The strange, the given and the recieved. I'm just really bored now and I only have a four hour shift.

I am still curious about nicknames. Maybe because I haven't been here in a while. Or because I started calling my friend Lisa St. Lisa of the Virgin Senses back in May and it involves an awkward story- but not that awkward about how my boyfriend gets vocal diarreah and Lisa started yelling virgin ears virgin eyes and so I said, okay by the power invested in me by being Catholic you are now St. Lisa of the Virgin senses. But we don't use that nickname. Mostly we call her Lili or Fanisa.

Nicknames for myself- nothing fun. My most used are Meggy and Meg. There's not much of a story behind them except that my name is Megan and sometimes with Meg it's because some people *cough* Ward's *cough* have trouble with two syllable words. Is Mommy a nickname? Someone can decide that.

Other ones, well my friends and I call another girl who we don't really like Bloom. Because she's like the character from Winx Club- a total drama queen and has to have the spotlight constantly.

Oh and my sister-in-law is KayKay to my daughter and her neice and nephew. But we all call her Katie.

So anyone else? I'm off to work again.

My name is nicholas, but my friends call me cinnamon buns.

That's a lie... I wish they called me that, it's just so awesome!

My only nickname is nick. Which, when i was younger, thought it was funny since my nickname was nick... That's about it!

Sometimes i call my little brother, zack, Zack-attack or jack. Zack-attack because of this old xbox game called Fuzion Frenzy. There was a character named zack who would say that all the time. Jack because my mom is Korean and sometimes she calls him jack instead of zack simply because of her accent.

My friend, Stefan, is sometimes called stephanie. This too is because of my mom. I guess she's never really heard the name Stefan, but has heard the name stephanie. That one's a little funnier. I love my mom though, so in no way are these names meant to be mocking towards my mother. They're all in good fun. =D

My business associates in USANA call me "D" because my mother's name is Desiree and my other partner's name is Deanna, so I suppose people are just lazy or don't want to get confused.

My male friends that are "of color" persist in calling me a variety of slangish but not necessarily insulting names that I will respond to.

"Shorty [only it's pronounced shawty]"
"Heina [Hi-nah]"
"Homegirl"

My OB friends call me Rai and nobody who wants to live past their twenties calls me "Babe."

Other than that, anyone on the OB that feels my screen name is too long calls me chibi. That's about it.:animesmil
But if you're Chibi then what does that make me? :animecry:

Oh yeah. Everyone on here has at one point or another (back when I used to 'live' here) has shortened my user name to CHW.

I have a few nicknames however they really are not related to my real name being Kirstin at all. I don't even know how I got some of them.

Most of my friends off line like to call me Evil given that I have a morbid humor. If they don't call me Evil then they are calling me Kitty for my love of cats.

My Mom and Uncle call me Chicky and done that since I was a baby. My Nana and Papa both call me Sweetie. My Dad alternates between The Queen, Vampire, Killer, and Herman. I don't know how the Herman one came to be at all.:animesigh

On Otaku sites most people use to or still do just call me Cat and took of the 14 part. One of the reasons I had it changed from Cat14 to just Cat on Otakuboards. On others sites I get called Rikku being that she is my favorite FF character or Wednesday. Wednesday came about because of both the singer and the Addams Family Wednesday.

I've always wanted a nickname that sticks. Since I played a lot of sports growing up and being in the military using my last name has become a nickname of sorts. So I hear Tyo all the time. My class in technical training dubed ourselves class Top Gun so Maverick was my name for the bulk of that.

That stuck for awhile, but now I'm back to Tyo....which is weird because my fiancee calls me that from time to time.

Being hardcore anime nerds, my friends and I used to give each other anime-related nicknames. I was "Battosai," after Himura Kenshin's alter-ego in Rurouni Kenshin. I occasionally still hear that one, but it seems "Ace" is the one that will always stick with me. I've been assigned it at least 3 times by completely unrelated groups, plus one of my old favorite anime characters is named Ace, so that's how it works.

(And yes, it's a nickname. Ace is not my real name, for those who don't know but care. It's Eric. Go ahead and keep using Ace, though.)

The Name is Garett, high school dubbed me ferret. I also have G and pilot ( I go by Gelgoog pilot a ton in games and other forums, so many of my computer savvy friends use my handle).

My sister's nickname is KayKay!
My friend Ashley is nicknamed Smashley by some of her drinking friends, and I call her Ash-dawg.

My name is Darren and while I was growing up, I never really seemed to get nicknames like others did. Or the few that got tried out never stuck so I don't really remember any. Around here though people have taken to referring to me as Rach. Which is fine by me. Some of my friends who are members here even slip up and refer to me as that in real life from time to time. =P *pokes Crystia and Beth*

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Hmm, I've only been refered to as Chibi Horsewoman here and on Fanfiction (Okay like once a long time ago someone called me Meg). Of course in fairness CHW is much easier and still gets the point across. Okay wait... my ex husband called me Chibi but he calls me a lot of other things now that don't bear repeating on this messageboard.

I went through my Junior and Senior years of high school being called Nutmeg by a guy in my chemistry class. Luckily that stopped after graduation and had better not happen next year when I go back to my reunion.

My friend Lisa's boyfriend gave our friend Tina (which is already a nickname for Christina) the nickname Tinker from Tennessee when he was drunk. It does fit because now she is from Tennessee. But she's originally from Ottawa. We also call her Titi which is Vietnamese for short or little and it's kinda like Tina, but cuter. She calls me Mimi nee chan.

Then there's my friend Samantha- no one has ever lived after calling her that so everyone either calls her Sam, Sammi or Samma.

My boyfriend is boring- his name's Lee so there's not much that you can do with that name, so my brother just calls him the Canadian eh. My daughter calls him Leaf.

:animeswea Thanks for listening

I thought I'd posted here. o,O

Anyway, I have a few nicknames. In my martial arts classes I get various names like machine, cyborg, android, Beckatron(my real name is Becky). Beckatron is the one thtas been sticking lately, lol. It because I'm there everyday, for two to three classes a night, and I can go on and on. I didn't go to class yesterday and everyone thought I died, lol.

At work I get karate girl, my last name, Bec, ninja, other random things. I used to be called turtel by the manager because I was slow at scanning. I hated that name.

My brother used to call me Sparky all the time when we were younger, and I have no idea how that came about.

I don't really have any real nicknames. People online usually call me Gabe or Gabriel now. Outside, though, people generally refer to me as 'freak' for the dark clothes I wear and my short-temper.

I used to be referred to as Outkast or The Jakob(for my previous usernames). My brother still calls me The Jakob, actually. On here I used to be TheRebel_Nikolas, but that doesn't matter anymore.

Friends nicknames, we all call my friend Brad Furby. Someone in our group misheard his name when he introduced himself and thought he said "Furby'. I call him Cooper for no special reason. On occasion I call him B-Rad.

My name is Phil, so a couple of guys I used to know went down the obvious route and gave me the nickname "Kevin."

Oh hang on, that's not the obvious route. I'm not really sure why they called me Kevin - apparently I had the look of a Kevin about me when they first met me. I'm not sure whether to draw comparisons with the Harry Enfield comic creation or not - it carries bad connotations.

Anyway, that's about the only nickname I have ever had - my friend Megan has a lot more than me. Megsie, Megamoo, Megatron, Megnu, Smeg, Megaboom and anything else you could possibly think of that contains the word "Meg."

We call my friend James by part of his surname - his full name is James Brinicombe, but we all call him Brini. His best friend is called Peter but everyone knows him as Ped - the sequence of thoughts there is fairly logical: we went from Peter to Pedro to Ped. So it makes a kind of sense.

At work I'm generally known as "Oi, you!" or "You cheeky bastard!"

Space Goat. Or just Goat, more often Goat in fact. There are dozens and dozens of people who don't even know my real name in real life - it sounds farfetched, but everyone calls me Goat nowadays. I prefer it to my real name because I get this kind of reaction:

"So what's your name?"
"Goat."
"...what?"
"Goat."
"Goat?"
"Yeah. Goat."
"LOL."

And people remember my 'nickname' more often than my real name. It fits a lot better with just... me. Vicky is odd and boring. The only reason I haven't changed on here is because people would probably forget who I was - that, and, I'm lazy.

The nickname came across when I was a wee one. I don't even know what it means, it was all very random. Someone just said to me that I was a Space Goat, and he was going to call me that from now on. I said it was weird and it was never going to catch on. Lo and behold it's more used than my real name... which is partly my fault. I introduced myself to someone (because I was scared of 'em) by Space Goat one time and he found me the next week (where I happen to spend my weekends nowadays too) and shouted me - then everyone I hung out with outside school called me that. It picked up in school after awhile too. And after that, everywhere else, and I began to like it. 'Oi Goat' just has a ring to it.

There you have it.

I was thinking about this the other day, and I thought that if I could choose my nickname, I'd like to take a leaf out of LL Cool J's book. LL Cool J is apparently his nickname from school, and it means "Ladies Love Cool James."

I think my version of that would be LL Nice PBGPHAAF. It stands for Ladies Like Nice Phil But Generally Prefer Him As A Friend.

Booya.

I already had you down in my mind as Vicky. So every time that pops up, I still think... what the heck? =P
