Sabrina
Just to be clear, I'm talking about the federal holiday observed in the United States on the first Monday of September. Now that I've done that, for those of you have this holiday, what do you do? Normally I spend time with my family and we have some form of barbecue, watch movies, play games or simply sit around and catch up with how everyone is doing. However, this year, I can't get home for the holiday so I'm probably going to just hang around the apartment I'm in and just take it easy since there is no school today. I thought about going out and doing stuff, but it's been overcast and raining here the past few days. I'll still cook some yummy food for today though. Anyway... your turn! :catgirl:
chibi-master
NOTHING AT ALL. I just sleep-in and wander aimlessly through the house. I treat it just like any other summer vacation day. (I go back to school Wednesday.) I guess I will take my puppy, Tucker, on an extra long walk today to celebrate. Other than that, I sleep and relax until I turn into a liquid. Rachmaninoff
Normally I spend the day with my family, but this year they decided to head up to my brothers and I didn't feel like going with them. I feel kind of lazy this labor day so I opted to stay home. Usually though it's the same deal that you described Sabrina. Getting together for a barbecue and either playing video games, watching movies or just relaxing. When I was younger we would go camping for the weekend, but we haven't done that in a long time. Claire
There was a show that I wanted to go to, but it got canceled because of Hurricane Gustav. Not that I would've gone by myself, and the only friend who would've happily accompanied me is immersed in schoolwork today. My best friend is out of town (hopefully returning today in time to hang out a little) and another friend has been grounded since the beginning of summer. So basically I am just sitting around the house wishing something exciting would happen. And also, my diaphragm hurts.

Shinmaru
I'll be heading to my cousin's house for a day of Rock Band. Woooooooooord. Also, there will be much razzing of my beard, I'm sure.
SaiyanPrincessX
Well in the past we would have family over and cook out or something, but for the last..three years? We've gone over to someone's house from church. She usually has the same people every year, and I see them all at church so I know them too. We eat and chat it up. She has it the day before Labor Day though, so that was yesterday. Good fun.

Some of my friends and I got the idea to have a picnic and had to cancel it since it decided to hail and storm most of the day. The type of storm that soaks you completely. Usually around here it rains briefly and ends, but not yesterday. We ended up with flash flood warnings and all that. o_O Oh well, guess we'll have to try for another day. Hehe.
We had the same issue down here as well. However, since we didn't have an outside barbecue planned, it was easy enough to move things inside. It was kind of hard to be disappointed since the drop in temperature was such a nice change from the hot weather. I think it's like some sort of tradition for the weather to be wacky on Labor Day around here. That's the one thing I don't miss about camping trips, sudden rain storms messing up the fun. Not that I mind rain, but when it comes down like it did on Monday, you can't do much without getting completely soaked.
