Esbell
As the acolytes had fled, the music that filled the area faded to silence, and now all that the man could hear were the screams of the daemons and acolytes. A horrified howl of a young woman echoed from the crowd of acolytes. The man saw one by one the garbed figures erupted in clouds of their own blood, all of them slaughtered in a fashion almost festive, at least in the demented eyes of the man who witnessed it. Amidst the chaos the violent crusader was revealed: an almost decrepit man sporting a vibrant red overcoat, and wielded a massive claymore that was decorated with the acolyte’s blood. Night… The Hunter darted toward the man, brandishing his weapon in an aggressive advance, yet he was quick to alter his attention in favor for the half-daemon in distress. The man watched in intrigue as Night made quick work of the serpentine daemon that terrorized his ally. In a flickering flame the monster disappeared into nothingness almost as if it had never been there. This act had caused the other ape-like daemons to stumble back astonished while hollering in terror. Night neglected to even take account of the other daemons of the area because of this, but instead addressed the man questioning the acolytes schemes. The man broke out of his dazed expression, “It would make me a bit more comfortable if you would call me Benoit” he responded. Looking at back the strewn bodies of his comrades the man sighed, and began to limp over to the mess, continuing to speak as he advanced toward the bodies. “It was a night of wine, women, and song for me,” he chuckled lightly. In an instant the black ribbons lashed out and grabbed the upper half of an acolyte that was split in two. Benoit turned to face Night and propped the body near him and used his ribbons to manipulate it like a puppet. With it’s arm’s placed to its dead eye’s it was made to look like the body was weeping. “This poor thing was little Penelope,” Benoit stated with a mockingly sad expression while patting the back of the body. “She was a loving wife and mother of two,” after that statement he released the body and it fell violently on the pavement. To illustrate her demise Benoit traced a finger across his throat. "You see we arn't all out of our minds," he paused with a humorous expression on his face. "While everyone else does the fighting, we enjoy our music."
Drizzt Do'urden
Ty always wondered what it would look like if all hell had literally broken loose, he assumed a little like the scene in front of him. Ty had Vanguard drawn, as well as using the sawed off. It was a little cumbersom, but so far very effective. He hadn't seen Rasic since the big half daemon charged into the mix, but he assumed he was fine....he hoped. For some reason, Ty couldn't quite figure out, he was being ignored for the most part. An acolyte would charge here or there, only to be cut down quickly. Only once, maybe twice, he'd resorted to the sawed off when a group would charge, but for now he was reserved to take the acolytes on as they came. Waiting for some sign that Rasic, or any of the other hunters here were okay, or until he finished cutting his path to the place where Rasic entered. Either way, he was thankfull for the daemons and acolytes hatred for Half-Daemons. It kept him out of the crosshairs, for now.
ScreamSin
Night stared at the man, sword still raised, but fatigue was starting to set in. He had been moving nonstop since midnight, and it was going on 4 in the morning. Sweat rolled down his face as he glared at the acolyte. "You're all insane, only a psychopath who doesn't understand their own worth would sell their soul to Hell! What do you expect to get from that bargain?" Night winced slightly, but refused to show the pain from the smack to his ribs. He blinked as the acolyte lost his balance for a moment, falling to the ground. The ape like daemons seemed to recover from the initial shock of Night's attack. They moved in to surround the hunter. Benoit managed to climb to his feet as Mortus stared down at him, sitting on the hood of his car. "Benoit, return to the warehouse. We have new orders for you." The daemon hopped off and locked eyes with Night. "Well well, we meet at last. I won't deny I have been waiting for this moment since news of the Red Coat Hunter first reached Hell. And you even have your little half breed pet, how adorable." Mortus snapped his fingers and the ape like creatures charged forward, swarming over Night and Thea. The hunters were pushed backwards before regaining their footing, both holding their ground side by side as the daemons died left and right. The daemon smiled, and disappeared in a flash of flame. Night pushed forward, trying to wade through the daemons to reach Benoit, but was shoved back by the beasts. Thea was surrounded alongside him, hacking and slashing through the daemons with her claws and fangs.
Akieen Cloud
Thea watched Night carefully knowing he was getting worn out, realizing his movements were getting sluggish. She growled as she felt a set of fangs sink into her arm and threw the deamon off. She threw open her wings throwing off 3 deamons away from her and drew her weapon out, she began to hack away at the deamons till she was able to put her back against Night's. She Spread her wings so they were set on either side of him like shields and fought off the deamons at his back moving with him as he made his way towards the acolyte. She growled as he was stopped by another wave of deamons hindered his movements yet again, spinning around she grabbed the back of his coat and lifted him up and over the deamons and threw him over the horde and towards the car, she nodded as he landed and looked back at her. Turning she faced the horde that seems surprised by her move to get Night closer to the acolyte. She took her stance and smiled as they recovered and charged her. Letting out a feral growl she met them head on and tore threw them running off the energy to keep Night as safe as she could as he handled his own fight.
Xemos
Jeez he really does need to teach me that trick. Rasic thought to himself as he pushed several Acolytes away with a rough shove. "Baaaah....this is almost never ending!" He hissed, keeping the humans nearest him at arms length as he and Cal made their way through the mass. The half daemon grimaced as a white hot pain stabbed him in the side, and he turned, seeing a man with a triumphant look on his face. The guy actually had the nerve to use a half sharpened butter knife! The look on the mans face slipped as he saw his attack had no effect, even more surprised as he found himself being used as a meat shield two seconds later as the half daemon barreled through the acolytes like they were so many bothersome twigs. "Keep up, Cal!!!" He called, glancing back to see that the other was keeping pace as he pushed through the bodies as well. Almost suddenly, Rasic stumbled into empty space, almost falling over as he broke free of the mob of acolytes. "Woah-AUGH!!!" He shouted, tossing the man he'd used as a battering ram aside before he overbalanced himself. Rasic regained his bearings as he turned back to the now smaller group of acolytes, seeing Ty out of the corner of his eye. The group was turning on him as he aimed his revolver at the nearest acolyte. C'mon Cal....get out of there.... He thought, frustrated and worried as he looked for the other half daemon amongst the chaos.
Drizzt Do'urden
Ty smiled as he saw Rasic burst through the ocean of Acolytes. He smile quickly faded as he saw Cal get swarmed as the acolytes turned their attention soley to him. "Rasic, it looks like they think if they gang up on you guys they can take you out one by one. What's say we bring umm back down to earth?" Ty unloaded the last two shells from his shotgun, then strapped it back to his back in place of Vanguard which he drew in it's place. Ty watched as Rasic removed his gloves and once again brandishing his giant claws. Ty walked to the nearest Acolyte tapping him on the shoulder. As if he hadn't noticed Ty the whole time the acolyte did a double take and then swung at Ty. Dodging easily Ty cut down that acolyte and the one next to him in one blow. Apparently alerting others nearby the acolytes began to turn away from Cal and came after Ty. Out of nowhere two acolytes...or rather two halves of one acololyte smashed into the group. Knocking several down, and giving Ty the time he needed. "Thanks Rasic" Ty called out as he dove into the fray, hacking and slashing his way into the group. He only paused for a moment to watch as Rasic felled three Acolytes with one swing of his giant claws. "God I'm glad these guys are on our side." Ty found himself saying out loud as turned in Cal's dirction.
konske
Cal spun his halbert around, taking the heads of four acolites off. He ran past them and shouldered into another one before the four even hit the ground. "This is starting to piss me off." Cal let out a growl and then slammed his halbert inot the ground and used it as a vault to push himself over the croud or acolites. He grinned then came down, cutting four more in half before he even touched the ground. "Cal. get your ass out of there!" Rasic was yelling at him from one side, and Ty was from the other. Cal looked up to see the limp body of Jonas' still hanging from the rafters. "Shit. I had a feeling that this might happen. Should have done something to help." Cal looked around at his surroundings. "Guess I really don't have much of a choice." He smiled and then turned towards an acolite. He threw his halbert, striking the acolite in the chest, causing him to go flying backwards into the crowd. "What the hell do you think your doing?" Ty asked, managing to get next to him. "Just stay out of my way, ok boy?" Cal turned to him and smiled. Cal reached up to his shoulder and then started to pull something out. When he was done, a blade the side of ahis entire body rested in his hands. "Thats a little scary. I didn't know that was possible." Ty took a step back and then turned to the acolites. "How long do you have?" "In my condition, I would say no more than thirty minutes." Cal spun the blade around with one hand and then brought it down, cracking the concrete below him. "So, lets make it count." He smirked and then ran past Ty twards the acolites. He kept spinning his blade around, ripping inot anything that was near him. A few seconds later, he stopped. He looked down to see his own halbert in his calf. "You fucker." Cal turned to the acolite that had stabbed him and then anger and rage started to form on his face. "Never touch my weapons." Cal picked his sword up and then stabbed the acolite in the waist and then spun, severing the man in two. He looked around to see that the acolite numbers had deminished to nearly a fraction of the original number. "This is good. Its getting easier." He smiled and tried to take a step forward but then fell to his knees." Guess I didn't have as long as I though. That fucking daemon took more out of me that I guessed." He looked up to see Rasic and Ty standing next to him. "I guess that healing thing you did takes alot out of you." Rasic glanced down at the half breed. "You have no idea. And to add to that, I pulled the last blade out of my body. I really need to rest. Otherwise, I am only dead weight." Cal looked up at him and smiled. "But, I will fight as long as I can move, no telling how long that is though." He laughed a little and then pulled his halbert from his leg. Using both the sword and his halbert, he was able to make it to his feet. "So, how should we go about this?"
Esbell
((Sorry about the delay folks. Got myself a small pickle to deal with, so let?s not rule out the possibility of there being a few hiccups in my activity. Thank you for the patience and understanding? assuming you gave it to me.)) Judging by Night?s response, he was a straight shooter of a man, and would likely not dance along to Benoit?s charades. These Hunters were like the salt of the earth, yet neither of them made any motions to antagonize him. Despite the contempt before investigation questioning of course. Night?s stale words began to distort in Benoit?s mind as his physical fatigue caught up to him for the moment. His legs stiffened like the trunk of a tree, and the sudden paralysis knocked him over. The very next thing Benoit could correlate was a visage of Mortus looming over his debilitated body, and in a seemingly omnipotent voice, demanded of Benoit to reposition himself to the warehouse location. Benoit smiled almost stupidly by unexpected course of events, ?As hastily as my body will carry me commandant,? he reported back. Retrieving the discarded patta that lay beside him, and utilizing it to hoist himself upward, Benoit began to lumber over to his automobile, and fell into it?s driver seat. Adjusting himself properly into his seat, and giving life to his engine. He bolted his car on route a swift as possible? not even bothering to close his drivers door as he darted chaotically through the streets.
ScreamSin
Night cursed as the car fishtailed around a corner, regaining his balance from the throw. He took a brief moment to regain his breath, staring off as the car scraped past a light pole. Turning, Night steadied his weapon, leaning the blade over his forearm as the daemons swarming over Thea began to take notice of him. He lunged forward, slashing and stabbing with his sword rapidly, pivoting and spinning as the blade dipped and swayed, each time rising with more and more blood. As Night slid next to Thea, the two spun and maneuvered around each other in a violent dance of brutal slaughter, Night's red coat trailing across behind his blade as he ducked under Thea's wings, her claws gutting the daemons and tearing their throats. By the time the spectacle was finished, both were back to back, breathing heavily in a rising storm of cinders as the bodies of the daemons burned away into nothingness. Night's blade hung loosely at his side as he leaned backwards slightly, eyes shut as he regained control over his breathing. Thea glanced at him, and Night wiped a hand across his mouth, forcing himself to regain his composure. "Come on, we're heading to the construction yard to help the others." He shouldered the blade and started to head towards the yard, though his gait was considerably slower then before as Thea took to the sky. Night began to serpentine into the city, heading towards the construction site. ------------------ The acolytes and daemons surrounding the group had thinned considerably, and most of the worshipers were fleeing for their lives from Ty, Cal, and Rasic. Blood, corpses and ash littered the area as the hunters slowly regained their breath. Ty's phone buzzed as Night's number flicked onto the display. "Ty, Thea and I are heading to the yard, is everyone still alive?" "We've pretty much cleaned up here. Jonas is dead...Cal is still alive though." "Dammit...alright, head back to the mansion...it's only a few minutes till dawn, so the daemons will be pulling back. We're done for the night...I'll see you there." ----------------- Night waved a hand to Thea. "Thea, it looks like we're done for the night...I'm going to grab my car and head back to the mansion...go ahead and head back without me, I'll see you there." Night shouldered the sword and rolled his neck, trudging towards the alley he hid his car in. -------------------- Mortus appeared in the warehouse in front of the Emissary. The giant daemon was feasting on several acolytes, blood dripping from it's fangs as it looked up at the gathering acolytes. It's eyes fell on Senka as it ran a claw across it's mouth. "Is this the mortal you spoke of Mortus?" "Yes great one. Senka has proven her loyalty to us time and time again, and she will be most useful in this next phase of your great plan." The Emissary rose to it's hooves, leaning down towards the cannibal. "Who do you serve, little mortal?" "Hell and it's masters, great one!" The daemon snorted, then looked up as a loud banging was heard by the door. Benoit stumbled through the door, his shoulders caught by two suprised acolytes. "And this one?" "This is Benoit, the other I mentioned. He too has proven that he is an invaluable tool to our arsenal." The Emissary spread it's wings wide as it glared across the crowd of hooded figures. "All of you, listen well! Tomorrow, you will be part of a plan to finally deliver this world into the warm embrace of your dark masters." The crowd of acolytes broke into cheers as the Emissary pointed towards Benoit and Senka. "You two will be at the forefront of this mission." The Emissary turned and headed deeper into the warehouse, leaving the crowd to their fervent musings and hopeful chatter. Mortus walked alongside him. "Great one, what role do these mortals play in your plan?" "In time Mortus. They will serve their purpose, and then removed with the rest of the frail humans. All will be made clear, as the Shadow Lord has plans for you as well." The sun began to rise on New Vista.

Xemos
Rasic slumped noticeably as they made it back to the mansion, looking about as tired as someone who had worked a twelve hour shift at a construction job. With a slight groan he flopped into the nearest chair, hands stretched out gingerly on his legs as he looked at the others. "Is it like this every night? I....I'm not complainin' or anything, but damn." He murmured, feeling like an idiot for falling into such an obvious trap earlier....not only that but almost getting Ty killed. Oh well. At least he'd managed to help out Cal, if not the other man who had been on his team. He fixed the bandages on his face clumsily, gloved fingers tightening the thick white cloth where it had loosened to reveal marred skin underneath, his uncovered eye glancing at the main door. Drizzt Do'urden
He'd never been so close...well at least not in a long time. Ty sat across from Rasic in the mansions main living room. He'd wanted to tell the big man that it was okay, that everybody makes mistakes. But he also wanted to grab him by the throat and shake him...granted that wouldn't play out in Ty's favor, but heck he may feel a little better. Instead he decided to let Night know. Night always knew what to do when somebody made a mistake, whether it be chew his ass or...well normally that's how it went. Ty stood up and started walking out of the room. He paused for just a minute, placing his hand on Rasic's shoulder. The big man glanced up, it was clear that he was torn about the night as well. "Ty I'm..." Ty cut him off before he could continue. "Descent first night Rasic..." He walked out of the room and into the garage. Night had a full scale body shop in there, though Ty always got on him for not taking care of his car better. Ty set to work playing with his baby. He left the door to the garage open so he'd hear Night arrive...what was taking him so long?
ScreamSin
By the time Night finally drove the car into the garage, dawn was already creeping across the city and the inhabitants were beginning to wake up for their daily lives. As the beat up old car squeaked to a halt, Night slowly got out, dragging his sword out of the backseat. He glanced up as Ty rose from his car, dusting his hands off. "Night, I need to talk to you." "About tonight's ambushes? Get in line." "Mostly. But I need to tell you something about Rasic." "What is it?" ---------------------- From inside the mansion, Night's incredibly loud "WHAT?!" could be heard from almost every room. The garage door was kicked nearly off it's hinges as Night stormed inside, a huge dented crack left where the doorknob slammed against the wall. "RASIC!" The half daemon hopped to his feet, straightening his bandages as Night stormed up to him, grabbing the front of his shirt and hoisting him off the ground. "GOD DAMMIT, WHAT PART OF LISTEN TO TY WAS TOO HARD FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND?!" "I-" "SHUT UP!" Night dropped the half daemon, grabbed his arm and whirled him to face Ty. "Ty has more experience at this then you do, if I say listen to him, you listen to every goddamn word he says! He keeps you alive! You don't make a goddamn move unless he says to!" "B-but I thought they were innocent-" "SHUT! UP! If there are innocents, you let them die!" The entire room went silent at Night's words. "You need to look at the bigger picture, you can't risk your own life just for a few others! If I lose you, I lose a hunter! A hunter who could have saved hundreds of lives later on, if not thousands!" Night released Rasic's arm and glared at him. "Don't you EVER do something that stupid again! You want to risk your life for every tied up civilian, do it on your own time! Not when you run the risk of getting another Hunter killed!" Night turned and started to leave the room. As he neared Ty, the red coated hunter gripped his shoulder, leaning towards the other man so that only they could hear his words. "If you can't handle keeping another Hunter under control, you better damn well tell me now so I don't ever have to put my trust in you again only to have it backfire in my face." His red eyes glared at Ty for a moment before he headed up the staircase towards his room. With a savage yell, he kicked several of the supports out from the banister, the shattered wood clanking to the lobby floor as he made his way down the hall. The entire mansion could hear his door slam violently shut, followed by a loud growl and what sounded like him hurling a bookcase across the room. konske
Cal watched Night storm out of the room after his little "talk" with Rasic. Cal smiled as he cloed his eyes. "No worries there buddy. The only reason he talked to you like that is becuase if you died, like he said, he would be out a good hunter. He has given me that talk alot over the years. It never seems to change." Rasic sat back down and then glanced over at Cal. "You say that, but it doesn't make me feel any better you know. I still really screwed up back there and could have gotten both Ty and myself killed." "Thats true, but you didn't. An for all its worth, thats what matters. You both can live on to fight another day." Cal shook his head and then frowned. "Unlike you two, I actually lost one of the new hunters." Cal opened his eyes as Kurai sat down next to him. "But I was lucky too. At least I didn't loose this young one." He smiled and patted her on the head. She turned to him and brushed off his hand. "Don't do that. I don't like it." Kurai gave him a nasty glare and then looked away from him. "So, Rasic. Now at least, you know how it feels. Lives depend on you. No matter your choices, they always will. So don't think too hard on it this time." Cal rubbed his head and then slowly stood up. He used his halbert as a crutch and put most of his weight on it a he walked twards his room. On the way Cal used the wall along with his halbert. "Damn this body." He caoughed once, blood running down his chin. He used the back of his hand to wipe it away, leaving a smear mark of crimson red trailing away from the corner of his mouth. "I guess this is what I get from rushing the healing process when i needed to just let it take its course." He smiled and finally opened the door to his room. He sat down on the bed and then let out a long sigh. "And this was only day one. If this is what to expect, then I really need to start using my head more." He shook his head and then before he hit the pillow, he was asleep.

He gave her a glare that said so many threats a normal person would leave him alone but she knew him and continued. "Besides, I think that was an antique." He growled and looked as if he were about to say something and than simply let his shoulders drop in exhaustion. ScreamSin
The hotel known as Twin Red rose into the air in downtown New Vista. The entire organization was controlled by Acolytes, from head manager down the bellhop. The entire staff and indeed, most of the residents, were devout followers of Hell, having sold their souls for promises of their dreams fulfilled. In the spacious hotel suite Senka and Benoit had been stationed in, the smell of booze was already flooding the area. The suite was a large three room luxury accommodation. Two separate bedrooms, and a grand bathroom complete with a jacuzzi tub. The large refrigerator within Benoit's room had been liberally stockpiled with all forms of incredibly potent liquor. Senka's room had been stocked with fine cuisine, along with her more...primal...appetizers. Hunks of flesh wrapped in blood soaked paper crowded the ice box. A knock on the door announced the arrival of the Servitors. Two robed figures entered the room, the man bowing low to Senka as the woman entered Benoit's room. The man was strikingly handsome, with elegant hair framing a noble face. However, the entire left half of his face was horribly deformed and mangled, the eye little more then an oozing socket and the mouth twisted upwards into a horrible sneer. The man wore a black gauze veil over the mangled flesh, though the features were still somewhat visible behind the thin fabric. His voice was a soothing tone, but as he spoke, the deformities on his visage snapped and popped. "Mistress Senka, I am Henry. I have been ordered to assist you in carrying out the plan of the great Emissary." The man folded his arms behind his back, his delicate fingers twirling a large black cane with a silver top slowly, a slight smile on his face as he looked at Senka carefully. She blinked, folding her hands with a cruel grin. "And what makes you think I would want your help?" The man smiled, apparently expecting the question. "My dear lady, I am single handedly responsible for the deaths of over 14 Hunters, I have served the daemons well for over 12 years. I am a skilled tactician, and I have survived over 67 encounters with the Hunters during my service to the Burning Shadow." ----------------------- Benoit, who had been passed out on the bed, was awakened by a gentle touch. A lily white woman, incredibly slender and wearing a throat high dress and long sleeves stared down at him with bright blue eyes. The black outfit highlighted her incredibly pale skin and deep red hair as she stared at him with a slight smile, the smell emanating from his body didn't seem to faze her in the least. "Master, awaken. I am Heather, and I am your Servitor, as commanded by the great ones!" Her voice was incredibly soft, nearly incomprehensible as she folded her arms and curtsied to Benoit as he rolled around on the bed. From her hip hung a large magnum revolver, spattered with dried blood. Her brilliantly blue eyes followed Benoit's every movement as she straightened her dress. "Master Benoit, you do not need to rise. I am merely introducing myself to prepare for the up coming plans of our glorious masters. You have no need to get up yet." Xemos
Rasic shook slightly as he watched Night stamp up the stairs in a rage, straightening his coat before looking at Cal. "I dunno....I feel pretty useless right now." He muttered, glancing up the staircase again before turning to Ty. "Sorry....again." He murmured, slowly moving up the stairs to his own room. He turned back, looking at the taller hunter. "I....I won't let my emotions get in the way again." He said quickly before turning and walking faster. The half daemon retreated to his room and shut the door, letting out a drawn out sigh before pulling the bandages off his face. They had been loosened and torn, hell, even covered in blood from the fights earlier in the night. He pulled them off slowly, tossing the dirty strips in the garbage and sitting on the bed. "Well damn....not the best first night i'd have imagined..." He said to himself, running a hand habitually over the stretched and distorted scar tissue on the right side of his face. "At least i'm not dead yet." He chuckled, feeling the adrenaline start to wear off as he sleepily looked out the window, the sun just starting to rise.

Drizzt Do'urden
Ty watched Rasic make his way up the stairs, making him the last person downstairs. How many times had it come to this? How many times had Ty done eveything he could, only to have Night berate him in front of the rest of the group. "I'll figure it out Night," He began mumbling to himself, "I'll figure out what exactally you're expecting me to do before this is over." Ty relaxed in a large recliner and tried to figure out exactally what could've been done to prevent Rasic from rushing to save the innocents. He also tried to determine what held him back from doing the same? Intuition? Experience? Or was he really becoming like Night? Those thoughts became a blur as Ty finally drifted off to sleep. ------------------------------------------------------- His dream was always the same. His mother calling to him for help, though his dream self couldn't hear her he could. Though his dream self didn't know what he was about to walk in on, he did. He tried everything to stop it, everything to keep from walking through that door. "Just turn and RUN!" He cried out to his dream visage, but to no avail. As always he entered, and as always the screams stopped as Ty emerged covered in blood. His mother's blood.... [B]OOC: Sorry it took me so long to post, drill shut my last 4 days down. ScreamSin
Night stared listlessly at the food Thea had pushed towards him. The few volunteers who choose to remain at the mansion always left food in the rooms for the returning Hunters. Those who cleaned and cooked within the mansion were not fighters, but doctors and regular civilians who knew the truth, but could not bear to face the horrors of the daemons. Although he had told them several times to not treat him like some rich connoisseur, several always seemed to leave him platters of cheese, or bottles of wine. The hunter glared at it, Thea's words ringing in his head. "You're not as young as you used to be." He grabbed the glass of dark wine, crushing it in his gloved hand. As the shards fell onto the table and the liquid poured across the wood, he grabbed the edge of the plate and flipped it upside down. The dish rolled off the edge and fell onto the carpeted floor, the food scattering around it. The hunter sat at the table silently, staring at the mess with his crimson eyes before shrugging off his heavy coat. With a slight grunt, he put Vendetta on it's mantle rest. Peeling off the thick bodysuit, Night caught a glimpse of his body in the mirror on the wall. Scars, all over his body. His entire body was a quilt of jagged gashes, snarled patches of twisted burns, and a road map of slices. There wasn't a single part of his body that wasn't decorated with some form of horrific reminder of his existence. Standing in his underwear, he stared at his wrecked form. Sinew, bone, scars, and muscle. Nothing else. His long hair, his constant stubble and the deep bags under his eyes, along with the bloodshot whites, showed what he was, through and through. "....hunter..." As Night mumbled the word, he walked slowly to the window, sliding the curtains shut until his room was in darkness. Then, the hunter crawled slowly into his bed, pulling the blankets over his shoulders as he shut his eyes to get a few hours of sleep.
Akieen Cloud
Thea stood on the roof above Night's window listening as the glass shattered and the plate was flipped, shaking her head and jumped down on to the ground below, she squinted as the sun rose alittle more. She was not harmed by the sun but she hated it none the less. She walked in and was greeted by one of the people that cleaned the mansion for Night. She bowed politely to Thea who nodded in return. "Master Night will require another tray of food and drink, this time something less fancy if you will." "Like what miss?" "Try a regular sandwich with a can of soda or something of that sort." The girl nodded and rushed off to make the tray, Thea called out to her. "Give it a few hours before you do though, he's resting." The girl nodded and walked away. Thea looked around and caught sight of a few of the others and simply watched them as they headed for their rooms, many of the others who knew her knew that she could go days with out sleep. She climbed the stairs to her room which was adjacent to Night's and walked in. It was dark and evil looking with sparse decorations; taking her weapons off her hips she walked to the mirror and looked at her appearance, her dark colored skin hiding the scars she had acquired through her work with Night, she was not nearly as scarred as he was but she had a few battle wounds to show off, one in particular was across her mid section, a deamon's claws had caught her off guard. It was a few years ago so it was dull and worn, she looked at her face, her red eyes glowing slightly giving her a fearful look, her pointed ears and long face. She went into her shower, washing off quickly she dressed and walked out, sanding outside her door she leaned on the door and waited, closing her eyes she felt sleep tug at her and slipped off still standing sentry out side Night's door to make sure the older hunter got his rest, her words earlier must have affected him in some form or fashion, she knew he was aging and knew he hated it when some one mentioned it to him but the fact of the matter was he was not young anymore, she was older than him but her body was different than his it felt it's age alot later in her life than his did and she could see the strain on his body that his job was causing, the more rest he got the better. She heard a mumbled grunt come from his room and let a ghost of a smile stretch across her face. "Thea, I'm not a child, stop standing guard." She met this request by simply sitting cross legged at her door and leaned against it letting a light sleep pull at her which she did not fight. As she drifted lightly her body stayed alert to anything going on around her.
konske
OOC: sry bout the wait. been havin internet problems IC: Cal opened his eyes as the sun satarted to warm his room. Slowly he sat up and ran his hand through his hair. He smiled as the sun felt warm to the touch. He got up, putting weight on his leg, which was now healed. "Well, leave it to the sun to recharge the old batteries." He smiled once more and shook his head. He grabbed his robe and put it on. He walked out of his room and started to for the kitchen. As he walked he spotted a young girl who nodded at him. "Good morning, Cal. Did you have an interesting night last night?" He nodded to her as he opened the fridge and pulled out some leftover food from teh night before. "It was interesting to say the least. Hope you all here havent been worried about us." He took a bite of the cold pizza and then looked at her. "That is a strange way to put it, Master Cal. We are always worried when you hunters leave for the night." She shook her head and let out a sigh. "We never know who is going to come back and who isnt." Cal burrowed his eyebrows and looked at her hard. "How many times do I have to tell you. I dont like that tittle. It doesnt suite me. Ne master, unless-" He stopped and then turned around to see three more young hunters that had made it back from the night before. "I see." "Yes sir. Will there be anything else before I get back to my duties, Master Cal?" She gave him a wink and he shook his head and gave her a smile. "No, thank you anyway." He watched her leave and then finished the pizza he took out of the fridge. When he finished, he walked out in to the back yard and then looked up at the sun. "You are a strange one. No matter how much blood is shed, you always seem to come out and grace everyone in your warmth. Wouldnt you agree, Rasic?" He looked over to the half daemon's window and smiled. "But then again, I use the sun in a different way than most. Its like it quickens my abilities. So, how about you? Whats the sun in your eyes?" He smirked as he stared at Rasic. Drizzt Do'urden
Ty woke up from the dream, a sweaty mess. He wasn't sure why, but he always felt ancy after his dream. Always had to be moving. "I wonder if Night is still up?" Ty made his way upstairs, to find Thea sitting crosslegged on the floor. Ty smiled as he saw her there, if there was anyone in this world more devoted to Night then he it was Thea. Ty gave her a slight kick to wake her. "What is it Ty?" As anyone would be, she wasn't real happy about being woken. Ty, not waiting on an ivitation that never would have came, slid down beside her. "You've been with Night for a long time. If you don't mind me asking, why do you work so hard for him?" "Why do you?" Ty expected as much, Thea wasn't open with anybody. "Well, I have my reasons. Mostly, though, because he's been like a father to me. I guess that's why I came to talk to him now....though I don't even know what to talk to him about. You ever felt like that? Just don't know what to say to him?" Ty didn't know what he was doing....inside he thought maybe he looked at Thea and Night as almost a father and mother. They were definitealy the wisest people he knew, and were really the only family he had left. Though there was no way he'd EVER let them know that. Xemos
Rasic merely blinked at Cal's statement before shrugging. "I dunno. The sun always hurt my eyes....sooooo....I only look at it from time to time." He smiled slightly. "Uh....'scuse me. I need some sleep." He hurriedly said, closing his thick curtains with a sigh. "Ugh....tonight was a NIGHTMARE." He muttered, slapping himself in the forehead with the heel of his palm. "I'm lucky I didn't get Ty killed.....or well.....anyone else..." The half daemon shook his head as he pulled off his coat and crawled into bed, tiredly pulling the sweat stained bandages from his face. Almost immediately he was dead to the world. ------------------------------ A few hours later~ "Maghawm!!! Moneyzanmonkey!!!" With a jerk, Rasic awoke, hair tousled and flattened against the side of his face. ".......guuuuhh..." He glanced sleepily at the clock next to his bed. 11 am......not much sleep all considering. "Ah fuck it." He muttered, yanking the covers off and promptly rolling out of bed with a thump. "If i'm going to be a hunter I need to be able to get up when I want to! Or....." He blinked, sitting on the floor at the edge of his bed. "Hmm. I wonder what everyone's up to?" He asked himself. The man often talked to himself, it was a habit ever since he'd been a kid. Rasic proceeded to take a shower and get dressed, pulling fresh bandages out from amongst his clothes and carefully wrapping them around his head, covering up the burned side of his face. With a quick tug he tightened the knot and headed for the door, again checking both ways before opening it more than a crack and stepping out. "Hummmm.......hungry." He commented as he wandered through the kitchen, snagging several apples on his extended fingers with ease. They came in handy....sometimes. He contentedly ate one of the apples, clawed hand extended in front of him as he wandered the building, looking for anyone to talk to. As he went up the stairs and closer to Night's room, he slowed, remembering the man's anger at him the night before. "Ahhh.....damn. I need to make up for that." He reminded himself as he turned the corner and spotted Ty and Thea. He stopped, half considering turning back before straightening himself up and walking toward the pair, a friendly smile on his face. "Uh....hi guys! Either of you want an apple?" He asked, extending his hand. Apple juices oozed down his claws from the remaining fruits. Rasic beamed. "I cleaned my hands before I went to bed, so they should be pretty safe to eat!" He assured as he waved the skewered fruits at the two.
Esbell
((A thousand pardons for the horrid absence folks, but I’m returning to this comfortable little world of make-believe now)) Benoit woke to the soft touch of the woman beside his bed. He shifted his gaze to her, and tried to correlate her image through his clouded eyes. She was a very formal lass with deathly pale skin and hair like a kindling flame, so at a glance she seemed to share some qualities of Benoit himself. The lady spoke to him as he roused from his rest, and announcing that she was to be his servitor. Unfortunately the bulk of her words was faded by Benoit’s mental fatigue, however, acting on an impulse he rolled out of his bed and atop the lady’s feet. Pushing himself upright he stared into her eyes, removed the glove on his right hand and grabbed hers and shook in professionally. “Charmed to be acquainted to you my dear mademoiselle,” Benoit peppered some flaunt into his words to mask his weary state. As he became more in tuned to reality the words he spoke to him earlier suddenly came to light. “Heather, would you consider being my wife?” Before she could answer Benoit initiated a little monologue for her. “You are not a servant to me, but only to those dastardly daemons, and you are helping me help them. Considering the way you address them those daemons must have you absolutely tickled to work for them. Whatever prestigious act they did to win you over must have been a handsome one. I on the other hand bartered my soul to hell, and negotiations ultimately ended there.” Benoit paused, “I’m a cloud drifting through life… and I can't seem to find a constructive point to my babbling anymore.” As he finished his words he sat back down on the bed and wiped his brow.
