silpheedpilot
I figured instead of making a thread for each and every game that is upcoming I'd lump them all into one thread seeing as how, obviously, they all come out in October. Anyway, so, October is going to be a busy month for us gamers. Fracture - October 8th. When I first heard of this game I was like; 'Huh? Using guns to deform the terrain to your advantage? Okay.' Then I kept seeing more and more videos and news stories on it and I became quickly excited for it. Basically, that's the gist of it; you use high powered weapons in a futuristic setting to deform the terrain around you for a tactical advantage or whatever else you can think of it. Dead Space - October 15th. If you haven't been keeping tabs on this game then you're sorely out of luck because you're gonna miss out on an amazing multi-media extravaganza. The game is looking to be a very promising, and very spooky third person over-the-shoulder shooter with enough to separate it from the pack. Can't wait. I love being scared. SOCOM: Confrontation - October 15th. Basically if you have a PS3 and you're done with The Call of Dookie 4 then this will be the game for you. Completely focused on multiplayer and sporting a new over-the-shoulder viewpoint, this team-based third person shooter should appeal to anyone with either a military itch or a multiplayer itch. Far Cry 2 - October 22st. Now October this year may be the year for some people because Fable 2 is coming out and others may be salivating over Fallout 3 (I am) but for me this open-ended, sand-box first person shooting is my game of the year. When I played the first Far Cry on the PC back a few years I fell in love. I fell in love with the setting, the story, the guns, the game engine. Everything. This time, while not being developed by Crytek, I'm still having high hopes for the game because of the wide open African savanna they drop you into and the way they give you multiple ways to complete your objectives. If you like first person shooters then you most definitely NEED to play Far Cry 2 when it hits. Fable 2 - October 21st. To my understanding Fable 2 is supposed to be everything Fable 1 set out to be, which is awesome in my eyes. I really liked the original Fable even if it was a bit linear and constrictive. This time around, though, Peter Molyneux has promised and sworn up and down that its Fable the way we wanted it to begin with. I'm excited. Fallout 3 -October 28th. Next to Lametar Hero: World Tour's wide-spread acceptance this will be October's killer app. Headed up by Bethesda, which you know of The Elder Scrolls fame, Fallout 3 is looking to be headed in the right directions. As an avid fan of the previous 2 games and, yes, even the spin-offs I'm glad.
PWNED
Unfortunatly, I'm not feeling excited about Dead Space. Apparently it has been banned in Japan (unlikely since it is the home of Survival Horror games), China (I don't even think EA releases games there) and Germany (cannot be banned prior to launch). As such, EA have gone out of there way to court controversy and make it out like Dead Space is so big and bad that it makes Resident Evil pale in comparsion. Not to mention the fact that I'm boycotting EA until they do something about the DRM stuff.
silpheedpilot
Whoa, buddy. Don't deny yourself such a grand experience on account of EA. I'm telling ya; EA is about to drop the biggest and best Resident Evil killer since Darth Vader killed the Emperor. Seriously. Don't sleep on this one.

silpheedpilot
Man, that's absolutely ridiculous. You'll come around. They always do. Now, yes, Fallout 3 is a different story entirely. I can't wait for it to drop because I loved the original games to death and played them each many, many times. Even though Bethesda took over the reins I think it's gonna deliver a true, albeit, next-gen experience and I'm ready to be floored.
Drizzt Do'urden
The only thing I know about Dead Space is what Game Informer put out last month. It seems to be a pretty decent game, the last horror genre game that I bought based on their preview was Condemed(sp) not the second one but the first. They say this game has more scare value than that so I'm pretty juiced. I've never really gotten into the Fallout series. I've been more into the first person shooters on XBOX live (which it's time for my fiancee to go back to school so I'll be hitting heavily in a week or so). All in all, I'll probably pick up Dead Space myself and that'll be it, I'm really holding out for November. (Won't ruin your next thread by talking about why)
