In March and then in November, and for some reason, I find that amusing. Mainly because I'm not superstitious. I do find it interesting that we even have a word for it. triskaidekaphobia o_O I'm sure that's been around for a while, you just don't hear it that often. If you go about your business on Friday the 13th expecting and looking for spooky, scary or just plain weird stuff, you're going to find it. Spend the 13th like a normal day like I did, and it will be a normal day. Supposedly it's supposed to be good luck when you're born on Friday the 13th but who knows. That aside, I'm right there with you in saying it's all nonsense. No, last night at 10:20 a plane with 48 people total in it crashed in an area nearby. It crashed into a home, too. 49 people dead total, it killed 1 of 3 people in the house. This means that I have to wait all weekend and all next week (mid-winter break) until taking a Spanish and Science test and to give out Valentine's crap. I'm not afraid of Friday the 13th but I'm a natural paranoid mess, so there's always that thing in the back of my head that tells me to stay inside and not talk to anyone so I can't possibly do anything unlucky. My friend is obsessed with Friday the 13th (he's one of those horror-goth-punk things who loves Wednesday 13 far too much and has the biggest collection of B Movies and KFC boxes in his room) so it should be a laugh when he phones me up during the night to tell me one of his legendary stories. Or maybe not this year, since he'll be going to see the movie, most likely. I remember one time in school I shouted "Oh my God! Besides, Valentine's day is tomorrow… haha, what a great opener to yet another over-commercialized "holiday". Even if there is hype behind today, I might just play a scary game for the hell of it. I'd say my good luck started last year, though in the long run I didn't necessarily accomplish anything special last year, so I guess this is where the ball gets rolling. You can call it superstition, but the timing of my relief from this curse is insanely impeccable - as much so as any insane event that happened in accordance with premonition over the course of last year. Although, it was pretty strange that a former student from my university pulled a gun on a professor on the 13th... But I think he had that in mind for a while, just to conveniently match up with Friday the 13th. I facebooked him after finding out, and he had some pretty creepy status updates on there... But, he didn't shoot anyone, fled the campus, and was caught by the police a few hours later. :o That's about enough excitement for me for the rest of the year.
