Formed in 1999 in Atlanta, Georgia by Brann Dailor, Bill Kelliher, Troy Sanders, and Brent Hinds. They have released three full-length albums, finding acclaim and mainstream success with the latest two, and have toured worldwide.
These guys are ****ing amazing. If you like any form of metal you'll love this band. I got into them about a year ago when my friend bought their new concept album "Blood Mountain." They sound a lot like a metal Queens of the Stoneage (which is funny because Josh Homme of QotS contributes vocals for one of the songs). If you've never heard any of their stuff before then here is a good starting song. Half the fun of reading the lyrics is trying to see how it all ties together. That and all the songs are incredible.
Metalcore501
This band is very good, I love their guitar riffs, and drum beats. They've certainly made a good name for themselves in the metal world.
Amorak
Yeah they're amazing. Every song on there rocks my socks. They also have another album called Leviathan about Mobey Dick. So yes whales do = metal.
