My dad will probebly make turkey, stuffing, deviled eggs, and all the other traditional thanksgiving foods. My mom is diffrent, I think she's making tacos and burritos, lol. She makes really good Mexican food.
Hey can I come to your mom's for dinner? My family does turkey and home made cranberry sauce. And my mom makes some good stuffing. It has breakfast sausage in it. Yum.

I managed to get time off from work so I'll be driving home Wednesday afternoon and then returning on Saturday. I tried to get the whole weekend off but oh well, at least I got the main days off. I didn't manage to get last year off so going to see my family will be nice.

What makes this year special is my girlfriend is going with me. I'm both excited and nervous about her meeting my parents and siblings.
To make things even more unbearable...

Thanksgiving now officially has a reason to be hated...

My plans have just gotten a million times worse...
Vague post is vague. Also kind of emo.

I am going home. Since I'm in college, taking the week off to go see my grandmother in SC isn't possible for now, so I'll content myself with my immediate family and my cats.

Man, Shadow is going to go frilling nuts.

Yes it was a little emo. I tend to do that from time to time.
I supposed the only good thing that's come out of it, my mom isn't making me go to the big family reunion thanksgiving!!! So, it looks like I'll be spending Thanksgiving at home, but I'll be alone. :animesigh

Nonsense. You can always hang around here, I know I will be. Ah, I can see it now, laying here on my bed, skulking around OB whilst I stuff myself silly with pie, gaining fifteen pounds in five minutes. Oh, I feel pathetic...:animedepr

Just hide anything that could be used as incriminating evidence and try to get your family to avoid alcohol at all costs. Also make sure that your girlfriend isn't alone with any family memebers who would say anything less than favourable about you.

If that doesn't work become an orphan.

She's more than capable of taking care of herself (and I'm not just saying that since she's a member here).

It's more a case of well, just wondering how they'll get along. That and I don't usually bring someone along when I do get to go home. I do have a pretty sane family though, well as sane as any family can get. =P Thanks for the advice just the same.

Oh I wasn't worried that they'd do anything to her. I was thinking more along the lines of them saying things to her about you that you would rather they just leave unsaid. Like how my boyfriend knows about some dumb thing I did when I was like ten thanks to my mom because I let them talk to eachother. Plus the alcohol is a natural vocal lubricant.

Trust me any family as sane as they can be can still manage to emberass you. Okay so most of you probably don't have a (former) mother-in-law who got herself pissed (drunk) at your wedding reception or a grandma (may she rest in peace) who engages in pro-life demonstrations and tells people how terrible it is that Muslims don't know about Jesus. But everyone has family who will inadvertantly emberass them at one point or another. So just nod and claim that you're adopted and it'll all be over soon.

I don't have a problem with her knowing some of the stupid things I did as a kid. Because I was, just a kid, that and she already knows about how my brothers and I thought it would be a bright idea to start a bonfire in one of the older barns. A fire that resulted in burning the entire building down. =P
Trust me any family as sane as they can be can still manage to emberass you. I guess I didn't convey that right, I want the visit to be a nice experience for her, I'm already use to my family's paticular brand of wackiness. Anyway, I think that about covers it really.

So I have nothing to do until December 1st and I have the house to myself until this Friday afternoon. Thus, I'm extending an open invitation to my friends who read this and happen to be in the area. If people want to drop by any time this week I'll be home with tea, mulled apple cider, and food. Lots of food.

When the weather gets cold I cook.

Thanksgiving I'll be cooking and eating around 4 or 5, so if anyone wants to come by, they're totally welcome. Come earlier and help me cook and you'll get freebies. Come later and eat and you'll get to do the dishes. You decide.

The menu for Thanksgiving day is as follows;
Lemon salt Turkey
Biscuits
Steamed broccoli with cheddar cheese
Garlic cheese potatoes
Apple cider with cinnamon sticks
Pumpkin pie
Creme Bruleé

First come first served.

Well lets see for thanksgiving, I'm going to my parents house. My plans have changed I originally was staying home, and pulling the frozen thanksgiving dinner thing, because me and my mother were fighting. But things got better so I'm going there and My aunt from denver is coming into town and my Grandmother came to town. Pretty much just a family dinner. The way it should be I think.

I am SOOO going to Raiha's for Thanksgiving.:o But I can't decide whether to come late or early. Early: I get freebies, but I make food explode by being near it. Late: I do dishes rather well, but some vultures *stares at other members* may get the food I want for myself... Oh, what to do, what to do...:animesigh

Well no need for me to repeat what Nathan already said. =P We'll be leaving later this afternoon for Idaho. lolz So since my Thanksgiving plans are already known, I leave you all with this since I won't be back until Saturday afternoon/evening.

Anyone want to go to my daughter's babysitter's for an after Thanksgiving party? I can't go because I have to go back to work. BUt my mom is going. She'll have prizes and snacks. I even made cupcakes- but since my car was in the shop today and I needed sleep and it was raining/snowing they have Tinkerbell wrappers on them. BUt hey, I think they're just as festive as ever. :animesigh

Oh and as for left overs. I'm hoping my mom makes her stuffing so I can share that with a couple I used to take care of. Other left overs will be taken to work on Friday because I have a sixteen hour shift on Black Friday. Saturday... oh Saturday will be fun because I do the monthly 1/2 hour visit with my daughter's other grandma in a house that smells like stale cigarettes and cat err... leavings :animeswea. But after that it's McDonald's and the Strong Museum.

Thankfully I have tomarrow and friday off from work. The past few years they always had a couple people come in to work the day after thanksgiving.

I'm having thanksgiving here at my dad's tomarrow. My aunt and my dad's girlfriend will be coming aswell. So tomarrow morning I'll workout, maybe do some last minute cleaning, then shower. They're suppose to be here at 2pm.

Friday my brother and I are going to our mom's. Shes making tacos, lol. Shes so unconventional. Her and my step dad make really good mexican food, and its authentic. She lives an hour away so we stay the night and usually come home late saturday, usually around 11pm.
Did anyone watch the Macy's parade this morning? The Foster's float rickrolled America with the actual Rick Astley on live television. I was laughing so hard when that happened.
Yeah, I noticed that too! I just sorta sat there with my mouth gaping open, thinking "WTF?!", and then started saying "AUGH! America just got rickrolled!!!"

Well, let me know how it went, Chibi and Raiha. ^^ I hope you guys had fun.

Thanksgiving was saved this time for me. We almost bought some pre-made meals at some restaurant for one hundred dollars, but I managed to talk my parents into just cooking since we already had all of the ingredients. (They wanted to save some of it, like the turkeys for Christmas.)

A lot more cleaning afterwards, but it was worth it.

My daughter stole my turkey off my plate numorous times. Then I got to work just to find out that I didn't have to go to work which really cheesed me off. Then they did it again last night which led me to go have a beer with a co-worker and watch Saturday Night live at her house.

So... when do we start talking about Christmas?
