DeLarge
This is the thread where you can share with the people of OB all those odd little things that you do that make you wonder if you are normal or not. This can be anything from arranging your CDs in alphabetical order to flicking the light switch on and off thirty times before you leave a room otherwise your grandmother will die. (By the way, this is in no way having a pop at anyone who actually suffers from OCD or any related condition - I realise it is a serious disorder and I'm not making light of it at all.) I have many little things that I do - these include the fact that whenever there are coins in front of me I will stack them in order of size - biggest at the bottom, going up to the smallest at the top, and that if I'm chewing gum, I have to have at least two pieces in my mouth - having just one doesn't seem nearly enough. I also talk to myself at considerable volume when I'm alone in the house, and occasionally, even when there is no music playing, I will do a little dance. I've even been known, on occasion, to spend an entire day pretending to be either a member of The Beatles or Michael Caine. Another one is that whenever I say something funny it tends to be in a West Country accent - I just find the accent hilarious for no real reason. So, tell us all what little quirks make you you. I have lots more which I will add once some other people have revealed their innermost secrets. Have fun!

Cat
Well I'm one of the few that can't stand cd, books, and movies being out of alphabetical order. When they do I take everything out of the book cases and re-order it all. I have around close to hundred books, cd cases, and movies so it takes a while. When ever I go to bookstore I have to buy a new book. Even if I really don't have the money for it. I tend to talk to the animals or myself when theres no one home. Its just to quiet if I don't then I can't focus of the tasks that need be done like dishes. When people pop there fingers I can't stand the sound think that someone dislocated them. Yet its alright for be to pop my own.
Shinmaru
I wrote in Associated Press style so much in college that I do it without thinking now. It is actually driving me up the wall right now, because I am interning at a Los Angeles Times newspaper, and Times style has quite a few breaks from AP style. It hurts to use "%" instead of "percent." :( I always make sure all chairs are pushed in when I leave a room. It's not so much a compulsion as something that is common decency. chibi-master
It is a part of daily life for me to carry on conversations with the characters that my friend and I created. I just have to imagine them in the room with me. Seriously, I even created an account on gaiaonline.com for one...:animeswea I hear voices all the time. Seriously. And sometimes, they turn out to be peoples thoughts...:animedepr I spend hours at a time obsessing over whether or not I spelled a word correctly in a post. Eventually, I just test it out on Microsoft Word... I talk to everything. Trees (especially when I was in first grade), animals, myself, my reflection, stuffed animals and household appliances. I like odd numbers. And I CAN'T STAAAND even numbers. I like the direction 'left' more than 'right'. If I take 7 steps with my right foot and six with my left, I have to take one more with my left just to even it out. Even though I don't like even numbers. (I can never decide which side deserves to have more steps or whatever than the other.) I cry if my daydreams ever turn sad. Even though they're just daydreams...hey, don't look at me like that! I can't control them.:animesigh If a song or daydream gets me pumped, I beat the ******* out of the nearest object or person...
Vicky
I stay up all night long until about 7 or 8 in the morning and sleep through most of the day. If you don't believe me, consider the time difference between where you are and where I am, then notice at your midnight I'd still be online =p. I won't go outside without my sunglasses on. That and they're prescription so I can't actually see without them, but if I could see without 'em I wouldn't take them off. Normally, I give myself some kind of excuse to get up and walk around. Mostly so I can think about stuff, day dream, or just... move, haha. It takes me twice as long to write things because I'm always getting up and fetching things.
Hurting people/yourself is better than sex. More of a thrill. Hehee.
I don't seem to get too stressed out when everyone is falling a part around me. Normally I'm the one there laughing or encouraging people to fight amongst themselves and argue, haha. I make a point of being really really violent because I'm short. That's right, it's little man syndrome! I like the switch lights on and off for no apparent reason at all. And if I switch one off I have to check I have (even when there's no light at all) by running my hand over it again, maybe twice or so. Sometimes I take really random walks so I can have a little mind wanderer or listen to some music (and still let my mind wander). I'm sure other people do this though. I collect bottlecaps and lids, too. A part from that, I reckon I'm pretty normal.

Roxie Faye
I'm sure i have quirky habits, I just can't think of any right now. I know that I'm a complete spazz online, whenever I say something on a lj comm or message board, so I'm definitely not normal already. ^^;
James
I probably have a million weird habits, although I can't really think of any at the moment. For a while I was a bit like Vicky, where I was totally noctural (or preferred to be, anyway, haha). It's weird that now I just can't do it...even if I stay up late and sleep in a lot, I can't seem to stay up as late as I used to. Maybe I'm just so used to having a routine where I have to be awake early in the morning. *shrug* I also sometimes feel the need to take a random walk with music, if for no other reason than to clear my mind a bit. It's amazing how well it can work sometimes. Although I guess quite a few people probably do that at times.

Nomurah!
Hmm. I wear girl shades, and dress in shirts with light colours, such as pink, cyan, lime, etc. My favorite shoes are a Japanese brand that are white, with lime green and cyan trim. I love shoes. I have many pairs. And, also. Some might call me "gay" but, I actually like girls very much. My living room turns into a stadium at night, and my iPod, a microphone. I straighten my hair religiously, because I'm too self-conscience to leave the house without my hair straightened. My showers usually last about.. say... an hour? I hardcore dance, regularly, at shows, even if I'm the only one. I don't text people. I barely ever use my cell phone. My dog Nubbs, is not a dog, but more of a little brother to me. I tell everyone I love them. Guys, girls, anyone. If I love them, I'm not afraid to say it. My friends call me "Hunter the Mann Mann". I have NASCAR pajamas. Not because I like NASCAR. But because they're comfortable. My friend Trey and I always talk in some sort of accent around each other. Lately, our accent has been based off of Niko's Russian accent. (Grand Theft Auto 4). I'm in a band called the Bumbershoots and another called I Was The Red Wine of 1955. Many wonder about these names. I do too, sometimes. I'm afraid of ghosts. I live by a cemetary. Right by it. I bite my nails. Too much. I don't like too much light. I like dimmed rooms. Not dark. Not bright. Dim. Anything more will hurt my eyes, and anything less will scare me. I actually get sick when I wake up early in the morning. As in. Morning sickness. But I am a guy. I'm not pregnant. I just get sick. Almost every morning. Usually not in the evenings. I'm pretty normal, I suppose.
Boo
I count the steps of stairs I walk on more often so that I can calculate if I have to step up one step or can just start from the bottom if I want to take two steps at a time and arrive at the top without first stepping on the second last step.
Rachmaninoff
It's been seven and a half years and I still come here.
If this was a contest... I'd say you just won. =P Anyway, probably my biggest quirk is that I have to practice when I get up in the morning. If I don't, it just throws my entire day out of whack. I've tried taking a day off but it just bugs me all day long that I didn't practice. It's good in the sense that it's gotten me through school, but at the same time, whenever I'm sick... I feel like I'm going crazy if I can't do stuff. The other thing I tend to do is be very organized. I like having all my cd's and everything nicely in order. It's just so much easier to find a disk when it's where it should be. At the same time... I don't care if the rest of the place outside my things is a bit messy, just my own shelves and room have to be in order.
chibi-master
If I eat breakfast, I become ridiculously sick and puke later. I have a habit of trying to find different ways of pronouncing the word 'squirrel' with my friend. (Squee~rel; Squiral; Sque~relelel!) I am half-dead in the morning and do not see anything but slow-motion blurs. And I don't understand English in the mornings. If you talk to me while I'm asleep, I will have an entire conversation with you and not remember a thing when I wake up. But this only happens if I'm so exhausted or comfortable that I don't wake up if you get within a 15 foot radius of my sleeping self. (Worse part is, I'm bitterly cruel when I talk to people in my sleep...) I have a habit of cussing out anyone who shakes me awake without realizing who woke me up. "[enter my name here], time to get up! And make it snappy!" "W-wha?! Who's there?! Get the ******* outta my room!" "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY, [enter full name here]?!" "Oh, sorry Mom! I thought you were [enter little sister's name here]!"
Allamorph
I see spoken words as text. ....sort of. It's more like I can feel/see them just behind my vision while I'm in a conversation. But because of this, I also hear all written text as if someone is speaking it, and my interpretations of inflection are generally accurate. I also have difficulty looking into the eyes of the person I'm speaking to for longer than three seconds. I don't really know why. I do know that if I look into their eyes while they're speaking, I can almost see who they are. It's kinda freaky.
Sabrina
I have this thing about organizing certain things, like lists or books or cd's. I do the same with my groceries and spices. >_> I just like those kind of things to be in order. On the other hand though, my bed doesn't have to be made and I don't care if my socks are all in order in their drawer. I just don't like a band that starts with an N sitting next to one that starts with a C. It just bugs me until I put it in order. o_O
DeLarge
I just realised last night that, as I normally only have a single bed at home, whenever I sleep on a double bed I have to take up as much space as possible. I slept on a double-futon last night at my brother's house, and ended up in many different positions. Diagonally across the bed and in a sort of crucifix-shape (which I did to see what it would be like to be Jesus) were just two of them. I also watch bits of films when I'm bored. I find it very difficult when I'm that bored to watch an entire film, so I watch the best parts of three or four films instead of one whole film.
Sangome
I kinda have the same problem as Alla, I have extreme trouble looking people in the eyes, just in general...but that's just 'cause I am an Aspie. :P But seriously, it's super hard for me to. Though yesterday, I DID manage to hold a good conversation with someone while looking them in the eye...I was kinda startled I was able to do so, honestly. Also, if I'm wearing a headset and listening to music, I HAVE to be up and moving around. If I don't move to the music, I go berserk. I don't even DANCE, I just...move. I was like that with music on my old home comp, too...but, strangely enough, since I've gotten a laptop, that urge to move to music has dropped entirely [though it's still the same way with a portable mp3 player].

Anakoni Stark
I literally start freaking out when my playlist ends in a odd number, right now my collection stands at 316 songs. another odd quirk I have is, when I watch my deaf friends sign, I can hear a digitized voice in my head putting the signs into words and reading it aloud to me the same digital voice will put the words into a coherent sentence if needed. I also have this odd fear of showing my face, or directly staring into a the camera proof is evident from my page I also have acrophobia and a fear of being crowded spaces, and conversly I also suffer from claustrophobia.
