Convention Mayhem!

[COLOR="DarkOrchid"][FONT="Times New Roman"]Well, since Anime Expo in Southern California has already passed, making way for the Cons that actually count...and have 'con' in their name, let's talk about cons.

This year I'm attending ComicCon- San Diego because not only will 8bit theatre, VG cats, and PennyArcade be there... But also several other amazing webcomic artists as well as those nice hookers-I mean exotic dancers that hand out free stuff. Also on the plans is Yaoi-Con in September in San Mateo.

So I'm curious. Are there any cons in your area you're attending? Will you cosplay? Will there be cows? Tell me tell me tell me!

That and if anyone is going to any of the aforementioned, we should totally meet up and you know...have a repeat of the last Anime Expo where I met Adam and Panda and other such OB luminaries.[/FONT][/COLOR]

No clue... I don't even know if there will be one in my area. But I want to go; I've always wanted to attend a convention. A-Kon is about the only one in my area that's a bearable distance to drive to, but that's already passed. So, I've got to do a bit of research... Or a lot of driving

[color=#9933ff]Ditto on the wanting to go to Yaoi-con. There's going to be a Weiss Kreuz panel this year (I only know because the girl hosting it is the maintainer of a Weiss lj comm) and I'd love to go to it. But it's in Cali, so that'd be a "no."

I'm definitely cosplaying for my cons!! I'm being Edward Elric (an artbook picture where he's wearing something completely different), and Asuka Murase from Weiss Kreuz (the dead girl Youji moan's over all series. XD). I'll be in lolita, as well, and hopefully in a new dress if I can get around to making it in time. >>;

I went to AnimeNext, which was pretty good, and I can't wait to go to Otakon in August. NY Anime Fest is pretty early this year, September, but I'll be going to that, too. I just... have to register. ^^;;[/color]

I go to Gen Con Indy. Mostly gaming, but there's also a very friendly Anime Avenue that's not as big and scary as a real anime con and everyone there is more or less family.

In a few weeks here, I am going to go to my city's first anime/video convention called Spocon. Wanting to support my city I decided to go to that.

I am already planning for next year's sakura con with what I want to dress up as, etc. I am so excited and can't wait!

I'll probably start going to Cons when I have my own car so I won't have to listen to my parents complaining about taking me somewhere for a "stupid purpose." They don't like the fact that I'm an anime-junkie.[/FONT][/CENTER]

Should be good, it was fun the last time I went and I've had to miss the last two years because of soccer stuff interfering and other such trips. I'm planning on cosplaying for sure. Fuu from Samurai Champloo and older Ema Skye from the Phoenix Wright games.[/FONT]

That's where I met SunfallE last year after all. =P It was my first convention I ever went to as well. It wasn't a huge deal, but it was still fun just the same. I just hope there isn't a concert for that weekend since the date might be changed with it being so close to Halloween. Though I'll still stop in during the day if that's the case.

[COLOR="DarkOrchid"][FONT="Times New Roman"]So I've reached the packing stage, since I'll be driving down tomorrow night with a friend. And since we're both mainlining about 5 hours of sleep in the past 48 hours, we should be nice and fried for the drive.

So I can't decide on if I really want to pack jeans or shorts, since the weather in San Diego is slated to be high 70s give or take. And do I really REALLY want to bring my computer? ....yes. Since my friend's stereo is broken but he has an actual plug outlet in his car. I mean what could happen? Besides us both falling asleep and driving his Ford Focus into a ditch.[/FONT][/COLOR]
