

When he entered he found it clean, now marks or anything from the Vamtyrs. This was impressive considering these monsters were so ruthless. He quickly headed to the control panels and started clicking windows that were on the screens. A cable slowly lowered from the ships roof with a suction cup on the end and Brash'una placed it on the back of his head. He was then hooked up to the computer and a reassuring voice welcomed him.

"Hello sir, did you have a fun time on the station."

"Adun, good to hear you are still operational. Did the vamtyrs get into the ship?"

"I let them in, yes."

"Did you let them leave afterwards."

"Yes. Into space sir." Brash'una let out a laugh through out the ships systems.

"Ah yes, you are a very good A.I. Adun. You will be a very useful and fun companion to have, I am going to disconnect from direct connection, you can transmit your waves to my thoughts now." Brahs'una removed the cable and let it retract back into the roof, Adun quickly started to project his voice into Brash'unas head.

"What is our next move sir?" Brash'una took a seat in the cockpit and relaxed in the seat.

"We wait for our Lion breed freind, he has three hours before we will leave. If he doesn't show, we will continue on to Nightside, hopefully we will find more answers to how these vamtyr have come to existence and how they can be stopped from killing off the human race."

"Very well sir." With Adun waiting and Brash'unas command, they remained dock and waited quietly. Brash'una stared off into the deep recess of space, seeing what connection he could make into the reaches of space he couldn't see. All he could do now was sit and wait patiently.

OOC: Okay, now to think up some way for Sayuri to get to where Micheal is. So far I'm the only one who has both posted in the RPG and specified a specific location on Nightside--currently I can only guess where on Nightside the rest are.
IC:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, so I start my pointless journey to Ear--I mean Nightside--in what used to be Kyoto. I get teased and nearly killed by the civillians, which to my surprise speak English rather than Nihonic. Then I ask for my grandfather's company because he owns a starship. So we leave Nihon for good and try desperately to find another place on Nightside that doesn't look like it's in ruins. Fortunately we don't meet up with any Vamtyrs or anti-space alien people on our travels, but we end up camping out in remote seashores or forests all the time. We fail to find any city worth staying overnight in, and are disappointed by the chaos Earth has fallen into all this time...
Sayuri was thinking about her experience of Nightside so far, whilst checking both her mobile and her little laptop for any signal. But as she was currently located on a small, remote, Vamtyr-free island, getting any sort of electrical signal was nigh impossible. It didn't mean that she was bored and lonely though, as she was still with her grandfather. It was getting towards the end of a sunny day on that island, and Sayuri just sat there talking with her grandfather. If anyone was watching the two of them, the scene would look rather odd--much like a human girl talking to an old humanoid fox. Indeed, "old humanoid fox" almost completely described Sayuri's grandfather. He had pretty much a human figure, except his arms and legs were covered in soft tawny fur, and his hands, legs, and most of his head pretty much matched those of a fox. Indeed he was one of the animal hybrids Sayuri was descended from, though he looked to be half-human as well. ...Or otherwise, half fox hybrid and half, um, elf or something--well, that would make sense given the fact that he was only half as tall as the average human and seemed quite younger than his actual age of 122, but no guarantees...
"So, the day is ending," Grandpa commented as he gazed across the sea.
"Maybe it's about time we should be headed back to Kyoto?" Sayuri requested. "After all, we're I think in the middle of... what is it, the Atlantic Ocean if I remember? Which means Kyoto's on the other side of the globe, practically."
"Eh?" Grandpa seemed a bit confused, for reasons other than old age.
"Practically, erm... dai-ke." Sayuri knew that Grandpa didn't have much of an English vocabulary, so there were many cases like this when she had to translate bigger words for him.
"Taere Kyoto dai-ke da rui yankin-bi pane dansu-na," Grandpa repeated with a little giggle.
"Yes, of course," Sayuri started to giggle as well--partially because her pet snake Treasure licked her ear. Facing the snake, she cooed, "Dai na, sen riesu."
"We should go, then?" Grandpa requested. "You should not waste time calling the snake a treasure if its name is Treasure."
Grandpa then began walking back to his little starship, which looked strikingly similar to a giant empty medicine capsule. Soon thereafter he, as well as Sayuri and Treasure, was seated in the starship, quite comfortable in their seats with just a little room to spare. The back half of the starship had a back seat which Sayuri was sitting in, and opaque walls with little round windows on the sides. The front half was completely surrounded by clear window, and inside were a few control panels and the place where Grandpa sat. At this point, Grandpa began hitting a few switches, pressing a few buttons, in a completely un-senile fashion. For some reason, whenever he was seated in the front of his starship, he seemed to Sayuri to be exactly the still-clever fox he was. Anyways, within a few moments the starship lurched forward and left the ground, gliding out over the sea towards the gradually sinking sun.
"Now to Turbo Mode," Grandpa announced as he prepared to hit another button. Sayuri knew what this meant, and held on tightly to the precious snake in her lap so Treasure wouldn't get hurt. For as soon as Grandpa hit the button, the ship took on an even greater burst of speed, and rose even higher above the water. At that point they were flying about a hundred feet off the surface of the ocean, at roughly twice the speed of sound. (And yet Turbo Mode didn't ever accelerate the ship to its maximum speed.) Waves and currents flew past below in a split second, and the rain from storms made minuscule streaks on the windshield for a little while. All this continued for another half-hour or so...
"Land ho!" Grandpa announced, for there in the distance, he and Sayuri finally spotted land. However, they knew that this was not their final stop; they still had quite a long ways to go.
"...Which means we have to fly higher," Sayuri concluded. But just as she said "higher", the ship wobbled up and down, then slowed down and started flying lower.
"Hei nai da ri..." Grandpa started to stammer as these odd changes occurred. "...Erm, Sayuri? I think that our forward and up motion is slowing. The... electrical force that moves the ship seems to be foltring..."
"It's 'faltering'," Sayuri corrected. "But... my goodness, that can't be good."
"Truly not good," Grandpa agreed. "It means we have to land in the water, then go on shore to find the problem."
And that was precisely what the ship did: it lost more and more altitude until it hit the water, bobbing up and down like a buoy. Fortunately, though, it had enough momentum from the high speed it was flying before to still be moving forward after hitting the water, and to continue forward until reaching the shore. The piece of land that Sayuri and her grandfather had reached included a short stretch of rocky beach and a stretch of dusty plains in the distance. However, unlike their starting point, this area was definitely not remote. A larger starship sat near the beach, and there were a pile of dead Vamtyrs close to the water. More living Vamtyrs were chasing after a vehicle that was heading away from the shore.
"Are those... Vamtyrs?" Sayuri asked, indicating the large robotic creatures.
"Don't ask me," Grandpa replied. "But if they are fighting and robotic, they must be."
Sayuri could tell Grandpa was worried. After all, Grandpa had vaguely heard of the Vamtyrs before, but had no idea what they were like before seeing them at this moment. If they really were robots, that would mean that the weapons Grandpa brought along with him for emergency purposes would be either ineffective or not as effective as they would be on humans, say. Because of this, Grandpa used the last of the ship's usable energy to bring the ship to a stop on a sandy patch behind a pile of rocks, so that it wouldn't be seen by the Vamtyrs. However, as he did so, Sayuri thought she saw one of the people in the vehicle take a look at this newly arrived, capsule-shaped ship.
OOC: This is a long post already, so I'll leave it at this for now. I hope it's all right that Sayuri's grandfather will be with her for a little while, at least until Sayuri leaves with the others.
This was all happening rather quickly. All Micheal wanted was to buy some new fuel rods for his ship. Now he was sitting in some strange kind of car with this random guy who just happend to show up at just the right time and this girl who was completely nude. No matter how far they seemed to go, the vamtyr never seemed to stop coming. Micheal was starting to understand why they call this a vamtyr planet. As the attack seemed to be subsiding, Micheal looked to Okryuu "So what lead someone like you all the way out here to help out a couple of strangers"
The man sitting at the steering wheel of the car turned to Micheal "You needed help. And those damn vamtyr were all over you."
Micheal turned and looked out toward the plains in front of them "So your just a good samaritan, eh? Whatever. I'm grateful all the same. If you hadn't showed up I have no idea what I would have done."
Okryuu smiled a bit. As they drove on something caught the corner of Micheals' eye. Micheal turned to look and saw a weird capsule shaped ship that he hadn't noticed earlier, but at this point he wasn't willing to have Okryuu stop the ship so they could check it out. If there really was a major city near by, then Micheal needed to get there soon so he could get back up and off this hell hole planet.
Micheal wasn't ready to get involved in some battle on this planet. He suddenly became aware of a hand on his shoulder. Micheal turned around and the saw the naked girl with her hand on him and just smiling away at him "Thank you."
Micheal was a bit shocked at first, but he quickly compossed himself again and returned a light smile to her. He turned back around and looked back to the open plains of this planet and thought to himself 'is there really a city way the hell out here?'
Lee stepped down of the bike and looked around the town she was now in, it was quiet but the smell of burning land and a slight scent of blood made her nervous, the vamtyrs had been here and it seemed as if they had fun. She walked quietly and alert as she scanned for anything that she could salvage as food or shelter. She found an old bar and shrugged deciding to use it for the night. She smiled as the smell of aging liquor burned her nose. It was something she hadn't found in a while and was planning on enjoying it when the sound of what she thought was a vehicle approaching, she ducked down and waited silently as the car came and went through the dusty city she was in. It was unlike anything she had seen in her life, and she had been almost everywhere there was to be. She looked around and sighed, suppose there was no use thinking into it to much. She sat back in one of the booths and drank down a bottle of brandy waiting for the sun to rise or something interesting to happen.
Lance rubbed his throat a little, it was sore from the tight grasping claw of the Vamtyr from the earlier confrontation. A couple of minutes after Brash'una left for the port Lance went into his room, all of his personal belongings were tosses and scattered about. His bed and closet were both destroyed, Lance figured they were trying to find the computer that sent out the signal, the one in Lance's back pocket. The lions ears popped up to the noise of distant foot steps coming closer and closer, eventually the sounds echo dimmed at the beings stood in fornt of Lance's door.
"LANCE! Where are ya buddy?" Zacke yelled as he slowly made his way inside, he was followed by the female Amber. She held onto Zacke's tail and followed close behind the other lion.
"In here" They finally met, Amber went and ave Lance a hug as Zacke patted his friend on the back. "Zacke, they found out I was making those transmission...but I can't understand how they got through my system"
"Remember, they've assimilated knowledge from distant planets Lance, they could have eventually found a way to find you. It's a good thing they didn't get to you" Zacke saw the mutilated body of the Vamtyr outside the apartment door. "But you didn't do this alone, did you?"
"No, someone answered my distress call...but now we might have to leave. But I couldn't go without explaining myself to the Lion Court of my actions. The Space Station might be in real big trouble." Lance explained, the trio fell silent for a moment, the time they feared the most was at hand. They knew their actions would cause their family and friends harm but it was their only shot at fighting back and getting rid of the mechanical tyrants. Amber held onto Lance's large hand as tight as she could.
"You have to leave....we can take care of ourselves but you have to go on with this. This being may be able to help us after all. With you on his side watching his back he'll be more safe" Zacke broke the silence, they all were thinking the same thing. "Just, just don't die on us Lance" Zacke said as he made his way out the apartment, he stuck his head out to check and see if the coast was clear before signaling to the others to come out. Quickly they left the building and made their way to the port, the Vamtyr's forces were all over the place, high and low with different types of mechanical bodies.
"Which port number is he at?" Amber asked as she withdrew her pistol from her back holster.
"56-Alpha, it's not too far from here. I think I can make it on my own, you guys are in too deep right now. I don't want you guys to get harmed" Lance said as he gave his final hugs to his friends. Lance knelt down to be at Amber's height, she wrapped her arms around the lions neck and kissed his on the cheek before embracing his hug.
"Come back to me my love" The female let her grip go as she watched her love run towards the port entrance, never to know if he would return back to her. Lance sprinted down the corridors trying to find a ship that didn't belong in the usual spot., after a couple of minutes he found the ship at the right spot. Lance took out his small computer to check the time.
"Made it with an hour to spare" Putting his computer away Lance ran onto the locking platform, he couldn't find a way to enter the ship, it was different than most he's seen before.
~Alutri Arrow, Slightly outside Lunar Orbit~
Martel had guided the arrow through the different parking orbit levels, and emerged in free space. Drifting along at a low speed, she began making the initial startup calculations for the slipstream coil.
She had just gotten all the parameters in, when a radio transmission crackled over the speaker. It was an emergency transmitter device, coming from the direction of Nightshade. According to its transmissions, a ship had run out of fuel and crashed on the planet.
I might as well go take a look, if it?s fixable then I will have a customer, if not they?re probably dead and I can scavenge parts. She thought after the radio fell silent for a minute, but then the message began to repeat. Actually, that would be a nice test run for the slipstream, from here to night side. Using the helium jet alone that would be about a 3-day run.
She sat down and buckled herself into her chair at the controls, picking up the microphone for the radio and keying the transmitter.
?Alutri Arrow, Alutri 1 Martel speaking. Code 66 message received, tracing your coordinates for a landing survey and possible salvage attempt. She radioed out. Even though it was an automatic emergency transmitter, and so far none of the other ships had reacted, if anyone was alive they might answer.
The computer screen lit up with a map, showing a dot on the coastline where the beacon was coming from. It then prompted for a series of codes and coordinates, which only someone who knew the workings of a KN1 or KN2 long-range transport would have known.
After the final number was entered, she put a small key into a slot in the dashboard, unlocking the startup sequence of the slipstream system. As a section of switches and indicators that had never before been enabled powered up, she began to sweat and seemed nervous- if the slipstream coil was bad, she would quite likely find herself floating in space with no suit as her ship destroyed itself around her.
The final switch closed, and from the back end of the ship the systems could be heard spinning up as the power transfer occurred, energizing the coil. There was a slight shimmering in the star field visible out front as the slipstream field emerged, but she was still barely moving- with slipstream engaged the slow drift she had before had her observed velocity now about the same as her top speed with the helium jet alone.
A sigh of relief filled the bridge, so loud that you wouldn?t have expected the lonely girl at the controls to be able to have made it. There was then the clicking of switches and the moving of control levers, and the ship began to accelerate. First, it turned so that the silouette of Nightside came into view.
In a matter of minutes she had figured out the handling curve while in slipstream, ending up in low earth orbit with the slipstream turned off again. Her re-entry curve had been programmed, and soon the forward viewscreen was obscured by the fires of entering the atmosphere.
~Alutri Arrow, coastline crash site, shortly after the ?capsule? ship arrived on scene~
From an observer on the ground, the fireball that had circled a few times had finally slowed down, and was now revealed to be a mid-sized ship. Styled like something out of an old science fiction book, it glided in low and fast over the scene of the fighting, before circling the ship that was beached and the capsule ship nearby it. Finally, the maneuvering thrusters came into play, and it dropped out of flight- touching down with a sizzle on the waves. The front window turned from black opaque to clear, and a young woman was visible inside at the controls. She looked at the people on shore, trying to outrun the vamtyr in some form of car. Reaching up out of sight of the window, she pulled down a gunsight, and a hatch opened in the ship?s nose. Aiming carefully, the newly arrived vamtyrs were dispatched with quick bursts of machine gun fire from the newcomer?s ship, before the gun and it?s sight were put away again.
Martel waved to the strangers outside, then climbed out the hatch in the roof and shouted to them, asking if they needed help with their ships. ?Hey, I received a code 66 Emergency Transmitter signal, that traced back to here. I?m a mechanic, it?s likely I could fix what caused you to crash and repair the damage.?
She stopped for a minute, before climbing the rest of the way out of the hatch and standing on the top of the arrow. Not at all what someone would expect of a pilot-mechanic, being a woman with a full-bodied figure and soft appearance. Clad in blue jeans and a grey t-shirt which flapped in the breeze, she waved again at the strange bunch to get their attention if they didn?t hear her ship land. ?HEY! YOU GUYS NEED HELP?? She shouted again.
Brash'una had remained seated the whole time he waited for Lance to make his decision, he was periodically doing checks on the computer, making sure that Adun was functioning and becoming acquainted with the ships systems, capabilities and warp technology. He also wanted it to get use to the constant it was gonna have to do to make sure the core didn't overload and take out the ship and anything with 200 yards of them. As he was going through the systems by hand, and by psionic connection he heard Adun abruptly speak to him.
"Sir, there is a creature outside the ship touching the hull." Brash'una looked up into the shielding that was the cockpit window. A screen instantly popped up by his thoughts and showed and outside image of Lance standing outside the ship, trying to find a way into the space craft. Brash'una chuckled.
"Warp him aboard and prepare to depart and make our way to Nightside."
"Yes sir." Brash'una continued messing with the controls, keeping the crystals levels low until he needed it to rise so that they could leave this station and make their way to Nightside within the next day or so. When Brash'una started to hear the reconstruction of a warped being he turned in his chair to face the Lion breed being re-built molecule by molecule. He sat up right in his chair as the process started in an instant, and finished just as quickly. Lance looked around quickly, trying to figure out what was going on. Brash'una stood from his chair and walked up to Lance, then looked up into his cat eyes.
"Its good you decided to come with me. Your expertise could be useful in time." Lance nodded at him and then looked more carefully at the new technology that was was just flooding his mind with sights of touch screens and buttons that lit up at the slightest touch and panels that were made out of holographic images but were possible to touch and interact with. Brash'una began messing with another panel, making sure all the calibrations were correct and were stable for their journey they were to embark on.
"Make yourself comfortable Lance. Its going to be a journey to Nightside from here, a day or two at the most going safe speeds." Lance looked at him with an odd expression.
"At safe speeds? What is that suppose to mean? You can go faster then that?" Brash'una looked back him.
"Of course, at the fastest speed possible, we could be there in two to three hours at the most." Lance looked at him with utter shock and fascination.
"No ship in this system can make that time without using slipstream to get to any planet from here."
"I told you Lance, my kind are highly advanced. Space travel is nothing to us, it was conquered a long time ago. That warp technology you experience, is just small piece of our technology used. Planetary warp-ins and solar system warp-ins are very easy. But galactic warp-ins are something all together different, thats a lot of space to get lost in, so we leave that kind of power and precision to our mother ships."
"Mother ships?"
"Yes, they are something special. But we will discuss this after we have taken off." Brash'una continued to mess with controls as he spoke in a public channel so Lance could hear too.
"Adun, commence launch sequence and detach from this station. We're gonna show our new friend here how fast you can really go." Adun let out a chuckle as the ship disconnect from the space station.
"Yes sir, activating inertial dampeners and preparing Kadision crystal core for max speed." Lance looked to Brahs'una after hearing the voice echo through his head as well.
"Who was that voice and what is the Kadision crystal core?" Brash'una walked past him and pressed a button on the panel, a chair emerged from the floor, building itself from stored warp energy into physical matter again. Lance took a seat in it as Brash'una kept pressing panels and holographic controls.
"The voice is my new A.I. system I created to properly control the ship so I could use my psionic energy more efficiently. His name is Adun, as is the name of the ship itself. The Kadision crystal core is what powers my ship, its a unique crystal considering I never have to recharge it or replace it. Its quite powerful, but I must finish these checks before we converse further about my race Lance." Lance nodded as Brash'una hit the last few buttons and then took a seat in his pilots seat. The ship launched forward without either passengers feeling it, it hit impressive speeds as it made its way to Nightside.
"Now, we should be at Nightside in about three hours. Its time I found out a few things about the Lion breed, it would be an interesting race to know and ally ourselves with. Tell me how your kind came into existence and how they have managed to stay alive for so long." Brash'una sat forward in his chair as he put one leg over his thigh and waited patiently for Lance to speak.
Lance sat in his chair a little uncomfortable after the warp transport he just went through, his species just had doors to get in and out of a ship and it was that simple. The popping holograms of computer screens caught Lance's attention, the technology of Brash'una's people was far more advanced and complex than he could ever have dreamed.
"Lance?" Brash'una turned around in his chair again after he finished his deeds with the ships computer. The lions shook his head slightly to get rid of the dizziness he was feeling. "You don't look well"
"My apologies, this is all so new and mind blowing. Not to mention..." Lance remembered he had to leave the Lemur Space Station, he would have no idea what the fate of his friends and family would turn out to be. "nevermind...so what did you want to know about my race?"
"Everything, start from the beginning if you would"
"Well, as far as I know from the early moons of former "Earth"....I think thats what they called it long ago. Scientists found a way to make a new warrior race mixed with one of their planets stronges creatures, the lion. The scientists of that era knew their planet was slowly withering away, so they took their research and a couple of female human volunteers to Jupiter where a single cologne was forming already. The females were given the medicine to bear a lion cub and regular human females as well, the experiment was a success. More and more lions and females were born leading the Lion breeds to grow and populate Jupiter. Eventually we managed to make a space station, the one we just escaped from." Lance sat uncomfortably in his seat shifting from side to side.
"Interesting, a whole civilization based on an experiment that thrived and expanded throughout the generations. You're scientific advancements are at the point where my people were when we started learning about other forms of technology." Brash'una stated.
"Sir, we are an hour away from our destination of Nighshade. Apparently, several ships have penetrated the atmosphere and landed at these coordinates" Adun enlarged a image of Nightshades atmosphere, then closer to where it seemed to be a beach with a small stream of smoke came from something metallic. Lance instantly knew what the mechanical being was.
"That's a Vamtyr!"
"It would seem so, taken care of really well I might add." Brash'una closed the window and entered into his ships computer to go towards that area. Lance dug into his pocket and brought out a small medallion pin, a silver pendent of a lion's paw print. The lion stood up and hovered over Brash'una as he looked up at the lion puzzled.
"Take this, for my breed it's a sign of marriage to a female, but when given to another person its a sign of protection. Any trouble you might come into I'll take care of it, we lions have more strength than we let others know of." Brash'una simple took the pendent and placed it in his cloak, Lance stayed standing as they came closer and closer to Nightshade.
OOC: Nefertimon, just try to meet up with us at the ship. Mage will be making repairs, so we will be there for a little while anyways.
Loreley looked around for the voice, then she looked up at the girl in her ship.
"Yes we need help!" She yelled back.
The girl nodded and probably smiled.
"Follow us to the ship!" Michael yelled out. He then gave Okryuu the directions to his ship and he started heading back to it.
Back at the ship, Michael and the girl were working on the repairs. Her name ended up being Martel. Loreley thought that she seemed very nice. Now she was alone with Okryuu in the ship in one of the many rooms. The good thing was, there were medical robots on board that knew almost everything there was to know about human biology. They would work very well for what she had planned.
Lorely walked out of sight of Okryuu and milked her breast over a cup. When she got it half full, she brought it to him.
"Oh thanks." He said as he quickly drank it.
"Okryuu, can I ask you a favor?" Loreley asked, looking at the ground.
"Yes?"
"Well, I need some help rebuilding my tribe. Can you help me?"
Okyruu looked puzzled.
"But how can I help?"
Loreley whispered to him and he blushed. However, he nodded and followed her to the bridge.
In the bridge, Loreley found something to lay down on. Then she looked over as Okyruu got undressed.
"If you don't mind, I will later save some of your seed for when you are not here."
"That's fine." Okryuu answered.
He got on top of her and pushed inside of her. Loreley moaned and he started to pick up speed. Soon his moans and hers seemed to be one. She grabbed his back.
"Don't pull out. Fill me with your seed. All of it."
He did as she asked with one final moan. He pulled out of her and watched as his seed started to leak out. She pushed it back in.
"Now, you will see something a bit strange about me." She blushed.
A couple of minutes later, her stomach started to grow. Soon she looked nine months pregnant. The medical robot delivered the baby. If Loreley felt any pain, she didn't show it. The robot brought the baby to the technologically advanced nursery, and Loreley motioned Okryuu to start again. Thanks to drinking her milk though, he had a lot of stamina. After he got started, Michael and Martel walked into the bridge. Probably to start the ship and make sure it was running. Loreley made sure that Okryuu kept going.
"Don't stop." She whispered to him.
"Hi guys. Don't mind us." Loreley waved, as she continued having sex with Okryuu.
Lee woke up to a strange smell, the smell of a human. She shot up and began to growl loudly, she looked around, her enhanced eyes picking up all the shapes in the dark that most people never would be able to. She looked to her left and saw a girl walked in. He growling got louder, as she got closer.
"It's alright doggie, I'm a friend."
Her growling stopped but her voice was gruff.
"Who are you calling a dog? I was here first, if there are more then one heat source in one area the Vamtyrs will be drawn here."
"I didn't know that anyone else was here, I'm so sorry."
She could hear the sarcasim in the girls voice and growled.
"Calm down canine."
Her growling intesified.
"Shut your mouth human."
"Look, I'm on my way to find a ship, and I don't nessassarily have reliable company, you look like you could you use some friends."
Lee stopped and studied the girl.
"What's the catch"
"No catch I just need someone that won't betray me."
She sniffed the air and sensed that that girl wasn't lying, she reached out her hand.
"Deal, watch the nails."
She grasped the girls hand and shook it firmly and followed her.
"How are you getting around...um I didn't catch your name."
"Lee, I'm rideing a bike that I found in a junk yard."
"I'm Saiyuri, nice to meet you."
"Well what are you traveling on?"
She leaned on the wall waiting for a response from the girl.
~Michael?s ship, Nightshade coastline~
Martel had been impressed with Michael's ship, even though it had been damaged during the fuel run-out and resultant emergency landing it had been well-executed. Also, the people on-board it weren't that bad either, despite the one girl being fully nude and not seeming to have any inclination to try and clothe herself.
A look of pure disgust at what the strange couple was doing in the middle of the bridge swept across Martel?s face, that kind of activity was something that private cabins were for. Not to mention that they were violating a ship?s bridge, which in a single shot betrayed all of her respect for the woman and man because to someone as mechanically minded as she was, a ship?s bridge was akin to a sacred temple. Fortunately they were not on her ship, or they would have been removed from the bridge at gunpoint.
?FOR GOD SAKE DOESN?T THIS SHIP HAVE PRIVATE CABINS YOU COULD USE INSTEAD OF THE FLOOR OF THE BRIDGE??!! She shouted at the sweaty couple, more upset about the bridge of a ship having been used for something like that than what they were actually doing. Looking quickly away from the activity and trying to shut out the sound, she followed Michael up towards the controls. Setting down the toolbox she had brought from her ship, she pulled out a meter and started checking one of the wiring harnesses to make sure that there were no electrical faults in the repairs.
?Ship looks good, I?ve got four standard U-235 rods in one of the cargo bays on my ship, we should operate the docking rings so that we can transfer and install them. While they wont be quite enough for full power, they will get you off the ground so you can get a complete set at one of the lunar spacedock stations.
Martel commented, having already gone back into her cheery and mechanical-minded mood that she had been in the whole time the ship was being repaired. Checking off another section of her post-emergency landing inspection list, she continued ?You should probably have your heat shield inspected as well, a hard landing like that with no thruster support it might have cracked tiles and needs to be inspected to make sure it will hold up to re-entry again.?
She pulled a small remote out of her pocket, about the size of a 21st century mobile phone, and put in a series of codes. Her ship began to turn using the thrusters that were above the water, aligning the docking rings so that they could transfer the fuel rods
"Also, Loreley I think it was, you probably should find some clothes. I have a few old ones that would probably be a bit big on you, but should work. They don't fit me anymore, so it's not a problem. " She remarked, trying not to look at the couple that was still pleasuring themselves.
