Yes yes. Good movie.
Wait... what was I going to say?
Oooooh.
Yeah, musicals. As much as I enjoyed RENT, I kept thinking how odd it was to randomly break into song and dance.
So not really my thing.
Except yes, randomly breaking into song and dance is something I would totally do in real life.

Oooooh. I've got cough drops on my table and several horses in the stable, but wait I don't own a farm! Oh what's the harm, oh what's the haaaaarm... innnn... -drum solo-.

Okay that was totally lame. I'm so sorry. I could've done so much better with that. Maybe I'll edit it when I can think properly.

It's rather amusing that you talk about musicals like that. My brother and I have actually had that conversation more than once, at just how ridiculous a concept it seems. And without fail, within the next 15 minutes, someone would say something that would trigger a song and we'd start singing. It's the choreographed dancing that's unrealistic.

That said, I'm not a musical person. I can't stand Sound of Music, no matter how much of a classic it's supposed to be.

The only musicals I've seen AND liked so far are Rent and Sweeney Todd. Amazing how different they are. I just love Burton's touch in Sweeney Todd. I don't think anyone else could have done it, period. And I love how out of sync with one another Johnny Depp and Alan Rickman are during their 'duet'. It's just a wonderful thing.

I went to see this movie twice in theaters, once with my cousin, and another time with my girlfriend. Then I went and downloaded the soundtrack on my Ruckus player and listened to it a few dozen times.

Needless to say, I enjoyed the movie. :p

I had seen trailers online long before it actually came out, and each one made me want to see the movie more and more. I'd only heard the briefest of comments about the play before seeing the trailer, but a number of things drew me to the movie:

[*]Johnny Depp
[*]Tim Burton
[*]Musical
[*]Dark themes

I find myself singing "A Little Priest" to myself when I'm at work, and I feel a surge of delight inside whenever I hear the lyrics about the actor arriving overdone. :D

I, personally, thought this movie was hysterical.

Every time Sweeney would always cut somebody's throat open and all that fake blood would gush out, I laughed so loud, lol.

The songs were really amazing; all the actors that sang were really good. It was also a nice touch of mixing dark/violent themes along with singing and some happy scenes in the movie. Very creepy and psychotic, but strangely refreshing.

I thought the end was pretty sad but amazing as well. Who knew someones throat could bleed that much?
