What time do you usually go to sleep at?

Over the past year or so I've noticed that a good sum of OB members on my contact list come online between 10pm and 1am. I was wondering, do you all really go to bed that late? lol

I know that on a school night I'm asleep by midnight. I just can't get up at 8 in the morning if I've gone to bed late. I'm not a morning person.

When I've got no school or work the next day, however, I usually end up in bed by 4 in the morning, hehe. Sometimes I'm out late partying (usually I sleep at someone elses house to avoid parents while I'm crunk) while other times I just sit on my computer for hours until I can't keep my eyes open anymore (I blame OB for this, more specifically: tehsillycircus).

So what are your sleeping patterns? Do you go to bed early and wake up late? Vice versa? What helps you fall asleep at night when you can't on your own?

It wildly varies with the school schedule I'm keeping.

This spring quarter I have classes on MWF at 10:40, so I get up around 8 so I can make myself a large breakfast so I don't starve all day. This means that I go to bed around 11 or 12, if only because I'm big on sleeping.

On Tuesday and Thursday I have classes from 2-6, so I eat a lunch and pack a dinner, and generally sleep in. I.E. Today I went to bed around 2 in the morning and woke up at 11 a.m.

And on the weekends I go to bed when I feel like it, or when the party is over. Otherwise I take naps in the middle of the day if I'm tired, and I just enjoy myself.

School decides when I sleep as well as the fact that six hours seems to be more than enough to get me going. So depending on what I need to do, I'm often up all night before heading to school. I'll take either a nap in the afternoon or early hours of the morning, like today. I went to bed at 3am and got up at 9am.

I just fit that six hour sleep in where ever it seems to work the best. Well other than weekends, I tend to sleep eight then. But still the same in that I do so when I'm tired and not at a set time per se.

I go to bed around 12 am before school. If I sleep anytime earlier, I end up not being able to concentrate at school, which seems odd, but it's true. Plus, if I went to bed at ten, I'd end up, not being able to sleep.

Days like this during Sprink Break, I stay up till 1, 2, 3 and even 4. And very rarely 5. And to make up sleep I take a nap when I get home from school, or I take a nap around 3 pm.

I use to have a nice strict schedule of going to bed around midnight and getting up early for work, school, etc. But then I took up a job as a truck driver for a while and that ended that. There is no such thing as a set schedule when you're on the road. Now, especially since most of the work I do is online and has no set time, I sleep when I'm tired, so it varies a lot. Like last night, I was up until 4am and slept till noon.

But do not deny that that week long chat was fun!! Anyways, every night I try to sleep earlier and earlier than I do.

...But I always fail. When I check out a school laptop, I tend to stay up till midnight or later. Like 2 am. Otherwise I usually go to bed around 11 or midnight.

I'm pretty sure I've gone to bed at every single hour of the day at some point or another so unless I'm being forced onto a certain schedule, such as from school, it varies wildly. And even then it can vary anywhere from ten hours before I have to get up to not sleeping at all.

I like going to bed at 2:00 AM and getting up at 10:00 AM though. That schedule has always felt pretty comfortable.

On school nights, I usually fall asleep at 1:30 a.m.:animesmil On weekends, I don't really sleep at all. I find this strange because I love to sleep on the rare occasions that I get to!:animecry: I have an unhealthy sleep pattern, I know, but I guess I just don't friggin' care! HA HA HA HA HA!!!:animeswea

Well, like most, I go to bed around 11 or midnight during the school day. (Unfortunately, that's not my choice... I'm one of the few people I know who still has a bed-time... And I'm a senior in high school. :animedepr)

Anyway, if I had the choice, I would be nocturnal... I really wish I could find a high-paying job where I don't have to deal with a lot of people and only have to work at night... But of course, this wouldn't be for at least another four years until I get out of college.

However, I have my new secret called a laptop and I get a wifi connection all the way in my room... So on nights when I'm feeling particularly restless, (school night or not) I'll stay up all night or at least until 5 am... And since my parents leave for work at around 8, I can usually miss the first couple hours of school and it's fine. Everyone expects it with me. You could say I'm a modern day Ferris Bueller. (But not as cool. :animedepr)

Anyway, it should come as not surprise that my grades as a straight A student are steadily dropping and I have to take a bunch of semester tests now (when I'm usually exempt) But, I guess it's a case of senioritis...

By midnight... except lately, I've been finding myself going to bed around 10 =X Haha, it's nice to feel semi-rested, I was beginning to feel very estranged from the whole "sleep" thing. School is getting ridiculous around now anyway, so I suppose it just makes good sense.

On weekends, it really varies. Anywhere from early early early to so late, my Dad is up for the day, haha. Generally when I go to parties, I'm not in bed till 6 AM or something like that.

My sleep schedule is absolutely horrible. I generally go to bed between 12 and 1 (sometimes later) to get up at 6 for work. On weekends, I've been known to skip sleeping completely. Other times, I'll go to bed around 3-4 and sleep until 10 or 11. But for the most part, I actually tend to run on 4-6 hours of sleep comfortably. I've actually found that I can't stay asleep for 8 hours regularly, so my sleep schedule being kinda whacked is rather mandatory.

I tend to go to bed by midnight and get up pretty early. >_> Sometimes I stay up later, but not very often. It's kind of habit so I'm use to doing that. At least when I'm attending classes and such. When I'm either on vacation or between semesters, my schedule will change, but I always end up going back to what I'm use to once school starts up again.

I don't really have a set schedule.

If I have to get up early the next day, I try to sleep a little earlier, maybe around 10-11 but depending on how tired I am because there's been times where I had to wake up early the next morning (around 6-7) and I slept at about 3-4.

The other time is if I feel tired and can't keep my eyes open, I'll just go to sleep. If I don't feel particularly tired I won't sleep until I am, which may not be until the night of the next day.

And probably the last thing would be if I have an assignment, which I haven't started or completed, due the next day. That usually requires an all-nighter even though my eyes would be drooping and my mind wandering and wishing for sleep.

But I've never had a bedtime that I can remember, not even when I was young because my parents never really kept a close watch on me or my siblings, just suggesting we should go to sleep if it was getting late but not enforcing.

I normally don't hit the sack on school nights until about two or three in the morning, because of Karate and homework. But sometimes I get to bed earlier, depending on the homework factor.

I find it fascinating how many people can function off of six or less hours of sleep. I had to force myself into that state, but there's a bunch of people who do it naturally. Why do you think that is?

Seein' as I'm the kind of person that does it naturally, I personally think it's 'cause it's a force of habit! That or it's just 'cause we're talented people! Heh heh...:p Actually, I can function off of no sleep at all! Well, for a couple days. Otherwise, I could go on 2 minutes of sleep.:animesigh

I'm kind of the same way. Last weekend I went three days on like 2 hours of sleep, but I'm still recuperating from it. Having no sleep fries my energy level, and all I can do is sit at my computer and watch anime or post on weird forums...

School dictates my sleep schedule, though usually it's one of sleeping during night hours and being awake during the day. It all depends on what I need to do each day. Most of the time I don't stay up too late though, I'm use to getting up early and practicing before I do anything else.

That's how I like to start my day so that's what I usually do. Go to bed in time for me to be rested for practice in the morning, my day just doesn't feel right if I don't start it like that. I hate missing morning practice, even if I'm sick and can't help it.

On weekdays I go to bed around two in the morning after I get home from work and wake up at six. I wish I could sleep in, but I have to commute to school every morning.

Saturdays I get up a five in the morning to go to work. I get off a two, and I spend time with my boyfriend and do homework. I usually go to bed around midnight.

Sundays I get up at six to carpool with my boyfriend to church. He has band practice in the morning (He plays bass in the Worship Band), and I teach Sunday School. I get home around one or two and do homework. Depending upon how much I have to do, I go to bed between ten and four.

Keep in mind that many may have different time zones then you do, so it might be earlier for them than it is for you.

For myself, I am a not a morning person in the least and seem to function best when it's late. I swear if you want me to think of something good as me anytime around 2:00AM. Because my weekends are pretty busy and I have school during the weekdays, night time is usually my only time to catch up on watching back-logged anime I need to watch, chat with friends online or even catch up with forums. So I generally stay up anywhere to around 2:30AM to 4:00+ AM sometimes even later. Not a healthy choice I suppose but my Anime Otaku lifestyle calls for it, so it's either don't watch anime or don't sleep, I pick don't sleep.

Random times. There have been times when I've gone to bed as early as 7:00pm (would've been 6, but I refuse to go to bed without eating), and as late as 10:00am. (Don't ask) Most of the times when I go to bed between now (1:30am) and 3:00am it's normally due to not being able to go to sleep.

I just about always go to bed between 9-10pm. It's habit. I'm use to getting up early for school so by the time it hits 9pm... I start getting tired. It's the same even on the weekends... XP I'm just too use to going to bed early. Sometimes I'm up until midnight, but not very often.

I noticed that too, haha.

I have to wake up around 5:50 AM on school days, because I have to leave my house for the bus stop by 6:25. I like to get a decent amount of sleep every night so I don't wake up in a bad mood, so this means I should get to bed around 9-ish. I like getting nine hours a night, so sometimes I'll try to get to sleep between 8 and 9. This hardly ever happens, though, because there are too many distractions.

On the weekend nights, however, I don't have a schedule. I fall asleep if I'm tired/bored enough, as long as it's at least nine. Sometimes I can stay up til' 3 AM before crashing, and others I don't bother sleeping all night.

A few weeks ago I was constantly awake for almost two days. I just wasn't tired at all, and I hadn't had ANY caffeine the entire time, nor for several weeks prior. I could have stayed up longer, but I had places to be the following morning. Boo.

I go to bed between 1 and 3:30 or so most nights, and wake up between 8 and 9. About once or twice a week, I'll turn in a bit earlier (11 or 12) or sleep a bit later. Seems to be enough to keep me feeling well-rested and balanced. It's nice being young. :animesmil
