Shinmaru
Don't know if there are any baseball fans here, but hey, might as well give the thread a shot. Anyway, I just finished watching my team -- the Dodgers -- go up 2-0 on the Cubs in the NLDS. I thought the Dodgers were talented enough and on a hot enough streak to take one or two games from the Cubs, but I never thought they would potentially sweep Chicago. Los Angeles has looked like a machine, though, aside from the hiccup in the ninth inning of tonight's game where the bullpen did not close the game as strongly as it should have. But, yes, beating Dempster and Zambrano is huge. The sweep would be nice, but I am not sure if the Dodgers will be able to hit Harden as hard as they hit the other two pitchers. We'll see, though. :) The other games have been interesting. Brewers are basically sunk -- Cole Hamels was a beast in game one (he is going to be SCARY next year), and C.C. Sabathia was Milwaukee's last hope. Evan Longoria was fantastic against the White Sox; the Rays won because he broke their jitters with his two home runs. He's going to be a hell of a player for years to come. Didn't really pay much attention during the Angels/Red Sox game. Anyone's favorite team in the playoffs? Who does everyone think is going to win it all? I'll be a homer and pick the Dodgers to represent the NL in the World Series. I am really impressed with the Rays (and, frankly, that team scares me), so I'll pick them to represent the AL. As for the world champion, I'll stick with the Dodgers, but it sure as hell won't be easy -- they'll win in seven games.
