Pure Blood

The Enemy

After several months of artificial vampires encroaching on their territory and stealing their food. The pure bloods became aggravated with this new 'trend'. One night Alucin was walking down a lonely street and came upon a small flyer taped to a telephone pole. "BLOOD BATH! Playing Live!" The poster read, it had a date and time as well. 'blood bath' was a fictional band, vampires gathered once in a while, usually every few years or so, to have a sort of party. Dozens of pure bloods showed up every time, the numerous humans eager to see a new hard core sounding band usually became the feast of the night.

Vampires of every grade and calibre showed up for the chance to connect with others of their kind, to get a free meal, and hey everyone loves loud music. Alucin grinned slightly as the read the poster. He had been looking forward to the next blood bath gathering for some time now. There were always the couple of young vampires who had a few too many drunks to drink, and got riled up for a fight. Alucin revelled in watching these foolish 'children' squabbling amongst themselves.

Upon arriving at the address, the building looked like a run down warehouse. Walking trough the first set of doors revealed several black clothed bouncers. All vampires, usually assigned to the job for their particularly enhanced strength. The idea was to decide which of the entrances the arrivals went to. If the guests wee fond to be human, the bouncers welcomed them in with a few scantily clad young looking girls. This entrance led to a very dark room in which the guests were often tied up, or drugged. If you were proven to be a vampire, and a pure blood a that, the bouncers directed you toward the opposite hallway, which lead into a large indoor concert.

The way on would tell what species the guests were was petty simple. For one most of the vampires greeted with "I'm here for a meal" or a similar phrase, where as annoying humans often exclaim "where's the party?!" If not identified immediately by their greeting the bouncers will ask guests to show them a smile, often asking them to bare their fangs. This doesn't scare off the human arrivals, as the gothic mood of the entire place blended with the greeting, and they felt all the more welcome after their canines seemingly impressed the bouncers. Though a quick show of the fangs easily weeded out the humans.

Finally if you were indeed a vampire, the bouncer would produce a small sharp knife, and give you a cut. Usually on the back of your hand, your shoulder, palm, or wherever else your outfit and attitude permitted. The reason was that, while artificial vampires do carry a number of vampire traits, and often even posses a significant power akin to a pure blood. For some reason the artificial vampires never attain the inbred regeneration of a pure vampire. Assuming the quickly healed cut proved your purity, the bouncers directed you toward the proper doorway.

Once inside Alucin smiled at the surrounding chaos. Vampires jumped up and down with the throbbing music, while the more regent grain sat around and discussed their doings and plans over several years. Most amusing was the occasional vampire with a human, either leading them into a private feeding room in the back, or openly gorging on their neck out in the open. The meals were free for the needy, but for free you got a goth punk rocker with too many chains and not enough muscle. If you paid a fair price however, there was a rains of dinners on the menu. The meals stretched from body builders, and strippers, to cheerleaders and young virgins. All of which were either bound and gagged on delivery, or heavily sedated and hardly conscious.

As one of the vampires that lived for the hunt Alucin decided to pass on the menu, and wandered throughout the crowd. Simply observing the various differing vampires there. His calm observing was disturbed when some vague male screams came from the front area. Alucin ducked and weaved through the mob to get a seat on the front line should it be anything entertaining. But when he arrived it was not at all what he was expecting. Several men and women were tearing through the mass of party-goers. The vampires were being attacked!?

The attackers were supernaturally strong and fast, matching most of the vampires in both speed and strength. The vampires threw an onslaught of horror upon the attackers, fire, waves of force, spikes of ice, even monstrous shape shifters, bore through the attacking force. Though it was not enough. For all the pure blood's powers, they were not very numerous, and the attacking force was well beyond 2:1 against the pure blood defenders. Skilled fighters like Alucin held the line firm, he blew through the attackers' defence, his wires glistening slightly in the flashing lights.

After the fight was over, the pure blood had won, though they had taken heavy damage. Only a handful of them remained alive, gathering among the shredded corpses, the elite survivors looked around the small group, scanning each other. "We need to finish this" Alucin stated coldly, "we have to kill them all.."
"But how?" asked a younger vampire girl.
"We simply hunt down all of those grotesque artificial vampires, and find out where they are coming from." Alucin explained "But first we should weed out the weak willed. Everyone go to your homes for now, gather your weapons andany other minor supplies, then those still interested in finishing this will meet up in the dark district. I don't know about you guys, but I'll be there." Alucin concluded as he alked out of the blood bath."

Sabien smiled as Alucin walked out of the blood bath. The fighting had invigorated Sabien, and Alucin had a plan to take care of more of these....imposters. Though in reality they weren't worth his time, the fact that whoever was creating these things actually spilled the blood of pure bloods.

Sabien turned to follow Alucin out calling to him. "That was some speech my friend. Is this for real?" Alucin didn't even turn around to ackowledge him. "What do you think?"

Sabien stoped and smiled, this was going to be good. A chance to really utilize his powers for the first time in a century. Sure he'd use them to lure prey, but that was only to keep fresh. This would be the first time he could actually use them....

Sabien elected not to return home, he had no reason too. Everything he needed was at his disposal, his sword (which had an upside down cross shaped pommel, a symbol of satan, and a direct insult to the humans "god".), his dirk (which was the weapon he killed the vampire that turned him.), and his powers.

He walked into the dark distrit, looking in everywhere for Alucin, but not finding him. I must be the first here, oh well. Might as well grab a bite before everyone gets here he thought with a smile as he saw a young man who strode into the vampire infested district. Probably on a dare from his friends, or for his own pride. Either way, he was going to make a good meal.

Ony sat on her haunches panting heavily, she stood and shook out her fur as the others filed out one by one. She went to her meger apartment and grabbed her scythe, she than strapped it to her back and shifted back into her wolf form and headed to the Dark District. Arriving there she realized she was the second one there and saw with grim realization that Sabien was stalking a man who had unknowingly wandered into the district not knowing what he was getting himself into . She sighed and followed not ever really seeing one of the others have a meal; she was aware that it was most likely going to be a gruesome sight. She looked away as Sabien dropped down in front of the man, she listened intently as the man pleased with Sabien to spare his life.
"I have a wife and three kids, please let me go..."
She stiffened as she heard this and dropped her scythe, transforming she leaped down from where she was and snapped at Sabien's feet til he backed up, the man took the chance he had and ran, as Sabien tried to give chase to the man she snapped at him again.
"Blood sucking bitch, you just cost me a meal."
She shifted and stood in front of him not wavering as he advanced on her.
"I do not like to see needless killing."
"You call me feeding needless?"
"On one like him, yes."
She stood still as he backed her up against a wall and looked down into her eyes, his as hard as stone. She showed no sign of fear as he stared her down.
"Your annoying."
"Your just another monster like me, only I have mercy."
"I don't believe in the word."
"Not many of our kind do I've learned."
He slammed his hand into the wall by her head and smiled as she didn't even flinch.
"You may be more interesting than I first thought."
She let out a breath that she didn't realize she had been holding as he backed away from her and went in search of another meal, she reached in her bag and pulled out a small bag of cloned blood, sinking her teeth into the bag she drank the bag quickly and than rested against the wall waiting for the others. "It's always such a shame to see children fighting like this." The somewhat hollow voice echoed through the quiet streets a second before two figures appeared from the shadows. Kieran and the much younger vampire he had sired, Melissa, stood watching the scene between Ony and Sabien. "One would imagine that by now they would have been taught some manners. Instead of behaving like squabbling toddlers."

If he received any looks from the two younger vampires then Kieran never showed a reaction to it. On the other hand, Melissa smirked at the comments. Ony's gaze fell upon her at the point, and Melissa only reacted by by sticking out her tongue, revealing a bright silver piercing, and waving it in a lewd manner.

"That's enough, Raven," Kieran spoke without looking toward her. "I may tolerate you playing with your food, but I will not have you acting the same around our kind." His voice was stern, and displayed a bit of irritation. Whether it was at her, the two other vampire's behaviors, or just the incidents of the night she could not be sure. A slight hint of annoyance crossed Melissa's face as her fun was interrupted, but she immediately removed her gaze from Ony's direction.

"Well, it seems that our gracious host has left us here alone. A bit rude, I must say, but I suppose it is his right. And after the recent events a calming down period may be needed." Kieran did not look at any particular member of the current gathering when he spoke, directing his attention mostly skyward. After a few moments he returned his attention back to earth. "I suppose I have been rude too in not introducing myself. My name is Kieran, and this is my protege, Raven. It is a pleasure to meet you."

Shin left the blood bath heading back to his place, as he entered he imediatly noticed something off as he smelled blood, recognising who's it was he moved quickly down a corridor, walking into a large room where their where 2 bodies on the ground and Tory(his butler) was leaning against a wall heavily wounded.

"sir they invaded without warning, i managed to hold these 2 off but there are still a few more i do beleive" Alex stated as he set a small knife he had defended himself with down.

"i'll make sure to clear them out, you patch yourself up and meet me at the front of the dark district in 45 minutes sharp, make sure to bring your weapons, and also tell the 2 girls to be ready incase we call and until then for them to defend here" Shin said as he left to hunt down the remaining artifials, which wasn't hard considering the mansions gas release system.

45 minutes later Shin and Alex entered the Dark District, walking in just as Kieran was introducing himself and his Sire. Shin responded walking up from the side "Nice to meet you, its surprising with how long we've lived and how we have never met, i am Shin Takayanagi, leader of the Takayanagi clan and this is my Clans Butler Alex"

Sabien barley listened to the other's introducing themselves. He was starving, and couldn't find another meal after that girl cost him his meal. He sat there stomach growling and energy dropping, watching her drain the bag of blood she kept. Finally he couldn't handle it.

"You know you could at least offer me a bite after costing me a meal!" Sabien exclaimed fighting the urge to grab one out of her bag.

"This is the only thing I eat, I don't take lives just to sustain mine...but I'll give you one if you say please." She replied with a grin.

"Cute, really cute," he started, but a hunger pain stopped him short, "fine fine, may I please have a bite to eat." He grimmaced when he said that. He would never normally take himself down to that level, but after not eating for so long he couldn't help it. She reached into her bag and got out another bag of blood.

Sabien looked at the....unethical meal laying in front of him. He'd been blessed with his gift to avoid doing things like this. But he'd done worse for food, and he had been starving himself in order to save room for the blood bath. He closed his eyes and prepared for the worst as he sank his teeth into the bag.

At first he grimmaced at the taste of plastic and anti-coagulant. Not the anti-coagulant that vampires produce naturally, but rather an artificial version. Then as he picked out the blood taste, he couldn't help fight back a smile.

"This isn't half bad, Ony right?" He remembered her name from the introductions, but he needed to sound condosending. It wasn't often he accepted help, and he wasn't about to let anyone think otherwise.

As he finished his surprisingly satisfying meal, he discared the bag on the ground and waited for Alucin to show up.

Ony frowned as he talked down to her.
"I may not take lives but I do not like cheap blood. I get this from actual blood banks, mostly from hospitals. Its regular human blood without making such a mess. My other thing with killing is how many times do you think we can mutilate a human and get away with it? We'll be found out sooner or later. But just ripping off blood banks? Not so much, I mean we don't have finger prints and its not like they can find us. Its safer in my own opinion."
Sabien looked down at her and gave her a cocky smile.
"Some of us like the hunt little girl."
She growled dangerously.
"I might be little but I'm not sweet."
She turned her back on him and walked to the side of the alley and sat on a wooden box and waited for Alucin like the others. She put her hands on her knees and sighed.
"I have a feeling this Alucin guy is gonna be late."
The others nodded in agreement.

Valence's hands clenched odown even hareder on the throat of the artifical vampire he had run into. It hand't been as strong as most of them and had been easy to take over. He watched as the life left its eyes then stood up brushing his hair away then looked around. He hated this hiding in alleys, but he couldn't let any other pure breeds see him just for the sheer fact he was still exiled.

The only reason he was in the city was those dman fakes had overran his little home in the caves. He crept along silently through the district only pausing long enough to feed on a homeless person. He was halfway finsihed wiping off the blood as he rounded the corner and stopped as soon as he was two more pure breeds feeding on blood from a blood blank. The man he didn't know but the female he did. Suddenly as if some strock of disfortune she turned her haid her eyes getting big when she saw him. "Valance?"

Valance played dumb. "No not Valance, I am 'running'"

Ony titled her head. "Running?" Valence nodded. "Yep" He went to brake out into a run when she shouted. "Valence you stay fucking put" Valence stopped as he pondered. Escape or get pummeled. "Turn around now" Valence let his shoulders drop as he turned to see Ony standing before him with a look of sheer hate in her face. "You were not supposed to show your face here again..."

Valence shrugged. "Well i tried not to but you made me turn around..." He doubled over as he caught a knee to the groin. "What the fuck was that for?" Ony smacked him on the back of the head. "You missed my birthday too" Valence's head spun. "Calm down damn, kind of hard to visit you when I am exiled for the rest of my...." He caught a knee to his head as Ony replied dryly.

"Never stopped you from coming here and doing other things and pinding people to brainwash to add to your litttle collection" Valence began to slowly stand up. "What else am I supposed to do I got kicked out and I couldn't come back for good and you wouldn't come out there to see..." His shin split in pain from her kick. "you never asked me too" He looked at her face and wanted to wipe that smirk off. "Your a little shit Ony you know that"

She turned her back on him and took a deep breath than looked back.
"You and I grew up together, you think I don't know that? You made me like this. Sheesh. Besides weren't you the one always getting us in trouble in our territory?"
He looked up as if thinking and winced as she flicked his nose playfully.
"Don't answer that."
He smiled widely at her and looked past her at the others that were there than spotted the bad she had been drinking from.
"You still drinking that crap for blood?"
She smacked him on the back of the head again and crossed her arms.
"You know how I am Valence."
"Yeah I know, and I know it almost got you killed one night."
She blushed and smacked him again.
"Will you grow up!"
He laughed and ruffled her hair.
"Calm down Ony. You know I'm messing with you."
She nodded and shocked him by wrapping her arms around him tightly.
"I though something bad had happened to you. Next time keep in touch will you?"
He nodded as he blinked and stood there in shock.
"You feeling alright?"
He pushed her back and put a hand on her forehead as if feeling for her temperature. She swiped his hand away and smiled up at him fondly than looked at the others.
"This is Valence. A friend of mine."
She looked back up at him still smiling.

Alucin came in to view just behind Ony and 'running' A.K.A. Valence. "I apologize for my lateness" he began, as h wiped blood from around his mouth "I just stopped for a bit to drink." Ony shot him a mean glare. "No use denying what you are." Alucin answered the look "They are cattle, bred and grown to feed us." Ony took a breath and was about to clearly state a rebuttal but Alucin continued abruptly, cutting her off before she began.

"The artificial vampires have become too bold, even trying to attack pure bloods directly. Some have decided to 'teach them a lesson' and 'put them in their place' These smart alecs usually end up food for entire mobs of artificial vampires. I do not mean to 'show them their place' for I believe they have no place." Alucin paused as he looked over the group with a well trained eye, appraising each of them and gauging their strengths and weaknesses as best he could with what he knew about them. "We need to finish this, ending it once and for all. That means killing every artificial vampire, then finding and destroying the one who's creating them." he concluded.

Everyone looked at each other for a moment then back at Alucin. "And how exactly do we accomplish that?" Sabien spoke first. Alucin cracked a sinister looking grin.
"That's an interesting point. I have gathered that a blood bank on the far end of town is actually operated by artificials." Ony looked up curiously "Don't panic, this is a much less used bank than the one you use. The plan is to break in, kill everyone but the top dog, and get him to teach us about other 'artificial operations'. The problem being: this blood bank has about twice as much security as a top notch cash bank; camera's, laser security, on site guards, and all alarms alert an elite protection unit of about 20 artificials ranging in abilities. This is obviously a high level operation for their society probably raking in about 40% or more of their current blood supply. It'll take all of us working together to get in and out without alerting the elite. If we do trip an alarm, it might b better to fall back and regroup as opposed to fighting head on. This bank has been attacked by pure bloods many times. I gather most of the information about their security from an old file a friend of mine dug up." Alucin briefed the group as best he could.

"Now we'd best be off, it' now 12:56" Alucin said dryly as he checked his watch "We have about 5 hours to get in, get what we want, and get out. The bank is located on the corner of west gore st, an huntingdon st, right where the dark district meets the subway web. It isn't hard to spot, and the shadows of the dark district cover the area well. Aside from some security lights and the lighted camera?s we will at least have concealment of night. As far as I know only curtain artificials can see as well as we can in pitch darkness and low light conditions, that will give s a slight advantage. Though I doubt the banks lighted inside will be stationed with night vision vamps, so be careful and expect to be seen if you see anyone looking your way. So, that's all, let's get this done." And with that Alucin gestured the group to follow him and began walking toward the blood bank.

Ony gave a small shiver as she smelt the blood on Alucian and followed none the less. She looked up at him as she walked next to him.
"So...wait, what exactly are we doing?"
"Hunting."
"I don't hunt..."
"Learn."
She stopped and blinked as the others passed her, Valence snickering at her, recovering quickly she caught up easily and looked up at him frowning.
"It goes against what I believe in."
He stopped and turned on her, his eyes blazing.
"What you believe in goes against what you are. You are a pure blood. Act like it."
She bit her lip as his words bit into her, she nodded and walked next to him in silence, she looked back at Valence who only shrugged and gave her a sympathetic look. Sighing she walked with the others in silence, she was different than them yet the same at the same time. She looked around and sighed again, hearing Alucian clear his throat she ducked her head down and stayed silent, pushing a long bang behind her slightly pointed ear she held in yet another sigh. It had been a long time since she had traveled anywhere out of the district she lived in and it felt like she was leaving a part of her self there. Looking up at Alucian she blinked as she studied him. He was handsome, and powerful by the look of it, older than her it would make since. She looked away blushing as he looked at her out of the corner of his eyes.
"You should study your enemy, not your comrades."
She nodded slowly and continued to look down.

Kieran watched the exchange between Alucian and Ony from the back of the group. Once the arguments seemed to subside he smiled and spoke quietly. "You really have a way with children don't you, Alucian?"

"She needs to learn. It's as simple as that." Alucian never stopped walking and never looked back as he spoke.

"There is nothing wrong with the child wanting her meals prepackaged. And before you argue consider that ours were being packed for us before the attack. Not much of a 'hunt', now is it?"

Alucian stopped now and stared daggers at Kieran. He looked ready to strike Kieran down right there, but Kieran ignored him and kept on walking. "Besides, if the cattle wish to milk themselves there is little reason to let it go to waste in a fridge."

"Why defend her self-denying beliefs when you yourself hunt your prey and have sired one whom you let toy with a meal? It's hypocritical." Venom dripped from Alucian's every word.

"Why, you ask?" Kieran stopped and stared at Alucian, arms crossed behind his back, and with eyes devoid of emotion. "Not all of us share the antiquated belief that a meal must be hunted down and slaughtered in a boorish manner. That's the kind of behavior I would expect of the humans." Kieran did not even blink as he spoke those words. A dangerous gambit. "As for the one I have sired, my reasons for turning her are my own."

Sensless Bickering Sabien thought to himself as he walked somewhere in the middle of the group. Since this thing started that's all they did, he couldn't deny Alucin's point. But then again, who was to say what was right or wrong.

"You know i just had a thought." Sabien said in a break between Alucin and Kieran's exchange. "We should all take over this blood bank, put some red arches on the sign, make a drive-thru window, and sell blood to Ony in a meal complete with a toy." Sabien couldn't help but smile after saying this.

Ony shot him a look, "Don't worry, after trying that stuff tonight. I'd join you anytime you'd ask"

Before anyone could say another word, Alucin stopped, motioning for everyone to do the same. "Shut-up. We're here..."

Alucin glanced over the building with an analytical eye, and motioned the others to stay still. "'I'll go in first, you wait for my signal before advancing." Alucin dashed forward toward the building seconds later. Weaving through the shadows to avoid being seen. As he approached the main waiting room however, he noticed something was definitely a miss. The blood bank was supposed to be closed this late at night, but there were several people sitting in the waiting room and a 'nurse' sitting idly by the counter. "What's going on here?" Alucin thought to himself as he casually approached the girl at the counter.

"I'm here to make an appointment." He state calmly.
"I know why you're here...pure blood." The girl at the desk answered with an icy glare.
"I don't know what you're talking about, I just want to donate some blood." Alucin defended.
"Stop the acting you beast! Die!" the girl answered angrily. All 6 of the people in the waiting room jumped to their feet and bared their fangs against Alucin.
"Well this is a disappointing surprise." Alucin spat out with a disgusted look. He wasn't wearing his gloves, but that would have to change real fast. In a flash another dozen Alucin's appeared from nowhere, all darting around in different directions, along side the original.
?Hurry find the creator!!? the woman yelled vanishing from site in a nigh invisible blur of speed. She cut through 4 of the copies with a small silver edged knife, each one fading as they were struck. Two of the other vampires were pyrokinetic , creating waves of flame that washed over another 6 of the copies. Only about 5 Alucin?s now raced around merely as a distraction, unbeknownst to the attackers. In only a few moments all of the high sped Alucin?s had been eliminated, leaving only one in the corner, standing almost perfectly still.

?Kill him!? shouted the desk woman. For this task one of the older looking men in the waiting room stepped forward. He had an ability even Alucin had never seen before. Holding up moderately sized and obviously sharp hunting knife, with a gleaming silver edge. The old man made one swing, still standing nearly 12 feet from Alucin. As the blade sliced through the air it left several after-images, instead of fading though, each of the roughly 7 images stayed perfectly solid and actually flew forward with the momentum of the old mans swing. Wide eyed, Alucin bore a startled look, before fading into the air. ?He was a duplicate too!?? the woman cried. The true Alucin stepped from the corner behind all the artificials. Gloves on hand, he charged forward, his crisscross path lead him between the fakes perfectly. His wires dancing almost invisibly behind him.

In a glimmer two of the fakes fell to the ground headless, in a sudden 180, Alucin doubled back, his wires following suit twisted through the air slitting one of the fire maker?s throats. Alucin re-evaluated his course as 8 hunting knives were thrown at his head. Barely dodging, he created another copy which darted the front door. Alucin redirected his attack to focus directly on the old man with mysterious multiplying abilities. His wires flashed through the air like a sharp wind. In reply the old man simply dodged them, moving around the wires with little effort, letting them whisper their metallic hiss as they made hair line slashes deep into the surrounding walls. Another ten knives flew at Alucin, he moved out of the way by inches, and began running around the room with dizzying speed. The old man missed with a couple dozen knives before the quickened desk girl took initiative, she tackled Alucin head on as he in front of a window.

Both fell to the ground in a harsh thud, and 14 knives collided where Alucin?s head would have been in the secretary hadn?t intervened, 7 of which flew straight through the window vaguely toward the team, the others piercing the wall slightly slowing the broken glass as it rained down on Alucin and the woman. Alucin flicked his wrist and wires slid across the woman?s back creating thin but deep gashes. She shrieked in pain and bent backward trying to comfort the wounds with her hands. Alucin took his chance and pushed her to the side. Moving out of the way as four knifes his where he had just laid.
?How dare you interfere?! Horrid wench!? The old man berated the woman with a steely voice, similar sounds would come from rusted iron filings being forced against a chalk board via sandpaper. The old man coughed for a moment after talking then made a swift three slashes toward the woman. Over thirty knives dug into her body a moment later, her death cry being shortened by one of which that had ripped through her neck. With a cruel look the old man then turned back to Alucin, who was recovering from the high speed collision.

Meanwhile, the illusionary Alucin that had escaped ran out of the building and toward the others. He arrived quickly and spoke the same. "Hurry, they were expecting us, need back-" the duplicate was cut off as it evaporated from site. A stray band of hunting knives had been launched out the window as Alucin fell down in front of it. Four of the knives met with the illusions back and another 3 stabbed the ground around him.

(Sorry been gone so long, internet on the fritz)

Ony blinked as the knives came crashing out the window, she looked around at the others and shifted into her wolf form and bounded towards the building, she crashed through one of the door and yelped as she leaped over one of Alucian's wires. Landing she growled as the old man stood infront of Alucian and looked over at her and than the others as they entered behind her.
"How interesting. Your not the only one here than? Well, let's finish this."
He charged at Alucian who was ready, she spotted a small dagger in his other hand and yelled out to him.
"Watch it! He's got a hidden blade!"
She jumped into the air and shifted into her bat form and hung from the ceiling as the old man sent the blade towards her.
