Maybe it's a bit pretentious to nominate something I did myself, but I don't care; the Caramelldansen skin is too awesome. The result of an April Fools prank turned into a crazy idea for a new skin, I banged it out in one furious week of work and am still surprised at how well it ended up being received. It was a lot of fun to make and even more to hear about people enjoying it.

It may not be part of OB itself, but a lot of OB regulars hang out there along with others from theO. It's sort of the successor to the crazy AIM chats that used to happen and it's been a great place to talk with people, meet new friends, and even drag some theO people over to OB.

Not a part of OB, no, but as Des said, many regulars hang out in it, and it's one of the things in life that manages to successfully siphon a bit of my life day after day. It's always a boatload of fun [when n00blets aren't around, anyway], and not only did it drag some theO people over here, it actually got [b]me[/b] back into OB...for more than a two month period! Definitely an accomplishment.

I wish the place were a bit more active now that I am more active with my anime watching, but oh well.

Despite infecting OB with [strike]the scourge of the Internet[/strike] Caramelldansen, Des is someone I am proud to call one of my best online friends. His Anime Club on theOtaku.com is one of the highlights of my week (up to your discretion whether that is a sad thing or not), and I have watched a fair amount of shows on his recommendation. On top of that, Des is just a good guy in general and fun to talk with [strike]when he's not coding[/strike].

I've had a lot of fun randomly spazzing with 'Gome about various things in theO's chatroom. She's also had a positive influence on my anime watching -- she got me excited about [b]Mobile Suit Gundam 00[/b] and [b]Code Geass R2[/b], and I watched [b]Tales of the Abyss[/b] and [b]Higurashi no naku Koro ni[/b] on her recommendation. 'Gome is quite nifty, in my book.

I had been meaning to try out [B]Tales of the Abyss[/B] for a while, and this snarky jerkface was probably the most endearing character in a cast full of win and likability (Luke, Natalia and Anise being up for debate.) Seeing as how he's basically become a minor meme around here, I think he deserves a spot this year.

Apparently I joined OB in '03 (wait, what?!). And I'm not gonna lie, I have a terrible memory, both for online stuff and in real life. So whenever the Nifty Fifty comes around, I tend to find myself drawing a blank at first--as in, "Uh, what exactly happened this past year?" I'm afraid that even the most epic threads and events of yore have long since slipped my mind. But there are some topics that you can pretty much count on to reappear every single year. Halloween. Thanksgiving. Christmas. Valentine's Day. April Fool's. Summer break. And of course the list goes on. It's comforting, and familiar, and somehow it never gets old.

Dragon Warrior?s OB parodies have become a site tradition, and Darren May Cry was one of his stronger efforts. Although the names and the faces always seem to change, every year, DW proves that there will always be an audience for potty humor and in-jokes.

Never before has a single project taken exhausted so much of my time, creativity and patience. The Almagest Legacy was an enormous undertaking, but despite all of the drama and controversy I feel like we pulled off one of the greatest and most coherent RPGs in the site?s history. This was a true collaboration in every sense of the word, and I?m very grateful to have been a part of it with such talented and dedicated writers.
