[color=#9933ff]The reason for this thread is because I have to postphone my hair appointment for a few weeks. And I'm bummed because I really need to colour it again. Oh well. So I've decided to make a new hair thread because I don't see one on here and I don't clearly remember there being one recently so I'll do it: Here's the basics:

Colour:

If so what colours?

Length/ Style.

Eh and I guess preference for hair of the opposite/ smae sex? What hair style do you find attractive I guess is what I'm getting at.

As for myself:

Colour: My natural colour is brunette, but right now it's fading from dark red brown

Have you ever dyed your hair?: Yes of course, numorous times

What colours?: MOstly reds of varying shades. a few times it neared purple.

Length/ style: It's growing out now because I haven't had it cut in a few months but it used to be very short in the back and longer in the front kinda asymetrical. I just need to actually work on that.

As for what I find attractive on someone I'd want to date- I like guys with short hair. I'd get into it more, but now I'm on the phone. [/color]

Length/ Style. It varies from shorter to medium length. I guess usually when I get it cut or have to the hair in from covers my nose completely. I almost alway have gel in it to spike it up or what not. My favorite time is when the gel is rubbed out or worn out and it is all fluffy and still sticking up.

The hair I like on girls is generally a dark brown or black I LOVE Brunettes *winks at chibi* Long to medium length. I just like long dark hair really.

Colour: My hair sort've changes. It gets dark brown almost black in the winter time, and during the summer months lightens up a little bit. I have a spot in the back of my head (right where your soft spot was when you were little) thats blonde.

Have you ever dyed your hair?: I let my girlfriend my freshmen year talk me into frosting my tips. My fiancee is trying to get me to do it now, so I probably will when my enlistment comes up next september.

What colours?: Frosted my tips...blonde i guess

Length/ style: I keep it short all the time, I'm pretty anal about getting my haircut every two weeks. I keep it buzzed with a zero guard on the sides and faded up to the top. I keep my bangs a little longer than the rest and spike them straight up.

As for the oppise sex thing, I like a girl who takes care of her hair. Keeps it around shoulder length. And as far as color goes, I've dated blondes, brunettes, and redheads. And I'd say my favorite hair out of all would be my fiancee's which is light brown, but she hightlights it blonde.

A close second would be my last girlfriend (hope this never gets out), but she had long (about mid-back) platinum blonde hair that was kind've wavy.

My hair is currently varying shades of brown and gold (It's natural too)... Unfortunately, now that the summer months are over, it's going to be losing that blonde tint to it and turning an ugly shade of dark brown. (and what appears to be gray) Meh, I'll get over it. It will go back next year

I've dyed my hair only once: Black (I was going through an emo phase back in my sophomore year in high school) I hated it though, so I'm glad it's all back to normal

As for length and style: I used to prefer it as long as my mom would let me grow it. (Which, looking back, I'm glad that she made me cut it at certain points) It really looked gross and trashy when it was that long. But now, I prefer it shorter. I'm going to guess about 3 inches long. And I don't really style it. My hair stays however I want it to whenever I wet it, which is fine because I like the messy style anyway. But on random days, I'll put it into a fohawk or an emo style when I'm feeling sad. But mostly just bed head.

As for what's attractive: It doesn't matter on guys as long as they're not bald or military cuts. And on girls, I like curls a lot. And even though it's rare to find these days, I love girls with afros!!! I don't know why. :animeswea

Colour: I have brown hair with natural blonde, red, and brown highlights. So it is really reddish in fall, brown in winter, and blonde-ish in spring/summer.

I would kill myself before I dyed my hair. If I could pick the one thing that I absolutely go shallow and ditzy over is my hair.

My hair have been various lengths. The shortest reaching just above my shoulders and the longest to my hips. I am trying to grow it out to my hips again.

Style? Whatever I feel like that day. Usually I am just lazy when it comes to my hair.


Hair on guys? The longer the better...the longer it is the more I can play with.

My hair color is dark brown during the winter (so dark it almost looks black), lighter brown during the summer, and it looks red in the sunlight. My beard has very obvious red streaks in it.

No, I have never died my hair, either. I was blessed with being heterozygous in my hair gene, having a dominant brown hair gene and a recessive red hair gene. Whenever my cells undergo division, there was a certain chance that they would swap chromosomes (called something like "cross inscription during Mitosis) and would make a double brown gene, and a double red gene. This causes that streaking effect that is plainly visible in my beard, and is also visible in my hair in sunlight. Interestingly enough, my sister's cat has something similar.


Length: It is long. Goes down to my shoulder blades. I don't have any particular style. Just uniform length, with a slight V-shape in the back for effect. Looks real nice when face the wind, but gives the aura of being a rocker.


For the opposite sex, I also like long hair. There are some short-hair styles that look good on women, but I prefer to have it flowing everywhere.

I especially love this dark red violet colour that my hair dresser uses, my eyebrows and lashes are black so the colour actually looks natural and when it fades out you can't even see the roots. I'm prideful about my hair too- it's in great condition right now.

When I was pregnant I high-lighted my hair, but that's insanely expensive in a salon and tedious at home. Also it can be stressful and hazardous. I let my mom help me once when my hair was past my shoulderblades and it didn't turn out too good. I also did it once on a girl I used to take care of, the first time it turned out OK but her mom wanted the colour closer to the roots (it's hard doing a quad's hair especially when her hair is waist length) and it turned out bladly.

As for a complete discription in length. I've never had it fall past my shoulderblades. I like it being long layers or a nice diagonal cut. Right now my hair in the front is down to my shoulders and the back is an inch above that. I'm okay with whatever length I have as long as I can pull it back.

What I never really got into was the opposite sex's or whoever's hair. I like guys with short hair and clean cut. I'm horrid about it and quite bossy too, I usually end up telling my boyfriend every few weeks he needs a haircut. Hair colour doesn't really matter to me, but most guys I've dated have also had brunette hair- my ex-husband's was nearly black. My daughter has my hair colour though- it's a very nice medium brunette with some moderate highlights in the summer.

My hair color is a super dark brown...it pretty much looks black. Though currently from it being dyed it's a lightbrown-ish color with some leftover blonde.

Yes I started dying my hair a while back, only highlights though. Unfortunatly to highlight my hair I have to bleach the streaks first otherwise no die will stick (though I'unno now). I have always gotten some form of a red highlight and then when it fades I have a golden blonde color leftover from the bleach. Which eventually fades into a light brown.

Length: Long hair. I prefer long hair though about a year ago I randomly decided to chop it all off to make it short and with a bright red highlight. It was fun. I had about 2 feet of hair. I've only had hair short about twice though so I'd say my hair is always long. Right now it's about at my elbows.

Style. I liked layers for a little bit but eventually my hair gets too long. I usually keep it angled in the front and I have the sidebangs sorta...my style is hard to describe...cause while I cut my bangs to have the sidebangs ....they kinda just don't wanna do what they should...~_~ stupid hair.

I like to wear my hair wavy too ^_^

As for guys, I like 'em with short hair...like the typical guy hair cut. Not like buzz cut or anything though just like short like a little long but not like past their shoulders long....not even too their shoulders...I dunno. But I tend to go for blondes as well...well blonde dirty blonde color. ^_^

[FONT="Trebuchet MS"]I've basically had 4 different hair styles my entire life. The first one is called the "mom cut." My mom used to cut my hair. She did an alright job, but i'd never let her touch my hair again. It was pretty nerdy. Short and typical.

The 2nd one is when i had longer hair. It got long enough so that my bangs could basically touch the bottom of my nose when i pulled it straight down. It wasn't shoulder length or anything like that. I had this style through the majority of highschool.

the 3rd one was the faux-hawk. I did this one for my freshman year in college. I still kind of like this one, but i've grown out of it. At this point a barber is cutting my hair.

And the 4th and current one is just a normal cut. It's a pretty standard cut, but i put a little bit of product in my hair so it looks decent. I play it off to one side. It's short. The look is basically a sort of wind-swept look.

I have dark hair, btw.

The hairstyle i like on women is short. I like a short sort of punk inspired look. How short? Depends on the body style of the person. I personally think Natalie Portman in Hotel Chevalier is absolutely gorgeous. Which is great because you get to see her naked in the short film. But that's as short as i like it. Typically i'd say i prefer it a bit longer than that. If a girl can pull it off (like natalie does) then it's fantastic.

I actually really don't like it when girls pull back their hair into a ponytail with no bangs. Ponytail + bangs is alright. No bangs and you just look like a freaky freak person. I've very rarely seen a girl able to pull off that look. For the majority of girls out there, just don't do it. That's my opinion,anyways. =D[/FONT]

[COLOR="Indigo"]Ooh! i've gotten my hair dyed with brown highlights before and it was dyed black-but it was already black. i can't really dye my hair because it's thick and the dye messes up my hair really bad. my hair is like a really dark brown that's looks black. i have spray on red highlights now. any color lighter than black will involve me bleaching it and my hair will be really bad. i've had my hair in dreadlocks for about 4 and a half years now. i want it to grow down to my butt, but it's shoulder-length now. i tend to wear my hair in two ponytails, with a bandanna, or just one ponytail, or just down.:catgirl: now as for what kinda hair i find attractive for a guy.................. i like short hair that's maybe red or if he's a natural red-head. i hate when guys put their hair in ponytails.......it's unnatural. i'd settle for black or blond or; i have a weakness for guys with natural curly shiny black hair.:animeshy:[/COLOR]

[size=1]I can probably say I've dyed my hair more times than anyone here haha. If anyone wants to try and beat fifteen different colours (one year only) then be my guest! Same colours, I mean. I kind of alternate between one's I've used now and again. As for the entire amount of hair colour/products I don't know (and no, my hair won't fall out; anyone who tells you that doesn't dye their hair, does it wrong, uses the expensively **** stuff etc).

Most of the extreme ones were after I left school. I normally have more than two or three colours in my hair at once though.

The other week my hair was pink and green - the short side was pink the tips were pink on the long side and the rest was lizard-electric green. If anyone's interested I could get a picture off my mobile... right now it's 'pine green' but, because the hair dye is for African American hair, it comes out like this ELECTRIC, BRIGHT green stuff that borderlines bright cosmic blue. It's probably one of the best colours I've had.

I also know what I'm doing with hair dye so I know how to make semi-permanent dye last longer than it should, and stop the colours from washing into each other. I also know to stay away from Stargazer, Live and all that crap. Crazy Colour, Crazy Hair and Manic Panic is where it's at (Directions is also good).

My hair's been all these odd lengths, too, the best being the mohawk. Right now the left side is pretty long (to the bottom of my ear) and the back in the middle is long as well (will be growing and growing until the back goes into dreadlocks). The right side it about two inches long.

I prefer long hair in girls. And multi-coloured hair.[/size]

My hair is currently cut in an introverted bob. It's an odd mix of copper red (under), blonde(in streaks in the front), and many shades of brown(all through my hair). Yes, it's natural.

I have never dyed my hair(I was born with 'natural hilights). But I want to! Once I'm out of highschool, I'm choppin' my hair boy's length and dying it bright purple! YESH!!!

All together...I basically like boys and/or girls to have long, dark hair.

I was twleve the first time I had my hair dyed. It was sort of blonde-ish. It was the in thing back then, lol.

I've tried several reddish brown colors through high school. Then I got really bold and dyed it blue/black. I really liked it for awhile, but I eventually got tired of it. I won't do that again, mainly because it takes so long to grown out completely. That was my senior year, for graduation I got reddish streaks on the top with the black still in. It wasn't as cool as it sounds though, I was kind of disappointed. Sometime after high school I had my mom dye my hair with some kit where you put the streaks in first, then the full hair color which doesn't make any sense. Needless to say that was a desaster. My hair was this odd blonde color and it looked horrible. I was tagged 'goldie' at work for awhile. Then I re-dyed it a more natural color to get rid of it.. Thats probebly the last time though, so its been a few years. I've been wanting to get it down again, but I'm not sure what I want. I don't want full head coloring because thats too much work, depending on the color of course. I was thinking more like streaks, or low lights, whatever. We'll see.


Length/ Style.
I've been all over the place with this. Usually its at my shoulders. I did get a very short cut a few years ago. I was going for the Meg Ryan look, but since I have naturally curly hair it was a complete hassle. I've always wanted straight hair. I've had this 'rock star'-ish cut for a year or so, which I got from a photo of a Japanese girl. I really liked it, but its annoying having to straighten it because it can take me up to an hour and half because my hair is so thick. Plus I have it up everyday at work anyway because its easy. Now I want to grow my hair out and I'm thinking of going for Rachel Weisz look in The Mummy Returns.

Same sex hairstyle:
I love straight hair, and I've always wanted it but I'm trying to embrace the natrual curls I have, lol.

Opposite sex hairstyle:
That kind of varies. But no long hair. I hate when guys have that look with the hair covering one side of the face or something. It just irks me. I love the punk rock look [i]only[/i] on asians, lol.

I definatly agree with that. Most girls do look weird with no bangs and a ponytail. I didn't have bangs for a while and I would rarely pull my hair back in a ponytail cause it looked weird. Though I'd always have little wispy bangs hanging around...I don't think I could ever not have some form of bangs.

@Vicky...wow that is alot of colors...Hahaha they're fun colors too!!! I used to want to dye a few streaks of hair blue when I was in 2nd grade or so...my mom wouldn't let me.......~_~

I prefer something that is easy to care for so I keep it short. There isn't much to do style wise since all I have to do is wash it and let it air dry.
