RiaBinx
My sister was making some Pina Colodas (non- alcholic), when she put in some orange juice ( I didn't know), I asked her after my second cup why it was so different tasting, she said that all she put in was the drink mix and orange juice, so I just said, lets not put any orange juice in it anymore. Later my dad says, "oh, I forgot to mention, don't drink the orange juice, it is a drink mix Peggy and I mixed up." I had felt light headed after I had finished with the Pina Colodas ( I had about 4 or 5 cups ), now I guess I know why.
Drizzt Do'urden
hehe that's funny because a similar thing happened to me. I went out with some friends as the D.D. one night a couple years ago. I had went to a bar and had been ordering Virgin(manly) mai-tai's. Well as the night went on I had about 6 or so of them. And had been sitting for the whole night (bout 2 hrs.). Now anyone who drinks will tell you if you're drinking DO NOT sit down for a long time. Because when you get to your feet all that light-headedness will hit you at once. Well needless to say I landed on my butt when it was time to go....as I sat there trying to figure out what was wrong ith me (never been drunk before) the waitress brought me my tab and it was double what I should've been paying. I asked her why that was and she said. "Oh...you wanted virgin mai-tai's. OH your the DD?....I'll go call you a taxi my treat"

chibi-master
Argh...this brings back nasty memories...once, when I was six or so, I came in from playing outside and I was really thirsty. And I saw this glass full of pale yellow beverage (no jokes, or I fry you.)...I thought it was lemonade *sob*! But when I walked over and drank some...I knew it wasn't lemonade...it tasted and smelled alcoholic. I can usually smell the hideous odor of alcohol from across any lenght of space (nice talent, huh?), but I had a cold and my nose was stuffed up...and it is terrible experiences like this that I will never drink alcohol...such a nasty taste...never...will...forget...*pukes up guts*:animedepr

I grew up in a household that doesn't drink so there wasn't anything in the house for me to get into. Or for my siblings to trick me into drinking either. =P

Claire
My family went to a neighborhood's luminaries a few Christmas' ago, and along the walk people had little tables full of refreshments. My sister asked a man for a cup of what she thought was punch, took one sip, and made a horrified face. It wasn't punch at all, it was sangria. I believe the experience will prevent her from giving in to peer pressure in the future, haha.

Certain liquors and mixed drinks can be very dangerous in the fact that you can't taste the alcohol and in say, my case, you slam them since there isn't a strong burn. Now, after six drinks I think you would be feeling the effects whether you are sitting or not, but perhaps it is part placebo. You think you are drinking alcohol free drinks so you don't feel the effects as easily. That however is just a little thought, not really true.
