Besides being filled with moe goodness, a precocious loli, and a chainsaw-wielding maid, it's turned out to be incredibly hilarious in a Lucky Star-like way. There are plenty of references scattered around, some obvious and others that are more subtle. It's gotten better with every episode so far and turned into one of my favorites of the season.
Meggido
I started watching this today and I must say after 2 eps it is absolutely marvelous. I've been looking for a good comedy like this for a while. Haven't laughed this hard since watching Hayate no gotoku. I must say though that ep 2 has one particular scene I wouldn't mind screen shotting and placing in the anime out of context thread. I'm sure you know what scene Desbreko. Desbreko
Hah, yes, I think I do know the scene you're talking about. I considered posting it in there as well but I didn't get around to it. So very much innuendo, yet Haruka is so very clueless. :animeswea
daldaren
After seeing this thread I checked it out, definately have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised. Not only is the romantic atmosphere nearly perfect, but the comedy is both direct and subtle, keeping me laughing through each of the four episodes that are out at the moment. Who can say no to a show with 14-year old girl panty shots and chain-saw wielding maids? Does that sound as bad as I think it does? Oh well, I think I was already damned to hell after buying the Mahoromatic DVD set in all it's loli-sento glory.
Shinmaru
I'm through episode six right now. I don't think the show is amazing, but it's pretty funny and cute, so I'll keep on the train. Hope the stories become more engaging, though, because right now it kind of feels like the show sleepwalks through the stories. At least it's funny enough for that not to be much of a problem at the moment. :P
Meggido
I'm putting ep6 down as one of my favourites in the series along with eps 2 and 3. They're the eps that have actually made me laugh the most. At the moment it has been suggested that its only going to be a 13 ep series but nothing seems to have been confirmed yet. Desbreko
I haven't been able to find out how many episodes it's supposed to be either. Hopefully that means a 24-26 ep run is possible. With what little has happened in the first six episodes, it seems like 13 episodes would be too few; unless they really ramp things up from here on out, the pacing feels more like a two-season show.
Guest CR Zee
umm... bump Anyway I hope you are right I want this series to be long one, but the main problem has just been solved, so if series is going to continue and new problem must appear. I hope it continues because I really love this series.
Desbreko
Ep7 did solve a pretty big plot point but I still think there's enough possibilities for a second season. For example, we've barely seen anything of Shiina so far (other than her panties) and there's been hints that it'll develop into a love triangle situation between her, Yuuto, and Haruka. The preview for ep8 made it sound like it will focus on Mika and Shiina, too. I wouldn't mind seeing more focus on Mika herself, really. Loli power is ftw.
Meggido
Well 12 eps seems to be the official total according to an updated aniDB. Hopefully we get a second season at some stage though.
Shinmaru
Eh, watched it the whole way through, and it never really picked up like I hoped it would. A lot of opportunities were wasted (Shiina being the biggest -- I actually liked her character and was sad that she basically became a half-hearted rival for Yuuto's affections that the series just threw away after a while), and I could never get into the relationship between Yuuto and Haruka the way I wanted to, despite liking both characters. The final ep is predictable and kind of silly -- the arrogant, pretty boy blonde guy villain is so lame and cliche that I laughed him off and never really took him seriously. Also, I was wondering the whole time why
Yuuto actually took the generic villain's words to heart, even if it was for a relatively short time. He knows Haruka loves being an otaku; it's her passion. He knows his present is coming from actual knowledge of who Haruka is and what she loves rather than what people would assume she loves. That's why Yuuto's emo moments came across as silly to me.
Oh well. There were some enjoyable moments in the series and a bunch of likable characters, even if the story did not pan out the way I hoped it would. Desbreko
I was disappointed with the second half of the show as well, for all the same reasons. With it ending up at only 12 episodes, everything past ep7 felt incredibly rushed. And emo Yuuto certainly didn't help; I went into the series expecting a mountain of cliches, and I got them, but that one was totally out of place.
Meggido
Yeah the second half was a kind of a let down. I mean after the whole misunderstanding regarding the Shiina and Yuuto incident I was hoping for a lot more in that sort of area. I mean it was obvious that Shiina liked Yuuto so for a romantic comedy you'd have expected a lot more regarding a sort of rival. It would have been a great place for a lot of cliches. Then again I reckon we should have been given more than 12...even if it was 1 or 2 more eps.
