Yes, I too am going to get it no matter what. I don't know about other people, but I don't care that much about the graphics. I don't really like them, but I don't really dislike them. It's the gameplay that I care about and so far, I've enjoyed every Zelda game I've played.

I think it will be like all the Zelda games I have played (only oot, mm, and ooa) and be really fun. I think that they will find a way to make the story better than the old ones just because they have to otherwise a lot of zelda fans won't like it.

I'm really not sure if I'm in or out. When I first saw the new graphics, I refused to believe it. Then I saw more of it on a GC Zelda site....and I still refused to believe it. Now, allthough I pretty much know that's what they're gonna look like, I'm still not wanting to believe it, but I guess I'm just in denial.:p I really hate the new graphics. They're so ugly. It looks like they downgraded the game. I'll probably buy the game anyways when it comes out, just because it's Zelda, but I think the new version just sucks. The graphics aren't taking any advantages of GC. How stupid.........:flaming:

Any movies or screen shots that you see of the GCN Zelda aren't going to look good, because they were taken from watching the screen that the actual movie was playing on.
Infact, Shigeru Miyamoto asked that no one take movies or screen shots at all.

According to Miyamoto himself, (in an interview from some gaming magazine or other, can't remember which one) the graphics are indeed taking advantage of the GCN's capabilities. The graphics are just a different style.

It might also please some people to hear that I've heard a rumor that the graphics are going to be changed. Not entirely, but changed.
This is just a rumor, though...

Yep! It's currently scheduled for release in Fall 2002. In the US, at least...

I hope there aren't a whole bunch of delays, like with Ocarina of Time... But if that's what it takes to make the game the best it can be, I'm willing to wait.

I read on a Zelda site, today, that Shigeru Miyamoto has been asked to re-think his cel-shaded grpahics, because of marketing and such. It says we may still see real-looking graphics *crosses fingers* God, I hope so.......
I dunno... I don't really care that much about what it looks like... I would like them to change Link's face, but that's pretty much it.

Btw, is it clear to everyone that the "original" movie from Space World 2000 (the one of Link fighting Ganondorf) wasn't from an actual game? Because it's not. The Zelda, Metroid, Mario, and all of those trailers that they showed weren't from an actual game. They were just quick mock-ups to show off what the GameCube could do, graphically. (Yes, I know, Luigi's Mansion, Metroid Prime, and Zelda were probobly all actually in development at that time, but it said that they weren't from actual games on the Space World website).

So really, the GCN Zelda hasn't changed, the Space World 2001 movie (the cel shaded one) is the first real look that we've gotten of the GCN Zelda.

I know they weren't real, and I know they're probably not going to change the graphics. I can dream, can't I? I can't help it. I just hate the new look. It's so.....childish....Although gameplay matters a lot, so o graphics. I mean, it's what you're staring at the whole time.:therock:

Have you ever played The Legend of Zelda or Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, for the NES? Two of the best games on the NES, yet they both had pretty bad graphics, even compared to NES graphics.

I will be in line waiting for the game. I have ALWAYS been a fan of Zelda ever since picking it up for the first time. I have played every game that has come out in America and will continue to do so. Nintendo fanboy? Sure. . whatever you want to call me. I love Zelda series, and Link is my boy! (If you couldn't tell by my avatar. Can't wait till 500 posts though. . got a nice one I am working on ^_^

Anyways, kiddie graphics or not, this game looks sweet. I will get it, and I know that I will hook my friends on it, just like I did with my Nintendo64 version of the game =)

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is the all time greatest (sorry . . had to say it). . *runs away* =P

That's exactly like me! I don't care what it looks like, or if people lable me a fanboy for buying it. Ever since I started playing Zelda games, I've been hooked, and I'm not about to stop playing them just because of graphics... Hopefully I'll be able to change my brother's mind about it, too. He says that if I buy it, he's going to use the disc as a frisbee...

I love A Link to the Past too! The best game ever made!!!

Well, all games get boring, and even Zelda games fit into that catergory. I don't think there are very many games that I have played to death.

Goldeneye: 007 was the first I killed
Super Smash Brothers would be number 2
Super Smash Brothers: Melee would fall in a distant 3rd. Just never got played a lot =(

But honestly, in RPGs (ok, action/adventure/rpg), it is hard to find one that you can pick up and play any time. Zelda however is a game that I can repeatedly pick up and find it instantly fun, if not even a touch of a challenge ^_^

Love it~

P.S. About my nice avatar. . it will have to wait till I can get it off my other computer ^_^ sorry~ but it is nice. . simple, but nice

With those two games nintendo set a very high bar on the ladder. The graphics don`t look great but therefore they will have more space for larger dungeons and a great storyline.

P.S. I heard that the real looking footage of zelda was littarally scraped toghether in the last minute to show it off. The game should have been almost ready. I can also still hope for the good-looking game.

Yes, we can all hope. I think that if Miyamoto keeps the cel shaded look, Link should look like he did in the artwork for A Link to the Past. I've always wanted a Zelda game to look like the art that's drawn for it.
