OtakuBoards Chat

I've been hearing people talking about chatting with other members here on the OB a lot recently. This has given me the idea to try to form a more open "chat opportunity" for anybody who's interested.

I love talking to people here on the OB but sometimes it's a little tiring. You don't get that instant response that you can get in IMs or chat sessions. And sometimes it's that instant response, that occasional emoticon that really gives you a feel of another person's personality in a way that posts on a message board can't. Plus i think it'd be a good way for OB members to get to know one another in a different environment.

So here's what i'd like to do. First we should pick a day and a time. Then we need to pick a place to chat that everybody can access. We can do AIM, Yahoo, Google, Stickam, or whatever. I'm open to suggestions. Then all we need to do is go and chat and enjoy each other's company. Hopefully this'll work out, but we need your support for it to. o_0 Where's Uncle Sam when ya need him?

I've brought it up on the Convention Centre page. :animesigh But as a different idea where we get to meet one another. I'm just not sure how we go about it. And if you do want to chat with other members theotaku has a community chat too, but you have to be a memeber for three months.

But onviously I think it'd be a good idea to try and chat with more people.

PS: Bored as anything here. And I'm logged on to AIM now

Meh, I already talk to members via AIM and theotaku.com's community chat. Lots of regulars here (Sangome, Allamorph, SunfallE, Indi...etc) all inhabit that chatroom almost every day. In fact, we've already had a bunch of memorable moments that are included in Sangome's "Chat logs of Doom". I wouldn't be against this idea in the least, but it would take a large amount of planning to get everyone online at the same time. I guess it's just easier for me to continue on the path I'm already treading, but by all means...go for it.

Woo, plugging! [strike]And I didn't even threaten anyone to do it, imagine that[/strike]

But yeah, I'm rather comfortable with said theOtaku chat, but if this does indeed transpire, I now have the three main IM programs [though my preferred IM is MSN].

But yeah...the former option is probably the easiest, but hey, go for it.

Personally I think AIM would work better than theO's chat format. It doesn't have the three month restriction and unlike the chat you can adjust the IM window so it won't scroll up too quickly. Plus theO's chat has a limited capacity for remembering the log for you to save it, so... in my opinion, AIM would facilitate it a whole lot better than the service at theO.

Don't question the picture, just roll with it.

To what Rach said. Of the different ways i know how to chat AIM and Stickam are the ones i'd prefer to use.
