Raiha
Wow. So do you only read the conservative propaganda? I think Raiha's past few posts have just proven what I can not prove in one hundred posts. The conservative mind set would have us believe that Barack Obama can not be trusted because of the color of his skin and his father's religion. Is this really where we are in this country? Do we really want to be the people that add to the hysteria of religious persecution? Does someone's father's religion make them untrustworthy?
Okay buddy, since you apparently forgot it's rude to talk about someone in the third person when they're right here in the room I'll just keep it simple. I do not CARE if Barack was once a Muslim. But if he was and he isn't telling the truth about it then I do care. That's merely a case of honesty, nothing else. And yes. I don't believe in hope. I don't believe in the government "helping" anyone. I don't believe that the government can really "help" anyone either. "I'm from the government and I'm here to help you" is a phrase I really do not like hearing, regardless of who is in office. I am not white. The color of his skin does not matter to me. I do care if he is going to take more of the money that I've worked hard for and spend it on people who neither worked as hard as me or know what to do with it. Excuse me while I go fine a push broom to sweep up the detritus of your massive and sweeping generalizations. The pot calling the kettle black is always an amusing situation. Here's some Ajax. Korey
Either way Katakidoushi, Raiha is entitled to have her opinion and I believe calling other people's opinions less worthy whether they base it on fact or not is rather childish. It seems that anyone with the title of conservative is frowned upon these days when I feel that liberals are also under the hot seat for what's going on. Just because the war in Iraq is still continuing on right now and the economy is in dire straits does not mean we can point fingers in either direction. While the Republicans do fillibuster any sort of legislation that might work against their views of how the Iraq war should be handled, the Dems are just as much to blame for doing the same thing. Need I remind you that it's one country, with one government and the hating on conservatives needs to stop. The same goes for liberals. We're one government and hating on the left wing or the right isn't gonna solve our countries problems. So both of you need to simmer down in that respect.
I do not CARE if Barack was once a Muslim. But if he was and he isn't telling the truth about it then I do care. So yes they will be paying more taxes. And as far as evidence to "state my opinion": I have not been the one making outlandish claims about another person. I have simply tried to set the record straight regarding the truth about an individual. I have made no claims that require evidence to back them up. I do have a problem with someone's opinions when they are not based on anything relative. I have no problem with someone sharing a different opinion than me, but it should be an informed opinion. Haven't we had enough of people spreading the hate? I'm not referring to Raiha neccesarily, but people in general. I do not see how this is trolling. I have not brought up any slanderous material about anyone else. My enitire stance from the beginning has been to defend someone who is having slander thrown against them. I agree with you that the liberals are not innocent either, and if they started making accusations towards someone I supported I would take a stance against them as well. I'm not a Democrat or a Republican, or even an Independent; I disagree with all of them too often to lump myself in with them. I'm not attacking conservativism. I'm taking a stance against the personal attacks made against Barack Obama. I hope now we can move on from this point and discuss more relative matters. I mean yeah a few peple down in Arkansas (where they also passed a ban on single people adopting children- but hey it IS Arkansas) might keel over from heart attacks. But seriously how is a little gay marriage stifling or offending your little hetero partnership. Connecticut decided to allow same sex marriages and the world din't come crashing to a halt. Heck Canada allows same sex marriages and they also have one of the lowest crime rates in the world and a conservative Prime Minister along with a conservative parliment. No one has suffered irreversible damage from a same sex marriage. If anyone is being stifled right now it's homosexuals. They can't expect to have the same civil liberties as everyone else because certain members of society are offended by it. In my humble opinion a constitutional ban on gay marriage is UNconstitutional and it retards our country's growth.
