Rachmaninoff
I’m sure I’m not the only one to do this, forget something and then later feel really stupid that I forgot it. XP My most recent example of this was this morning, I woke up and for the life of me couldn’t remember why I didn’t set my alarm. So I did what I always do as far as getting cleaned up, breakfast and doing anything else I would need to do before heading out for school. It probably wasn’t until a good two hours after I had been awake that I remembered there is no school today since it’s Martin Luther King Day. Naturally I felt really stupid that I forgot about that. I mean I remembered last week since I was thinking about how nice it was going to be to have a three day weekend. Anyway, about the only good thing is I realized that before I left my apartment to head for school. Showing up to realize no one was there? That would have really sucked. lol Anyway, what types of things have you forgotten that later you felt bad for, like missing a birthday, or something else that made you feel really stupid that you managed to forget it? Nerdsy
I don't know about forgetting embarassing things, but I do have this irrational fear about forgetting times and dates. For instance, if I am supposed to meet someoneat a certain time, the closer it gets to that time the more I start to panic and believe that I'm remembering the wrong time. Nine times out of ten, though, it's the right one.
Sojiro47
Wow, I did the same thing you did Rachmaninoff. Except I walk to school, so I was a bout half way there when I realized it. I almost went the rest of the way to see if anyone else forgot.:animeswea I tend to do things like forget where I put stuff, or turn my phone off at movies or school, but nothing more than that. Gavin
I tend to do that when the clocks change over for Daylight Savings Time, I intend to set my alarm back or forward and hour and then forget it. It's a real pain to get up at 5:45 instead of 6:45 and be fully ready by the time you realise the mistake.
Claire
Pretty much everyday I will walk into a room and forget why I went there to begin with, or I'll think of something to say and not even a second later have no idea what it even was. My memory is so strange. I hardly ever remember small things like that, or instructions my mom will give me, or dreams. But I can write spanish vocabulary words once and never study, not even for the exam, and get a really high score. I can remember really useless information after hearing it the first time, especially in easy classes like health, Spanish, or Driver's Ed. It doesn't work for important classes, though, like physics or trig. Lame.
Raiha
Unlike you poor waifs, I deleted all the events from my schedule on Entourage so my computer didn't beep to awake me. So I peacefully slept through the morning after going to bed at 4 a.m. Besides, I did all my homework over the weekend previous and sealed up my backpack for tomorrow anyway. Horendithas
I did the school thing last year during spring break. I mindlessly got up and got ready, forgetting that I didn't have to be there. I made it all the way to school before I realized that there wasn't any classes for the rest of the week. I consoled myself by heading back home and getting back under the covers and taking a nice long nap to make up for getting up too early. lol
Claire
Oh yeah! The school thing almost happened to me once. I woke up one morning to find sunlight streaming through my curtains, and I panicked because I have to leave my house at 6:20 AM, when it's still pitch black outside. I just laid in bed for a few minutes like "O_O!" before I remembered that it was Saturday.
Aaryanna_Mom
In this case, the question should be... what haven't I forgotten? lol Over the years I've forgotten switch the clocks for daylight savings time, forgotten it's a holiday and gone to school just the same. Forgotten where I put my glasses, etc. The list just goes on and on.

I guess that's one of the better things about wearing contact lenses. For anyone else who wears contacts and glasses on and off, have you ever gone to push up your glasses subconsciously while wearing the lenses ? I seem to do that a lot. I at least seem to be pretty good at not losing my glasses though. Now as for forgetting things, the one I seem to do the most is setting a book I'm reading down and then not remembering where I put the damn thing. It's annoying as all get out, especially when it's a book I'm really enjoying. lol
Minako
One morning, I woke up to my alarm and pushed snooze a few times and freaked out that I was late! I got there, just in time, but an HOUR EARLY. so I just chilled out there until my class started (there wasn't anyone there). I realized that in my early-morning-disorientation, my normal routine, I failed to recognize the hour hand on my clock. *smacks forehead* oy. I couldn't find my glasses because they weren't in the usual spot, and I couldn't see to find them. So I went in the bathroom to continue getting ready without them, and they were sitting on the sink. Then I remembered I had just gone in there and taken them off to wash my face, and for whatever reason I left without doing so and forgot the whole incident. [Sound_Nin]
I forget almost everything. I forget where I put a book, or I take off my watch and forget to put it back on and go the entire day not having a clue what time it is. Good thing I don't have to wear glasses, or they'd be long gone. Although I'm badly farsighted, so I need glasses. The idea of contacts frightens me. I forget toast in the toaster, food in the microwave, and the countless times I've put a soda or something in the freezer to get cold faster and I'll forget and it'll freeze and explode. Skye
I have one of those horrible brains that always wakes me up "on time." Even if it's Saturday. (On time for me is 4:30-5:30 at the latest.) I have this mental alarm that goes off at five just in case my alarm at 3:30 didn't wake me up. I am the same way as Nin, and for good reason. I sat down on my couch one morning to wait five minutes to walk to the bus stop (6:10 I sat down.) I look up from my book and it's almost 6:30. I literally sprinted up the hill and caught the bus. I'm not usually bad about forgetting unless I'm in the middle of a conversation when I have to change sides in the hallway. You have to work your way through all those people who have this natural flow of move one way to go down the hall and move another way to move up it - like two lines of traffic. And of course, because my locker is against the flow of traffic, I have to keep people from pushing me away from my locker, not drop anything and then cross the hall. By that point I've forgotten everything I was talking about.
