Akieen Cloud
Vixen scanned the horizon humming lightly looking between the two ships and sighed softly. They were out of the forest so to speak but she knew the worst was only on the way. They would never give up on that much bounty in one location that easily. But for the moment she was content to enjoy the small span of peace that they had been given, she looked up at the sky and let out another small sigh and looked around once more before going to see Hammer in the kitchens. "You sure your making enough old man?" He looked up at her and gave her a warming smile. "I think it'll have to do till we hit a harbor somewhere soon, if the others don't like it they can suck it up." "We're on an ocean Hammer, you ever think of fishing?" He chuckled and opened a large barrel of fish. "I think I already did that." She nodded and walked back out and onto the deck as the sun began to set on the horizon in front of her. She studied the bright oranges and reds and looked down at her hands as the wind blew her hair around her shoulder to rest infront of her. She looked up as Garlock's feet hit the deck. "Can I incline as to why you have graced my ship with your presence?" He shrugged and looked at her. "And even more amazing is you didn't bring your pet with you." He smirked and walked over to where she was standing and stood next to her. "And you care why?" "Who said I care?" "No one, just assuming." "That's the mother of all fuck ups you know that right?" "I do now." She looked at him and studied his face a few moments. "Your staring." "No I'm not." "Just admit you like me already, how long have we been chasing each other around these oceans?" "Ever since you lost 1,000 of my berries in a gamble." He shook his head and looked over at her. "What I remember is you gave it to me so I could gamble for you. Am I right?" "No, you did it on your own, you asked for the berries, I never gave them to you." He shook his head again and opened his mouth to retort when Hammer slammed the kitchen door open and yelled over the deck so everyone could hear. "Grubs on!" Vixen smiled slightly and linked her arm in Garlocks. "Care to escort me to dinner?" "Can I join you?" "Maybe, if you admit you asked me for the berries." He rolled his eyes and headed for the kitchens, Vixen in tow.
Ol' Fighter
Izu awoke to the sound and smell of rain outside the quarters he was in. He quickly hopped up stretching his shadow forward to open the door. As he began his quiet stride on the ship's deck he could smell the faint scent of roasting fish. Izu's mouth began to water a bit because he couldn't remember the last time he had a meal of fish. He was actually accustomed to eating fruits and vegetables on his island. He turned the corner only to be met by Scarlett in a pose of beauty. Her clothing was nearly hugging against her body reveiling her lovely curves. Izu couldn't bring himself to say anything as he continued to watch her. "Staring is kind of rude you know..." Scarlett said from the corner of her eyes. Izu was trying his best to regain his calm demeaner. "Sorry, couldn't help myself there" Izu replied laughing. He created a shadow that resembled an umbrella and placed it over her and his head. "From the faint smell of fish in the air I think the food is ready" he said gesturing her to walk with him.
The Spectacular Professor
Garlock held up a hand. "Had my fingers crossed." "You can't do that," objected Vixen. "Who the hell do you think I am?" replied Garlock, "we're all pirates here, cheating is what we do!" "Fair enough," smirked Vixen, signaling to the cook. Garlock watched in horror as his plate was removed from him. "Hey, what the-!" "If you want to eat, tell me what I want to hear." "That's extortion!" "Pirates." "DAMMIT!" . . . Garlock sat on the Spiral King's figurehead, whiskey in hand. "We have a galley on this ship too, ya know," said Sharona, leaning on the rail nearby. "Pretty decent cook, too." "Jeez, woman. Just drop it." "Well, Captain," she replied, "I'm just suggesting that you could have avoided the humiliation if you'd just eaten over here." Garlock took a swig. "Women." Sharona chuckled. "Can't live with us, can't live without us. Later, Captain." Garlock watched her leave, then turned back to the ocean. "I gotta learn to keep my damn mouth shut," he muttered to himself, taking another swig.
jomz
“Whew, I’m saved!” a voice from behind the kitchen of the Spiral King said. “I can’t believe I survived that… Who would have guessed that the ship I stowed myself in was a marine ship – and to top it all off, got itself in a battle and lost… Good thing I was in that barrel or I would have died for sure…” A man’s voice happily spoke to himself as he ate some meat. “I wonder who this shi-“ “Hello there, are you new?” A voice from behind said, causing Breeze B. Eir to nearly choke… *cough, cough* “Hey, are you alright?” It was one of Garlock’s recruit. “Yeah, I’m fine.” Eir said as he gulped down some water. “You do realize that the captain will be mighty pissed if he finds you stealing from the fridge…” The crewman said Eir scratched his head embarrassingly as the crewman left, after telling him that he should just eat with them outside. * * * “Oh, they seem to be having some fun. It’s like a party out there… Alright!” Eir said as he looked at the crewmembers eating. He inched his way over to the group. He sat down beside a crewmember, who – unknown to him, was Tetra. “What are you doing with an empty plate? Our cook will be unhappy if crewmen are hungry! Here.” Tetra handed Eir a plateful. “Thanks!” Eir began eating. “This sure is a fine crew…” He thought to himself. Garlock, after emptying his bottle slowly walked to his cabin. He saw his crew eating, well, more like having a ruckus, then he noticed something. He saw a guy wearing a light-brown pair of pants and leather coat, a pair of boots, a long, white scarf on his neck and a pair of goggles strapped to his head. Garlock raised an eyebrow and smelling something fishy, he slowly walked over to the person. “Enjoying yourself, boy?” Garlock spoke behind the new guy. Eir turned around, and answered with a smile. “I sure am!” ----------------------------------------------------------- OOC: Thought of joining the story. So... I wonder what will the Captain do? Will he throw me out of his ship? XD
Akieen Cloud
Vixen stood at the front of her ship looking at the ocean, it was smooth and calm but it was the appearance of the marines that bothered her the most. Looking up at Hammer as he made his way over to her. "Something on your mind?" "I have a feeling we're in over our head, we'll be in more dangerous waters soon and we have no idea what we're doing." "I do, and I know you do, Garlock and the others seem to be able to handle them selves pretty well." "It's not that, we'll need someone who knows these water better than any of us, and I know just the person." She pulled a small note from her pocket and opened it, a name and port written on it in delicate hand writing. "Asthex..." "Asthex, I've heard of him, he's a cut throat, all he'll want is money!" "Money I have Hammer. Besides, he owes me a favor." "What favor did you pay this man?" "I saved him from hanging a few years ago. I think his community service sentence should be served. Head for port." Hammer nodded and turned the wheel, watching as Garlock and his ship followed suit. It was a few days later when she hopped off her ship and her feet hit the dock, it was a town that not many knew about and most pirates never really enjoyed it. Peaceful and quaint she looked around and pulled the note from her pocket again, heading for the pub she walked in and was greeted with a few smiles and some frowns, looking in the corner she spotted the man she was looking for. Kicking a chair back she sat down and pulled her braid over her shoulder she leaned on the table and looked at him under that dark coat he was hiding under. "Asthex. I've come to you for the debt you owe me." He looked up at her and she saw the shine from his eyes, seeing him blink she realized that she had changed since he last saw her. "Vixen Moriean. Remember, I saved your neck from hanging a few years ago." He nodded silently and looked at her hand as it sizzled on the table. "I acquired the flame flame fruit since we last met, in case you were thinking of backing out of this." He shook his head and leaned in so only she could hear. "As long as I get out of this god fearing town I don't care. But you know better than any I have a price." "Name it, I'm not short on money." "I would imagine that daughter of the great Ace would not be in financial trouble." "Hmph, you knew?" "That your name was a fake. Of course." She nodded and put a few coins on the table and motioned for him to follow her. "Lets get going." With in a few hours she was standing at the front of the ship again, only this time watching the sun sink below the ocean.
Deadpool
Asthex stood at the railing of the side by the helmsman whos name was apparently Hammer staring out to see as they head farther out to see. His black cloak billowed around him causing him to pull the hood farther down on his face and fastening the flapping cloak down keeping it in place. He stood in that same spot for hours just staring at the almost gone sun, happy that no one had talked or bothered him since he got on board. Granted he liked the desert it was a good change to be back on a boat after almost fifteen years but the training he went through those years was only going to make it so much more easier to obtain his goal. Suddenly a voice broke his train of thoughts. "So....." He was a little annoyed at Hammer breaking his thoughts. "What" His voice came off sharp. 'What exactly were you doing back there? I mean why eactly would a man like you stay after you did your time?" Asthex unconcoiusly rubbed the spiked bracelet on his left arm remembering the stupid comminty work he had to do for that pompus mayor. "My reasons are my own and I would advise you to refrain yourself from staying out of matters which in turn do not concern you" "Sorry my bad mate I guess that leaves those four big crats you had brought on board are out of question too." Asthex still kept his back to the man never moving. "Yes those would a part of my business too which in turn deosnt concern yours but as far as if your inquiring if anything vauable might be in there that would be a no but your free to go look though it is none of my responsibility for what happens to whoever may meddle into my possesions" Hammer just shook his head. "For a cut throat you sure don't talk liike one there" Vixen's head popped up as she came up the stairs. "Your friend here is not the nicest of people Vixen" Asthex's voice cut in. "Then maybe that should give you insight on that i dont want to carry on a conversation" "See what i mean?" Vixen just shook her head. "Leave alone Hammer its for the best. I will take over from here" Hammer made his way down the stairs and into the lower part of the ship. "One of my men is dead" Asthex continued staring out to sea. "They were warned not to open them" Vixen gave a snort. "How could they resist we are all pirates, you could understand how made they were when they found out it was just sand in them." "And they were quite surprised when it started moving then took one of them in now weren't they...you should have seen their faces it was quite pleasurable, expecially feeling that one die within my grasp" Vixen turned her head. "you have been up here the entire time how did you know?" Asthex held out his hand holding a small glass bottle halfway filled with sand, suddenly the sand took the shape of the man that was now dead in one of the boxes. "An amazing gift this is, not only controling sand but also absorbing liquids as well as other things, truly a marvelous power once its mastered" "Keep your self in check you kill anymore of my men you will take their spots...all of them" Asthex slowly turned his green eyes flashing as he advanced and grabbed a hold of her arm. Vixen just smiled as her arm superheated where his hand was then frowned as didn't remove it but melted glass rolled down her skin instantly cooling. He removed his hand leaving that spot covered with glass. "You should also keep yourself in check before i take this boat down to the sea floor trust me it wouldn't be the first." He watched as she superheated her arm even hotter then before to remelt the glass letting it drip and form a puddle at her feet. He slowly turned his back and walked back to the railing. "But I will say this as well..." Vixen's voice was now sharp with anger. "What?" "....thank you for before those many years ago back when we were both younger and stupid"
Akieen Cloud
Vixen felt her temper dwindle some as she looked at his back. Sighing she let a small smile form on her face and nodded. Walking down the stairs she stopped beside him and put her hand on his shoulder. "Don't, I know you probably wouldn't have done the same but what ever. I figured there was a reason you were being hung and I wanted to see it. Not only that, back than I think I saw something in you that has been lost for a long time." "And what is that?" "The will to live." She looked at him, her eyes bright as she smiled, his frown only made her smile more, putting her face down she let her hand drop off his shoulder as she walked away. "If you would like to join me for a drink later this evening, I'll be in my cabin. Just knock four times and I'll answer." She walked away and to her cabin, looking up she spotted each of her crew and ducked into the room. Leaning on the closed door she heaved a sigh and than flopped onto the bed.
jomz
Eir stared up to the man that was looking down on him? ?Why are you looking at me like that?? Eir looked at the man and made a wild guess, ?Captain?? He felt that this person seemed to have some authority around here, apart from that coat and posture. Eir took another bite at his plate. He suddenly felt a strange sensation at the back of his neck ? like someone, well more like everyone, is staring at him. Everything became quiet. ?Is something wrong?? The tension was unbearable. The Spectacular Professor
"And just who the hell are you?" It wasn't that Garlock was opposed to new hands, far from it. New recruits were always welcome, particularly skilled fighters. Stowaways, however, were a different story. "Breeze B. Eir, future Pirate King!" replied the youth. "Right, and I'm Queen of Alabasta. What's your business, smuggling yourself aboard my ship?" "I need to start somewhere, right?" said Eir, "This was the coolest-looking ship in the harbor, so I figured the captain was pretty strong." "Flattery will get you nowhere, but I still appreciate it." "Anyway, I figured anyone who ran such a great-looking ship would command a pretty strong crew, so maybe I could get stronger by joining up," Eir finished. "Well, I suppose I could make an exception to the no stowaways rule this once," decided Garlock, "Welcome aboard the Spiral King, my boy! Let's give you the grand tour." . . . "Captain!" The familiar sound prompted Garlock to turn away from the railing he was showing to Eir and face a sight he was only too used to. "Hello, Rona. What seems to be the trouble?" "You are THE. BIGGEST. MORON to ever set foot on a deck!" she yelled, "For all we know, this kid could be a Marine spy and you're showing the inner workings of one of the most complex ships on the sea!" Garlock glanced back at Eir, who was busy trying to spot the biggest-looking fish in the area. "I'm not seeing it." "We know next to nothing about him, captain," Sharona continued, "I really think you should be more cautious." "I know about him. He's another one of the hundreds of crazy kids who come out here every year and try to make something of themselves. This crap's been going on for 40 years, Rona. We have nothing to worry about. Besides, I think this kid has potential." "You've got to be crazy," Sharona replied, waving an arm dismissively. Unfortunately, the arm made some contact with Eir, who, standing on the rail at the time, toppled off the ship and into the sea below. "Well now you've done it," muttered Garlock. He then turned to the rail and yelled, "Hold on a sec, I'll lower a rope, just tread water 'till then." "Captain," said Sharona, a slit twinge of shock in her voice, "he's not coming back up." Garlock leaned over the rail and looked down, snapping back up almost instantly. "Dammit, why didn't he tell me he ate a Devil Fruit! Emergency positions, boys and girls! We have a User overboard!"
