John exploded from the room of ice he created, only to find out he wished he would have stayed. It seemed Luthian had transformed himself into a giant dragon, and Eon the same. Their piercing eyes screamed death to both heros. John realized at that moment he was unafraid. There, in what very soon could be his and Victoria's grave he wasn't scared. John took his eyes off the dragons, showing them the same thing and stood beside Victoria.

The two heros stood valiantly back to back, and that's when John heard the one thing he needed to hear above all else. "Victoria, let's do this. For Tetra, and the rest of the world." Suddenly victoria spoke, but it wasn't her voice that came out. It was Tetra's! "Oh shut up John, do this for you and Victoria." John risked attacked and turned to see Victoria, a sliglt glow emitted off her. "She's with us John." It was Victoria's voice again.

John looked back, just in time to see the dragons begin slowly circling the two. John and Victoria, weapons drawn stood back to back, circling in the same way. Never taking their eyes off their enemies. As if one person, both heros sprang at the same time. John ran full-bore towards Luthian, the behemoth rear'd his head back. As it thrust forward, it opened its mouth and a lethal jet of flame shot out of its mouth. John planted his halberd into the ground, pole vaulting himself over the flame and towards its head, praying his history lesson on dragons was right. You see in his mythology class, dragons were supposedly able to breath fire by a methane gas buildup. Therefore they couldn't stop breathing fire until the gas they sotred was used up.

Bingo, John was right. Luthian's eyes were huge as John's foot contacted the head. The creature's head snaped back violently, a small victory but you had to start somewhere. John landed on his feet standing strong, suddenly Luthians head snapped forward at a speed that seemed unreal for the giant. John managed to dodge to the side, again it came, and again never seeming to tire.

The next time it came, John anticiapted spun, and brought the axe end of his halberd straight onto Luthian's neck. Only to have it bounce off, damn those scales were tough. With a roar, Luthian blasted forward another jet of flame. Unable to evade John blasted a stream of ice, deadlocking the two. As the flames began to lighten up, John took a look at Luthian. The top may have been covered in scales, but what about the underside? John smiled when he thought back to mythology class, hopefully they'd be right again.

Victoria looked up at the beast again.
"Great, now two of them. We're screwed....................."
"Shut up and fight!" Tetra's voice rang inside her head.
Victoria finally felt her body being thrust toward the beast.
The beast chuckled again.
"Hehehe. Having issues, eh?"
Victoria frowned.
"Come on Victoria, you can do this!"
She was about to form another orb when she saw the chain on one of it's claws. It shined in the sunlight.
"Yes! If I could only get to my chain, I can beat her!" she thought.
She stood still, still forming the orb, and looking from the beast to the chain and then back again. How was she going to get it without the beast noticing? She noticed a spot on the beast's forehead that was a little lighter than the others. If she hadn't been looking for it, she probably wouldn't have noticed at all. She thought carefully. Was this going to be worth it? Was the five percent chance of her shot making an impact really worth it?
She felt a whoosh of air behind her and glanced behind her. She saw John standing behind a wall of quickly melting glass and that grin on his face.
"What is he thinking.........................."
Victoria saw the beast rear it's head as if it were going to shoot forth another jet of flames.
Now was the time to decide. If she didn't decide now, she would be toast.
"Here goes!"
Victoria launched the orb at the middle of the beast's forehead. She stood for a minute, to see what the impact of it would be worth the shot, and as soon as she heard it screech in pain, she dashed for the chain. She ran and ran, feeling as if nothing could stop her now. Ignoring the burning in her legs she ran and then slid like she did when she played softball. She grabbed the chain as she slid and got up.
"Hehehe. Looks like that stupid softball practice came in handy!"
The beast looked towards her and breathed in a deep breath. It was about to spew forth a stream of fire. She dodged just in time and looked at the beast. It wasn't spewing forth fire...................but blood.
"Wow." Victoria said as she put two and two together.
"The blood of the people she killed in human form is inside her. She can spew it forth just like fire!"
Victoria heard an explosion.
"Yes. Yes, now I get it. When in human form, Eon's blood exploded. So who's to say this would be so different? The only problem is that she can spew blood over a greater amount of space. And when that space blows up, that leaves me and John with less and less fighting space!"
Struck with knowledge, Victoria grinned insanely and swung around her chain. She and John had to win this battle fast.

An explosion rocked john, knocking him off his feet. "John she still can use her power over her blood in this new form, careful" Glancing to his right, John saw a small trickle of blood left over from that massive explosion. This was bad, her powers were lethal enough as a human, but with the amount of blood that thing possessed..."oh boy".

John focused on Luthian once more, in order for him to help Victoria he would have to stop Luthian quickly. Somehow he had to get the beast up on two legs, but how? It was way to big to force up...but maybe...yes that was it. John had realized when he sucessfully defended himself against the flames that his powers had grown far beyond his wildest dreams...and prehaps beyond Luthians understanding as well.

It was going to be a one shot maneuver, only one chance to get this right. "What's wrong big guy? Realizing your flames can't even come close to beating my ice?" John did his best to taunt the beast, make him fire again.

Bingo, Luthian's head shot back. Preparing another burst of that red hot death, as his head snapped forward. John quickly conjured another ice shield around himself. This time, he made sure to make it extra thick so some ice would survive. As the flames lept all around him, John couldn' thelp but stare i awe as the flames created a rainbow of colors as it prism'd through the ice.

As the flames subsided John sprung, blasting forward with all his might he shattered his ice shield into countless small ice daggers, each one a death waiting to happen. That is of course you aren't a 20 ton dragon with armor that would make the united states military crap in their pants. As the shards pummled Luthian, John ran forward. Praying that the attack would have the desired and he wouldn't be eaten before he made it.

As everything had been going for once, the attacked worked the way he planned. Luthian was driven up on his back legs, revealing his soft underside, well almost soft. John took the spear end of his halberd and thurst it as deep as he could in the beasts neck, unfortunetly that's all he could do. He was met with a swiping paw that sent him into the back of Victoria's legs droping them both to the ground.

"damn it clumsy don't you think I have enough to worry about?" John couldn't help it, he laughed. Even through all this, Victoria was still Victoria. Still hated him, still had the smart butt in her. His smile faded as he looked up, standing over him was Luthian. A growl from behind told that Eon was standing over Victoria. "John.." Victoria's voice trailed off into nothing more than a wimper.

That's when John noticed the wave coming from Luthians neck. It wasn't much, but it was obvious what it was. Just like when the igniter doesn't light the gas on your stove, and it slowly leaks out. The methane was pouring out of Luthian's neck; and he had no idea. "Common beasties, your flames can't touch either one of us." John tried provoking them as he had before. "I would much rather eat them fresh!" Eon was directing at luthian, "No! I want that little wretch burned to a crisp, how dare he mock the very fires that bore me life!"

Both dragon's heads reeled back in unison as they had probably done countless number of times to countless numbers of victims. "John, what do we do?" Victoria's voice was almost inaudible now. "We don't do anything, I took care of Luthian. And what I'm about to do is going to take the rest of my power, its up to you now V." As the beasts heads shot forward John made one last Ice shield around the heros.

The ice walls on Luthians side were shattered when the explosion rocked them. John was thankfull that the ones on eon's side were holding nicely. He wasn't so thankful though for the horn that appeared flying towards him. It was what remained of Luthian's head....John could have divereted some ice to its side. Probably saved himself, but it doing so would have risked Victoria, and he wasn't willing to lose another friend. The horn dug itself deeply into Johns abdomen, he prayed he would pass out from the pain quickly, but his luck today had run out.

All he could do was lay in agony, bleeding, praying he would make it out alive. But doubting he would, he fought the urge to scream, for to do so would distract Victoria from her fight. "common V, you can do this..."

Victoria shakely got up and looked at John. He had a horn in his stomach. Victoria was shocked.
"JOHN, YOU IDIOT!!! WHY THE HECK DID YOU SAVE ME?! I CAN TAKE CARE OF MYSELF!!!! NOW LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE!!!"
Despite her angry expression, deep down, Victoria felt as if the whole world had fallen down around her. It was bad enough loosing one friend. She couldn't lose another.
She looked up when she heard Eon roar.
"Let's finish this, foolish child. Your friend here isn't getting back up. It's better for you to join the grave as well."
Victoria looked at Eon then at the once alive Luthian, and then back at John. She looked into his eyes. They were dimming quickly.
"V.....................you can't win if you're right here. Y-you have to go f-fight."
John said.
Victoria hesitated. Knowing that she had no choice but to fight. But again, she didn't want to leave a friend in need. No matter how much she hated John, she still cared. That was how it was with anyone she met, really. Heck, she would've helped Cathrine if she hadn't been such a butthead.
Victoria got up and picked up her chain.
"That's it, child. Come on." Eon said as she pranced around.
Victoria put as much energy as she could to throw her chain. As soon as it left her hand, she started forming an orb as a follow up attack.
She looked up, a smirk on her face.
The attack hit, well, at least it looked as if it did. There was a small scratch on one of the beast's scales.
"Yes!"
Victoria threw the orb at the scratch. It hit again. However, it didn't look as if it impacted as much as Victoria thought it would.
She stood, clueless for a moment, wondering if she should move. A burst of joy went through her as the creature made a screech.
"I've won!"
Victoria said. But her smiled dissapeared when she heard the shriek go into a high pitched cackle.
"Hehhehehe. Foolish child. You think that an attack that weak is going to be enough to even scratch me?"
"B-but.........................."
Victoria was speachless. How? She saw the scratch herself. The attack hit.
"Now it's my turn." The beast said with another cakcle.
It reeled its head back and spewed forth more blood.
Victoria dodged just in time, with inhuman speed. She couldn't believe it.
"How'd I move that fast?"
Victoria was once again surprised. This wasn't the best time to wonder over this, but she had been the slowest runner in her whole school and now this?
She looked behind her at the pool of blood. It blew up.
"Phew."
Victoria had spoken too soon. She noticed the microscopic drop of blood on her hand. The blood exploded.
"AGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Victoria screamed in pain, holding her hand.
" YOU WRETCHED HAG!!!!!!!" Victoria yelled as she ran in circles, trying the best she could to calm down. But she couldn't, no matter how hard she tried.
Finally, she stopped and looked at her hand. It was blackened with a third degree burn.
"AGH!" Victoria screamed once more. It hurt enough without her looking at it, but seeing the extreme amount of damage to it only made it hurt more. Her finger twitched, only moved a fourth of a centimeter. Victoria felt a sharp pain shoot up through her arm and through her shoulder.
Great. How was she going to beat Eon with one hand? It was hard enough attempting to beat her with two, but now one hand?
Refusing to accept deafet, Victoria tried to form another orb. It was impossible. The energy emmited from the orb hurt so badly that she stopped in the middle of it and just fell down to her knees.
"What am I going to do..........................?"
Victoria said sd dhr looked around.
She scanned her mind of any past experiences that had something to do with burns. She remembered that time she volunteered at the hospital. She had witnessed a patient being rushed into the room where she was working. His arm was a chaffed black. What did those nurses do? She winced in pain as she jumped up, once again filled with knowledge. She had to find something to wrap it in.
She looked aorund and saw her jacket. Half of it was in ashes because of the various explosions. However, there was still a big enough piece left to make a bandage.
Victoria crawled to her jacket and then glance behind her. Eon was coming and fast.
"I have to hurry up!"
Moving as quickly as she could and ignoring the pain in her arm, Victoria did the best she could to wrap up her hand. She moved just in time because Eon's claw was going to crush her. She quickly grabbed her chain. Her hand's pain had subsided a little, still she wasn't going to long if she didn't get some help. She looked at John one last time.
"John...............wake up. I can't last long without your help."

"Aww...it looks like love won't win this time little one." Eon chuckled and transformed back into her human form. She smiled and unsheathed her riddick claws. "Let's get this over with." Glancing to Luthian, her eyes turned crimson as blood rolled down her cheeks. "No more magic. Just a one on one fight to the death."

Raising her claws, she rushed Victoria on foot.

It was dark......and then it wasn't. Just that quickly the room brightened with the light of day. John awoke to his mother standing over top of him, "John, John we have to hurry. The fires are coming and we only have a few minutes to escape."

John didn't know how he knew what "the fires" were, but he did. He jumped up, got dressed and ran out the front door with his family. "Oh no, we're too late. I'm so sorry honey, so sorry you were too weak to stop this."

John looked to the sky and saw the "fires". They were exactally what you would think they were. Flames, or rather balls of flame, fell from the sky exploding on impact destroying whole blocks and reducing the buildings to nothing more than foundations.

"Mom what caused?" The house next door was hit directly with one of those balls of fire. John was thrown into the air as the ground exploded under him, as he flew into the air his mother flew up to his face. "You could've saved us....I'm sorry...you were weak." John looked on in horror as his mother's face melted there in front of him, leaving nothing but a skeleton with a sick smile on its face.

John continued his acension until he was in space looking at the earth. Perched on the tip top of it was a dragon. It was as big as the pole in which it sat upon, its tail wraping its way around the earth twice. Its roar was defining, it brought its head straight up, mouth open, and unleashed a fireball as big as the moon. The fireball orbited the earth a few times before exploding into hundreds of smaller ballls that were the ones falling to earth, the ones that killed his mother.

John opened his mouth in a soundless scream, he tried to figure out how he could've prevented this? What he could've done, and then it hit him. The battle, Victoria was still there and he could help somehow, but how?

John opened his eyes, and saw Eon, back in human form, charging Victoria. Nasty claw things attached to her hands, "Oh god, Victoria can't win this." This was proven when Eon dropped her shoulder and slammed into Victoria sending her sailing.

Not knowing anything else he could do, John shut his eyes and concentrated. "If her powers alone aren't enough, maybe I can give her some of mine." John thought to everything he, Victoria, and Tetra had gone through in the past few days. How he had hated Victoria so, but yet Tetra had tried so hard to get them together; and how now he didn't hate her at all, he....he loved her. John pointed his palm towards Victoria, "Please, oh please let this work."

He felt his energy move up from his feet to his hand, gathering itself along the way. A small ball formed in his palm, "I hope this works" he threw it her way, passing out simultaneously....."I hope this works.....

Victoria was running for her life. She didn't think it was possible, but it had happened. Eon turned back into a human again. This made it seem even harder to beat her. Who knew when she would transform back again. She was nearing the edge of the floor they were fighting on when she felt an extreme amount of energy bolt through her body. Astonished, she fell. Her body felt as if it were on fire.
"What the............"
"Heheh. Looks like this is the end, child."
Eon stood over her, her riddick claws raised above her head. "I have admit, this was fun."
No matter how hard Victoria tried, she couldn't stand up. That sudden bolt of energy wasn't anything a human could recover from in a small amount of time.
With a chuckle, Eon lifted her riddick claws above her head and let them fall.
Victoria closed her eyes, unable to see her own death.
"I............I guess this is the end."
All of a sudden, her eyes opened. Victoria was filled with a new burst of energy, She rolled over just in time to miss Eon's fatal blow. She picked up her chain and with a laugh, prepared to form another orb.
"WHAT?!" Eon was surprised. She obviously didn't expect this.
Victoria now had an orb in her hands. She launched it at Eon and immediately started forming another until an explosion rocked her.
She looked up, thinking that Eon had spewed more blood, but was surprised to realize that it was not the blood that had shook her so, it was her orb.
"Yes............must've been that super charge of energy."
She paused a little, to see the impact that it made on Eon.
"Wow. It actually hit and made an effect?"
Eon was kneeling on the ground, out of breath.
Victoria smirked as she saw Eon struggle to get up.
"I guess this is the end." Victoria said.
Eon finally stood up and with a laugh, ran at Victoria once more. Victoria launched the orb at Eon, but with inhuman speed, Eon dodged them and launched her riddick claws at her shoulder.
"GAH!" Victoria yelled as the cold steel of the claws ripped open her skin. Usually, Victoria would've been on the ground right now. But now, the pain subsided quicker and she was back to full power in less than a minute.
She prepared another orb as she looked up at Eon who was running at her again. She was too close to Victoria, so she had to make a quick decision. If Victoria missed, she would die a quick death, but if she made contact, Eon would be defeated for sure. She thought about her friends.
"This is for you guys."
Victoria launched the orb and shut her eyes. She heard the explosion, and afraid what she would see, she opened her eyes slowly.
"I-it hit!" she whispered to herself. She saw Eon kneeling on the ground, constantly hacking up blood.
"I won.............."
Victoria was so excited, she couldn't believe herself. She looked back at John who lay unconscious on the ground. His skin was pale.
"That makes sense............he-he gave his power to me."
She started walking towards him, to wake him up and tell him about her victory. She didn't hate him anymore. She didn't think she hated him at all. Was it possible that she had loved him but was only lying to herself?
She was about to kneel down when she heard a small explosion that was followed by a series of others. The explosions were starting to get louder and were taking more affect. She looked back at Eon who was still coughing. She had been defeated but she was planning to take Victoria and John with her.
"John, wake up! We have to go!!!!"
John woke up, his eyes alert. It seemed to Victoria that he knew how bad the situation was going to get if they didn't leave. However, he was still weak. Victoria grabbed his hand and started running, running for their lives.

Eon gaged and started to reach for the blue dragon on her shoulder, but stopped when she saw them running away together. A tear escaped her eye as she watched them. *How strange. They look just like...us. The day we were shunned by the gods for our love.* Crawling over to Luthian, she hugged him tightly and cried into his chest. "I love you..." Intertwining her fingers with his, she smiled and faded into the darkness.

Victoria gasped for breath as she dragged John through the woods. Looking back, she noticed Eon wasn't following them, actually it was very quiet. Resting John against a tree, she sat next to him and caught her breath, "Hey John, you ok? John?" His pale skin was freezing cold as she touched his cheek. "No...John...Wake up...please!" The tears flowed from her eyes as she hugged him, praying it was all dream. Suddenly, a bright light appeared before them and turned into Eon and Luthian. Victoria's eyes widened and an orb vapored in her hand.

"Wait, there is no need to try and fight. That orb wouldn't effect our souls anyway." Smiling, she lowered herself next to john and poked his chest. A spiral-like dragon appeared over his heart and his body twitched, then started to turn pink. " These are my gifts to you."

"For what?"

" Saving us. We were cursed many centuries ago for our forbidden love. Now we are finally free." They both smiled at eachother and kissed. Then vanished.

Looking at John, Victoria smiled and pressed her lips against his.

"Ha! I knew it!" Tetra popped out from a bush and laughed. "I knew you two would get together. Where the hell are we anyway? The last thing I remember is walking home form school, then nothing."

John breathed deeply and opened his eyes. "Wha...what happened? Did you beat her?"

As Victoria pulled away blushing John followed suit. "You know V, I knew you'd end up falling for me." It was funny...they had come so far. Been forced to witness the death of enemies and friends, but yet they were right back where they started.

Tetra relentlessly set on John and Victoria getting together, Victoria and John's love hate relationship budding. Suddenly John had a thought, "Hey Victoria, you know more about Capia and Ryo then me." Victoria gave him a playfull punch in the arm and added, "Correction, I know more about everything than you"

John sat silently as Victoria and Tetra shared a laugh. "What I mean is did they ever get together before they died?" Victoria shuged and looked at John in a way he'd never seen. "I don't know John, they never really made it long enough. I guess we'll have to see how their story ends." John knew right then what the future had in store for them, even if Victoria would never admit it.

"Umm, guys!?" Tetra interupted, and John was a little thankful. "How exactally do we get home?"

The group walked into the portal and into the local park. Victoria cringed as she thought about how her parents would react when they found out that she had been gone so long. John saw the look on her face.
"Hehehe. Looks as if you're screwed, V."
Victoria laughed. Despite all that had happened, he still managed to make her laugh. Victoria was happy, beyond happy. It was over. She thought Tetra was gone, but she had come back. And all that had happened between her and John. It seemed almost unreal, like a dream that was slowly fading away. Although it faded, Victoria knew that she and the rest of her friends wouldn't forget it for as long as they lived.

She looked at the sun rising slowly over the horizon. The group headed for the park bench. The same thought went through all of their heads. Who would've thought that these three teenagers would be inolved in a battle that would determine the fate of the world? And even more, how would the people who tried before them feel? The sunrise seemed to answer their question. For some reason, the sunrise was more beautiful than it ever was. The birds sang as if they understood exactly how the group felt. She felt a poke on her arm. It was Tetra.
"Hey Victoria, you okay?"
"Heck yeah I am, now that you're here!"
John chuckled.
Victoria stood up.
"Guys. Let's go home."
