Gavin
Fallen Leaves By their lives, Konoha prospered, By their deaths, Konoha survived. Each generation carries the Will of Fire. It is the symbol of hope for the Hidden Village of the Leaf. In a select few however, this flame burns stronger and brighter than all others, and they are destined to shape many lives and futures. The legendary Sannin were one such group, Team 7, their students another. One group however had a flame which burned so strong and so bright, it was believed it could go on forever, the students of Hatake Sakumo: The Golden Three. Uchiha Fugaku, Hyuuga Hizashi and Sarutobi Sasuke. In each of them, even as children, I could see a greatness, as though I were a gardener already witnessing the centurion oak within the newly fallen acorn. I fully believed then, that one day they would exceed even me, the man referred to as the god of all ninja. I see a similar potential in their children, but know that this time, I will not be around to see whether or not it blooms fully. - Sarutobi Yuudai (The Third Hokage) ||||| Well, as you might have guessed from that sliver of a back-story, this is a Naruto-based RPG. That said, it has absolutely nothing to do with the titular character, nor the current timeline of the manga, so for those of you not caught up, there?s no worry about spoilers. Instead this RPG is set around the lives of the Genin team of Sakumo Hatake, Konoha?s White Fang, and Kakashi?s father. You may also recognise that two of these men, Fugaku and Hizashi are the fathers of two other important Konoha-nin, Sasuke and Neji. Sarutobi Sasuke is the father of Konohamaru, and as you might have guessed is the one whom Uchiha Sasuke is named after. The story will start just after the graduation of the three from the Academy at age twelve, literally opening with their introduction to Sakumo, and will follow a similar path to the Naruto series, i.e. their getting missions, eventually facing the Chuunin Exams and some other big plots which I don?t want to give away yet. The setting is roughly 30 years before the current Shippuuden timeline, so the three boys are about 12, and Sakumo is in his early 20s. I?m looking for only three players, as I?ll be playing Sakumo myself, but for this, commitment is the important thing. Please don?t join if you?re not in this for the long haul. The sign up is fairly straight forward, all you do is supply a sample post of your chosen character giving their reaction to graduating from the Academy. It should give me a rough idea of their overall personality and particular skills, more of which can be established in the opening posts of the RPG. One thing for those signing up as Hizashi, he has not yet been branded with the cursed seal mark of the Branch Family, which will occur during the RPG. For the moment, he is still a member of the Main House, and believes that due to the fact he is Hiashi?s twin, he has every chance of becoming the next Clan leader. Anyway, enough blathering from me, I hope to see some good sign ups.
 Zen
Sarutobi Sasuke Sitting beneath a large oak tree, Sasuke looked into his own glinting reflection in the metal-plate of his headband. Looking into reddish-brown eyes, he pushed back a lock of his dark brown hair coming across his forehead. The black silk of this new badge of adulthood flowed through his fingers as he contemplated this new step in his life. He’d been given a proud nod and smile from his father before the legendary man left. Sasuke could not blame him for his briefness, for he was an important man, and he had important matters to attend to. This was the price of being the Third Hokage. Sasuke searched his mind and heart for the excited feeling that he saw on the faces of his class mates. However, he could only feel a sense of dull complicity. He was of Sarutobi-heritage. Graduating the Academy hardly counted as an accomplishment, it was expected of him. Maybe had the final exam been more challenging he’d have a higher sense of accomplishment. However, he ran the same drill with his father many times before. The Professor’s son defeated all five shadow clones with relative ease. Again, such things were expected from a Sarutobi. He didn’t even have to rely on Ninjutsu, defeating his teacher’s clones with nothing more than his Wooden-Monkey Taijutsu. But a sliver of the actual family Taijutsu style. After reflecting on the ordeal, he summarily tied the headband around his neck and let it hang loosely on his clavicle. Taking a deep breath, he stood quickly and made his way to the Takeda Sushi stand. He figured he would, at the very least, attempt a small celebration for his achievement. Andrew
Uchiha Fugaku For the young Ninja of Konohagakure, the day had been interesting to say the least. Starting bright, sunny and filled with promise the young Genin-to-be eagerly waited for their turn to be taken before the examiners. The chance to demonstrate their hard-learned skills in defeating kage bunshin created by the examiners had been a focal point among the young nin for some time. As expected, young Fugaku had passed with little difficulty. Low-level jutsu like bunshin and henge were nothing to the future Uchiha Clan Leader who demonstrated such fire-based jutsu as the Grand Fireball. Such techniques were required for recognition from his father and the other high-clansmen, a form of proving ones manhood as it were. Despite the relative ease that Fugaku had passed with, he still felt a great sense of elation at holding his very own forehead protector. He had often played games when he was much younger, trying to steal his father's protector, insisting that if he could just wear it once, he'd surely have the power, courage and wisdom to become to leader of his clan. Thinking of it now he couldn't help but scowl at his child-like mentality, but this protector was indeed the first step to all those qualities he'd so desired in his innocence. Staring into the gleaming metal and remembering his early days gave his vision a weird blurring sensation, similar to those he'd felt when trying to activate his Sharigan. Fugaku quickly shook off the sensation and tied the protector around his forehead. He knew that, with his new Genin stature, it would only be a matter of time before he found the secret to unlocking his Kekkei Genkai.
