Walkthrew of Golden Sun

for: AGB Advanced

Getting Mia:

Get it so that anyone but Isaac has Flint set and Grow the vine you see when you go north (as in not jumping across the river). Now go up a little and jump from cliff to cliff. Now just follow the path and fall off the first cliff (looks like a slide looking thing) and then go in the door. Now you just follow the path in the cave and get the Elven Rapier which is STRONG give that to Isaac and the Bandit blade to Garret. Now you can either keep going if your strong or you can run back. There is a decent item not too far ahead if you dare going on. To get the item you must push the Pillar of fire next to the Ice Pillar to melt it. Now jump across the puddle of water and follow the path. You get a Vial (500 HP) in the chest. Stay here to level up if your into that sorta thing, i just come get the Items and make about 2000 coins here... and a few levels up as well but the money will help more than the levels. Now if you Want a djinni early just go threw the cave (south where you pushed the fire pillar) and then follow the path.

CURE HERE AFTER EVERY BATTLE the guys out here can hit for half of Ivans life so be careful. Use djinni and summons here for practicly one round kills about 1/2 the time and the other half... just hope they dont all go after one character ;), now just follow the path here and when you get to town go west in front of the first building, now go north untill you come to the bridge. Cross the bridge and walk tword the snowman. Move *R* the snowman to the left so that he is now on the ice :). Recross the bridge and go south, where you would ge left to go to the sanctum (big double doors) go right on to the ice instead. Now go North, west, north, west, north, east, north, west, south, west, north, east and up the ladder to the chest, in the chest is another vial (500 HP) for you to give to Garret. Now to get the Djinni here! Go back down the ladder and go west, south, east, north, west, north, west, north, east, north, west, north, east (should be into the snowman), north into the cave and you get another fire djinni which will help you in the boss battle that you currently have skipped ;).

Now to get Mia go to the first house you saw when you entered. Talk to the Grandfather in the back of the house until he gets sick and the grandmother runs over. Grab the treasure chest w/ the empty bottle in it. Now head west of the house and go the sanctuary and talk to the little girl. If she says you just missed Mia you can now go back to the house and watch her heal the grandfather. Then she sees a light and runs off to the lighthouse. So leave town and head over to the lighthouse.

Once at the lighthouse talk to Mia and then Move *R* the statue out of your way. She will learn of psyenergy and you will learn of the mercury clan. Now chase after her in the lighthouse and then kill the monster. 2 djinni and a summon will kill it. Now chase after her. Going north out of that room then taking either path and into the next room, both (mirrored) paths end up in the next room and go north out of there as well. jump across the little stone and then go up the stairs. Now go south and Move *R* the statue to the left so it falls in the Gap. Mia will now join your party.

Jump across the gap and go up. Walk east and go south out of the room. Push the first pipe right, walk down into the jet of water. Walk down then up the stairs, walk into the next jet, follow the path here down then up the stairs, go north, go down then up the stairs here, push the pipe left walk down, now go right, so that you can get that chest you saw, by going down then up the set of stairs follow the pipe infront of you to the chest then back track to where the first jet of water was and go left, go south then use the stairs again, then go south to leave the room. In the next room jump across the gap and then go around the lowered area (not using the ladder), follow the path till you find the statue, push it down 3 spaces, then left 8 and finally up 3, slide down the slide and go threw the arch, then up the ladder into the next room. Fall down the slide here as well.

Now jump north onto the lady's hands and use Mia's ply. You now have the ability to walk on water for 3 spaces (only from when you leave a blinking space). Jump to the right over the water and go up and out the door. Jump onto the blinking space and go right then down onto the ledge, go in the door. Change all your djinni to standby and talk to the chest. It is a mimic (how original) just attack it like it is a boss and you will recieve a water of life from it. Now go up the waterfall on the right. Jump on the ledge and jump to the island in the upper right hand corner open the chest and get the Psyenergy Armour. Equip Isaac with it since he gets more PP than Garret would and Garret doesnt really use much PP. So jump on the flashing space left of the island and go back to the mainland and out the door. Go up the left waterfall and go back to the left where you started all this from. Go to the north to leave this room and get to the next one.

Jump up onto the blinking space. Now jump 3 right, then one down, 3 right, 3 up, 3 left, 3 up, 5 left, pick up the sleep bomb and start over. from the first blinking space: 3 right, one down, 3 right, 7 up, 1 left, 1 right, 3 up, 4 left, 1 down, 2 left and then follow the path then just jump strait south, then leave the room. In the next room jump down and go out the door. Walk up the Middle waterfall here. Just go north in this room. In this room go threw and push all the horizontal pipes north and the vertical ones west. You will have your screen shake and you will see the room south of you fill up with water. Now go South to the room that filled up. Jump on the blinking square and then go 3 left and one jump north then threw the door, follow the path and go in the next door. Go into the right side door for the moment. Go the far left then the far north and cross the stairs, push the pipe next to the block left, then go threw the short set of staris and push the pipe right again, go along the long stairs and push the pipe left, then push the horizontal pipe down, use the long set of stair and push the pipe right. Now leave the room where you came in. Push the statue one space south and 2 left to open the door then go threw. Push the 3rd statue from the left either way, go in and get the nut, then leave and jump the gap, go down the ladder than up the ladder, walk all the way north and use Garrets Move *R* and jump across the gap into the door. push the pipe north here. The wall gets crushed into its self with water power! Go in the newly created door! Go in the 4th waterfall from the right to fight the next djinni Sleet.

Follow the path and go in the door at the end. Follow the path jumping when you have to and go out the door here as well. Go all the way the right and enter the far right waterfall. Now push the statue from the right using Move *R* and jump across and go up. Now just follow the path and go the end, SAVE BEFORE ENTERING, enter. Use Mia's Ply on the Statue and then walk tword the waterfall. Cure all your characters then talk to the psyenergy crystal.

Ivan: Level 12
Witch's Wand
Travel robe
Wooden Cap
Leather Gloves

Isaac: Level 12
Elven Rapier
Psyergy Armor
Wooden Cap
Bronze Shield

Garret: Level 12
Broad Sword
Leather Armor
Wooden Cap
Bronze Shield

Mia: Level 12
Witch's Wand
Fur Coat
Wooden Cap
Leather Gloves

is what i had for each character. Give all your useless items (weapon/armour you are stronger than/attack items/empty jar) to Mia, all your curative Items to Ivan, and your tolbi (all your lucky medals and game tickets) to Garret. Leave Isaac w/ only the Mars star and his equipment; Garret his equipment, the catch beads, and the tolbi items; Ivan his equipment and curative itmes; Mia everything else.

Set your djinni to Standby so you can call summons first ;)

Now go jump across and get ready for the long talk and battle then longer talk ;)

Ivan: Summon/psyenergy/djinni A/djinni B repeat (using curative itmes as need be)
Isaac: Summon/cure/djinni A/cure/Djinni B/cure repeat(dont always have to cure after the djinni)
Garret: Summon/psyenergy(or attack)/djinni A/djinni B repeat
Mia: Summon/ply/djinni A/djinni B/ply repeat (dont have to do last ply if your high on life)

just use that as a guide and you should be fine.

Congratulations you have defeated Saturous!!!

Ugg.. to much to read, here's the quick answer, just use Ply on the statue.

BTW lol, I like your member rank... Kuji-Wuji, how'd you get that lol. Another thing I've seen you type this a few times and I always thought it was a typo but what does AGB mean? I thought you meant GBA, or is it part of the new site? If I remember we had a section called Absoulute Game Boy.... Hmm
I think I hit the nail on the head.

dont worry i have been writing a walkthrew on this game and am 2 towns ahead of you (already beat it but playing it over so i get everything correct) so if you need help i can always just give you that... or a short version like cecil prefers ;)

lol, yeah I believe in K.I.S.S (keep it simple stupid). Yeah I got stuck on that part for a while... but that's what I needed for a while, a good RPG with good puzzle elements, another part I found hard was where you had to do the rearanging of the statues to open the door in Venus light house.

I've always wanted to write a walkthough for a game, I just never found anywhere to put it... I think maybe this might be my big break! ( goes to play some video games to write a walkthough).

A few comments on your walkthough, It's really good, but it has some flaws, I for one wouldn't like it very much because it seems more like a hold-my-hand walkthough. Also I'm assuming most people just need a quick answer (like in this case) and some people might be put off by the massive amounts of text that are in this one. It also doesn't really need parts like
now just follow the path here and when you get to town go west in front of the first building, now go north untill you come to the bridge.
Of course this is your walkthough and you can do what you want with it, and these are just my opinions.

well when you do a walkthrew you have to put things you would normally overlook. Anyway i have a few people editing them at them moment. as i said it was just a rough draft... weck i even spelled walktrough wrong lol... i just havent had time to check grammer and stuff like that yet...

and if you wanna write one talk to james about a game because we dont have a site for everything coming right off so just double check with him so you dont do one for something we dont have ;)

Cool, thanks for the advice. You probably right, when I first played it I didn't know about those fire pillar thing, you right to though, I may talk big but when I write I usually have lots of detail. Which is usually a good thing. Errr... we getting of topic here. Ok no more talking about writing walkthoughts and that such.

Altin... the miners town? Well have you beat them all including the big blue boss one? If you havn't there's this part with a long winding pathway. Use the force on the log and a HUGE boulder come flying after you and it will make a big hole in the ground climb down using the track as a ladder and fight the boss. After that you get the lift. Equip it on someone, and go south than east and find a boulder and use lift. Well that's all I can say.

BTW nice avatar kuja, it's somehow fitting to this topic.

I've got a question about the game. This is really sad, but I'm stuck right at the beginning in the giant tree, I think it's Trec, or something.... Anyways....I'm pretty sure I went all the way through, because I can't find anywhere else to go right now. I've been there for like 3 weeks! ahhhh! I really need help!!

Walkthrew of Golden Sun
by: kuja (aaron hicks)
for: AGB Advanced

Kolima Village:

NORMAL STORY: Head east out of Bilbin and go to the baracade. Once there go to the left of the baracade and Move *R* the box out of your way. Now go threw and leave the baracade (hard huh?). Ok now cross the bridge and in a shocking turn of events... go left to where there is a dead end. At the end of it there is a forest and just start hitting *A* when your in the forest you will find the Turtle shoes in here. I personally just sell them cause they barely raise my DEF but kill my Agility, and they go for 450ish coins.

Now head on over to Kolima Village in the east, and have trent try to turn you into a tree and have your psyenergy save you ;). (if you have Mia she will say a few funny things). Now look around town there are a few items to find in boxes and stuff but ill leave that to you ;). To find the djinni that is penned in you can go into the back of that house (that the pen is attached to) and go threw an underground passage to get it. Now leave town and to north west tword the forest.

Once in the forest head north, then when you get to the river go east so that you are where you can push a log left and it will land in the water! now go across the river north of it and then push the next log you come across left and then just go left to the next screen. Just walk south around the log to save time and then when you are the backside of it look at the trees. See the nut in the tree use Garret (who should still have the catch beads) and use catch when you are south of it looking up at it. Now go back to the bottom row of solid trees and go left. see the horizontal tree (left to right) push it on its left edge south. Now just walk past the other log and go north for about 3 steps, now just kinda follow the path, remembering the bushes/taller grass cant be walked threw. Now this screen is fun. go to the log that is vertical (up and down) and push it left. now walk north threw the rocks u-turn and push the next log south. Push the first one right again, the 3rd on south, walk 2 steps left and then go north till the 2nd one is as high up as it will go, now go back and push the 1st one left all the way into the water! Using the log jump across the water to get to the other side.

This next puzzle is quiet fun, or confusing all at once. Go to the logs and jump across them (this is so i can establish #s for them and for you to understand my #s. first log you get on is #!, jump north of it for #2, step north for #3, go left for #4, now go back to #3 and jump right for #5 k good. Now go back to the first one and get off the logs, go south and then east to the flood gate and its switch, flip it and have the water drain. Now go down the stairs and push #3 up, #5 up, #4 right, #3 down, #2 right, #5 down, #2 left, now go flip the switch and jump across the logs and get the fur coat in the chest. If you have Mia give it to her... if not give it to whomever you like. Eziest way to get this next part is to just leave the screen and come back. Now go drain the water again and push log #4 left, then go fill the water back up, now jump #1 to #2 to #3 to #4 and then north to get to the next screen.

Now you are at the growing grounds of the great tree Tret. Go over to Tret and climb up the vine provided for you. Now go around to the back of this room (either path is fine) and climb the vine here. Go as far south on the dirt as you can, then jump across the cacoons on the bottom row, on the last one jump north to the dirt then leave the room to the right. On this branch go all the way to the right of the branch, right before the end will be a vine going up use that to get to the next branch (all the side branches off that one have nothing. On this one go left into the next room. If you feel the need to get the psyenergy stone jump onto the cacoon and them fall down the hole to the next level and work your way back up. Definatly get the treasure chest thou because it contains a healing ring that will restore 70 HP to you later if you need it. Now climb back up to that level, the souther exit is a dead end with nothing to get there, so jump across the cacoon and go up the vine. Go south out of this room and then head over to the vine that grows upward to the next branch. Go west on then branch then make and imediate turn north. Get ready for another djinni battle this one is a wind djinni named Breeze. Now go threw the door west of this location. Jump onto the cacoon here and then jump left to the open spot to fall down to the next level. Now go east out of this room and then head south just outside the door, take the vine you run into up, then head east into the door. Go to the north of this room and jump south off the ledge to the first cacoon, go south off the first, then left, south, and jump north to fall to the base of the tree. CURE AND MAKE ALL DJINNI STANDBY TO SUMMON. Take the right path to get to Tret's evil self. This is a slightly hard battle with 3 people but very easy with 4. For Ivan and Garret just go Summon/psyenergy(or attack)/djinni A/djinni B then repeat. For Isaac go Summon/cure/djinni A/cure/djinniB/cure then repeat (you dont have to do the 2nd or 3rd cure if your characters have enuff life left. Mia Summon/ply/djinni A/djinni B/cure then repeat (again dont have to do the second cure since fizz is a cure djinni). Using this simple stratagy you should do just fine. You can use one of your own as well but this one keeps the attacks going and the life high and you beat him without using any items.

Once you free his good self he tires to save the people of Kolima and it dont work. So you must defeat the lighthouse to save him and the town.

pretty much... when you are about to fight a boss... just set all your djinni to standby and then summon it... the next round cure if needed or use your best psyenergy attacks, then use the djinni that recovered and so on and so forth... this game is SIMPLE to beat with the enemy's i was only at level 25 the first time threw, but the puzzles are hard

THE LADY IS YOUR MOTHER!!! issac's mother that is. yeah the game is great! but still its really hard if your bad with RPG's. but the bad part is that after the mercury lighthouse it ends. gotta wait for the sequel. im now in the mercury lighthouse and im working on the fusion dragon. its impossible because my HP is down with my first battle with Saturos and Menardi. But hey, its not impossible. And I agree when this guy says if you didn't figure out she was your mother, you should sell your game. or better yet...quit RPG's and all video games ALL TOGETHER!!!! :flaming:

There a few plot holes in the game... but only once you analize the game like i did *blah* and i still havent finished my walkthrew i got lazy ;)

Ok Kuja, quick question. I have gotten to the Venus lighthouse? (the one where you have to travel from Babi's Lighthouse to get there) My question is pretty simple, since I don't feel like asking a hundred others atm.

What levels should my charcters be? My team's range is from 29 - 27, but I still find myself getting my butt whipped by some easy enough guys.

Ok, I will add a follow up question.

I have played through most of the game keeping certain Djinns on certain characters (for example, Garret was my fire Djinn guy, Ivan was my Wind). I have been trying to change this around a bit, but their levels on status screen don't seem to be moving up at all when I take the Djinns back off. I am quite sure I SHOULD have done that much differently, but I have been playing this game on and off forever, and keep forgetting parts of the story, what I am supposed to be doing. I even had the whole Djinn thing down, but have forgotten it since.

Oh well, any help from ANYONE would be appreciated, thanks guys.

well i beat the game at level 25... and beat crossroad island at 28... so u shouldnt have too hard of a time... but i use normal weapons and curative magic only... never was into the big spells in any game... except for boss battles. anyway the djinni is probably better the way you have it... cause it makes each character stronger w/ that summon every time they use it (the elements level up *per char* each time you use them) so if you keep them summoning the same summon it will be ez! anyway i was 25 and my summons were 9 and i think i may have gotten one of those levels during the last boss run ;)
