It mostly seems like anime fans and gamers, though you also get a fair number of roleplayers and people who just wander in and decide to stay.

Lots of anime fans who can't spell and always sound really excited about everything, people who arrived like those above anime fans but grew up and became an actual intelligent contributor to the site, vikings who really like music genres, and half the posts are actually done by a member known as Deus Ex Machina.

1. Well, I'd say it all started back in the 70's When Bill Gates dropped out of college... Just kidding, It's basically a special interest anime forum with remarkably few anime fans.

3. We're pretty diverse, but I saw somewhere that out mean age group is somewhere in the 20's. Myself, I'm a bit younger.

4. Not sure what you mean by this, but I would imagine that as time passed and members came and went, the ones whose interests the sit suited stuck around.

5. I think it's the best at what it does. Then again, I don't know of any other sites that do what OB does.

6.On a good day, there's plenty of fun to be had.

Seconded. I see no reason that Deus' post is any more unneccesary than the original questionaire (Or entire first post, rather). Your questions left no room for conversational replies. The general idea of this forum is to create conversation, something you have utterly killed in this thread by both insulting the validity of those answering your questions, and also not being involved in the conversation yourself.

You are a member rather than a new member, are you not? Why can you not answer your own questions? Why are you researching? What does OtakuBoards do for YOU?

Be involved in your own conversation, or don't post.



On the topic of the questionaire. As for myself, I think that there are nearly as many people who frequent the boards who dislike anime as those who like it. There is no paricular gathering of similar-minded people.

As a reaper of dragons it is imperative that he only receive answers that either overly evaluate the nature of his questions or obviously poke fun at his questions with juvenile responses (which I am personally a huge fan of). That is what reapers of dragons do…well, other than reap dragons.

Anyway, I thought I would answer Dragoonreaper’s (do you also reap dragoons?) questions using both types of responses. Now he’ll have even more data for his research!

1. The possible existential answers to this question are mind boggling. However, I think the easy and correct answer is because I will it to exist.
2. The site presents the visitor with a medium to share and discuss thoughts on a variety of topics. In other words, people come here to exchange opinions.
3. A wide variety of people post here. Their one common thread is that they all have access to the internet and (more than likely) have opposable thumbs.
4. While science [b]and[/b] religion cannot answer this question, science [b]or[/b] religion may be able to. I guess it just depends where you put your faith. Since I lean more towards science I would say that the site became this way because a few people work very hard on maintaining its quality.
5. It is the best one I currently visit.
6. I am very narcissistic, so yes, I do have fun when I come here.

I would need to know what this site was before I showed up. I don't have the context. It looks like the site is pretty tightly controlled so I'd have to guess that the people running the site have what they want.

I go to a bunch of different sites to get different flavor. I like the question/discussion aspect of this site. I see that you guys have a pretty consistent following of folks who contribute and I don't have to filter through tons of nonsense to actually get to interesting discussion. From the sites I check out ... this is probably right up near the top.
