Lunar
We all know the two most popular gangs in America. The Bloods and the Crips, right? Should places like Wal-Mart sell blue or red bandanas considering the fact that these gangs use these colors?
Rachmaninoff
That's kind of silly if you really think about it. If you remove bandanas that are blue and red, there's nothing to stop someone from buying a plain one and dying it red or blue. So should they then not sell dye or plain bandanas too? Or how about plain cloth that one can use to make a bandana with? That line of thinking won't really do anything to change gang activity. So no, they don't need to yank them from the shelves. lol
boothten
Yeah, Wal-Mart should discontinue selling red and blue bandanas. Because according to a statistic I just made up, once you stop selling red and blue bandanas, gang violence involving Crips and Bloods will decrease by about 93.984% hahah ;D! <

boothten
I know for a fact it wouldn't change a thing. As if those gang members or their mothers couldn't make their own homemade bandanas? Just imagine it everyone. On KPBS or something, haha. Arts & Crafts: GANGSTERED OUT. haha I'm sure they would still manage to find a way to obtain their "precious bandanas." If Wal-Mart wants to keep selling them, I say go for it. It's not going to effect me anyway, unless I join the Mexican Mafia. Then we've got srs busness on our hnds gais. haha ;D
Cat
Even if Wal-Mart were to stop selling red and blue bandanas it wouldn't make a difference. You can just go to another store like Target and get the same bandanas. If the store is making money on bandanas they are going to keep selling bandanas. They aren't going to look into the background of every single customer that buys a bandanna to see if they are related to any gang activity case. If you are trying to stop some gang activity by not selling certain colored bandanas then there wouldn't be any bandanas in stores. I'm sure there is some gang out there thats wears yellow bandanas or purple or whatever other color.

Sabrina
If only it were that simple, removing clothing accessories to curtail gang activity. It would certainly be nice if such a thing could work, but I don't see it happening any time soon. If they couldn't get their bandanas, I imagine they'd just find some other means to either make them or come up with something else altogether. Raiha
Well considering my high school and virtually every public high school in California tried that....and completely failed.... Soon the Administration, in an attempt to curb the four gangs on campus, ended up banning the wearing of Red and Blue in GENERAL which is strange for a school whose colors were Red and Black.... .......but they they just kept finding more and more creative ways to express gangdom. I.E. a way they tied their shoes or wore their belts or surreptitiously given hand signals under desks or behind their backs. SO. In closing: perhaps gang violence could be decreased if the majority of these children who grow up into gang bangers are provided with a positive male influence in their lives that gives them a sense of belonging without having to join such an organization.

Along the same lines, should public venues stop selling certain types of sunglasses because gangs happen to wear them? Of course not, because that's an absolutely idiotic idea. Simply wearing a red or blue bandanna does not automatically affiliate you with either the Blood or the Crisps, so censorship of those items is beyond ludicrous.
Raiha
And for further clarification, the biggest gangs in the south right now happen to be the, you guessed it, Southsiders. They control the majority of prisons in California and several other midwestern states as well as oversee the illegal drug trafficking from Mexico. Now contrast that with MS13, a violent bunch of South American immigrants legal and otherwise that make the mafia look like a bunch of civilised gentlemen with odd taste. They spread across the majority of America before being kicked out of Los Angeles and San Bernardino county by the Southsiders. This has been a moment of truth and clarity and ghetto brought to you via information obtained from a college room mate I had recently.

Kitchen Sink
You can't be too careful when wearing bandanas. While banning bandanas will do nothing to curb crime (alliteration ftw) we must think of the health consequences. Bandanas are a major health hazard. The dye in them is actually a noxious poison once used by the Aztecs to subdue and control the minds of their enemies. No-one who comes under the control of the dye users even knows it, since they're in full belief that it was their own though process and actions. It is a vicious, yet inconspicuous menace. I came under the control of bandanna manufacturers once, and only knew of it once the effect of the dye had worn off. My parents and friends forced intervention to prevent myself from accessing bandannas. I was in a rage, my thirst for a bandanna was unquenchable, until it's powerful manipulation qualities wore off and those evil manufacturers could no longer access my mind. Even if a ban is unplaceable, if you want to keep your own mind, stay well clear of the bandanna and its mysterious aztec mystery dye.
