Rahxephon (Finished. same as Vandread)
Samurai Deeper Kyo (Finished)
Street Fighter 2 V (Finished)
Blood+ (Not finished. Don't hate anymore, but it's still "bleh")
Witch Hunter Robin (not finished..)
Wolf's Rain (not finished.. animal lover.. can't help it lol.)
Akira (don't care for it)

That about sums that up. Majority of the animes I watch are action, that's pretty much all I really prefer, although, I have been opening up to other genres... I think. Last Exile and Death Note would categorized as what?

I can be pretty picky as well, because I tend to stay away from a lot of shows because it lacks this or has that. While we're on the subject of being picky.. I can't stand the romance genre. (The slice of life school stuff normally has it.) Nor do I care about psychological animes. They're too taxing on the brain, and I get bored of them pretty quickly. I also don't like comedy animes. Now if the anime is packed with action, and has all that stuff mentioned, I don't mind it, but in their own genre... NO!!!

Elfen Lied and One Piece are off limits. I heard some things about Elfen Lied that'll probably have me pissed for days lol, and I think I shared my opinion about One Piece far too many times.

Animes that looks like; http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=6830

Are also off limits. I can't stand that style of art, and those seem like they're geared towards the romance department, but then again, I guess if you can point me to some that're action based, it wouldn't hurt to try them out.

I'm currently thinking about buying Jubei-Chan 2. I heard it's on a more serious side than the first half.

And I'm currently waiting for Black Lagoon to air on Starz Edge.

One more thing. I am a dial-up user. (And I share the computer) So no downloading for me. All my animes has to be on DVD.

That was long, and now I'm winded, and sorry for being so picky lol. Pretty much looking for action animes, but depending on a few (I guess), I'd be willing to try them out.

I'd highly recommend Outlaw Star. It's fairly old now, but it's got high production values (in much the same way and a similar style to Cowboy Bebop), good music, good story, good English dub, too... It's a science-fiction with a lot of action and character, which looks like it should fit in well with what you've listed. It's definitely a shonen anime, so there are no particularly girly romance moments.

It's one of my all-time favourites. And it's available on DVD in a boxed set :p

You need to watch Akira...Nao! It's probably my favorite action movie period. It's action packed and has a really good storyline.

Also if you liked Ninja Scroll you will really like Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust(I doubt you will like the original though). It's made by the same guy and the animation is MUCH nicer.

You also might like Highlander. Is basically a super manly action flick but it's still really good. The story is sorta cliche but the animation and action are just so awesome...

Yea as far as action goes I think movies are the best choice. Usually short sweet and have high quality animation.

Attempt number two:

If you like mecha then you should check out Gundam Wing.

If you do not mind fan service because I know some do, check out:

Ikki Tousen
Tenjo Tenge

Here comes the main list:

Gantz
Gungrave
Fist of the North Star
S-CRY-ed
Hellsing
Berserk

Those have a lot of action and gore as well. I enjoyed a lot of those myself. Anyways, if you want more info, just ask or PM me.

I HIGHLY suggest S-CRY-ed, it is an amazing anime, and what's good is at Big Lots you can buy DVD's for under 5 bucks. The anime is good though. But I think it takes a while to get used to. And as for other anime, G Gundam is a good series IMO. It's not like a lot of other Gundam, which is why I like it. It's about Gundam's being used in Tournaments, not that old washed up Zeon story that I hate sooooooo much >_> Plus, it's pretty old.

I knew I forgot to list something.

Panache, I've seen Akira, and didn't care much for it. Don't ask, I just couldn't get into it.

Premonition, I've seen Scryed, and was impressed with it, up until the last few fights.
The transformations didn't sit well with me.
.

Japan, I don't mind fanservice, but I can live without it.. I started to say something about that ^^.

Let's see; Outlaw Star, Gantz, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Berserk, Highlander, and Gundam's...

And I've been wondering if Twelve Kingdoms was worth looking into?

Well I liked Akira but I can see where someone might not.

Oh and I haven't seen it but I thought twelve Kingdom was a Drama...

Last Exile is a good series that you must watch. Last I remember is that Last Exile didn't have any romance in it and has action in it too. Well if you want more action, I highly recommended Devil May Cry, that anime is so awesome. It has awesome action that I think you'll like, like me when I watch it the other day. Like have you play the Devil May Cry series? Its what your going to expect in this anime series, like the video game series too.

Ok judging by your list you like all kinds of Anime. Like someone said before if you do enjoy Mecha, which I assume because you watched Big-O, but then again you say you disliked Neon Genesis and Eureka 7. I do recommend Gundam Wing and Gundam Seed, even non-mecha anime watchers seem to like those, if you do enjoy Mecha I also recommend the original Gundam and the sequels. Also if you liked Trigun and Cowboy Bebop I recommend Outlaw Star like someone else did. If you like mecha a lot and are open minded and don't really care for maturity level of anime Zoids is a good way to go. You say you like action? Berzerk, amazing show, though it doesn't end, even if you will not read the manga it is definitely worth watching. I'm actually in the middle of watching Hajime no Ippo if you like sport/action anime, it seems very good and interesting. I'll make this easier on you.

Recommendations
Gundam Wing
Gundam Seed
Hajime no Ippo
Berzerk
Outlaw Star
Escaflowne
(can't hurt to watch 25 episode animes :box:)

If you end up getting into Gundam:
Gundam and the sequels which is,
Gundam
Gundam 0080
Gundam 0083
8th MS team
Zeta Gundam
Char's counter attack

If you get open minded in the mecha, Zoids :P

I recommend Saiyuki, Saiyuki Reload and Saiyuki Reload Gunlock! All of these are filled with adventure and comedy! You can download for free at (link removed) :animesmil

Alright, thought I'd bring this back up since I'm just now getting into the fantasy/adventure type anime now. FMA fits in this category right? I've been watching Scrapped Princess (up to the 6th episode, waiting for the next 3 on comcast), and you can say that's what got me curious about the genre. (That and playing Tales of the Abyss.)

In any case, I'm currently looking for more anime in this genre to see what I've been missing out on as well. Also, are there any more adventure types out there that has more action than Scrapped Princess? I've been feeling a little deprived of my action lately.

I can finally watch anime online now too, so let em loose. ^^

(And there's actually that much of it, so it can keep you occupied for a good while.) It's the definitive fantasy/adventure series, in my opinion. Lots of fighting, lots of magic, lots of blowing things up, lots of comedy—it's got tons of everything that makes a good fantasy/adventure series for me.

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle is also a great series, though you'd have to read the ongoing manga for the full story since the anime stops part way through and isn't being continued. The Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk is good and it's being continued next year. Rune Soldier is amusing, in the same sort of style as Slayers but not as good. El Hazard isn't bad if you don't mind the harem theme mixed into it.

Another rarity, that I would give recommendations here, but scanning your list of anime properties that you have watched/disliked.Iit seems that there are a few mech series that I can recommend to you:

Super Dimensional Fortress Macross (Do not watch the Macross Generation of Robotech that's different)

Megazone 23 Part I, Part II, Part III (If you're a youngin watch out for the nudity)

Mobile Battleship Martian Successor Nadesico aka Nadesico for short (Really good title that manages to retain the serious side of Mech Anime, while mixing it with a nice balance of character development. A lot of good action sequences too, especially in the movie.

More action oriented anime titles you may like:

Code Geass (Don't like it personally)
Spriggan (Really ultra violent)
Appleseed
Appleseed Ex Machina

I could keep going but, then I would put myself out of business.

I noticed you said you were playing Tales of the Abyss, Phenom. have you started to check out the anime for that. There's currently only 5 eps (only enough to wet the appetite) however it is a great adaptation so far with only a few changes to help the story flow in anime format.

Meggido, unfortunately, the little of it I have seen was about 10 minutes of the 1st episode. Never had the chance to get back to it, but I do plan to look at it eventually.

Rick Hunter, define youngin. =) Actually, I haven't been able to get into Code Geass as much as I would've liked to. I think the first 5 episodes were decent, but since then it just kind of took a nose dive for me.

Des, I think I'll check majority of those out outside of El Hazard. Not much of a harem person.

Come to think of it, I need to update that list or something. Anyways thanks people. Keep em coming.

A couple of anime that I've watched and own box sets of are:

Gundam Seed: I really like this series because the story's interesting, keeps the tension up. The sequel Gundam Seed Destiny's pretty good too.

Angelic Layer: Not sure if this would fit into your type but it's kinda cutesy, has humour, and action I guess since it's about fighting dolls/Angels.

Full Metal Panic: Another one I really like because it mixes humour and action, plus a bit of romance.

I think I'd have to go into this one with an open mind because the 1st 3 episodes, I think, I was pretty disappointed. I didn't see much in terms of action. It seemed like it was comedy over action. (Didn't look like there was much action to begin with.)

I've been trying to catch Gundam Seed, but I have been watching Gundam Seed Destiny :).

Speaking of which, is Gundam Seed 00 and Twelve Kingdoms (still wondering about it lol) worth checking out?

With Full metal Panic just make sure you're not watching the Fumoffu series since that's a spin off that's purely comedy. The first and second series (second raid) have a fair amount of action in them and are a little less about Sagara fitting into high school life.

12 Kingdoms I don't know much about because I've only seen the first two eps and there wasn't a lot of action in them. As for Gundam 00, I hate Gundam with a passion but at the end of showing 00 at my club I didn't mind that series so you'd probably enjoy it.

It's been a while since I've actually re-watched FMP, admittedly there's quite a lot of humour, if it's not quite your thing, but there are definitely parts where there's more action than others, particularly in the middle and towards the end. I haven't actually seen it, but I'm not sure if the second sequel (The Second Raid) is more serious, because Fumoffu is definitely pure humour.

One that I haven't seen for a long time, but I thought it was good when I was younger, was Bubblegum Crisis 2040.

GetBackers is one I'm pretty fond of too.

Don't know anything about 12 Kingdoms, I know what it's about and have seen it on shelves but I have no opinion on it.

Umm, I'm 25 god that sounds so old, when I say that....>.> So to me in terms of yougin I would considering anyone not of 18 as legal, in regards to Megazone 23 Part I and Part II.... The reason I said, that had to do with the fact there's some softcore sex scenes involving the anime characters, more explicit in Part II.

So if you're like under the age of 16, or your parents are those overly sensative types you may want to skip those. I recommend those titles simply because yes the animation side is a little old mid 80's-early 90's. But the action and storyline is really good, plus a big portion of Megazone 23 Part I was the insipiration for the Matrix. In fact a major plot element of Megazone 23 is completely stolen and put into the Matrix without any credit ever being given to it, as inspiration.

I'm rambling though, this is not the thread for that....In regards to Code Geass judging from your list you saw Death Note first. Which is the same thing I did, for some reason all the people I know personally who saw Death Note first, hate or couldn't get into Geass. Also ironicaly, the people who hate death note love geass. To me they're almost virtually the same in terms of certain elements but I prefer death note which is set in a more realistic setting....

In regards to another anime title I can recommend:

Macross Frontier (Really good, and its new) Story is great, and the animaton is in High Definition. The only problem is you can't get it on dvd, that's one of those titles you need to find the fan sub for....(which is out of your access) from what I'm reading.

Dai-Guard: For this one I recommend watching the subbed version....the dub is alright but it grows thin on you after awhile. Dai-Guard is an "Ok" title...worth looking at.

Haha, while I was only joking about it, I'm 24, so I think I can handle it :). While I don't have anything against sex being in anime, I just don't care for it.

Yeah, as I said, I need to update that list because I don't really care Death Note anymore. (The 2nd half was a complete letdown.)

Nope, I have access now ^_^. I've been getting a lot of Macross suggestions so I'll give it a go as well.

Thanks people, I think I have enough to keep me from being bored now.
