Because the other thread quite clearly says "Phoenix Wright" on it.

For those of you who don't know, Apollo Justice is the newest installment in the Ace Attorney series. In Japan, the series is known as "Gyakuten Saiban," or "Turnabout Courtroom." If you're wondering about the name change, it's true: you no longer play as Phoenix Wright. You're a rookie again. You play as Apollo Justice, a new rookie Defense Attorney.

"What, where is Phoenix? I can't live without my Nickie!!!"

Fret not, he's here. He's just gone through a bit of a... design change.

Apparently, the story takes place about 7 years after Trials and Tribulations. Phoenix is no longer an attorney because he ended up somehow presenting falsified evidence during another trial, forcing him to give up his badge.

Anyway, this is the first game in the series made specifically for the DS. Know what that means? Remember all that cool stuff you could do on the 5th case of Phoenix Wright? It's back. Oh yeah.

Release date is apparently February 20, 2008 (not yet official.)
Disclaimer: Hobo Phoenix above came from Court Records, but I didn't hotlink. I ripped it from the site and then put it on my photobucket.

Wow the game does sound interesting, but I never played the first game yet. Well here's my question for the game , not the new one: Does the Phoenix Wright game have 3 part to it? Anyway back to the subject, I heard this game is awesome but I never have a chance to actually buy the game:animecry:. When I have enough money I am hoping to buy Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, the game look fun and cool too.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Do you mean are there 3 Phoenix Wright games? Because if so, yes. They are: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Justice for All, and Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations.

I don't know very much yet about AJ, but I understand it has a lot of cameos so it's probably a good idea to play the other 3 first.

That is the question I wanted to know. Really? There are three Phoenix Wright games? Huh, guess I learn something new everyday:p. I didn't know that there were three games on Phoenix Wright, guess I must be slow:animeswea. Anyway, thank you for answering my question because I had a feeling the Phoenix Wright series has three part to it, but I also had another feeling that I might be wrong.

SWEET! Ironically I just read an artical today about the game form an old mag of my brother's, and it said it would be shipping early 2008. I have Trials & tribulations, haven't beaten it yet though because someone is borrowing it from me, but when I get it back I plan on buying Apollo Justice.

Okay, got it on Thursday, beat it an hour or so ago (haven't been on because I've been out of town.)

I have a new favorite Ace Attorney game and case.

The whole game is basically linked together in an intricate manner that is not revealed until the last case. Nick's in the background most of the time, but is pretty prominent nonetheless. Trucy is amazing (
Mr. Hat
never gets old) and the Grand Finale is so intricate and all-inclusive that you can't help but feel satisfied putting that psycho away (what psycho? Find out yourself.) I loved 2-4, but I nearly died with satisfaction on 4-4.

Plus, the plot twists start coming fast and furious in the tutorial case (
You end up pointing that attorney finger at your mentor not too long in
.)

And then there's the Perceive system. Poker faces in the courtroom. Awesome.

For those interested, there is a flash demo of the game available at the following link:

Having completed the game, I can say that it is equally as good as the others (I do not have a clear favorite).

The storyline, like usual, was extremely engaging. Although the cast is largely populated by new characters, the central mystery of discovering why Phoenix Wright lost his attorney's badge kept me captivated. Due to the nature of the storyline, the new characters were not really as well-developed as the old characters, but I found that tying up the last protagonist's plot was vital. I look forward to seeing how the new cast is developed in future iterations. The ending of Apollo Justice builds up to fleshing out the new characters, nicely.

It should also be noted that the first case in Apollo Justice is the best first case of the entire series. The last case, as usual, is quite epic. Like Phoenix Wright 3, the last case ties together the entire game quite nicely.

I felt a bit disappointed by the implementation of the touch screen features. The touch screen segments were not bad, but they were used rather sparingly. I hope that in the next game, we see the touch screen mini games fleshed out.

The Perceive system was a lame substitute for the Psych-Lock system. I thought that the Perceive system ruined the game's pacing and often required the player to scrutinze minor details and rely too much on guess work. It was more annoying than fun.

Overall though, the translation was really good and the storyline was awesome. Like usual, I loved the music.

By the way, to the original poster--do you post on NeoGaf? I notice that you have the same avatar as someone on there.

Nah, I stole it from Court Records, though I do lurk at NeoGAF from time to time.

On topic, The only real beef I have with this game is that
Kristoph had a really weak motive. A double homicide, attempted murder and manipulation of the law for 7 years and his main driving factor was jealousy? That kind of sucks.
Overall, it's a solid game and some of my favorite characters in the series are in it (Guy Eldoon. He wears a bowl of ramen on his head.) Also, despite the aforementioned shortcomings, this game's main villain is my favorite in the series (and as far as I'm concerned, it takes a LOT to beat out JFA's final "boss.")
